Big price increases?

CoverMeInMarmalade · 14/08/2025 11:45

Anyone else seen this chatter about massive price increases announced for MJ (to pharmacies) in the last hour or so?

Very concerning as it looks like it could double the cost of some of the doses. I'll try to find the copy of the letter sent out...

Show to who? Does someone need to see that?

Nobody does of course. It shouldn't surprise me that some posters want to come onto a thread where people are worried about not being able to afford something that has changed their life for the better just to be an utter cunt and yet...

Humans never fail to disappoint.

It's cool. It's a really difficult day.

Sure is. Big kick in the dick for me as I’ve got a few more months to go. Just going to see where it all goes once the dust settles.

What is the most cost effective pen to uy and microdose on? Is it the 5mg pen - extracting x10mg of 2.5mg (which includes the bonus dose?).

I’ve been doing that, with 5mg should be able to get 8 x 30 clicks and hopefully just about 3 bonus doses with a syringe of 0.3ml each. That’s 11 doses. Not sure I’d want to chance a pen for longer. Obv it’s kept in the fridge whole time and going on holiday I’d extract the amount into an insulin syringe rather than risk the pen warming up.

Obv could do the same with a 10mg pen to get 5mg doses.

Just looked and unless it's not showing updated prices for me it doesn't look that bad at all for some of them?

If you’re >30BMI, you will not be able to switch.

Interesting that you say that as Oushk's lead pharmacist has already said they will support maintenance users in switching.

Why on earth would you think it's ok to 'be on it for life'
Completely defeats the objective of learning calorie control and proper nutrition whilst on it to reach your goal.
As a diabetic I am pleased it's going to be harder for the general public to get it. It's medicine for goodness sake. Even getting it with my GP I had to commit to scheduled blood tests and full health checks to keep me safe and healthy on it. Those wanting to take it for life because they can't learn some control is ridiculous

Are you taking the piss?

What’s ‘learning calorie control and proper nutrition’?

‘Can’t learn some control’

What awful ignorant things to say.

@AhBiscuits switching to Wegovy means taking a break from medication and starting again at the lowest dose, so may not be effective for several weeks after that. And if your BMI is less than 30, or less than 27 for some people, then you wouldn’t be able to swap. It’s not as straightforward as just ordering Wegovy instead of Mounjaro for your next order.

I have just done this Zava will deliver pens on the same day - but its two separate orders - there was no option to stagger the dates. If you want my 25% or £40 discount code just let me know. They are the pharmacy wholesaler for Asda and have been great so far - even today when no doubt they were snowed they turned around this order in a couple of hours.

Can I have the code please. I know it’s not technically allowed to share in here anymore but I don’t care now! ;)

Urgh my naturally slim, tall and willowy colleague will love this. She is angry that people take the drug as she’s afraid that people will be slimmer and therefore more attractive than her. She spits feathers every time she hears someone is taking it. I’m so gutted this is happening, it’s sorted my PCOS out a treat, I’ve lost 4 stone and I feel so well.

Did she actually say any of that?

Ah. The PP said monj was showing big increases already so I had a look and couldn't see anything particularly high. I felt a wave of relief for a moment. Sad times.

JustPinkFinch · 14/08/2025 19:28

Anyone NOT panic buying/stockpiling? I can get another 4 weeks out of my current pen, I hope this has all calmed down by then and there is stock left. Just noticed Swift Doctor have suspended sales and my pharmacy are showing out of the higher doses. Feeling very sorry for anyone coming up to needing a new pen and they've all be bought by those with fridges chocked full of the fucking stuff.

Puppylucky · 14/08/2025 19:28

I'm no expert but given how competitive pricing has been up until now across various pharmacies why are we all assuming that all the pharmacies will pass all of the increase in cost directly on to the customer? I understand that smaller /newer pharmacies such as Oushk may have no choice but why should a large established player in the wider online pharmacy market such as Med Express or Cloud not decide to take a hit on supply costs to offer a better deal to consumers? They obviously can decide what to charge to a large extent so can presumably decide how to react to this.

I guess this will show which users have used Mounjaro as a tool to retain their eating habits and which users will very soon be fat again.

You know, I can hear you gleefully rubbing your hands together from the other side of the Internet.

Are you as vindictive and begrudging in other aspects of your life too?

whitepowerbank · 14/08/2025 19:31

CoverMeInMarmalade · 14/08/2025 11:50

It's all over the reddit MJ boards. Oushk will not have sent anything out because, if true, they won't have had a chance yet. Pharmacies are meant to have just got this today.

Oushk are however out of stock on 15 and 12.5, presumably because of a spike in orders on hearing this.
