Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Oh 100%.

I work in a male dominated industry. (Always have even though I’ve moved through 3 industries). The men I work with are very ‘good’ though and it is not a boys club or any of that. But part of their being aware and inclusive etc. means that they are also very aware that they shouldn’t comment on physical appearance, especially for a woman.

I’ve found that the few women I work with have commented ‘you’re looking great, have you lost weight?’ Which may not be the most pc thing these days but they know me well enough to know that I’ve wanted to. Whereas a couple of the men have said ‘you’re looking well’, while another who I’m closer to did actually ask if I’d lost weight but not before doing an amusingly furtive look around to ensure he wouldn’t be overheard.

I hear you. I've not seen any major loss recently just the same couple of pounds so I too am knuckling down. I went up to 7.5mg last Sat and this Sat I will start a new pen of 7.5mg. I gave myself six weeks to see where I could get to as only 13lbs to goal. Need to get my 💩 sorted though as still not happening. Trying prune juice next. Good luck x

Thanks, good luck yo you too. Thing is, im at least 2.5st off target! And that's a generous goal too.

Yetanotherusername2000 · 31/07/2025 12:30

I’ve just realised that even my bunions have gone down! I am considering that I might even need to stay on long term low dose as an anti inflammatory. It’ll be worth it.
I’ve just gone and got a meal deal for the first time for ages and I’m totally stuffed after a tuna/cucumber sandwich and a bag of plain crisps. I need to knock the guilt on the head though - it’s really helpful to read other people’s emotional feelings around food.

I’m the same, actually put on 3 pounds last week. Most of it seems to have come off this week but means I haven’t lost anything for a fortnight….and still have 1-1.5 stone to go 🫣 bah. Tried to re-centre this week and just concentrate on protein and fibre and water. Boring though and can’t wait for a break tbh x

Today I noticed wrinkles above my knees 😱

I’ve not noticed wrinkles on my knees but I avoid looking at my legs when doing a plank as they now have a very peculiar texture when gravity has taken over 😳

And my arms 😭 I live in hope that they will recover 🤞

Chilldrill · 01/08/2025 14:58

My arse is now non existent, the texture of my skin is weird af, and I don't know where to start with exercising. 🤷Starting to think Janice might have had a point. 😂Beeeatch.
9.5 as of today, keeping on going down as I like eating the same thing every day, it feels safe, rather than adjusting to maintain,
Wish I lived near somewhere that did pilates, but it's not really a thing here, lol, arse end of northern nowhere, might have to you tube it and try in my bedroom. Probably do myself a mischief, I'll be found in a week with my legs plaited round my neck, happy weekend, to you all.

TheBossOfMe · 01/08/2025 17:06

@Chilldrill My Pilates studio does online classes, started in Covid and then she had so many customers who started joining in from all over the country that she kept it going afterwards.

It sounds odd, but it actually works really well because she keeps classes small so she can see your positioning on her screen and adjust you accordingly. Worth a try?

Puddingpiper · 01/08/2025 17:39

@Chilldrillwe have just had a Pilates studio open in the next village I’m currently negotiating time around puppies and children to be able to go. No doubt I’ll be sporting a broken arm, leg or ankle soon. Our local yoga lady does online if that is any good for you?

NSV my size 18 wardrobe is officially too large I pulled on a River Island jumpsuit today without undoing and of the buttons or zips. Dresses, blazers and some tops I can get a bit longer out of but trousers are beginning to look very nappy like around the backside!

how brave is everyone being with disposing on the clothes they have under grown being charity, Vinted or throwing out?

RuthEvershedforPM · 01/08/2025 17:48

@Puddingpiper i have put everything to the charity shop - I figure if I have no option of fat clothes it will help me stay slim! It’s not at all wise financially- but I also love clothes and much of what I have got rid of wasn’t very fashionable / stylish. So if I do end up needing more because I am chubby - perhaps I can put a bit more care into myself.

Chilldrill · 01/08/2025 18:11

Thankyou @TheBossOfMe ,thank you @Puddingpiper. I was size 16/ 18 when I started, am a 10 now, and my wardrobe is a whole load of chaos, tried selling some almost new items, on ebay but haven't had any luck, I have bought some nice things though. Nicer than I would have bought from new, especially the jeans, the boden ones I wouldn't have paid those prices, but the cut is lovely, I'm still wearing the size 12 and even though they are a bit too big they still hang nice because of the cut.
I've got two bags in the spare room ready to go, and I chucked a bag out when I started, I think you're right @RuthEvershedforPM if there's no clothes to wear, I can't get fat again!

GameOfJones · 01/08/2025 18:32

My arse has also disappeared! It is completely flat which I'm finding a bit odd! I bought an exercise bike yesterday so am trying to focus more on exercise now while I'm trying to lose this last stone or so.

I've gone from a size 16 to a 12. A lot of clothes in a 14 that I have I can still wear but they're just loose on me rather than too tight. But anything in a size 16 or that is definitely too big has gone straight to the charity shop. I got rid of 5 bags of clothes this week.

I don't want to hang on to clothes that are too big for me on the chance I'll put on weight again as I am really trying to tell myself I'm not going back to how I was.

I actually want to completely streamline my wardrobe anyway and treat myself to some new items so I have fewer clothes but better quality. I dream of a capsule wardrobe but realistically am never going to get there! But I do want to easily be able to see what I've got and not hang onto clothes that don't make me feel good.

Flamethrowers · 01/08/2025 18:47

Thank you everyone for liking my bikini message and giving me empowerment and va-voom. The bottoms are a size too small (!) but my daughters say I look ‘snatched’ - which might be pushing it - but ta very much!

RuthEvershedforPM · 01/08/2025 18:48

fully recommend streamlining - for the first time in years I can wear EVERYTHING that’s hanging up - not much choice there because I have had to buy all new stuff and I don’t have limitless funds - but it all fits :)

Fatmumslim01 · 01/08/2025 19:08

This is going to be a moaning post sorry....

I'm feeling really despondent about MJ and weight loss over the last week or so.

I'm 20 weeks in , 29 pound down but I can't see the difference 😔 I was trying on clothes for an upcoming wedding and took some pics to get my friend's opinion and I'm still absolutely massive. I still fit in all the same clothes as I did, albeit slightly looser. It just seems such a long way to go and I'm really missing food. It doesn't bring me any pleasure anymore.

I'm due to jab today, technically going up to 7.5 but might do 6.25.

DH also says the cost is a massive cost each month and he's right. Even with discount codes and swapping pharmacies etc I still need to pay £130 next week for my next jab and that's alot of money especially in summer holiday, basically £130 is a day out for us all (large family) and I feel selfish paying all this money.

But then on the plus side, although I still need DH to pull me up from sitting on the floor with the kids, he said it was lot easier now I'm 29 pound down so that's good.

Sorry for the moan, I just wish I could see the weight loss for myself and then it would feel more worth it if that makes sense.

Puddingpiper · 01/08/2025 19:20

@Fatmumslim01 29lbs is a large amount of weight to have lost in 20 weeks. That first dress size feels like a huge step as realistically most of us were actually a dress size larger than we thought. There is no way round it £130 a month is a lot for most families, my way of looking at it is that 6 months of one day out less a month is worth if it if I am healthier and able to do more fun stuff with the kids for the coming years as I can walk jump and possibly run.

I would say don’t lose the faith and congratulate yourself on the progress you have made. Do you know what percentage of the way you are to your goal?

I use Shotsy to teach progress which really helps me see all the mini goals I have hit.

DH says (he's better at maths than me 🤣) that I'm 40percent of the way to goal 😱

I need to lose 5 stone (probably a bit more tbh) and I've lost 2 so apparently that's 40 percent. 40 percent sounds like alot so I don't know why I don't see it.

I'm not really into apps but I'm keeping a weekly list of my weight and I've gone from 14stone7 to 12stone6

Yellowsubmarine55 · 01/08/2025 19:39

@Fatmumslim01 I hear you loud and clear, it is a lot of money each month and if you're not being encouraged or motivated by what you see in the mirror then you just feel what's the point.

A few weeks ago I was very blah, just fed up of eating what I was and the vast journey ahead of me. I also only lost less than a pound so really demotivated. I was still wearing gold clothes and felt terrible as they were all baggy and I hadn't invested in small stuff.

Then I read something about your body going into starvation mode due to the limited calories ( I'm short so my TDEE- 500 was less than 1200 so I was struggling to get that low. Anyway the past couple of weeks I've not been as strict and have eaten maybe 1300-1400 and since Tuesday I'm already 1.3 lb down. So maybe trick your body to get things moving again is what I'm saying.

Also get the tape measure out or a belt/piece of clothing in a small size and each month try or see how many inches you've lost.

The above has given me my 3st which I'm delighted with. However I've no backside either 😬

Puddingpiper · 01/08/2025 19:41

I put my measurements into chat gpt which so far has been really accurate to show me time to target and also that the weight loss needed for an 18 to 16 is much bigger than 16-14. I’ve attached a photo if it helps. I’ve lost 42lbs and it has taken me from a good size 20 to very small 18/large 16. I’m still wearing clothes I wore at the start.

However it is estimating that another 24lbs will take me to a size 12ish.

@Justformounjaro impressed with “when I’m doing a plank” 🥳
@Chilldrill congratulations on the end of your arse. Maybe you and Janice can meet up to do one of those online Pilates classes together. I am also in the shrinking arse gang. I’ve been doing some lunges and other weights exercises I found on Insta and YouTube that target glutes but no noticeable change yet, think it’ll be a while, but I guess that’s the name of the game.
@Fatmumslim01 you're doing so well, you’re ensuring that you’ll be as fit and healthy as you can for your family. Hats off to people who have a long journey.

soupforbrains · 01/08/2025 23:09

I am also in the shrinking arse club… HOWEVER, my arse was the size of African elephant to start with so it is not at risk of disappearing for quite some time.

@Fatmumslim01 it’s hard because almost all of us have some form of dysmorphia. We don’t really see ourselves how we actually exist. I know that for me myself I saw myself as much bigger than I was for a really long time but then the last stone or maybe two of my weight gain, I’ve been blind to the changes in the gain.

so I have lost 42lbs. I’m still huge. I don’t SEE any difference when I look at myself. Ive even used me360 and don’t see any difference on that. I still wear a lot of the same clothes BUT they are much looser and, when I’ve bought clothes recently (for holiday and stuff, I’ve been able to fit into smaller sizes. One sometimes two sizes down. And I can FEEL the difference. You starting loss goal is the same as what I STILL have to lose. You’re doing brilliantly.

man’s like someone else said you may not be eating enough. I’ve noticed the last few weeks that the days I’ve eaten a good chunk more, and worry about having eaten too much, are the days where I actually lose the most.
