Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

something twigged with me earlier, I’ve been on 5mg for the last like 11 weeks I guess and I have been the same weight for the last 8. Maybe this is my maintenance dose my body has got used to, so I defo need to increase the dose? Do ppl agree with that logic? Having said that, I’m drinking too much wine and not calorie counting so I have not idea how many calories I’m consuming so maybe with some awareness I could get back on track on 5mg. I just really struggle for lunch and snack ideas when I’m peckish and tend to still rely on biscuits, albeit only one or two. Dinner tends to be chicken rice and veg

soupforbrains · 05/07/2025 22:22

@Outsidebeanshopit could be time to go up a dose but regardless of dose if you’re not living in a deficit you’re not going to lose weight. So I would definitely re-focus first and then move up the dosage to support that if necessary.

Puddingpiper · 05/07/2025 22:24

@Outsidebeanshopif you have stalled and still have appetite suppression I would start with counting calories for a week to see what you are really eating

Chilldrill · 05/07/2025 22:33

@Outsidebeanshop ,im still on 5, but I feel it's working for me, I don't drink anymore, the mj has taken care of that, if I had wine not only would there be hardly any cals left for food I'd be snacking too. Maybe you do need to go up if you want to lose not maintain, I jab on Thursday and still can't manage much today, if I wasn't getting suppression and not losing I'd be thinking I was wasting my money. I don't calorie count but I know instinctively what's within my limits, I also intermittently fast between 6 at night and lunch next day. It's quit restrictive but I am still losing, albeit quite slowly even on this regime, there's no way I could do this without mj, and I can't afford to be on it forever so it's got to work for its money for me.

This is what I’m thinking - Like why am I wasting this money just staying the same weight and not taking it seriously. I need to get my head back in the game. Maybe I need to change my jab day too, to Friday or something so that it’s high suppression over the weekend. Although I also find it hard to control eating during the week with a stressful job 😂 I’m going to calorie count from now on and maybe skip breakfast, I kinda only eat breakfast cos I feel I should but I’m not ever that hungry

Chilldrill · 05/07/2025 23:15

@Outsidebeanshop , sounds like a plan, it's hard not to have wine o clock when your job is very stressful, but I think I'd have a go at the fasting, til lunch, I do drink loads of water on waking, and then don't bother til lunch, have a go it's worked well for me.

Good morning

Well the eating of the omelette worked yesterday! It’s not something I would recommend if you are Egg intolerant but I was desperate and in pain.

I understand what you are saying @Fatmumslim01 and @soupforbrains 950 calories maybe to low, but I have done everything to get out of this stall and nothing has worked. To be truthful I am feeling disheartened that I am not moving I was a fast loser at the beginning but now taking everything to loss a pound.

Although my starting weight was 13st 4lbs I am aiming to loss 4st 4lbs so I am here for the long haul and I would still be in a healthy weight bracket if went to 8st 4lbs which would be a 5 stone goal.

Good morning all weigh in day week 16 completed

SW 115 kg / 18.1 st
CW 98.5 kg / 15.5 st
GW 11-12 st

loss this week 1.1 kg / 2.4 lb
total loss 16.5 kg /36 lb

started 10 mg on Wednesday and this dose is so different, I don’t have SE per say but I can barely eat not that I’m too full but if I make some food and gag once I start eating similar to when I had morning sickness . In combo with not feeling hungry at all I forcing myself to eat whatever I can . Also until now I have been able to have some wine nope 10mg does not like that as vomited it straight out
also have had loose belly which is opposite of earlier doses .

hoping it calms down a bit on jab 2 and 3 as this is a bit too restrictive (but not too much either as I want to stay on 10 mg at least 8 weeks)

Fatmumslim01 · 06/07/2025 10:18

Morning all

I e said before and I'll say it again, MJ is absolute witchcraft!

This morning I was up and out early to take DC to an event. Nearby we passed a McDonald's and I thought ooo on the way back home I'll call in and get a breakfast and a coffee and have some time to myself before heading home. So I dropped DC off, pulled into McDonald's carpark and then realised that actually I didn't want or need it and got home and had Weetabix 😂

Pre MJ I'd have loved the thought of a McDonald's breakfast and id fight in my brain that I shouldn't as I should be trying to lose weight but the food noise would be so loud I'd have to give in. If this is how normal people feel around food no wonder thinner friends have told me I don't need the jabs I just need to eat less (like I've never tried that 😂)

MJ is freedom that's all I can describe it as. I'm actually a bit emotional writing this!

RuthEvershedforPM · 06/07/2025 13:08

Morning all - congrats on the McDonald’s freedom! I feel a bit the same about cheese toasties!

My losing has slowed right down - but making peace with it and setting more mini goals

had a properly satisfying day yesterday - decided to make the most of my newly crap tits and bought some bras that fit. Was messed about in Boux avenue in Liverpool which was a shame but we have a local shop that is pretty good

i then went through my whole wardrobe and sent everything that doesn’t fit to the charity shop. So now I can wear EVERYTHING that’s hanging up and I can see what I do / don’t need. It’s clear I don’t need any more t shirts or midi skirts … but I have nothing to wear if I ever get invited anywhere nice 🤣 lucky I am in the voluntary sector and too old for weddings or nightclubs

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 06/07/2025 18:24

@Fatmumslim01 i took the dc to burger king last week. I ordered a chicken burger and fries, ate half and left the rest. Wtaf??

I've also pretty much stopped eating cheese. Well, I mean cheddar really. I do eat feta and soft cheese. But no more slabs of extra mature cheddarwhen making DC a picnic plate or sandwich.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader I'm with you on the 5 week stall, things have slowed down for me A LOT. I'm going to to 7 5mg this week in an attempt to get things moving. I know I've drunk wine and snacked, but I wouldn't have been able to at the start. 5mg just isn't providing the same levels of suppression..

Lolliz87 · 06/07/2025 18:43

Had to weigh in day early this week as away with work from tonight and no access to scales. Also will have to jab tonight which is 1.5 days earlier than usual but if not can’t do it till Friday. Anyway managed 0.8kg off which isn’t too bad as I had a bad week/weekend of alcohol intake tbh! Onwards and upwards (or hopefully downwards in the weight). 4 weeks today and go away on holiday I’d be delighted if I could be in the ‘14’s by then so need to lose 6.5 pounds in 4 weeks! Challenge on

GameOfJones · 06/07/2025 19:25

@Fatmumslim01 I completely relate to you about the McDonald's! Today DH, DDs and I went out for a walk and we stopped at a farm shop on our way home to get some lunch. They all got sausage rolls and cakes and I couldn't decide what I wanted so finally selected.......a pot of Longley Farm cottage cheese and some posh crackers. Who even am I? 🤣 I had three crackers, a third of the cottage cheese and brought the rest home for tomorrow.

I did make roast beef for dinner and had a glass of wine with that mind you, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Aboutmeabouttime · 06/07/2025 19:39

Just to say - managed to hard twist my first golden dose today! I know lots of you have done it from the beginning but I’ve been scared!
That’s all! 😆

I have given up trying the hard twist. Failed with first 3 pens, so haven’t bothered since. Can anybody shed any light on success with this or the golden dose? What type of syringes do I need?

Spondoolie · 07/07/2025 08:19

Hooray! I have snuck into the 10s.

SW: 14
CW: 10.13
Target: 8.7

After my missed week, supression seems fine, or is it the new normal appetite? Who knows. Sticking with 7.5 as its working and SE have been zero recently.

one weird NSV/observation is that my necklace now falls down the b of my neck. Who knew?! 🤣

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 07/07/2025 08:23

Morning all, I'll have a proper catch up after the school run, but here to report a 2.5lb loss this week, after a 1.5 gain last week.

A total loss of 37lbs and 15% of my body weight since March 16th.

Here's hoping things are moving for me again! 5lbs away from 3 st which is amazing.

Happy Monday!

I also haven’t tried this. I wish I had!

MrsAlwaysRight · 07/07/2025 08:37

After a 4 week plateau I have finally lost a whole bloody pound 😂

I've ordered a 7.5 pen instead of 5 this week to give me some flexibility but might count clicks and stick at 5 depending on what the scales say next weigh in day.

LilyLondon · 07/07/2025 10:31

Quite surprised today to discover I’ve had a bit of a drop, despite having a pretty scattered and indulgent weekend - I’m now officially at -10kg 🥳

mumofmanydaughterofone · 07/07/2025 11:18

missed weigh in day on Friday due to being away - was at a festival type thing all weekend - zero option to have anything in the slightest bit healthy (hello burgers and hot dogs!) so tried to keep volume of those to a minimum haha, plus definitely didn't drink enough (if you'd seen those toilets you wouldn't either)
Have weighed today and STS which I'm OK with! so
SW (preMJ) 210
MJ SW 196
CW 168
GW 140 I think (it's been 150; 147; 140 even toyed with 139 to be 9 st something - will decide as I get closer)
Have a fab week everyone - good luck with holiday season upon us

Ingangoolie · 07/07/2025 11:33

@Spondoolie joining you in the 10’s today, huge smile and a high five from me.
SW 13st 3lb
CW 10st 12lb
GW 9st 7lb
3lb drop this week after a slow down for few weeks. Have just read something about when you start taking creatin it can slow weight loss as it is hydrating your muscles, been taking for about a month now, so maybe linked to that as well as 11st being a bit of a set weight point for me. Last time I was in the 10s is 10+ years ago.

@Aboutmeabouttime and @AgnethaF and @Spondoolie I tried the hard twist today and couldn’t budge it so used a syringe to get golden dose, they’re 1ml 6mm needles bought pack of 20 from Amazon. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do this, eg. FatOldClimber. Needle a bit longer than usual but plenty of fat left to jab, was ok.

soupforbrains · 07/07/2025 15:28

I do the golden dose out of all my pens and I use a syringe. I’ve never tried the hard twist it doesn’t appeal to me the ‘break’ the mechanism and I’m always worried I’ll break it more than I should and end up with a total mess.

PLEASE be very very careful if you are buying the needles from Amazon. I work for Amazon and get a discount and even I don’t buy mine from Amazon. Too many of the ones sold on there are either not intended for hyperdermic use or are not intended for human use. So do make sure you’re ultra careful. Or buy them from ukmedi or another approved medical supplier in the uk.

the best are 32G grade (fine tip) 1ml 6 or 8mm. Make sure that they are sterile and individually wrapped.

soupforbrains · 07/07/2025 15:38

Got distracted by the chat and forgot what I came on for.

im on 7.5mg now. (I’m still split dosing so do 3.75 twice a week) and have good suppression all round plus nice quiet brain without food noise.

BUT, I’m premenstrual and today I am RAVENOUS. I have always had 1 or 2 days before my period when I could eat for Britain but since being on MJ these have been really muted. Today however I could eat at least enough food for a family of 4! I think it is because I will jab this evening so this month the ‘feast day’ in my hormonal cycle has coincided with it being a jab day, (so slightly lower levels of MJ in my system). I have managed to resist scoffing everything I see so far. But I’m planning to treat myself to a bigger/more lavish supper than usual to assuage the hangry gremlins and hopefully tomorrow things will settle down again.

it HAS however reminded me of how truly awful the hunger pains used to be constantly when I used to try dieting without MJ. So I have a renewed joy in MJ and a pleasure that I don’t feel like this all the time but am still losing weight.

Justformounjaro · 07/07/2025 23:44

Weigh in day for me:

Pre Start Weight: 15st 6.5lbs (25/11/24)
Start Weight MJ: 15st 0lbs (1/3/25)
Goal Weight: Undecided

Current Weight: 13st 4.5lbs
Loss on MJ: 1st 9.5lbs (23.5lbs)
Total loss: 2st 2lbs (30lbs)

It looks like I’ve only lost 0.9lbs this week but my scales are playing silly beggars just now and seem to register a higher weight when I’ve connected my phone to them than when I just step on them; the readings have been all over for the last few days but I have started doing cardio proper this week and that apparently has your muscles holding onto water till it gets used to the extra effort. That’s what I’m happy to believe 😀. My waist may not be getting any smaller but my hip dips (those bits of flab between your waist and hip joints) are definitely disappearing.

I have been so good this week with DP away. Normally I’d be rummaging in the cupboards for sweet treats but I’ve managed to resist that quite well. I do have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day with a coffee but I’m sticking to a 3.5g Bitsa Wispa rather than 50g of fruit and nut. This evening, I’ve had a craving for a boiled egg 😳
