Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Ah so glad I found you all! Thanks for the new thread @Uninvitedleaf 😊

Newmum110 · 18/07/2025 21:54

Thanks @Uninvitedleaf I had looked a couple of times trying to find everyone!!!! So happy with how things are going, 38lbs down in 14 weeks without over restricting at all. I actually glance at myself everytime I pass a mirror because I actually look really good!!!!! Still a bit to go before I have to worry about maintenance/investing in a new wardrobe!!!!

vl888 · 18/07/2025 22:07

I still have an irrational fear every time I step on the scales, that I’ll be back to my starting weight (in the space of a day 🤣)

QS90 · 18/07/2025 23:19

Didn't think I looked much different, but 4yo bought home a family photo today from his nursery's "family wall", because they've broken for the summer. And even I can tell the difference! Really quite stark, to when the photo was taken in March time.

Has anyone had any ulcers btw? I have an odd, painless one. Made the mistake of asking Dr Google about it. Will get it checked to be on the safe side next week, but just interested if it could be a side effect of MJ. I'm taking multivitamins, but intermittently when I remember, so I guess it could be a nutrient deficiency?

Pepperwaggytail · 19/07/2025 07:54

Just loving how positive this thread is!

I listen to the Zoe podcasts and there was one which was a summary of a longer podcast about glp1 medication … very positive. I’ve linked it below.

I was 10st 2.4lb this morning, so seriously thinking about maintenance. I’ve still not quite decided how I’m going to do this. I think once I’ve weaned off completely I’ll put a note in my diary to order a 2.5 pen every 5 months or so just to keep my from having to pile weight back on in order to restart!

Having said that- I might find it’s really difficult to maintain and I need to use a low level in order to not put weight back on! Time will tell.

I’m loving my new health and body so much, it’s probably going to be worth sacrificing other things to pay for a maintenance dose. This is the first time I’ve actually realised this.

I’ve got half a stone to go so also starting to think about maintenance.

but, I’m not sure you’ll be able to order a pen every 5 months. I don’t think the maintenance providers would let you have the long gaps.

Good for you. Thats a great loss. If someone asked you at Chritmas how would you feel about being over 2 stone lighter by the summer - I am sure you would have taken that? Thats nearly 30lb so over 1lb a week which means if you keep on track you will be more than 52lb down which is 4 stone - so well in the 12's.

I dont know if you have seen any of my other posts - but I do IF and low carb as well. I read that if you are post meno and hypothyroid (have you checked this?) which I am that you might need to work towards one meal a day (or a 4hr eating window) to boost your metabolism for a short while.

Oh that sounds like something I could look at! It took me a week or so to adjust to 18:6, but I’ve found it quite easy to push the window to 20 some days (not deliberately either, just due to work schedule etc) so I will give it a serious go!

I haven’t checked my thyroid either but will definitely chat with my GP…I have an appointment next week anyway about something unrelated so I’ll bring it up then.

Yes, you’re right, looking at ‘the bigger picture’ makes my slow journey seem not so bad after all! 🤣👌🏻 Thank you ☺️

Icebreakhell · 19/07/2025 10:25

Checking in. 3.75mg still.

SW 94kg
CW 76kg
TW 70kg

18 kilos down. I’m on the cusp of 11 stones range- amazing.
Had a lot of indigestion this week, ketones in urine. Blood pressure is super low 100/55- to the point I feel dizzy sometimes. So thinking of dropping back to 2.5mg.

On the upside, my plantar fasciitis has completely gone, skin is amazing, no dry skin anywhere. Cholesterol is low. Feel more energetic. It’s amazing stuff.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 19/07/2025 10:58

Thanks for the new thread @Uninvitedleafand welcome to new joiners 😊

I’ve had a weird few weeks where my appetite/desire for healthy foods has changed. This seems to have coincided with moving from 2.5mg pens to taking 30 clicks from a 5 mg pen 🤷‍♀️. However in this time I’ve also had the Mirena coil fitted so may be a hormonal impact…..

Has anyone noticed a difference by splitting higher doses?

W13 D1
SW:12.12 (BMI 30.3)
TW: 10.5 (-2.5 stone - BMI 24.2)

MiamiMimi · 19/07/2025 14:16

Week 12 and 15lb down for me, feeling a bit meh about that to be honest, I upped to 5mg last week so hoping that starts to make a difference 🤞

Wonderfulstuff · 19/07/2025 16:03

Can I ask a SE question - does anyone else suffer from restless legs at night? My sleep hasn't been great due to the heat (and peri night time overheating) and this on top is making it even worse. I'm ordering some magnesium but wondered if it's just a me thing or related to the mounjaro.

Im sure it will! If you get bad side effects I’d try splitting the dose and take 2.5mg every 4-5 days, that might be all you need to
do . 😊

Yes - it’s awful!
I find magnesium cream, spray and tablets all work, but also you might want to try gentle iron tablets. If I’m low on either mag or iron restless legs come back with a vengeance!
Exercise also can trigger it (running or heavy weights) but usually iron works straight away.

QS90 · 20/07/2025 08:20

Active Iron tablets are good, if you're taking iron @Wonderfulstuff Gentle on the stomach and absorb better, so you get more from a dose.

Uninvitedleaf · 20/07/2025 08:45

Weigh in day for me and only 0.2lb down this week.

I know I haven’t been drinking enough water and I’ve given into sugar cravings a couple of times so serves me right really. Need to do better this coming week!

20lb off in total over 14 weeks which is brilliant so I am focussing on that rather than the individual week losses.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 20/07/2025 09:28

Glad I found you all!

I’m officially 1.5 stone down today after 15 weeks. It’s a slow average of 1lb / week but I’ve not been this weight in 2 years so I’m feeling pretty good about it!

PhantomErik · 20/07/2025 10:13

Wk17 & another 1lb down.

SW 16.6
CW 14.7

Our kitchen renovation has finally finished! I'm really looking forward to eating better & hope I can get my weight loss back to 2lb per week. We're going on holiday in October & I would love to get at least another stone off.

I've just received my 2nd 7.5mg pen, I was going to order 10mg but have been very tired & had a fair bit of indigestion this last week so wasn't sure about going up. Hope I don't regret it like I did my 2nd 5mg. Oh well, fingers crossed!

Thanks for the new thread x

Squiffy01 · 20/07/2025 11:03

Thanks so much for the new thread.
couldn’t find it for a couple of days.

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 20/07/2025 12:42

One more dose this week of 5mg then onto my first 7.5mg. I’ve had a fair few SE, nothing major but hand eczema, two bouts of D&V and my blood pressure is down from an already low(ish) level so bending down and getting up quickly are both dizzy spell inducing.

Nothing insurmountable but also not going unnoticed. Weight loss has slowed to a steady 1lb a week with the occasional ‘plateau’ and then drop. I’ve noticed that drinking alcohol definitely slows loss considerably but unlike the first couple of months I’m definitely now able to tolerate drinking a bit more but still not drinking as much as I could prior.

Going to have to have another try on as although loss hasn’t been massive in last couple of weeks I seem suddenly smaller in my clothes and jeans have horrible wrinkles and folds where they are too big! Not a problem I think I’ve ever had before - a nice problem for sure!

So much better! I'm carrying the weight I have left, differently to before I put on three stone starting about five years ago - I've been through the menopause since so I think that has led to a redistribution of fat. I still have a very fat tummy 😁

Ha, yes I’m left with more of a tummy than I used to ever have. Bloody menopause!

Congratulations 🥳

I have today hit 25.0 🤣. 2 stones and 3lb off in total so very pleased although the last 2 weeks have been up and down 😖

I had a mini goal of 10.7 pre holiday and have 10 days to lose 2lbs to get there. Will have a focussed effort to achieve this!

Ive been trying to do regular Pilates to help with the meno tum but am only managing about twice a week at home at the moment. Figure this is better than nothing 😆

vl888 · 21/07/2025 12:40

Wow, Well done to you all hitting 'Healthy' BMI - great achievement 👏😀
