Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

@needtolose70lbim tall and a similar shape - next is my go to for a lot of options or cos (via Vinted) some long tall sally is nice some is dire.

@lilymtydates have been my saviour on the digestion front. Sometimes with some peanut butter as a snack.

@TryingMJi will second the idea of cutting apples then eating them. No idea but far more appealing to eat.

My scales are stuck on 96.6kg this week I’m hoping they wake up soon. In a NSV I made it to the gym tonight without having a panic attack or coming up with an excuse not to go so I’m taking that as progress. ChatGPT says it will take me to October to hit my target which doesn’t feel too bad we normally go on holiday at October half term so ties in well hopefully

TryingMJ · 17/06/2025 19:51

I think some people might be mistaking me for another poster (I know there are a few of us with these throw away mounjaro user names for this thread!), I’ve now had two notifications that I’ve been tagged now in comments about cutting up apples and I don’t know why 😂 Just wanted to say in case the real apple-eater needs to be alerted.

needtolose70lb · 17/06/2025 20:43

@Puddingpiper ok brilliant, thank you. I need to go back to next. They went through a nasty phase and I’ve avoided them for a while but I just looked at the website and lots of nice looking things. I’ve never tried cos, will have a check. Thanks!

It's @Justformounjaro the apple-based advice is meant for think.

Fibre wise chia seeds on porridge or yoghurt are a good shout, 15g (a tablespoon) is over 5g of fibre (even if the stupid seeds get stuck in your teeth grrr). Then apples or other fruit with seeds. Dates chopped up into yoghurt. And if desperate….prune juice. But start off small with it, I once took 3/4 of a litre in half a day as felt it wasn’t working….dear me it was like an exorcism x

Chia seeds are much better as a pudding ie soaked in some kind of milk:

Thanks for alerting me - although apple based advice is good to share for all 😀

Cutting up an apple is normally how I’d eat them. Usually added to granola but I quite like them sliced with a dab of peanut butter or chopped up on toast and sprinkled with cheese and then under the grill to toast again which I’ve not had since starting on Mounjaro but might consider for lunch now.

After my experiments yesterday with having a breakfast (toast with peanut butter) and psyllium and chia in yoghurt for lunch, and lots of veg with dinner, a satsuma and some blueberries, I am pleased to report that I managed to consume 32.4g of fibre yesterday!

I think I remember the prune juice exorcism @Lolliz87 I have similar tales to tell when overindulging on a packet of fig rolls after not seeing them in the shops for years, and finishing a packet of dried apricots on a plane as they weren’t allowed in the country I was visiting. The subsequent 4 hour wait to get through customs and pick up a hire car is not one I would wish to repeat 🥴

Fatmumslim01 · 18/06/2025 11:22

Hi all I haven't been on in a few days will have a proper catch up in a bit

I've got some wonderful news....I've lost 10% of my starting weight! Scales said 13 stone exactly today so I've lost a stone and a half in almost exactly 3 months as I started 21 march. I've been on 5mg for 6 /7 weeks now I think and was thinking it wasn't working as well mas wearing off alot by day 5 which I know is normal but still. However the past 2 weeks I've had sustained suppression all week and I've lost 4 pound in 2 weeks! So have ordered another 5mg. I used chemist4u this month not used them before as they were doing 5mg for £99. I ordered 4pm Fri it was approved 7pm Saturday, shipped on monday arrived on Tuesday. And they price match so I may stick with them next month aswell.

Also a big NSV...I had a routine thyroid check up and I can lower my dose of thyroxine as I've lost weight. I can go down from 150 to 125. The GP was really interested in MJ and he said he couldn't believe I had lost 17 pounds in 12 weeks and that is amazing. It's now 21 pound in 13 weeks! I talked alot about the non weight loss benefits of MJ I'm finding eg my chronic pelvic adhesion pain has gone, my bowel urgency has gone, my periods are lighter I haven't taken the day off work for my periods since starting MJ so as it used to be one day most months if day 1 of periods fell on a work day. Gp said there's so much benefit to mj they don't know about yet! Think I'll be on this for life as so many benefits for me!

This is long but here are my stats!

Height 5 foot.
Started 21 march.
SW 14-7
CW 13-0
GW 11-7 as first goal

GiveMeWordGames · 18/06/2025 11:30

@Fatmumslim01 all of that is wonderful news. Congratulations on both an SV and so many NSVs!

I've also been worrying whether staying at 5 was the right move but today I had boiled eggs for breakfast and as a result I reckon lunch will be no more than a bit of Greek Yoghurt. I'm still stuffed. So it's working alright.

It feels slow for me right now - it's probably not really but I seem to have been bouncing around between 15st 2 and 3 for a week.

So I took some pictures and compared them to the first set I took (not actually even from when I started, they're dated mid-April because the pharmacist suggested it for motivation and I'm so glad he did).

Such a difference! Even noticeably from the ones I took 3-4 weeks ago.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 18/06/2025 12:04

@Fatmumslim01 that's great news on both counts - happy dance all round

Tormundsbeard · 18/06/2025 13:50

SW 201 lbs
CW 169 lbs
GW 160 lbs

Week 15 and I have 9 lbs to go..

i am still overweight, but to see the scales start with a 16.. this morning was a thrill.

I am about to finish a 5mg pen and am changing back to a 2.5mg pen next as i want to get used to less suppression and also the diarrhoea on 5mg has never fully gone, so hoping lowering the dose will help.

This group has been such a help. I have told a few more family members now IRL, but sharing your journeys has been the best support.

GameOfJones · 18/06/2025 13:56

Jab number 16 just done and I've stuck with 5mg for my new pen. Like @GiveMeWordGames I was wondering whether that's the right call but I've just eaten a bowl of bran flakes for lunch and am absolutely stuffed so it's definitely still working for me.

@Fatmumslim01 that is such a positive set of results to read. I bet you're absolutely thrilled!

TheBossOfMe · 18/06/2025 14:28

Wow, @Fatmumslim01 that's really amazing!

Mid-week accountability weigh in and the weekend gain has melted away - although it helps that it's so warm, I turn into a rabbit in warm weather and eat a lot of salad, albeit with loads of protein as well.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 8st 9.7lb/121.7lb BMI 21.6 - 22.9lb down, 101% of target achieved.
GW 8st 10lb/122lb (22.6lb total target loss, 0lb to go) BMI 21.6

Loss by week:
W1 (2.5) 5.5lb
W2 (2.5) 1.3lb
W3 (2.5) 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 (5) 3.3lb
W5 (5) 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 (5) 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 (5) 2.6lb
W8 (5) 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
W9 (7.5) 1.1lb (NY trip)
W10 (7.5) 1.1lb (Hakkasan and weekend away)
W11 (7.5 split dose) 3.7lb (Chelsea, BH weekend)
W12 (7.5 split dose) 2.2lb gain (half term, River Cafe, birthday weekend away)
W13 (7.5 split dose) 3.2lb
W14 (7.5 split dose) 0.1lb (feeding teenagers up)
W15 (7.5 split dose) 0.7lb so far

0.3lb below goal

I'll need to make a bit of an effort this weekend not to gain too much because the teenagers will be back residing with me again (absolutely zero chance based on events this week that their mum is going to be able to safely care for them anytime soon, unfortunately), I think my strategy will be to try and put some more pounds in the bank over the next couple of days to give myself that safety net. One of the things I'm finding hardest is balancing the calorie needs of very active teenagers and modelling good eating habits for children who are very traumatised right now so don't need to see someone restricting diet too much, don't want to trigger an eating disorder in either of them on top of everything else they have going on, vs my much smaller calorie needs. The only real solution is going to be cooking the same meal, but my plate composition being very different to theirs, ie a lot more vegetables or salad on my plate vs theirs.

PoundsLost · 18/06/2025 17:55

Checking in to the new thread! Another pound off - the loss is still slow but it’s still happening so that’s ok. BMI 30.1 so very close to being merely overweight and also near out of the 14s which is another mini goal.

I was worried that my pen would have overheated as it has been in a drawer in a sunny room which has been very hot at 27c but it seems to be working well enough. I’ve put it in the fridge anyway.

I need to get DH to take progress photos!

2025mj · 18/06/2025 17:59

Thanks for the new thread
Sorry I haven't been active much, work is becoming stressful and just going through the motions right now

SW: 93kg
CW: 75kg

I've had one dose of 7.5mg, not much change to report

northernlight20 · 18/06/2025 19:02

Jab day today and weighed, only lost 0.8lb this week. Took another 9mg, may go up to 10 next week if weight loss continues to slow.
sw 114.4kg
cw 99.5kg

MamaBanana12 · 18/06/2025 20:31

Hey! I havnt updated for a while as had loads going on! Havnt weighed myself loads, but noticed im getting comments constantly and nothing fits !
I started on
3rd March at 16st 4lbs
18th June I’m now 13st 10 🥹

I’ve just gone to 7.5mg this week. Which has cranked up the suppression a lot! But yeah im just feeling so good and I’ve dropped a few sizes! I think another 1st 11 off and il be super happy!

im quite tall (5ft10) and that will put me in a size 10-12 usually which I like. I don’t wanna be super skinny.

next challenge now is to get my fitness and start exercising

RuthEvershedforPM · 19/06/2025 07:34

BMI of 24.99 no longer overweight (by the skin of my teeth!) technically obese a few months ago!

a long way to go as I have a small frame - but crikey this is a thing

Beinthepresent · 19/06/2025 09:19

Well done everyone on their losses this week. Weigh in day for me. End of week 13 only lost 0.5 kilos this week. Going to up to 3.75 today and might do full 5 next week if I get another lower loss. I feel like the last few weeks I've been putting more on my plate and finishing it. Up to now I always left something. Scary how the habits creep back in!
Sw 104.9 kills
Cw 90.2 kilos
Tw in the 60s.
Total loss of 14.7 kilos/ 32.4lbs .

TheBossOfMe · 19/06/2025 09:45

Been skimming the thread for the last couple of days because a lot going on with work/life but catching up a bit now.

@Justformounjaro I think the big waist reductions for some of us is to do with where we put weight on. My legs and arms always were slim even at my heaviest weight, it all went on on my waist and arse. So I measure those. You just might have a very different shape, so the inches are coming off more evenly, or from a different body part.

@needtolose70lb I'm not usually an M&S fan, but their stomach control swimwear is really good. As is CupShe.

@RuthEvershedforPM Go you! That's a huge milestone!

Psyllium husk did its thing overnight (I seem to keep forgetting to take it recently, too many other thoughts occupying my brain) which is a relief because I was a bit uncomfortable by last night. Which has helped with putting some pounds in the bank ahead of the weekend, and I'm now a tiny bit below the 2lb safety zone that I wanted to have before starting to titrate down on doses. So maintenance will properly start next week.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 8st 7.9lb/119.9lb BMI 21.3 - 24.7lb down, 109% of target achieved.

2.1lb below goal.

That should be enough in the bank to get me through what's very likely to be a gain over the weekend, my pattern seems to always be a Wed/Thu low and then a gain, but I'm OK with that, I like to enjoy my weekends. I keep reminding myself that mindful strategies are as important as MJ on this journey. Mindful weekdays, less mindful but not quite pig out weekends some weeks, other way round on some other weeks depending on what's going on with life.
