Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

Wow @Bipalossthat’s an amazing transformation. You look so good!

Beinthepresent · 11/08/2025 07:07

@TheSpoonyNavyReader congratulations, how lovely for you. All that renewed energy will come in handy chasing a toddler!

@Bipaloss what a difference! Great photo.

GameOfJones · 11/08/2025 07:17

@Bipaloss you can really see the difference!
@TheSpoonyNavyReader congratulations!

Weigh in for me this week and it's a STS. I'm ok about it, summer holidays are hard for me weight loss wise and I had a bigger loss last week anyway. Ideally I want to lose a few more lbs in the next couple of weeks as we're going on holiday....but realistically I'm close to goal now and trying to remember that.

@LilyLondonits completely normal and super common to have 1-2 days of extreme hunger a few days before your period starts. My friends and I call these ‘bottomless pit days’. Don’t be blaming yourself for this it’s just part of the body’s nature. And I still get them too although I don’t tend to eat ‘as’ much on them as I did pre-MJ.

@Bipalossehat a difference it makes. Well done!

@TheSpoonyNavyReadercongratulations on the news! You sound a bit stunned but I hope it is happy surprise!

does anyone mind if I ask for a recap of people’s ages? Sometimes I get a bit confused and it’s nice to know who is doing my the journey at the same time of life as me.

I am 39 started the journey a month before my 39th birthday with the goal of getting to a healthy weight before I turn 40 next year.

Beinthepresent · 11/08/2025 08:38

@soupforbrains
Hi, I was 42 in May so 41 when I started MJ. Started at 104.9 kilos 16.6 stone
Currently 84.4 kilos as of this morning! 13.4 in stones I think!

2025mj · 11/08/2025 08:41

Is anyone dealing with hair loss 😓
I do have an under active thyroid and on medication, I also have extremely low iron which iron tablets aren't helping with

March 2025 starter thread 6
Beinthepresent · 11/08/2025 09:17

@2025mj
Oh no that seems like a lot. I am having to empty my brush every time I have used it whereas before it would have been once every week. So getting a chunk twice a day. Always got hairs stuck to my clothes. I tried collegen supplements a while ago but they made me feel awful horrendous burps and felt sick. Stopped as soon as I stopped taking them. A lot of people on here so take them so hopefully someone can recommend something for you x

GiveMeWordGames · 11/08/2025 09:45

Congratulations, @TheSpoonyNavyReader . Lovely news! And @Bipaloss BIG difference in those pics.

@2025mj Oh, that does seem like a lot! 😮I'm definitely emptying my brush more often. My hair is very fine but I've always had lots of it so it's hard to tell how much I've lost in volume. It definitely hasn't grown as much since its last cut. I've started taking an iron tablet every few days but being over 50 I'm cautious and want to do a bit more research about what levels are safe to take regularly.

Jab day today. I can't believe I'm starting my sixth pen! Staying at 7.5 because it's working well. Just over 2.5lb loss this week. I'm getting very close to the 13s and being "only" overweight rather than obese.

SW (March 24th) 17st 4
CW 14st 1.25
GW 11-12st

Total loss: 44.75 lbs.

Started the month before my 39th birthday too so very similar in age to you!

SharpOpalNewt · 11/08/2025 10:59

Hi everyone. Is anyone else on 15mg yet? I may be slightly ahead of others as I did literally start on 1st March, and also people sometimes choose to stay on lower doses. I've found 12.5mg ok, just a bit of nausea on the highest dose days. But at the same time my BMI is now 25.1. I'd like to get down to 24/23 to give wriggle room but must admit to a slight trepidation with taking the full dose when I'm now not that heavy. The online doctor can see my stats and obviously thinks it's ok, but still. And at the same time my loss is rather slow, and I can definitely eat ok on 12.5mg so the increase makes sense from that perspective. I suppose the only thing is to suck it and see. Or count the clicks and take less.

Aboutmeabouttime · 11/08/2025 12:54

@soupforbrains I’m 44 (started MJ just after my birthday) 5’5”, stayed on 2.5mg

SW (17 Mar) 13st 7lbs (BMI 31.5)
CW 11st (BMI 25.8)
GW 10st 7lbs (BMI 24.5) although may not be enough wiggle room??

@2025mj not noticed increased hair loss, but I’m taking collagen (Ancient & Brave) powder in my coffee every morning. Maybe chat to your hairdresser or consider a caffeine and adenosine shampoo to see if that helps?

Puddingpiper · 11/08/2025 12:56

@soupforbrains I am 38 and started a few months before my birthday similar thought process to you I wanted to be far healthier than I was at 40.

soupforbrains · 11/08/2025 13:01

@2025mj I’m experiencing similar but it’s common with weight loss so I’m trying not to focus on it or panic. I’m also on thyroid meds and I also experience low blood iron which iron supplements don’t help. In my case my body doesn’t absorb vitamin B efficiently. So then I don’t have the vitamin B which my body needs to convert the dietary iron into blood iron. When I stay on top of my vitamin B Compound supplements and vitamin E supplements both my blood iron and hair loss are better. Maybe it can work for you too?

@Lollzi86we’re practically twins! 🤣

Weigh day today after being away at the wedding over the weekend, great time, random super high suppression kicked in even though I had missed my jab deliberately on Fri and I enjoyed the meal but only ate a small amount of it. A few friends who know I'm on mj commented on my portion size and said the weight loss is obvious now although I can't see it!

Got weighed today and 3 pounds down after my 2 weeks stall this seems to be a bit of a pattern 😂

So I'm 32 pound down in 21 (I think!) weeks!

SW 14-7
CW 12-3
GW 11-7 as mini goal then 9-7

Need to do my jab tonight really as I missed it on Fri so I am 10 days since my last jab now.

Does anyone know how this works going forward? Like will my jab day have to be a Monday now? I don't see how I can do another one on Fri if I do it tonight as that would be alot whizzing round my system!

Great NSV there AND total loss.

I would just walk your jab day back one day each week until it's back to Friday if that's where you want it to be. Monday-Sunday-Saturday-Friday.

GameOfJones · 11/08/2025 21:42

@soupforbrains I'm 37 and had a very similar thought process in that I was sick of being obese and wanted to finally lose weight before I turn 40. I promised I'd lose it when I turned 30 which never happened. I feel SO much better.

I'm 5'6 and my BMI was 34.3 last year. It had been over 30 for at least a decade. I'm now at BMI 25.2 and am aiming for 23.

Bipaloss · 11/08/2025 22:26

I was 39 when starting and wanted to enter 40’s focusing on me again and feeling like when I was 20 again (may be too much motivated by the real housewife shows I binge watch 😂)

now 40 and currently at DS2 check-in weight and goal is just below weight when I got married at 26 (5kg above when I was my slimmest at 23 years old as I felt too slim at the time)

I’m 5’8

Justformounjaro · 11/08/2025 23:29

Goal Weight: Undecided

Current Weight: 12st 13.3lbs
Loss on MJ: 2st 0.7lbs (28.7lbs)
Total loss: 2st 7.2lbs (35.2lbs)

Week 23 Gained 0.4lbs (2.5mg)

Oops 🥴 I really shouldn’t eat salty things and drink alcohol the day before weigh in day.

Commiserations to those of you losing hair. It seems to be a side effect that is quite common with losing a lot of weight quickly, and maybe not getting the right mix of nutrients. I started off thinking I was doing quite well trying to eat enough protein but, after I started properly tracking everything I ate to understand the makeup of what DP was eating following his pre-diabetes diagnosis (because he’s not really taking that seriously) it’s been really scary how I’ve probably been failing to eat enough of the major nutrients for years, in spite of cooking from scratch most evenings. I’m now diligent about taking a multivitamin every day, alongside collagen, calcium and biotin supplements.

Congratulations for all the NSV’s and to @TheSpoonyNavyReader for your lovely news 👶

Aw, don't worry. It will often come off again quickly. It is sometimes just bloating and water retention.
