I'm really interested to hear how much weight you have lost on Mounjaro.

Has anyone noticed a slowing down in weight loss now it's getting colder?
I was doing quite well, losing 1- 2lbs a week since end of May
Since clocks changed I'm craving carbs, snacking in the evening and I've gained 2lbs this week. Maybe need to increase to 7.5mg

It’s likely a combination of wanting to be out and about less so less physical activity, comfort food and longer evenings leading to boredom/habit snacking, less inclined to drink cold water so reduced fluid intake.

Im definitely doing less walking, leaning towards comfort food and drinking more hot coffee which means less overall fluid as I just don’t fancy a bottle of water.

troppibambini6 · 17/11/2025 11:14

I’ve lost 4.5 stone. I’m 5”7 and 9 stone 11 im a size 10. It took me about a year.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/11/2025 11:18

I too have gained 2 pounds this week becsuse I ate bread. I don't normally eat bread but its bread and soup weather.
I've lost 5 stone and have half a stone to go. This last half stone is really hard. I can maintain ok but losing any more is really hard work.

Karatema · 17/11/2025 12:09

I’ve weighed today and I’m 69.9 kg. I’m over the moon to be under 70 kg but then I started at 80.2. I was on 5 mg for a short while but went back to 2.5 because 5 was making me stop eating at all because I felt sick all the time.

Whereissummer24 · 18/11/2025 21:38

Since March this year - 2 stone, very slow to avoid lose skin. Maybe another stone to lose but in no rush and don’t intend to come off it as the benefits aside from weight loss has been life changing

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/11/2025 21:57

Just over 5 stone since May

Thebigonesgetaway · 18/11/2025 21:59

6 and a half stone. BMI 32 to 20. I have been maintaining for about 7 months. Still can’t quite believe it sometimes when I get dressed.

HangryBrickShark · 18/11/2025 22:04

Started in Feb 2025 with injections, lost one stone and 9.5lbs. Have gone onto Wegovy from Mounharo to save money - on equivalent dosage.

Initially lost 1st 10lbs on slimming world then started weight loss injections. Have another stone to go to target weight.

frost8bite · 18/11/2025 22:07

Started in July at 90kg and I'm down 15kg. Not sure what my target is but I feel strong and I'm enjoying exercise, eating healthy and keeping hydrated. I'm not going higher than 10mg

strongermummy · 18/11/2025 22:10

Started the year at 80kgs.
started MJ mid Feb.
currently at 59kgs.
21kgs loss! Over 3 stone gone!!!
25% smaller!
from a size Uk 16 to UK10.
from obese BMI to healthy BMI

I feel fabulous

i may try to lose a few more kilos to get closer to the middle of the BMI healthy band and give myself some wiggle room!

I’ve also learnt a lot about how much I can eat every day. That I need to weigh myself daily to keep on top of it.

that using Mj is not a magic wand.
still need to work at it.

I didn’t really have side effects (until the hair loss!) except being cold.
I lost weight at the lowest dose. Never got to 10 only to 8.3. Now reducing my dose. To see if I can come off it.

has also helped adhd symptoms. And i am drinking Less too.
another side effect is my husband has lost weight too!!!
my next objective is to get stronger and fitter. My 2026 challenge.

Periperi2025 · 18/11/2025 22:11

40lb is 20 weeks.

7 weeks on 1.25mg, a few weeks on 2.5mg, then dropped back down to 1.875mg as I was finding 2.5mg too much (constipation, lack of energy, loosing 1kg+ per week every week when I was already down below BMI 30, hair shedding).

Goal weight (4 stone loss)

How long did it take you?

@Whereissummer24what else has MJ done for you? What are the benefits you cannot live without even if you do not need to lose weight?

strongermummy · 18/11/2025 22:35

DickDewey · 02/11/2025 19:18

I went from 188 pounds to (currently) 132, so 56 pounds (4 stone). I’m 5’8.5. My starting bmi was 24, it’s now 20. I think it took about 7 months.

Best thing ever. I hadn’t been fat for long, maybe one year properly porky and 3 years heading that way.

@DickDeweya BMI of 24 is not porky. If you are white it is usually considered a healthy BMI

Is there something about your risk factors that means 24 is unhealthy?

Shelly421 · 19/11/2025 06:45

Is this something you think youll be on for life?

Batoutofhellish · 19/11/2025 06:47

I am really really tempted but worried by the amount of people who feel they will be on it for life and the hair loss.

jan2310 · 19/11/2025 06:50

I’ve been on it since the beginning of August. I’ve lost 21lb. A lot less than many, but I’m happy with slow weight loss.

Well unless you’re going to be fat for ever, then weight loss is, if you were someone who suffered from it, something you need to endure, as it’s the weight loss not directly the drug, it’s also temporary and just excessive shedding.no one is going bald.

why would people who want to stay on it forever worry you? It’s a personal choice if you stay on or come off. And weight regain is the same for any diet, when people stop. Old habits creep in and the weight slowly goes back on, weight loss drugs don’t make you lose weight, dieting on them does.

so unless you wish to stay fat forever, I’m not really getting it.

Batoutofhellish · 19/11/2025 07:31

In the past, you’d go on a diet. Lose the weight and do your best not to put it back on. Having to inject yourself with a drug for life does not appeal to me.

I’m still confused, you’re not making any sense, you don’t need to stay on it for life. You can still “do your best not to put it back on” like before. As because as said, the drug doesn’t make you lose weight, dieting does.

If that’s the case why do so many people feel they need to stay on it beyond reaching their goal weight?

Batoutofhellish · 19/11/2025 08:22

Why do you think? Because they want the health benefits, ie improved cardio vascular, kidney liver function , improved blood sugar, insulin etc, reduced cancers, and because they have dieted and regained all their lives and know that like every other diet they did they will likely regain so don’t wish to stop.

over 80 percent of people who lose weight dieting regain it. And more. That’s a fact. Doesn’t mean no one should diet ever. The drugs don’t change you’re biology, no drug works when you don’t take it, you use the time on it to change eating habits, and if you feel you can maintain your new weight without it, you come off. Like stopping any other diet.

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/11/2025 09:42

@Batoutofhellish studies show that regardless of the method used to lose weight (surgery, medication, keto, slimming world etc) the majority of previously obese people will regain a significant amount of weight once they stop actively dieting/losing weight. The results following stopping Mounjaro are on par so far with the results from every other weight loss method. From my perspective, I understand that that is the likely model, I don’t want it to be so I accept that to prevent it I will take Mounjaro long term. Dosage will likely reduce, I may end up stretching it to be less frequent than once a week. I’m on it for T2diabetes and it controls my sugar levels really really well so any dosage changes will be closely monitored and on the advice of the diabetes team, but I don’t anticipate coming off it any time soon.

I was bmi 30.5 at the start so was a genuine prescribe ( Your reply
implies different) - I am aiming for a slow loss of 3 stone. My back problems have gone as has my plantar fasciitis, adhd tendencies have reduced thsts to name just a few benefits , having been bmi 19 I have no interest in reaching that again, happy to be mentally and physically strong at bmi 24

I’m also staying on, not because I think I will suddenly fall head first into a tub of Ben and jerrys if I come off but for these reasons:

i want the health benefits the drugs are proven to bring, reduced inflammation, improved blood sugar and insulin production, improved cardio vascular, kidney and liver function, reduced cancers, etc etc,

I also want to stay a healthy weight and not spend my life feeling deprived as I restrict food, or dieting, or seeing my weight inching up, I have had enough of that, and want to live with my appetite under control, with no health issues, no weight issues, and not struggle with it, I want to be able to socialise, have fun, go out for dinner, drinks and not worry about the effect on my waistline. I want to know the clothes that fit me now will fit my in a year or ten, and that I would have to always try to restrict to make that happen. And I want to feel good about my appearance.

I also can afford it. And I think in a few years the price will drop anyway. I fully accept that some folks will read that list of reasons and think not for me, I’d hate that and would never stay on, but it’s my choice, my gp is supportive, as are my family and I’m healthier than I have been in years, all my blood tests results were in the health range, they were far from that a year ago. When I was also on blood pressure medication, which is brutal, had sleep apnea , had high cholesterol, and was bordering on pre diabetic. Now I’ve none of those issues. I sleep a solid 8 hours a night, my bp is healthy and doesn’t need medicated and my cholesterol is very healthy as is my blood sugar.

when faced with this choice, my choice is to stay on a lower therapeutic dose and maintain this, and I absolutely know, it is a million times better than a life time of blood pressure meds,
