Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Just caught up (55 posts!) as been lying low. Well done to everyone on your losses and NSV’s! I’m with you all on the hair loss stuff….maybe slightly slowing down. I started taking vitamins so maybe that’s helping, or maybe now that weight loss has slowed now I’m at target, who knows.

Anyway, finally got results back from GP regarding foot drop, and as expected I have what they call Slimmer Paralysis. Apparently it’s caused after rapid weight loss, resulting in a trapped nerve in the knee as lack of fat ‘padding’ to protect. They say sitting with your legs crossed a lot can cause it, which I do A LOT now that I can. Typical! I was enjoying being able to sit comfortably!
GP warned of excessive wait times for NHS physio so advised me to go private, which I have, and have an appointment on Saturday.

(please don’t panic/get paranoid about this issue as I believe it really only affects a minority so think I’m just unlucky!)

And if I could go back I wouldn’t change my decision to start this journey.

Hopefully the Physio will help sort it and will be all good soon 😊

SeaDippingandLattes · 27/10/2025 21:18

At 12:5 now - so nearly 1:5 pounds per week. I’m trying to get to 11:11 for my 40th in early December and then I think I should have enough doses to Christmas week or just after when I will need to cold turkey 🥶🦃

I’ve been squeezing my massive boobs into bras that were too tight for a while but now I can finally see that the back is too big on the tightest setting and there is room in the cup. I normally need to buy from bravissimo so have been holding out buying new until I’m gaunt but I may have to give way soon. If I buy a new bra at 12stone that should fit nicely still when I get to goal weight at 11:7 shouldn’t it?

increased dose from long term 5 to 6.2 today and feel nausea and bloated but the carbs were calling more frequently and I’m keen to just get this done now.

hope all having a good week x

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 28/10/2025 17:05

Going to continue on the 7.5mg dose as it seems to work for me and I’m still losing. However next pen is a 10mg as trying to save cash so going to take 45 clicks I think? Medexpress keep pestering me to buy my next dose but not sure as I still have a 12.5mg in my fridge 😅

QS90 · 28/10/2025 20:15

I plan on just being honest(ish) @ClimbingKilimounjaro and telling MedExpress I stockpiled some pens. Seems most people did this, I'm sure they'll still be happy to take everyone's money!

QS90 · 28/10/2025 20:19

Why cold turkey @SeaDippingandLattes ? Out of interest. Sounds potentially quite challenging, although I suppose January is a good time to do it, as lots of other people will be eating mindfully etc.

QS90 · 28/10/2025 20:28

Annoyingly have put 2lbs on since yesterday, despite having had 1,400 calories including 67g of protein. Day 18 of a 26 day cycle, so shouldn't be hormones. Who knows. I do wonder if MJ or looming perimenopause is messing with my cycles a bit. Usually I can see two humps every 26 days, for ovulation and period...

Incognitoburrito88 · 28/10/2025 21:28

@QS90 that sounds frustrating. My weight is also up 2lb this week… I’m a bit stressed about it. I’ve been titrating down to 3.75mg and not jabbed for 10 days. Still think I’ve been sticking to my normal meals and doing tons of exercise though so don’t feel my gain is warranted. Anyway, I’m going to ride it out until Friday and jab again then… someone on the maintenance thread has promised me it’s inflammation from all my exercise - I’m really hoping this is true!

@Pepperwaggytail thanks so much for recommending that podcast episode - I listened while I was cycling to work and found it super interesting. Definitely gave me stuff to think about in terms of preparing for coming off MJ completely.

Mumof2studentnurse · 29/10/2025 07:40

Morning, hope you are all doing well.

Week 29. I started on April 9th.
Start Weight - 21st 9lbs (303lbs)
Current Weight - 12st 9lbs (177lbs)
Weight lost this week - 10lbs
Total weight lost - 9st (126lbs)

Its been a tough week in my personal life, and i know that the vast majority of that weight loss is water weight so I'm expecting a stall or even a gain over the next couple of weeks as things balance out, so as much as I would love to be happy about it, the reality is, I would rather lose a couple of lbs of fat than 10lbs of water. I've been out walking a lot, but i've not done 10lbs worth of walking!

I will see what this week brings, but i'm mentally preparing for a stall/gain. I have two sets of scales. Electronic ones and mechanical ones, so I weighed myself on both to make sure my electronic ones were not broken.

Wishing you all well for the week ahead. :) x

Incognitoburrito88 · 29/10/2025 07:47

Omg @Mumof2studentnurse thats a colossal loss at this stage in your journey!! You’re nearly at 12 and a half stone!!! 🥳 I think you are wise to be preparing for a stall following such a big loss but try and remember how good seeing today’s number on the scales felt - even when you are still seeing it in two weeks time and are totally fed up with it!!! You are doing so well xx

RhaenysRocks · 29/10/2025 08:08

Can I ask which pharmacy people are currently using? I want to go up to 7.5 so looking to mitigate the price hike with a new order somewhere. I've been Curely since the start which been great but if i can save £50 I will. Pillsorted and Bolt look cheapest on Monj at the moment but any reviews welcome.
@Mumof2studentnurse you're doing brilliantly. X

Mumof2studentnurse · 29/10/2025 08:09

I've always been with medexpress - they are pricey but ive never had an issue @RhaenysRocks x

QS90 · 29/10/2025 08:24

Well, after my whinge yesterday, I've dropped 3.5lbs overnight. Must have ovulated late or twice. Regardless, that brings me to 159.4lbs and into a healthy bmi! Which was my goal ❤ Not sure yet what I'll do next, but am very pleased I must say.

10lbs this week is amazing @Mumof2studentnurse I remember you being a bit discouraged by slower losses recently, so looks like it's all dropped at once for you too. Funny how it goes like that! X

Uninvitedleaf · 29/10/2025 09:14

@RhaenysRocks I’m currently with Swift but used Pillsorted previously. No issues at all with either of them, I only swapped because Swift have a good reputation for supporting long term maintenance. I’m nowhere near that yet but thought it might be a good idea to get a relationship established while I was still above BMI 30 and it was easy to swap. Otherwise I’d just have stuck with Pillsorted!

I think I did once get an email to say my order would be delayed which panicked me a bit but then it came within about 48 hours anyway so I’m happy to recommend them.

I say this every month but I think i might finally go up to 7.5mg for my next one as well. I’ve got a couple of doses left in my current 5mg pen and I might take a bit more this week and see how I get on, then step up to the full 7.5mg next time. But if I follow my usual pattern I’ll probably see a pound or two loss on Sunday and change my mind 😂.

@qs90 thrilled for you 🎉🥳.

@Mumof2studentnurse that’s amazing. Keep thinking about how far you've come, 9st overall is incredible!

RhaenysRocks · 29/10/2025 09:23

@Uninvitedleaf thank you that's really helpful. Might bite the bullet today. I've just opened my last 5mg pen and feel like weight loss is v v slow.

SunnySpellsAhead · 29/10/2025 10:52

Congratulations @QS90, must be a lovely feeling, &@Mumof2studentnurse too!

I'm still with Oushk as I like choosing a delivery date in advance but keep hearing good things about Swift. @Uninvitedleafhow does their delivery work? Do you order and then it comes a day or so later?

SeaDippingandLattes · 29/10/2025 12:28

@QS90 i was planning on doing a couple of months maintenance but as the price hike has happened and i need extra funds atm for private medical appointments for one of my children I can’t justify spending money on the maintenance now - which is a real shame. I’m most worried about the hormonal aspect of coming off cold turkey and the impact on blood sugars etc. I wonder if like one of the healthy food ‘natural glp1’ shakes really do anything or not in terms of looking at that for maintenance. Anyone tried these or know about them?
@Mumof2studentnurse just checking you are doing ok? 10pound in a week (even with water weight) is a huge amount. I hope it’s ok to say this and I don’t mean to cause any offence but I hope that you are able to look after yourself with food, with everything that you have going on. Sorry that’s said rather clumsily but I just hope that you are feeling ok x

Uninvitedleaf · 29/10/2025 12:48

@SunnySpellsAhead usually it’s been next day delivery for me with Swift, but they use Royal Mail which can be a bit challenging as they don’t always come when they say they will here! I’ve never had any issues though, I think the one time I wasn’t in they redelivered next day and everything was still very cold.

Mumof2studentnurse · 29/10/2025 13:24

Hi @SeaDippingandLattes thanks for your message. I'm ok. I knew it was going to be a really rough week. It was a mix of sadness, worry, fear, despair, depression, anger, helplessness, hopelessness, stress and complete lack of input or control to the situation that involves my children...some days I walked for 4 hours without stopping, just unable to stop walking because it was the only thing that gave even the tiniest bit of relief from what was going on. I'm sure there will be a stall or a gain in the next couple of weeks - and that's ok. If im being completely honest with myself, up until he introduced her to my kids and moved her into the house we bought and shared together - there was always a part of me that thought he would be sorry, thought he would come back and tell me how much he regretted it and I would have forgiven him. So really, in the long term, hes done me a favour, because I would have forgiven him for anything he done to me, but for as long as I live, I will never forgive him for introducing my kids to the woman he cheated on me with...taking them to an arcade and having her sit with them on rides as if she was their mum...clearly i will still be carrying several of my feelings from last week into this week, but I know I will be ok. It was just a gut punch learning about it with less than 72hours notice of it happening

All of this to say - I will be ok and I appreciate your message x x

SeaDippingandLattes · 29/10/2025 13:44

@Mumof2studentnurse sending lots of love - what a bitch of a week and what a complete selfish bellend. I’m glad that walking could give you that little bit of respite. I hope this week is a bit gentler on you x

SaddlebagSal · 29/10/2025 14:03

I'm struggling a bit liking my body at the moment. When I was at my heaviest, I might have been fat but my curves were smooth and firm. Now I'm, well, wobbly and squidgy. My back is a bit dodgy today so after my shower this morning I got down on all fours to do some pilates exercises to release it, and made the mistake of looking down to see gravity doing it's worst.

I'm mid-50s so I should be realistic that I will not ping back to the shape I was in my teens, but sadly I'm feeling less confident with my clothes off than I did at my heaviest. Hopefully that will improve.

blanketsnuggler · 29/10/2025 14:39

I joined a gym today in preparation for coming off the jabs at the end of this year.
I actually enjoyed it! But time will tell if I keep going with it!
Part of my motivation to keep going is not to pile all the weight (4 stone) back on. Life is so much easier without such a massive stomach/body.

Do you mind me asking how long it took you to lose the weight?

blanketsnuggler · 29/10/2025 18:13

@Hanschristiananderson
Not at all.
I started on April 2nd weighing 96kg
and now weigh 71kg. I've got jabs to last me until Christmas so I'll hopefully loose a bit more by then.
My largest dose has been the 7.5 jabs which I'm on now. I've had some side effects of feeling sick, and burps/wind so didn't want to go up any more. I'm at the point now where I'm dreading taking the jabs as they make me feel quite ill. Even the smell of the wipes/medicine make my stomach churn, so I'm keen to come off the jabs.

fox919 · 30/10/2025 09:47

Forget to check in last week

CW - 10st5.6lbs (1.5lbs this week, 0.5lb last week)
total loss - 3st 6lbs
GW - 10st

hope everyone is well, will try and catch up with the thread later (not that I’ve been posting much for a while!)

Newmum110 · 30/10/2025 11:33

Hi All
It has been a long time since I checked in but I've been keeping up-to-date with everyone's updates on this. What a fantastic group of people ❤️
Original Weight 233lbs
Mounjaro Starting Weight 208lbs
Current Weight 151lbs
Goal 145lbs
Only 6lbs to go, I can't believe that I've lost 57lbs in the 29 weeks on Mounjaro, took me nearly a year to lose the original 25lbs.
This is honestly life changing for me & while incredibly expensive I can say it's worth every penny. Going to go to January on full doses (hopefully hit goal) then start moving back downwards in doses. Don’t know if I would be able to go it alone.
Best of luck everyone.
