Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

I joined a gym today in preparation for coming off the jabs at the end of this year.
I actually enjoyed it! But time will tell if I keep going with it!
Part of my motivation to keep going is not to pile all the weight (4 stone) back on. Life is so much easier without such a massive stomach/body.

Do shop about a bit if the initial gym doesn't suit you. Took me thirty years to work out that a standard gym with a programme to follow wasn't me. I like CrossFit..so much more fun and lovely vibe from people. I'm not at one at the moment as I'm using the money for jabs and can't afford both (I can imagine the comments if I said that in AIBU) 🤣 but will go back to it in Spring maybe after a year on MJ.

Morning everyone! Weigh day for me!

SW:13st 7lb
CW: 10st 4 lb
GW: 10st 7lb

jabbed 3.75mg today after not jabbing for two weeks

I am feeling so much better now I’m off 5mg. I hadn’t realised how badly it was affecting me. I have so much more energy now. I’ve been exercising hard over the last two weeks - I think slimpod is motivating me and trying to eat back some of my exercise calories. I was up at 10st 7lb a few days ago so don’t quite know what’s going on with my weight. I’m also not sure if I’ll leave injection another two weeks or not - I was pretty hungry yesterday! I’ve been sticking to the routine of deciding my meals in advance in the morning though and taking them to work… then I’m not allowed to eat anything else - my brain seems to accept that! Anyway, maintenance doing ok - will finish this pen at 3.75mg then probably go down to 2.5mg.

@SaddlebagSal I feel you with the gravity thing. I was doing a plank the other day in a cropped top and looked down to see the most horrific sight!! I look ok with clothes on though!!

Squiffy01 · 31/10/2025 16:05

No weigh in for me this week as in the Netherlands for half term. Jabbed as normal though.

have not been feeling great the last few weeks but muddling through.

QS90 · 31/10/2025 23:00

NSD I've realised I've lost a lot of strength in my wrists... have had to ask people at work to open my flask a few times now. Considering just not using it, but it's metal so doesn't have that plasticy aftertaste, and there often aren't any big glasses at work either.

Did my tyre pressed yesterday and couldn't get the caps off - luckily my partner was in, but really, how ridiculous! I'm glad to be at goal, and on to the next stage of building my strength back up (whilst hopefully keeping weight the same).

Pepperwaggytail · 02/11/2025 08:50

Happy Sunday everyone 😊

Well done to all of you with great losses this week and a very big hug and hand hold for any of you dealing with shitty life things happening at the moment. We are here for you in this lovely non judgy little space in MN. 🥰

Well I jabbed 3.13 in my leg instead of my stomach last week and felt a LOT more hungry, but also no nausea the whole week. No weight loss either! So I’ve jabbed a day early (last night) and back in my stomach!

I checked my Happy Scale app where I weigh every day and I’ve maintained my weight at 9st 11-12lb (which was my original goal) for three months which I’m delighted about. I’ve been trying to lose a last 5-7lb though for the last month and on this low dose it’s just not happening. So I need to either increase my dose or just stay where I am and enjoy it! I do seem to be able to have a very low dose though and not gain and still have appetite suppression.

For those of you worrying about maintaining and having the food noises back, I can say that I’m loving my new body (even with saggy skin!) and higher energy levels so much it’s a lot easier to get exercise in and to think and eat healthily. I’ve still got the MJ as a crutch mind you, and this might be very different if I eventually decide to try and maintain without it. I’m trying to reframe my brain into believing I’m a healthy person rather than someone constantly struggling with weight (my life story!) and making food/ lifestyle choices that match this.

Oh, here is something I’ve not been able to talk about IRL 😜 and not on the rest of judgy Mums Net either!! I had my Botox top up yesterday which I’ve not had with MJ in my system previously. I lied and didn’t tell them I was on it (I have googled it and it’s ok to have both) but felt very guilty. As she was injecting me she said that she’s got another client who is on MJ and her Botox didn’t last nearly as long! Something to do (she thinks) with how the Botox is absorbed into the face muscles. My Botox lasted five months last time so now I’m wondering if I’ll be back there a lot sooner?😳 I would have told her but she’s a very good friend of one of my friends and I really don’t want to risk her saying anything (though I know she wouldn’t as she’s very professional) Anyone else had this experience? She says that her client was on a very high dose of MJ which I’m not.

Anyway - enough of an essay from me! Take care everyone 😘

QS90 · 02/11/2025 09:41

Interesting about thigh vs stomach @Pepperwaggytail

Don't know about botox, but am planning on having some myself soon. Have only had it once before, years ago and LOVED it, but it's the cost (and obviously didn't have it when expecting my babies). I only have one proper wrinkle, a number 1 between my eyebrows, but it's like the Mariana Trench. Will bear it in mind it might not last too long!

QS90 · 02/11/2025 09:42

Wow not long for you now @Incognitoburrito88 ! How are you getting on?

Uninvitedleaf · 02/11/2025 09:52

Morning everyone!

I’ve given in and finally started to increase my dose from 5mg. I had two shots left to take from my current pen so I’ll split the golden dose to increase both slightly as a stepping point and then I’m going to 7.5mg. Think it will work out as around two doses of 6.25mg then the full 7.5mg after that on my next pen. Been resisting it but I’m getting annoyed with myself for giving into sugar cravings and I’ve not lost much for a couple of weeks so I think it’s time or I’ll stall altogether! Still got nearly 2st to lose so I also want to get on with it.

At least I’ve already got a couple of 7.5mg pens I bought during the pendemic set aside so hopefully the financial hit won’t be too great.

Loving hearing how everyone else is doing 😊.

Yay 👋 I love it when everyone checks in :)

@Uninvitedleaf love the term pendemic!! I think you are right to go up - you’ve done so well and you don’t want to lose momentum at this point. 7.5 mg still isn’t that high a dose.

@QS90 I’m sorry to hear about your NSD - it’s made me reflect and I wonder if my grip strength is a bit decreased too. I’m not sure what we can do about it.

@Pepperwaggytail I think it’s good you didn’t tell the Botox lady you are on the jabs because now we can see if the being on MJ thing is true or if people’s perceptions are just skewed by knowing you are on it! Hope you are pleased with the results. You are doing so well with maintenance. I think we’re about the same height (I’m 5 7) and I can’t imagine going as low as 9st 7 (I’m 10st 4 now) but you are making me wonder if I should aim for my original goal of 9st 13lb.

My update: I jabbed on Friday morning - 3.75mg with a two week interval. I’m delighted to report that before I jabbed I weighed myself and my weight had dropped back down to 10st 4lb. I’m feeling a bit conflicted about everything now. I’ve downloaded shotsy and plugged in all my data and I can see that 3.75mg creates a huge peak.. wondering if I’d be better going down to 2.5mg every week rather than 3.75mg… urgh I don’t know. I’m also really stepping up exercise - I want to run 10k today and I’ve just really struggled to force down enough breakfast to get me round. Interestingly, I’m struggling with meals but have had to actively resist all the sweets my four children accumulated over Halloween!

I love my new body but maintaining it does seem like hard work (mainly mentally). On a positive though I have so much energy - I can’t stop exercising and I love running now I can’t feel my saddlebags jiggling up and down with each step!!

RhaenysRocks · 02/11/2025 10:37

Morning all.. well I'm nursing a hangover this morning so unashamedly having pastry to gete through various teen related activities but I hit 12.0 this morning for the first time so fuck it. I need to decide whether to order another 5 or or do as @Uninvitedleaf and reluctantly go up for a bit of a push. I have noticed suppression waning slightly but I've been on half term the last two weeks and it's always easier in term time with more routine. It's soooo expensive though 😭. I hate mucking about but could save a lot if I changed supplier. I wonder if I could talk mine into a price match

Im only 5ft 3 but according to the BMI charts I could go as low as 8st which would be far too low for me! What clothes size are you? I’m mostly 8-10 now which is ok for someone my height I think. I don’t think you need to go that low? Also bought some new bras and im 36 CC! My boobs are responsible for a fair bit of my weight I think!
You are doing amazingly with the running - my running is really my motivation to lose a little bit more - I’m getting a little bit faster!

Ah! I thought we were closer in height. I’m a size 10/12 now - I think I am probably happy with where I am - just need to be a bit more toned now. I am still super slow at running but getting so much pleasure from it. I turn 45 in Jan and I think I’d like to do a marathon next year to celebrate the milestone! I know I’ll never recapture the times I set in my 20’s (when I still wasn’t that fast) and I’m just trying to focus on enjoying the movement and being proud of what my body can do.

I ran a marathon when I turned 40 - I’d love to do another half, and I think I’ve got that in me. I’m very very slow now though! But the lighter I am the easier it is!
I think for your height size 10-12 is perfect!

Uninvitedleaf · 02/11/2025 17:00

Well I don’t know if it’s the slightly increased dose kicking in already (seems unlikely) or something else but I’ve been like the Duracell bunny today. Have made four Christmas cakes (long story, but over the years I’ve offered to make one here and there for friends and it’s turned into a regular thing) then had to clean the kitchen as it looked like an explosion in a cake factory. Cleaned the rest of the house while I was at it. Three loads of washing on the line. Bonus is that it’s kept me well away from the leftover Halloween chocolate.

I take no credit for “pendemic” @Incognitoburrito88, I’ve seen it used in a few places and it made me laugh so I’ve stolen it!

@RhaenysRocks yes that jump in price from 5mg to 7.5mg is sharp, isn’t it? It’s partly why I’ve kept putting off increasing. I’ve decided it will cost more overall if I don’t as I’ll need more pens at the rate I’m currently losing if I stick to the lower one. Hoping the 7.5 will actually work out cheaper in the long run.

My theory about BMI goal weights is that if we have lost a lot of weight we need to build in the added weight of the loose skin which isn’t going anywhere. I think I read on another thread that someone had a tummy tuck and the loose skin was 4kg - so maybe we don’t need to go as far a the BMI target?

Mumof2studentnurse · 03/11/2025 14:12

@Pepperwaggytail I am about to get botox for the first time. I had originally booked it for Dec 1st but I have brought it forward to the 17th of November - I will keep you posted with how long it lasts, but i really hope it lasts a while...long enough for me to actually pay off the credit card im using to fund it ;) x

Pepperwaggytail · 03/11/2025 19:21

Thinking about it I had Botox in when I started mounjaro and it’s lasted months with a low dose of MJ. Interesting though and I’ll definitely monitor it a bit more closely this time!

saxonyv · 04/11/2025 12:13

NSD - I have developed a saggy arse 😫 the skin looks awful.
what can I do to improve the texture?
I’m going to start doing weights to improve the muscle

PhantomErik · 04/11/2025 12:22

Checking in after my holiday & weigh the same as when I left so pretty happy with that. I had got down another 2lbs the week before going but that went back up so hoping it was just a regular fluctuation.

SW 16.6
CW 13.9

I’m definitely a slow, plodding along member of this group!

blanketsnuggler · 04/11/2025 16:25

Hi everyone.
I'd like some advice please. What have people done when they're thinking about coming off MJ?

I now weigh 11 stone (down from 15 1/2) and am thinking about the end of the MJ journey. I have enough pens to see me until Christmas. I am currently taking 7.5 dose.

Should I just start decreasing the dose? If so, when? And by how much?
Thanks

I only went up to 5 but reduced to 3.75 for a few weeks and will stay on 2.5 for another few weeks.
I am definitely more snacky, however with that I’m mindful I don’t want to eat too much so I am tracking the calories to try and keep a lid on things

RhaenysRocks · 04/11/2025 22:46

Well I've bitten the bullet and gave myself a 7.5 dose from my 5 pen. I'm v v bored if seeing a 12 on the scale and want to push through. Let's see....

QS90 · 04/11/2025 23:11

Checking in - Am tapering down the MJ - did 45 clicks of the 15mg bonus dose Monday morning. Have been intentionally eating around 1,700 calories. Could eat fewer I think, if I wanted to. But trying to eat the correct amount, rather than just not much. It's a change of pace, but fine. So far so good.

Me too! I took 6.25mg on Sunday as I think I can get two at this level out of what was left in my 5mg pen. I might up it to the full 7.5mg when I start a new pen or stick at this for a bit. So far I feel OK and seem to have kick started losses again, but will need to see how official weigh in looks on Sunday. Like you I’m bored and losing a bit of motivation - was still losing but it had really slowed down.
