Just looking at the pictures again and honestly, everyone has done so so well.

I cant believe its been a year/nearly a year for most of us! Time literally fly's by!

I would share a picture but I did recently so dont want to hog the screen!!

Other news, Iv dropped down to 7.5mg for the first time and I'm going to see how I get on, I still want to shift the last stone so I'm hoping it still works as well as the 10mg! but I want to reserve my stash!

I feel exactly the same, done an 8mg and a 7.5mg but haven't lost but haven't gained. I was eating bigger meals when I was away and more carbs so it could be that. Really need to start some exercise to tone up. I have 2 x 10mg pens in fridge to use next, contemplating doing 9mg for a balance and to get an extra dose out.
Did we see a before photo of you??

Wow that's amazing, such a difference well done 👏 how much have you lost altogether?

Histoscientist · 01/10/2025 18:59

It's my year anniversary tomorrow so I've done an updated photo with my other photos. My latest is only 2.5lbs lower than my most recent but I do see a difference between them!

6 stone 2lbs so far.... I started at 16st 11lbs and I'm currently 10st 9lbs.
15lbs to go! That will mean iv lost a 100lbs too. Hoping to do it by Xmas realistically as I'm only shifting about 1lb a week at the moment. I haven't been to the gym either since I started😅

I go away to Cornwall tomorrow until Sunday evening with my husband and kids so I although normal weigh in is Saturday morning I may move it to tomorrow morning.

I think there's a huge amount of difference in those 2.5lbs!! You can defo see it!

My anniversary is the 11th..... Such a good idea to do it exactly one year apart.

I know it's very weird! Maybe I've had fat redistribution that some talk about. I had exercised a few weeks ago and walked a lot last week while away but other than that I can't explain how 2.5lbs resulted in that visible change.
Enjoy Cornwall! We've had warm weather this week so hope it continues for you!

I think the weather is supposed to be rubbish but it will be ok as the arcades & Oasis pool will be indoors ha ha

Weighed this morning and iv lost 2lbs!!! most iv lost in weeks!
I have a pair of size 8 jeans from primark in my wardrobe, brand new that I bought yearrrrrs ago in the sale. Do I dare try them on soon ha ha

Anyone else think its crazy that there is a Oct 2025 starters group now?! I know its been a year but that really highlights it.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 03/10/2025 13:26

I went down to 7.5mg this week and not sure if it was a mistake for this specific week!

I'm on the week before my period and every single month around this time I still think of food more, even with MJ! Its not as bad as life without MJ though😚

I have thought about food a bit too much today for my liking at its only 1.30pm! Iv had 3 mini chocolate bars from the kids stash which is about 300 calories and 350 calories on a breakfast roll this morning. I need to reign it in before tonight!

Yeh definitely, it did make me ponder and felt a bit strange too of how quickly a year has flown!
Well done on the 2lbs loss, have you been doing anything different?
There's a storm here at the moment in the North East, England.
I'm looking into cryolipolysis to get rid of stubborn tummy fat as it destroys fat cells, as I'm generally happy with the rest of my body.
It's my 2nd week on 7.5mg too and I'm hungrier but I'm tracking everything. It is easier to snack. I think I'll try 2 x 5mg a week to avoid the highs but also give a decent dose as I want to drop down a few more pounds.

fourquenelles · 04/10/2025 10:48

First week on Wegovy (top dose of 2.4 mg) after a 2 week break whilst on holiday where I put on 10lbs without really piggy out - long coach trips so lots of snacking on high calorie treats (like maple flavoured nuts!). So 5lbs lost bringing me back to where I was at on 13 August this year at 13st 3.5 lbs from a starting point a year ago of 17st 10lbs and 18st 6lbs at my heaviest before starting Mounjaro.

I am finding that the food noise suppression on Wegovy so far is not as strong as Mounjaro; I am getting the munchies in the evenings but hoping that this will increase as I get used to the medication. My appetite is still reduced and I have trained myself over the year to not feel I have to finish all the food on my plate and to recognise when I am full.

I wore a dress for the first time in donkey's years on holiday with no chub rub. My local charity shop has a £1 rail and I have been getting some fabulous stuff there including a wool Wallis maxi skirt that is going to be great for winter. Being an old gimmer I do have a fair amount of loose skin especially on my bingo wings but long sleeves are the way to go.

Onwards and downwards hoping to be under 30 BMI by Christmas if not sooner.

I think it's common to gain weight on holidays, especially if you've been sat on a coach for hours with not much else to do! Lots of people snack when bored.
Ive definitely heard wegovy takes 2-3 weeks to kick in, doesn't sound like it's instant. I've got 2 x 10mg pens left and have ordered 1.7mg wegovy to move on to, hoping will stop hair loss and resolve the low energy and motivation.

Histoscientist · 04/10/2025 12:32

I finally dropped half a lb, having not shifted for 2.5 weeks stuck at 61kg, at least I hadn't gained and I was away on a course for a week eating a lot more food with free meals throughout the day!

I'm now 9st 8lbs bmi 23.7 have lost 3st 7lbs since I started my journey at 13st 1lbs bmi 32.4 and prediabetic.
Nice way to round off my full year on mounjaro!

EVK · 05/10/2025 09:24

Well ladies - I love all your amazing before and after pictures 🩷 I will try to figure some out of me but I didn’t keep my before pics for going on MJ because as I hated them so much! I’m so happy for everyone, a year on and the success is phenomenal.

Today is my year anniversary of starting MJ - I’ve been completely off and maintaining on my own since July 28th so about 9weeks. I’m thrilled as today I’m 8.6lbs which means I’m a 1lb below my target weight. I’ve lost 4lbs this week!! I think for me a lot of the fluctuating is due to if I’ve had a good poo or not 🤣😅 However, I’m thrilled that without MJ I’ve managed to lose 4lbs in a week and that maintaining without MJ, now that I’m where I want to be, is good and isn’t as hard as I thought it might be- I just stick to my new established habits, I do eat more, all the good stuff and it’s not resulting in weight gain. I’m not getting terrible cravings or food noise but I do get hungry. I tell myself that’s normal and I eat - but healthy food. No rubbish, biscuits, cake, alcohol, crisps etc at all!! I don’t eat carbs except for sweet potatoes and other veggies (not white potatoes) and that seems to do the trick for me. My little pleasure is an Ancient and Brave collagen hot chocolate with full fat milk and a few squares of Lindt sea salt dark chocolate !! I have that quite a lot 🤣

Start weight 11.6lbs and now 8.6lbs - my weight loss is small compared to many of you but I’m so happy I did it.

My goal now is to maintain and maybe lose an extra 1 or 2 lbs for Christmas so I can relax a little for a couple of days. This is the new me for life and I’m happy about it - I never want to go back to binging and eating crap! You’re all my witnesses!! Thanks so much for the wonderful support and Keep going everyone- you’re all amazing 🤩

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 06/10/2025 07:57

Morning all.

Week 50
SW 17'10
CW 13'2

3rd of 10, after dropping down from 15.

Still at 13'2 so STS this week, but we were away the weekend, ate crap and I drank a bottle of red Saturday night 😬

I am really struggling with suppression, particularly around snacks and its harder to resist as the weeks go on.

Unlikely I will gwt to my target of under 13 stone, but will plug away with the next 2 jabs and fingers crossed!

HappyNewt · 06/10/2025 10:00

So, it will be a year since I started at the end of this week.
10 inches off both waist and hips..
Feel so greatful...and great.
I've started C25K again to get back into running, and gym membership is up and running too.
Weight still staying the same...my focus now is on toning up and losing the remaining belly!! But I'm still weighing for accountability
I'm going to bin what is left in my pen as I've gone over 30 days titrating down and honestly dont think 2.5 is having any effect...I guess we will see about that.
Hoping I can attach my one year apart before and after pics taken in our dingy lit loo.
What 25kg off a shortie looks like!!!
Keep up the good work everyone!!

@HappyNewt You look amazing, you can really see your waist!! Are you on MJ anymore or are you off it?

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 I was away on the weekend too and I ate far more then I should have, when I do that I normally spend the 2 days after reallly cutting back so today is a very low calorie day for me today! another low calorie day tomorrow and then I evaluate the damage! I'm hoping then for a STS at least when I reweigh!

@EVK You are doing amazing without MJ! a real inspiration to us all that it indeed can be done. I love the lindt sea salt caramel chocolate.

@Histoscientist well done on getting half a lb off! Its so hard now to lose much in one go.
Whats cryolipolysis?
I think the only thing different this week (to get 2lbs off) was I controlled everything I ate, for the couple of weeks prior iv been at work events so less healthy choices available.... plus its free food, I still find it hard to resist food when its free!

HappyNewt · 06/10/2025 18:30

@Fizzleawayyy1
Thanks! Yes, face on instead of being round, I'm definitely going in, which was really good to see. And a bit of a suprise too as clearly all I see when I look at myself is what still needs work on.
Side on I had become super wide...it was what upset me most if i caught sight of my reflection...big bum and round out front too with an overhang!...I've lost a lot from my bum and back. I've also lost a good bit off my front.
But, I'm kind of pleased that there is still room for improvement as this should be something that I can effect a good change to over the next 3 months of running and gym along side everything else I've been doing. I'm hoping that will be really motivational to then keeping on with a new way of living going forward long term. All about building good habits!!!
Effectively I am now off MJ last 2.5 last Monday...tbh the last jabs of x2 2.5 and x2 5 before that didn't feel like they were affecting me much...and I've stayed about the same weight now for about 2 months..
I could still lose up to about 5kg but I'm more focussed on getting fitter, stronger and toning up until the end of the year. I know where I'd like to get the cm's down to so those are the numbers I'm chasing now 😂
I'm curious as to how the next pictures will look comparatively. I'll probably take some in Jan.
Reading everyone's updates over the year have been so helpful.
(I do hope those who dropped out of the group are all OK - adverse side effects were always my big fear, and that is why Im I'm ditching what is left in my pen.. I'm happy and I don't think it's having much effect at the low dose so why risk another two just because they are there??)

Histoscientist · 06/10/2025 19:15

@Fizzleawayyy1 yes I know work events well having been on one for 4 days week before last! I lost another half a pound Sunday morning so dropped 1lb last week which wasn't bad as I ate a fair bit of carbs. I'm now 9st 7.4lbs bmi 23.6, my target is bmi 23, which is then classed as normal for my enthnicity. I wouldn't have been bothered getting to that had I not been prediabetic. But I want to get myself a fighting chance for when I eventually come off.
Out of interest what calories do you stick to on a low calorie day and what about standard days?
Cryolipolysis is a machine which freezes and kills fat cells permanently, apparantely losing weight just shrinks them and as I'm an apple shape I want to try it on my belly. Obviously you would need to follow a healthy diet otherwise can gain fat cells but if going to maintain for a while then that might be what I need as I'm happy with the rest of my body now, just my tummy I'm not. I've got a session booked in for end of October, the salon near me is doing an offer for 3 sessions for £150, its usually 100 per session. I've looked at many before and afters on Google and they do look really good and even follow up of 6 and 9 months showed maintenance.
@HappyNewt what kind of side effects have you had? I've had terrible hair loss which gets worse when I eat low cals, Like yesterday I had 1000 cals and I've had a lot of shedding last night and today but that's not low compared to some of my days, the hair loss is still there when I have high calorie days like 1300-1500 calsso it must be the mounjaro.

HappyNewt · 06/10/2025 22:59

@Histoscientist super lucky to not have had any side effects really other than being cold from Nov through to spring! But before starting I was really worried about the potential for all sorts of side effects.

Actually I have felt really good right the way through and this time last year I felt pretty rubbish after having had my 4th bout of covid last Aug follwed by another flu thing which turned to a crackly lung and antibiotics last sept..So I'm hoping that good health continues.

I have heard a lot of people with the hair loss, personally I've always been able to eat ok so I dont think my calories have ever dropped super low which may have helped and my weight loss isn't as big as some and I'm now at the top end of the healthy BMI. I hear that people rate collagen for great hair, nails, joints etc.

I haven't tracked calories as I dont know how.
I just eat healthy protein, veg, salad, fruit, nuts etc, smaller portions, no snacking, v little white carbs, hydrate and I am generally very active, but upping the exercise now! I didn't go above 10mg as I didn't want too much suppression, as i wanted how I was eating to be sustainable. I'm sure I would have lost more weight had I gone up the doses more, but I haven't told anyone I've been on the jabs so I think I was probably afraid of losing too much...mostly people ask if I've changed my hair 😂 or say Iook well which I take.

Im the same as you...just need to work on shifting the belly and muffin top!!!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 07/10/2025 11:49

@fourquenelles Interesting to hear what you say about wegovy. Love a bargain outfit! I never find anything at the charity shops though sadly!

@HappyNewt I think we all make the mistake of pointing out everything we still think is wrong instead of admitting how far we have come. I'm the same.
I think Jan would be a good time to take more pics. It gives enough time to see the changes.
Iv also been freezing since I started MJ, iv always in jumpers now! Lucky I never binned my old smaller ones and they all fit again now. I also never went above 10mg. Iv just dropped back to 7.5mg for my last stone too!

@Histoscientist I feel your pain, we class this as our 'conference season'... I'm going to one next week for 3 days, but I'm helping at that one and not running it and then Halloween week I'm going to another 3 day one!
That should be my last one for the year! 🙏
I want to be 9st 7lbs!! ha ha That's pretty much my goal weight!
So really low calorie days are probably around 500 calories a day BUT I only do that if iv overate at a conference/weekend etc. I think I roughly did about 800 calories yesterday though!😑
Normal cal days are around about 1000, give or take, I dont calorie vegetables either, as far as I'm concerned vegetables are free food 😆
Good luck with your Cryolipolysis! let me know how it goes!
Iv also had hair loss!! 😭😭😭Oh well.

I'm just about to eat some lunch, first thing I would of ate today and that is pepper sticks, slices of ham and 2 x boiled eggs with salad cream! Yum.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 07/10/2025 14:25

I dont think iv ever posted a side on picture of myself. @HappyNewt inspired me.

@Fizzleawayyy1 wow you look great!
Yes I'm 9st 7 but I'm only 5ft 3 so still only bmi 23.6! My neighbour hasn't seen me in months and keeps calling me a skinny minny lol she was shocked lol she knows I was on the jabs but hasn't seen me since summer.
500 calories is very low, I would probably pass out on that! Ive gone down to 750 cals at the lowest when I was on 15mg and it was too strong but had very little energy. I can see how some can lose faster with little calories. I do get down to 1000 but it's a struggle if I'm working and have a 2.5-3hr commute a day on top and I'm exhausted!
That is a healthy lunch but with decent protein. On a weekend I don't eat lunch until 3-4pm and just have a coffee around 10-11am as the suppression is usually higher!
@HappyNewt your diet sounds fine, you don't need to track and to be honest I feel like I'm too obsessed with it all. I weigh daily and get disappointed if I don't lose or go up half a lb even!
@EVK well done on mainting since July 👏 good to know it can be done!
