For anyone who would like a calmer place to share support and information about the price increases.

Where are you getting that MyBMI is raising prices? On their webpage they say they aren't.

Hi ladies. I've been on Mounjaro since May & lost just over 2 stone. I'm 71 & last week had some spotting so I'm being sent for trans vag scan. Has anyone of postmenopause age had similar. I'm very worried.

Yes, me. It felt quite disturbing, but there are so many similar reports of WLIs affecting menstruation and menopause. It seems to be benign, and possibly due to the release of oestrogen stores in adipose tissue as weight is lost. But of course you're right to have it checked. I hope it is now being researched.

Chemist4u sent me an email on Friday that included this statement, so I'm amazed if they've increased prices already!
We are currently in negotiations with Eli Lilly on future pricing for Mounjaro but in the meantime, we have no immediate plans to increase our prices inline with theirs on the 1st of Septemberand have plenty of stock including bundles available

Just went through the consultation and it's come out as £299 for a 12.5mg pen. I'll try and post a screen shot.

Reported on Reddit, so I suppose take with a pinch of salt. A user had a screenshot of their 3 pen bundle 5, 7.5 and 10 for £699.

Goodness. £189 for my last 12.5 from them.
I could manage a couple of months more and that's it.

Kipperandarthur · 17/08/2025 12:53

It's going to be very interesting seeing what the prices actually settle at after September.

Medicine Marketplace seem extremely good, but no good if they can't actually supply to the demand created.

I'm so glad I asked on here. I was shocked when I had a bleed & dragging pains for a day especially at '71' . I'm retired NHS secretary & a little knowledge is dangerous & I have a little useless knowledge so I've been so worried. Thank you for replying.

I will edit my original post, I went through the consultation with chemists4u to see for myself but I really don't want to do another one (or spread misinformation)

KrankyKumquat · 17/08/2025 13:07

@Col28
I had 2 days of spotting about 2 or 3 months into using MJ (I'm 58 and not had a period for about 10years). I never did anything about it (except swear and worry) and it's not happened again, a year on. Hope yours turns out to be nothing to worry about either x

So far there appear to be 3 providers advertising their prices MMP, Oushk and Pillsorted (although none of the big pharmacies, those with the most buying power e.g. MedExpress, Chemist4U, Simple Online Pharmacy have). MMP is an outlier with 15mg sub £300. I suspect Oushk and Pillsorted's members prices will be around where the market falls, although we will need to see what the big pharmacies do because they will get the best bulk buying rates.

If MMP are far below everyone else, this isn't good news, as MMP are a small ish provider, last month they got 4000 pens of each of the higher doses, they will only be able to supply a small number of users. At their current prices (they are the cheapest for 10mg +) they sell out in a matter of days.

This is all to say Oushk's/Pillsorted are probably a good indicator of September prices, but it will really hinge on what the big pharmacies do.

Edited

Simple online pharmacy had this on their website yesterday.

This is why I’m not rushing to MMP. If they can guarantee supply, great! But undercutting the market when you don’t have the resources to supply the necessary amount is just risky business to me.

I’ve been with MMP for months and put in my usual, scheduled order literally two hours before this shit hit and they cancelled my order with no further explanation that afternoon. I’ve got one week left and am now scrabbling around to find a new supplier when I should be relaxing by the pool 😭

and it seem most places have sold out of 10mg or are really expensive 😭

That's exactly what I wanted to do but family insist I have a check up. I really don't want to know tbh. I'm 71 & wouldn't have extensive treatment anyway. Thank you so much. I appreciate you letting me know.

Reddit is in complete and utter meltdown at the moment. Claiming everyone bar the three announced will be sitting at well above £400, some even saying it’ll be £500+ per pen!

True, I've asked for my original post to be removed but left up my post about Chemist4U because I went through their consultation process and the 12.5mg pen was £299 so theirs has significantly increased.

DottyMcDiet · 17/08/2025 13:32

I tried to order from PillSorted this morning to take any possible advantage of their ‘membership’ pre September and they turned me down due to one of my medications. 😠

Three different prescribers and my GP have all said it’s safe for me to take so that’s annoying!

I’ve had a look at Chemist4U that a PP mentioned but does anyone know why it isn’t on the Monj comparison list?

Hi Cantonet, thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm so worried as I've had a thickening on the back of womb for years & it's always been ok. But now after being on Mounjaro this little bleed has happened. I'm dreading the trans vag scan because holding two pints of water in me is impossible tbh & I'm praying the results will be clear of cancer. Having heard your experience I'm a little relieved. Thank you.

Having had a fair few of the these scans, I think I'm right in saying you only need a full bladder for the external abdominal scan, which they do first. They always get me to have a wee before the transvaginal part of the scan. When I haven't been able to achieve a full bladder that just meant that they couldn't see much from the external scan and so went straight to the internal. Obviously both are ideal, but they will definitely have had women turn up without a full bladder before and can still get some imaging.

Sorry, @Col28, reading your post again, it sounds like you've probably had your fair share of scans too, so I might be telling you stuff you already fully aware of!

You've just made me remember something. I think I drank loads & when I went in they told me to pop to loo. I think you're right...I really hope so. Tbh, I wish I'd just ignored it. The bleeding was slight & stopped after 2 days as did the cramps.
God Willing it will be clear. Thank you again.

No, please don't apologise I'm very greatful to hear from you all. I wish I'd mentioned this when it first happened. It's comforting to hear from you all.

Maybe it would be a good plan to start a different thread about the gynae issues as I think this one is about the price changes?

I think it’s just a nice place to discuss whatever we need to, at this point. There won’t be much news on prices now until they all start releasing their new pricing structure

I don't notice reddit being 'in meltdown' in fact it often seems more reasonable and supportive than MN to be honest

There are some posts sharing info on the new prices yes, but other posts as well..
