I just started mounjaro today.

I'm really interested to hear how much weight you have lost on Mounjaro.

3st since mid-Feb 25. I'd never have managed it on my own.

DBatteryBand · 03/07/2025 13:30

2 stone in 8 weeks. I do have an awful lot to lose, though.

winnieanddaisy · 03/07/2025 18:10

I was commenced on mounjaro by my diabetic nurse last November . I have had no side effects except constipation, which I have anyway due to medication .
so far I have lost 3.5 stones and have gone from 16 stone to 12.5 stones . My bloods are back to normal too . I am now on 10mg which I will stay on due to my blood sugar levels being stable .
I didn’t get weighed for the first 4 months but when I did I had gone down 3 dress sizes ! All my winter leggings and baggy tops went straight into the bin and I bought lots of lovely summer dresses , cut of pants and lightweight tops went straight. I’m need to lose about 2.5 more stones but I’m in no hurry.
I went on holiday in June to Crete and still managed to lose 6lbs . I just get weighed on the last day of each month so that I’m not obsessing about each pound . Good luck with your journey .

I've been on MJ since January and have steadily lost 4 stone (15 stone down to 11).
It's took 'til last month's increase to 12.5mg to feel that it was really working for me (I have zero food noise and I no longer have the God awful side effects).
I don't actually want to lose much more weight as, although at 5'8" and 11 stone, I'm the heavier side of a healthy weight, I think (for me) I might struggle to draw the line/know when to stop.

Are you drinking water? I find if I don’t drink water I don’t loose as much. Also many has reported they don’t loose until higher doses . For reference I lost 3.5 kg in first two weeks but less then 0.5 kg in week 3-4 . 5mg worked well for me 4 weeks when I lost the most so far In a 4 week period (now week 16 and lost 15.4 kg)

FancyNewt · 04/07/2025 02:24

I've lost a stone in 8 weeks

LauriLei · 04/07/2025 02:56

5 stone in total now 😁 I went up to 15mg and once I got to target I went back down the doses and maintain on 2.5mg.

The NHS, along with other health organizations, typically recommends aiming for a weight loss of 1-2 pounds (0.5-1 kg) per week. Above 2lbs per week is classed as rapid weight loss. Tempting as it is, don’t compare yourself to others- we all loose at different rates.

ShiftAMountain · 04/07/2025 09:19

Been on it since Sept 24 (40 weeks).

81.5lbs lost so far. About another 15 to go, I reckon.

Justcashnosweets · 04/07/2025 09:31

3 weeks in and I've lost 2.5kg. Slow and steady for me, but I'm happy with that.

thesugarbumfairy · 04/07/2025 09:45

Just over 5 stone. I've been on it for 13 months now. I'm still technically overweight, and it took me longer than some to lose it, but I'm a size 14 and happy to carry on losing a lb a month if it gets me to goal. I love not being fat. I don't love my loose skin but my joint pain is considerably less now. I think I may have postponed my second hip replacement by a good few years.

pippapumpkin · 04/07/2025 10:02

About 5.5 stone, started in August last year so been on it almost a year. I have one more stone to go to hit goal and a BMI of just under 25.

I’m 5ft7 and gone from size 20 to a small 14 / large 12. Started at 17.5 stone and now just about to creep under 12 stone.

It’s been amazing not feeling terrible about myself in the warm weather. I used to dread summer but loved it this year.

TwigletsAndRadishes · 04/07/2025 10:18

I've just switched from Wegovy to Mournjaro and have yet to take my first dose. Obviously I have to go back to the lowest dose which is annoying, as it took until the highest dose of Wegovy for me to start losing any significant weight. But then it plateaued and I stopped losing before I'd reached my goal.

Has anyone experienced much quicker results on Mournjaro on the lower doses compared to Wegovy? I don't fancy going backwards for three months.

Yes, I did a couple of months of Wegovy last year. Lost a few kilos the first month and then nothing the second (and had horrible constipation) so gave up. Mounjaro is way better. 7kg off in the first month on 2.5mg. 5 kg in the second month on 5mg, and then about 3-4kg per month for the next couple of months on either 5mg or 7.5mg. Fewer side effects too.

Great, thanks, let's hope it does the same for me. Since Christmas my weight has barely budged. I've been on Wegovy for 17 months and around six or seven months (a couple at the beginning and the last few recently ) have done very little at all. Virtually all my loss has been in the middle months.

And yes, the constipation is awful, as is the disruption to my sleep as my body decides it will finally be ready to release the poo at around 3am twice a week!

WoolerOwl · 04/07/2025 18:20

@TwigletsAndRadishes Hope it works for you too. On MJ, I found that the discipline of drinking a lot more water, plus electrolytes faithfully every morning, and psyllium husk with dinner, and magnesium citrate before bed has really worked for me with the constipation and the sleep.

waitingforlifeonmars · 04/07/2025 19:37

Can I ask about skin left over after weight loss- I’m concerned I’ll have flappy skin on my arms and legs. I have really really dry menopausal skin. I have been taking collagen (whether it works I’ve no idea!). Last time I lost loads of weight (over a decade ago) I ended up with a belly with crinkly skin. I’m even bigger now!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 04/07/2025 19:40

I've lost 7st 10lb. Started 18 months ago.

Just over 2st to go now!

Would you mind sharing which electrolytes you use and what dose of Magnesium citrate please?

WoolerOwl · 05/07/2025 22:22

Yes, of course. 500mg magnesium citrate complex. And I use the Zero electrolyte tablets, mango flavour. They come in a cylindrical plastic tube. You dissolve one in 750ml water. They’re sugar free.

Start at beginning of Jan and lost 5 stone so far. I still have 3 stone to go but hair loss is making it look like I'll need to stop soon 😪
