I just started mounjaro today.

I'm really interested to hear how much weight you have lost on Mounjaro.

I was bmi 30.5 at the start so was a genuine prescribe ( Your reply
implies different) - I am aiming for a slow loss of 3 stone. My back problems have gone as has my plantar fasciitis, adhd tendencies have reduced thsts to name just a few benefits , having been bmi 19 I have no interest in reaching that again, happy to be mentally and physically strong at bmi 24

Sorry @Whereissummer24 was not my intention to suggest you were not a genuine case!
your just list is similar to mine. Started with a BMI of just in the obese 30’something. Now at bmi 24.
in was also reflecting on what else MJ does for me and yes similar to you. Improved adhd / perimenopause symptoms as well as improved joint pains.

also Less alcohol consumption. (I would not have said it was excessive before but is definitely even more pared back now!)

64 pounds in 14 months. About 7 pounds to go. It’s slow going but I’m getting there!

That’s ok, I read it wrong I think. Yes alcohol has decreased for me too - I can’t explain how much better I feel it’s been life changing

Has anyone got any advice for me i am starting this weekend but I am so nervous. No idea what to expect with symptoms any tips etc would be much appreciated xxx

SilenceInside · 21/11/2025 20:10

@Summerluvin1 Read the paper patient information leaflets that come with the pen. That should give you an idea of what to expect. With symptoms, do you mean side effects? You might not get any, about 80% of people don't. Those that do, it's usually mild and manageable. So try not to be nervous.

There are long running threads on this section for those of use with more than 5st to lose, or more than 10st to lose if that applies to you. It can be useful to join in with those. Also, there's a couple of November starters threads you could join too. Some of the people there will have just started as well, or be two or three weeks in.

5 stone in a year, went up to a max of 10mgs. I've had no side effects at all but having reached goal its making me feel as sick as a dog all of a sudden and I literally cannot eat anything. I've been living on slimfast shakes. Im going back down to 5mgs and then 2.5 .is in the hopes I can eat again because things are getting desperate.

Are you staying on it beyond goal weight? I was hoping to be off it after my loss - by April hopefully 🤞

Six and a half stone in just under a year, been maintaining for nine months or so on 5mg, weight just under nine stone.

lynsey25100 · 15/04/2026 11:41

13 stone in 18 months.

13 stone is incredible, congratulations! Are you still losing or done now? I bet you feel like a different person. I know I do after losing half of that.

Thank you. I still have around 2 to 3 stone to go but I have lipoedema so not sure how much of that will go, unfortunately lipoedema fat doesn't shift with weight loss. I have been micro dosing for a few months now and just take 1.67mg every week, a pen lasts me 3 months and im still losing weight. I do feel like a new person, I think my head is still catching up with my body though. Im still scared to sit on chairs, still picking up clothes that are 4 sizes too big and still scared to look in mirrors but then I catch myself and go, oooooh ok, you are looking good! haha.

Eatinpeachesonthebeaches · 15/04/2026 13:12

2 stones in 6 months with another 10 pounds to target. I deliberately wanted to lose slowly as my hair is very fine and there's not much of it. Seems to be OK but I do take biotin and pumpkin seed oil plus a barrage of other supplements. I have supplemented since my early 30s though so that's nothing new.

Woo383040 · 15/04/2026 14:06

lynsey25100 That’s incredible. Well done. I’ve lost 3 stone, plus half a stone before I started MJ.
I note your very low maintenance dose, can I ask how high a dose you went up to? Do you think you’ve totally changed your relationship with food? I can’t imagine 1.67mg is doing much of the heavy lifting for you, so how are you managing it if you don’t mind sharing?

TwigletsAndRadishes · 15/04/2026 19:48

I'm now 2 years and 2 month in. Did the first 16 months on Wegovy then switched to Mounjaro. Did this because my weight loss started to plateau and I was still a way off goal. I had to start again on the lowest dose which was a pain, because it felt like months of time and money wasted. I don't tend to lose much at all until the higher doses kick in.

At my biggest I was 14 stone. At 5' 3" tall. I was struggling to fit into an M&S size 16 by that stage.

I got down to 13 stone by myself but then struggled lose any more so I went on the WLI.

Today I am 8 stone 8lbs and an M&S size 10. Could even be verging on a size 8 in some things. I feel at my perfect weight really, but I'd like to keep going until I am 8 stone. Then I can stop the WLIs and I'll have a buffer of half a stone or so to allow my weight to fluctuate, which I can hopefully manage without getting bigger than I'd like again.

So since the WLIs I've lost 4 and half stone, but it's 5 and a half altogether since my all time biggest.

I dont mind at all. I went up to 7.5mg but found it was making me feel really really nauseous for around 3 to 4 days, I put up with it for months but decided to drop down to 5mg, this was making me feel sick too so stopped for 2 weeks and then started again on 1.67mg ( my plan was to go up again slowly ) and it was crazy because it stopped the food noise and I was suppressed. So I have stayed on 1.67mg and continue to lose weight. I have completely changed how eat though. I wasnt in this for a temporary fix, it was a life change for me. It had to be. So I do eat really well and I dont eat chocolate ( my nemesis! ) at all, I just dont want it anymore, which is SO strange for me to say as I would often eat huge bars in secret ( I was a binge eater ) but now, chocolate does nothing for me! A miracle!

I have lost 5.5 stone in 15 months but have hovered around the 14 stone mark for the last 3 months - I am on 7.5 and cannot afford to go up but I have gone from a size 22/24 to a 14/16 in this time and I am so happy I am able to move so much better - I always weigh trained and have lost some strength but now am focusing on getting stronger rather than dropping pounds (but if I do I wont complain!) BMI 45 down to 33

Polly199068 · 16/04/2026 14:06

3.5st, done slowly on the 2.5mg dose with almost no side effects. Another stone to go.
