Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

I also can’t believe I am writing this but you’re the only people I can ask as nobody else knows I’m taking this, but has anybody suffered with piles?!? I am for the first time ever and I can only put it down to the toilet issues I am having maybe?? Like diarrhoea for few days, constipation for few days 🫠

Yes @Outsidebeanshop never had them before I started MJ. Probably about a month In I got one. Anusol cream sorted it in about 5 days and it's never come back. Was really sore though!

i love your username 😂 yeh it’s been 5 days and I’m starting to see some improvement after constant anusol hc and Epsom baths but omg what an experience, hopefully just a one off 😩

Weigh in day for me.

just the 1lb down this week. But progress is progress!

SW:19st10
CW:17st1
GW: 11st7

total loss: 2st9lb (37lb/16.8kg)

I’m happy with this. Last weekend I was away, didn’t do my daily weigh ins and ate out a lot. When I came back I’d had a small gain so to finish the week with a loss, however small is positive.

I have such a long way to go on my journey that I have to just be positive about it all.

Fatmumslim01 · 21/06/2025 14:12

Moving on from piles 😂 I've just had a lovely lunch!

I've started watching a few YouTubers on MJ if anyone has anymore recommendations let me know i like watching "babbling by the brook" and "my lifes toil". Babbling by the brook showed this humuus plate and I've copied it.

So it's a blob of hummus spread on a plate (I had harissa hummus) then pile small chipped cucumber, pomegranate seeds, and some cubes of feta (I buy the apatina (?) ready cubed ones in a tub) then serve with crackers or whatever you have. I really enjoyed it and I love getting new ideas. Never had pomegranate seeds before they were only £1 for a tub in Asda and I think I'll be picking at them all afternoon they sort of pop in your mouth and I love sensory things like that. I remember someone on here talking about mouth hunger rarher than stomach hunger and its so true! Pre MJ so much of my eating would be because I wanted something in my mouth as an emotional crutch. MJ has cured that but im still loving these pomegranate seeds 😂

I have finally broken a four-week stall. Phew! I should have gone up sooner but I'm so keen on sticking to the lowest possible dose that I stalled myself 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, lesson learnt and moving down again.

SW: 16 stone
CW: 14 stone 1.5
GW: 10 stone
5'7

What mg are you on now? I’ve just ordered a 7.5, have been on 2.5 & 5 until now. Like you I have wanted to stay on as low a dose as possible but I feel like it’s time to move up

@TryForSpring I had a 3 week stall a few weeks ago. I was on 5mg and was debating going up to 7.5 but I still had a few doses left in the 5 pen. Anyway I didn't do anything different and the next week I lost 3 pounds, and have since lost another 2 so it was a random stall, I never ended up ordering the 7.5 I actually ordered another 5 and am feeling really settled on 5 now I've been on 5 for 7/8 weeks now and I'm finally in the last 2 weeks starting to feel the suppression is lasting all week rather than the day 5/6/7 ravenous hunger I was getting previously even though it's the same dose. Weird hey??

TryForSpring · 21/06/2025 15:43

I'm doing split doses, @Outsidebeanshop, 2mg every 3 or 4 days, so 4.5 ish mg per week now. Basically I am making it as complicated as I possibly can for myself 🤦🏻‍♀️ I am prone to a bit of overthinking...

It is all so unpredictable, @Fatmumslim01!

Yellowsubmarine55 · 21/06/2025 17:12

These are the psyllium husks I take, 2 a day.

https://amzn.eu/d/cVc03yn

Love the idea of mini goals. I have 18lbs until I'm in the overweight category on BMI thing. Seems a long way away ☹️

Fatmumslim01 · 21/06/2025 17:34

@Yellowsubmarine55 my first mini goal is to get to 11-7 (started 14-7) so would be a 3 stone loss and that would be a BMI of 32 I think, down from 40. I'm currently 13stone exactly. So I've lost 21 pound so far so it's another 21 to first mini goal.

Then next goal will be 11stone exactly which will be a BMI of 30. I may decide to maintain then. I have a final goal of 9-7 in my head but I may decide to stick at around 11 stone, I'll see when I get there!

It's hard though when some people's starting weights, are my goal weight 😱

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 21/06/2025 21:02

@Fatmumslim01 Just to say I started at 13st 4lbs and only had a BMI of 30.7 I think.

Everyone had a different goal weight, I looked at my NHS app and in 2018 I was 8st 9lbs it is subjective I would still be in a healthy weight at 7st 10lbs. Please do not compare yourself to other which I know is easy to do.
I could say that I want to lose 5st but I know I will never get there.

We are all different please do not compare yourself we will all be cheering each other on I am sure in a years time I know I will.

@Fatmumslim01i understand but I started 5 stone heavier than you and have the same initial goal. So you’re not the longest distance runner here.

Morning all, I've been awol firca while and see the new thread is moving as quickly as ever! Weigh day for me

Wk 14 - 2lbs
SW 17st 2.
CW 14st 9
GW 11st 7

Things really slowing down for me now with 3st to go still.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 22/06/2025 07:48

I did it! I walked up a mountain! Took me nearly 4 hours to go up; 3 to come down and then an hour to get back to the car - I'm bloody knackered but I did it - massive NSV. My knees ache, my back aches, my calves may never forgive me but I was 1000 metres up and I feel a little euphoric 🤣

CFCmum · 22/06/2025 08:55

Lovely to catch up on how everyone is doing I have been missing for awhile as work and life have been hectic!
well done everyone 🎉

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 22/06/2025 08:59

NSV - did my measurements. Another 6 inches down, 1.5 from waist. 24.5 inches in total since March!

Amazing!! Well done! Where did you go? I do a lot of walking but very flat here would love to do some hills/mountain.

lilymty · 22/06/2025 09:45

Weigh in day for me & I lost another 2lbs so now only 3lbs off my first big goal of 50lbs.
Yesterday we hosted a bbq & there was so much food but i was so proud of myself for sticking to my calories for the day. I have been doing 45 clicks of the 5mg pen but decided to try 50 clicks today as I feel I need to up it a little.

TheBossOfMe · 22/06/2025 10:20

@Fatmumslim01 Bloody hell, you've done so well, 21lb so far is amazing. As @TheSpoonyNavyReader says, we're all different, and will all be cheering each other on a year from now.

@mumofmanydaughterofone How fab! I love hill walking, but my calves don't so much, oddly I find coming down the mountain as hard as going up. Go figure!

@lilymty Well done, bbqs are danger zones for me as well.

Still feeding up the teenagers here (food bill has gone through the roof!), but weight is holding steady in spite of calorie dense food. I've been very mindful about plate composition, not having second helpings etc. The hot weather helps, although the need for ice cream not so much! It's giving me a lot of hope though that maintenance isn't going to be as hard as losing was, although we'll see what happens once I start titrating down next week. I'll skip my second split dose tomorrow and only take 5mg on Thursday. I've usually been good at maintaining even at heavier weights though, my issue has been rapid weight gain over short periods of time, usually when life events spin out of control.

Life is chaotic at the moment trying to juggle work, my own DD and elderly mum, plus two extra teenagers and all the stuff that comes with their mum being unwell, lots of authorities involved and processes to deal with because of what's happened (which also involves the very drawn out and horrible death of her husband, so a funeral to plan on top of everything). Usually that kind of chaos and stress been a huge trigger for me piling weight on through comfort eating/not having time to cook so having loads of takeaways/not finding time to exercise/deprioritising self care - essentially doing all the wrong things because life is overwhelming and stress is high. Although I've got a job to do getting these teenagers back to a decent weight (they're getting there fast now, which is great to see), I've been really mindful about not letting the chaos overwhelm me this time, so am really proud of the fact that I've not only managed to get to goal whilst all of this has been going on, but am holding steady within my +2/-2 range. I'm actually still around the -2 mark. Will probably end the week exactly at goal. That's a bloody miracle given everything that's going on right now. I look a bit haggard though!

Bipaloss · 22/06/2025 10:24

weigh in day for week 14 completed

SW 115 kg / 18.1 st
CW 100.6 kg / 15.8 st
GW 11-12 st

after a 1 lb loss last week this week ended with a 0.4 lb gain

not surprised 1 water retention because of the weather (the scale was at 99.8 kg on Tuesday ) 2 on third jab of 7.5 mg which is working not so good . Taking my 4th on Wednesday then onto 10 mg the following week

just frustrating to have another plateau after a good loss , just want to get under 100 kg and have a long way to go

northernlight20 · 22/06/2025 10:30

After a loss of only 08lbs last week, very shocked to get on the scales and weigh 98.6kg!!! Haven’t weighed less than 99kg in 8yrs.
sw 114.4kg
cw 98.6kg
mini goal of 95kg by the 11th of July for our family holiday ✌🏼

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 22/06/2025 10:32

So this morning TOTM arrived finally!
I took my last 7.5ml on Friday and also injected the golden dose as I wanted to go up to 10ml as I have been on 7.5ml for 8 weeks. So gawd knows what I actually took, the suppression is unreal and I had a small glass of wine yesterday as we went out and today I feel and look like I have been hit by a train.
I was also sick this morning which was fun.

If I do not loss this week I will be gutted to put on 4lbs in 2 weeks I was 1lb lighter yesterday and not do anything different to before is really playing with my head. It feels like I am wasting money on MJ.

Well done @northernlight20 if I remember we have similar GW and mine is also 95kg as mini for 19 July (happy with 97 kg as my last mini goal was missed by 2kg)

I feel you , hoping the added dose and week after TOTM gives you a good loss this week ☺️
hope the SE goes away quickly for you

TheBossOfMe · 22/06/2025 10:48

@TheSpoonyNavyReader Bless you, don't get despondent. You've lost so much, and I suspect you've got a few factors at play, new job which is stressful so cortisol levels probably higher, body trying to hold to a previous set weight if I remember rightly from one of your earlier posts, waiting for TOTM. Sometimes it can be helpful for the mind to look at losses over a longer period rather than week to week, I found looking at my 4 week losses actually more encouraging than week to week because I had gain weeks. And NSVs count.

@northernlight20 Hello to the 8 years ago version of you :)

@Bipaloss 0.4lb gain is nothing, and gain weeks are to be expected. I think you're right re water retention, I've been drinking absolutely bucket loads of it, and my face looks a bit puffy, which is always a telltale sign for me.

Thank you and yes we are weight twins 😊 Im cheering us all on to get to all our goals. The gains is frustrating but it will come off eventually if we all keep going, we’ve got this 💪🏼
