Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

I am assuming everyone has seen the news about MJ price hikes? There’s a trending thread about it. I’m not one to jump on panic buying but I have just ordered a new pen 🫣 I’m about 8-9lb off target, with 3 doses in my current pen and (hopefully) I’ll have 2 unused pens in the fridge. Hoping that will see me through to goal and allow me to stretch it out as I titrate down (only on 5mg anyway) 😬

popdepop · 14/08/2025 15:57

Yes ive seen it 😩 quite devastating. im on holiday so will order when I return but unless they can negotiate discounts it may be the end of MJ for me

Justformounjaro · 14/08/2025 16:31

@museumumI know you said not yoghurt but have you tried protein yoghurts? I eat a coconut one from Lidl which I mix Chia seeds and toasted coconut into and it’s nothing like bog standard yoghurt. I’ve even thought of mixing it with raspberries and freezing it to see what that’s like.

Also, to add to other suggestions, edamame beans plus high protein tortilla wraps or whole meal bread. Lentils in any soups or stews.

My go to's for protein are fridge raiders, or cooked chicken in general, boiled eggs, babybel lights and arla chocolate protein milkshakes.

I also don't eat regular bread anymore, I use the warburtons bread items, thins, bagels, pittas... and fill them tuna and salad, phillidelphia light and bacon, egg mayo and salad.

Hope that helps 🙂

This was meant to say that I use the Warburtons PROTEIN bread items, thins, bagels, pittas...etc...

GameOfJones · 14/08/2025 17:05

@museumum all of the usual good protein options already mentioned..... Meat and fish, eggs, nuts, cheese etc. Can you stomach cottage cheese? I only like the Longley Farm brand because it's really thick and not gloopy at all but I find that or hummus good on ryvita.

I also rate the Vieve Protein Water if I just need something easy. I buy it on Amazon or from Holland and Barrett. It's just a fruit flavoured juice but 20g of protein per bottle. I don't have it every day but it's a good standby option because I really don't like the milky protein shakes.

It may well be the end of my MJ journey too...😢
I still have at least 2 stone to lose and MJ has been the only thing that's made it possible to get this far. I feel other benefits as well so I will be gutted to have to stop the medication.

Paulahoust · 14/08/2025 17:18

Has anyone ordered from Online Clinic?

tryingtobesogood · 14/08/2025 17:31

I have ordered 2 pens today with one new one to start at the weekend. I think that will be it for me. I’m kind of glad in a way. I’d quite like my digestion back. I’m sick of constant mild nausea. If I have to go it alone, I will be doing it from a much better place.

Chilldrill · 14/08/2025 18:09

Well if the news is true, it's devastating for anyone needing to lose a lot more, I hope it all turns out to be bluster, and nothing.
Well I was dithering about how I'll maintain, if this is true, now I know, 2.5 pen micro dosing from it which I can just about afford.
Thankful I bought and stashed pens to see me through another 4or 5months depending on how much I take out of the pens.
Shameful if it turns out to be true, I've never needed a higher dose than 5 to get full effects, but that's just luck isn't it, it's penalising people who don't respond well to those smaller doses,
I too am kind of sick of the nausea, but equally I'm petrified of full on hunger jeopardising everything, and going back to the old size 16 me.

Flamethrowers · 14/08/2025 19:18

2.5 weeks off Mounjaro and gained 2 kilos. Injected 2.5 today and I have been so hungry and eating everything. Weak with hunger. Looking forward to the relief of the pen!

Yellowsubmarine55 · 14/08/2025 19:22

Just ordered 3 pens and just ignored the cost. DH told me to do it and he'd pay if necessary. Got a 10% off as well so still well over what I'd like to pay. Not increasing dose now so I do hope it'll be ok. That'll see me through until December and I hope it'll get me to goal which is 2 stone more.

It is so sad it's come to this as it'll just price people out of the market.

Flamethrowers · 14/08/2025 19:28

I think a lot may be water weight as I got carb cravings

Ingangoolie · 14/08/2025 19:55

Thanks for the news about price hike, read it here first. Ordered another pen, Oushk have a £10 off coupon. I have 2 pens in fridge and 1.5 stone to go so that should get me pretty close. Mixed feelings, bit of relief that I’ve already done a big chunk of loss. And then angry for people who haven’t started MJ yet, like some of my friends, it’ll put it out of reach for a lot of people. And like you say @Chilldrill more difficult to keep on using at higher doses for people already using. Sad.

Good that NHS has a better price negotiation than us individually but so many people using privately is already saving NHS millions in future health needs. The unfairness.

Devastated about price hikes
I’m maybe being silly but can I just order 2 or 3 pens at one go from my current provider are they not going to question or say no to this? X

Bipaloss · 15/08/2025 08:20

After ordering a 12.5 mg from my current provider on Wednesday I also ordered a 15mg pen from another provider (hopefully they will approve) . If the price hikes are true these unfortnetly will be my last pens but hoping it will get me well under 30 bmi at least

was planning to stay on 12,5 and 15 another 4-6 months and then tilter down but 300£+ will not justify

will review strategy and potential look at PT instead

😢

Beinthepresent · 15/08/2025 08:23

@Christmashope19 my provider Farmeci sent an email yesterday saying about the price hikes and if I wanted to order extra on my next one due I could let them know. I asked for 2 more as they always had an option for ordering 3 in one go whenever I did my follow up before this anyway. If you check your emails you might find you have one. I think from what I'm reading most providers are doing this and giving priory to customers they already have over new ones.

Puddingpiper · 15/08/2025 08:34

They have said that they will come to commercial agreements with individual providers under confidential contracts. My email from London Pharmacy yesterday said about swapping to wegovy due to price post September price increase

tryingtobesogood · 15/08/2025 09:23

@Bipaloss I could have written this exact post. I had expected to stay on wli for another year, slowly reaching my goal with minimal stress. I have also ordered 2 pens at a higher dose than I am on now, and am hoping that with the one I am due to start this weekend I will have 4 months worth of MJ with the extra dose. I am also looking at a PT, which I had been considering anyway but now it will be an instead of rather than alongside WLI.

Part of me doesn't mind, I have a constant low level stomach side effect that I would be happy to see the back off. I also use WW to monitor my food, and will just have to embrace this more fully.

At least when I do stop I will be doing so from a healthier place, which is why I am considering going all in with the PT. I think 4 months with her will make me so much fitter and then it will all be that much easier to build on the new positive habits I will have instead of what I am doing now, which is relying on MJ to suppress my appetite so I lose weight.

So maybe the universe is telling me something. I am just sorry for those who would like to start or those for whom stopping is not an option.

@Bipaloss how does it work with ordering from multiple providers? Would it not get flagged up that you are ordering very quickly?

I ordered one pen with Asda last night but they are saying 4-6 days for approval (I'm a current customer) so am debating ordering one from oushk aswell and set th delivery for end of August if they will approve it as I'm worried that by the time Asda approved my order they may be out of stock.

My current supplier is my third supplier (from Asda to ZAVA to Pill sorted) and then I ordered another pen last night from pharmacy2u as the was a 60£ discount code monj. I haven’t had any issues jumping between provider just upload picture of pack with my name/presciptions. The only reason the pharmacy2u can decline is because my 12.5 pen hasn’t arrived yet and ordered a 15mg (pictured only the label on a 10mg pack).
the providers don’t reg it anywhere went for a health check up today and NHS have no records of me using MJ

Puddingpiper · 15/08/2025 10:26

I’ve been trying to get another pen today and cannot find them in stock at the moment or accepting discount codes. My London pharmacy are not price matching

Go on monj and try different providers on the discount list

monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/

many suppliers either stopped or ran out last night as to many panick buying and trying to stockpile before the hike

tryingtobesogood · 15/08/2025 10:32

I have ordered 2 pens from medicine marketplace, one yesterday and one today. They are my current supplier. It let me but let’s see if it goes through.

I also ordered from a previous supplier and am waiting confirmation.

I uploaded a photo of my current pen label on the box for that one, showing a date of the end of July. That gives me 4 pens, which I can stretch to 5-6 months and that will be it then.

I assume they don’t talk to each other. That’s confidential information

seasidehunter · 15/08/2025 10:38

The smaller places seem to have paused orders and/or are trying to prioritise existing customers. I got one in yesterday just before my supplier paused their ordering process, so hopefully that will be fine. They've said that once they've dealt with yesterday's backlog then they'll allow existing customers to order 2-3 pens if they have the stock.
