Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Can I ask how many have experienced hair loss? I’m really worried about this.

Squiffy01 · 23/10/2025 23:28

@Hanschristiananderson i have lost so so much hair!

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 07:01

@Hanschristiananderson i have lost 3 st and quite a bit of hair. No more than I did when I lost 2 stone doing Fast800 a couple of years back though. I’ve been in maintenance for a month now (still on 5mg) and it is slowing / has almost stopped. I can notice my hair is thinner but for me it’s worth it. From my previous experience it took about 3 months to stop falling out once I stopped losing weight. Anecdotally I’ve read that it should stop even if you continue to lose but this is the longest I’ve been in a calorie deficit for so I don’t have longer personal experience.

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:14

Morning!

I haven’t had a weigh in since 3 October. Did it this morning and I’m 3lbs down - now 10st 4lbs!

My SW was 13st 1lb so nearly 3stone! I’m now at my revised goal (I’ve said that before though - originally it was 10st 10, then 10st 7 and now 10st 4). On 3.75mg.

I have started to notice hair loss though. And I’m so bloody cold! It was a side effect when I started but then it was summer so I noticed it less.

I must admit I have no idea how to maintain or what to do really. I love the fact MJ just takes the pressure away and no thoughts about food. I wish I could stay on it forever.

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 07:17

My official weigh in today…

Been on MJ for 29 wks!

3.75 mg

SW 13st 7
CW 10st 6
GW 10st 7
BMI 22.9

I’ve been at goal for a month now and my conclusion is that maintenance is stressful and boring!

I dropped my dose to 3.75mg last weekend with no change in suppression etc. in fact suppression was high mon and tue. I did eat all of my tea last night which is unusual for me but it wasn’t a massive portion and I’m trying not to stress! I’ve had a lot more energy for exercise this week and have been conservatively eating back my exercise calories. I’m due to jab on sat eve but going to stretch it out until Sunday as we’re out for a meal on Saturday night. Depending how next week goes I might keep my interval at 8 days rather than 7… I would like to get down to 10st 4 though so not sure about this plan…

@Mumof2studentnurse been reading all your posts and feeling your worries. I’ve been listening to slimpod for the last month and I think it might be working… it’s hard to know with MJ on board too but I think it has made me want to exercise! It’s a neuro linguistic programming course - there’s videos to watch and stuff but at the heart of it you listen to a ten minute recording each night as you fall asleep… the first ten days are free so it might be worth you having a look. I am now paying for it because I think it’s targeting my emotional eating issues.

woke up at 5:45 this morning and knew I wasn’t going to get any more sleep before my alarm at 6:20 so I went for a run! Who even am I??? I’d like to do a marathon next year but maybe should master 5k first!!!

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:17

Oh and I’m on holiday next week so will be interesting to see how I go. I’m usually fairly active on holidays but then I like a drink too!

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:18

@Incognitoburrito88we are so bloody similar - it makes me smile when I see your posts!

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 07:19

@SquishyGloopyBum well done! I admire your laid back attitude. I’m weighing every day and constantly analysing stuff! Do you have to come off - I’m planning on staying on for at least another 6 months.

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:20

Ps, @Incognitoburrito88how did you get on with bra measuring?

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:23

I just got out of the habit of daily weighing! I’m all or nothing! Grin

Ive got enough to last me until after Christmas. I actually bought a 10mg pen last month - worked out it is the same as the old prices of 2x 5mg pens so it’s helped financially. Might do the same again if I can and then I’ll have a good supply to last me a while (I know you aren’t meant to but I’m happy with the risks).

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 07:23

@SquishyGloopyBum we keep cross posting! Was thinking how similar we are too. Do you think 10st 4 is as low as you want to go?

I still haven’t measured because I can’t find the bloody tape! It’s ridiculous but i know I bought a new one on Amazon to try and measure my height and I’ve put it somewhere ‘safe’ and now I can’t find it but I refuse to buy another one!! I might pick one up with the supermarket shop today because I do want to plug all my numbers into boob or bust!!

We do!!

If you are anything like me, you’ll find the tape measure as soon as you buy a new one. Do let us know how you get on!

I don’t know, I keep getting to my goal and then thinking it’s so much easier with MJ so I’ll just knock a few more lbs off.

when I lost weight years ago, I got to 10st but I was never able to stick at it long term and that’s my fear now.

so I think I’ll try stick to this for now and see how I get on. It’s odd having to shift my mindset.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 24/10/2025 07:50

@SquishyGloopyBum and @Incognitoburrito88 I am your triplet too 🤣. Started at 12.12 and original target was 10 7. Have just weighed and 10 3 (although have been stuck at 10 5 on weigh in day for 5 weeks 🤨. This is only BMI 23.5 so not massively in the normal weight category. I’m happy with my size, would just like to tone up a bit. Still plodding along with 2.5 and can get past Christmas and then think I’ll need to remove the crutch…. 🫣

@Mumof2studentnursesorry to hear it’s all still very hard for you - remember you can only control what you can control and wanker exes do not fit into that category 🤬. 6 years on and I’m about to go away for the weekend with a new man 😮

Re bra measure (can’t recall who asked!) the 32F is a bit tight but I’m hoping will give a bit. I’m still wearing the 34E for comfort days.

oh, and last week I changed from injecting into my stomach to my leg and have had a v good week, especially re no desire for alcohol so think that’s helped the weight shift this week. Just done today’s in my other leg

WinterOnItsWayOut · 24/10/2025 07:52

Oh and I’ve had a fair bit of hair loss but I have masses of it already so it almost looks better as less wild and bushy!

SquishyGloopyBum · 24/10/2025 07:55

Hello triplet! @WinterOnItsWayOut

Im only BMI 23.5 too but I’d never keep it stable at BMI 21. For me it feels about right, even though it’s towards the upper end.

it was me who asked about the bra! If the F is too tight, it might be that you need the FF cup - if the cup is too small you borrow from the band and that’s why it can feel too tight. People usually think they need to go up a band but it’s the cup really.

interesting about the leg! I still do stomach but might try it next week.

@Hanschristiananderson i have lost so so much hair!

That's enough to put me off to be honest.

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 09:26

Hi, hope it's okay to jump on and ask a question!

I'm currently active in the September starter group as I had my first jab on the 1st September. I've been on 2.5 for the last 2 months (8 jabs in total) and decided to buy a 5 pen to jump up for my next dose as I have been feeling very hungry.

Tonight's the night I was planning on taking my first 5 dose but i've been losing consistently since I started and have dropped a lot already.
SW: 12st 9
CW: 10st 6
Total loss: 2st 3

Today, i've lost a further 3lbs. My head is thinking i should stay on 2.5 until the losses slow down.

Thought id ask on this thread as you've all been going a lot longer!

If I choose to stay on 2.5, does anyone happily use it for the 8 weeks it would last as that seems way too long to be using a pen.

Any advice would be appreciated! 🤗

QS90 · 24/10/2025 09:40

Hi @JustPickleRick I've certainly used a pen for 7 weeks with no ill effect. I'm always careful to use the sterilising wipes on the red seal before using, and put the pen straight back in the fridge.

Presumably you don't have much left to lose if you are 10 stone 6?

Even if you go 5mg and stretch the pens, maybe consider tracking your calories to make sure you are getting enough. Also do make sure you get enough protein! Easy to ignore, but so important for conserving muscle (and therefore metabolism for when you come off).

Mumof2studentnurse · 24/10/2025 09:49

@Incognitoburrito88 I will def give slimpod a try - thanks for the suggestion :)

@WinterOnItsWayOut I hope you have a wonderful weekend x

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 09:50

@JustPickleRick you’ve had very rapid losses. I certainly wouldn’t have gone up if I had been losing at that rate. And yes presumably you don’t have that much left to lose. I agree with everything @QS90 had said really. I’ve used a pen for 6 wks with no issue but I would have a careful look at your nutrition to make sure you are getting enough food on 2.5mg. For context it took me 6 months to lose 3 stone and that felt fast to me!

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 10:24

Yes I agree, my losses have been rapid but i've been good with my eating!
I'm only 5ft 2 so my TDEE is 1200. Ive been eating around 1100ish each day and hitting 90g+ of protein daily. I drink 3 litres of water each day too.

I think staying where I am in for now is sensible so I may use 4 doses of 2.5 from the pen and a golden dose then just waste the rest. I'll try and order a 2.5 pen again next time.

My goal weight is 8st 9 which puts me right in the middle of a healthy BMI

Incognitoburrito88 · 24/10/2025 10:36

@WinterOnItsWayOut i think BMI 23.5 is fine - it’s such a blunt tool. I definitely need to tone up too. I have some loose skin around my tummy (four big babies so what do I expect) and I’m hoping a might be able to improve the appearance a bit. I’d like some arm muscles too! I’m hoping to titrate down to 2.5 then stick on it for quite a while. I’m soooo scared of regaining weight.

Very intrigued by all the bra chat. Must find that tape measure…

I wouldn’t waste the rest. I’ve found it fine to extend as long as it’s kept in the fridge. I’m doing it because it’s a much cheaper way of getting the medication.

well done on your losses!

JustPickleRick · 24/10/2025 17:05

Thank you! Thankfully, Asda were really quick approving a 2.5 pen for me this afternoon so I cna pick it up tomorrow. Means I can save the 5 for when I really am ready for the jump up.
