Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Has anyone read anything to suggest that an anaesthetic injection at the dentist might not be a good idea if you are taking Mounjaro? I know if I had to have a general anaesthetic they need to be aware but, I had a filling at the dentist and had a really weird minute or so after the injection.

I felt woozy like I’d been drinking, and then my heart started racing. The heart racing might have been my mind working overtime just in case I’d missed reading something that said it wasn’t to be done, but the wooziness I’ve never experienced before, and I’m not in any way afraid of the dentist. I honestly thought I’d not be able to drive home (I was perfectly fine by the time the anaesthetic had kicked in). It was very odd.

Oh gosh, I’ve got a root canal in a week or two and I hadn’t thought of that. Did you tell them?

@TheSpoonyNavyReader Looking fab in that dress!

Totally agree! Took ages for the photo to appear for me but it’s great!

LilyLondon · 02/07/2025 16:36

@Yetanotherusername2000 @Justformounjaro just FYI, I’ve had 2 fillings while on WLI (arguably not MJ, but Wegovy) and I’ve been completely fine, no side effects from the anaesthetic at all

soupforbrains · 02/07/2025 16:49

@Flaitchyou might be able to find mixed fruit juice blends which contain prune juice. That’s what I did and the flavour was fine because it was balanced with the others.

@Bipalossyes. I am also very regular with heavier but short periods. I have had the same on MJ, increased cramps and clotting. I think it is related to the dehydration aspects of MJ. Just up your water intake. Especially in this warmer weather. It should look more like 3-4 litres a day than the usual 2.

@Justformounjaro I haven't had any dental work since being on MJ (although my gum disease has disappeared since being on MJ!)

I always get a reaction like you described after the anaesthetic at the dentist when I have fillings, at first I thought it was nerves but I've had 4 fillings and it kept happening even when I wasn't nervous. I get really dizzy, nauseous, feel a bit drunk. I definitely can't drive so now I take the bus or get DH to drive me. I mentioned it to the dentist and she said some people are allergic to the anaesthetic so I must be one of those people. Interestingly I get the same reaction when they use the "contrast dye" in CT scans.

Not sure if I look like mutton dressed as lamb, my daughter did say to me that I am now older (it’s been 7 year) and maybe I should wear something else.

Hi everyone, checking in, @TheSpoonyNavyReader dress looks great,!
Well I'm in the nines now, woo hoo, but bloody scared of coming off, I'll keep going at 5 for a bit more, until 9 st 7 and then try going longer between jabs, and titrating down, I really don't want to stop, but in reality I can't afford it.
I've had dental work recently, was OK with the anaesthetic, she was super enthusiastic with it as well, my whole bloody face was completely numb, and it was only for a deep clean lol.

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 02/07/2025 17:49

@Outsidebeanshop i have only injected in my stomach and there's plenty of flab there just avoid stretch marks as the one time it hurt was because i got one

No, I didn’t mention it as it was over so quickly and I was fine afterwards. I had update my list of prescribed medicine and was asked questions about other things on the list so I assume the dentist knew.

Reassuring that @LilyLondon hasn’t had this kind of response. I did wonder if it was the position that I was injected (back tooth) as it felt like it was going directly between my top and bottom jawbone, and thinking about it, I’d not eaten so that could have contributed maybe, or I’m developing an allergy like @Fatmumslim01

Spondoolie · 03/07/2025 05:06

Yeay. I have hit the three stone mark! I am so delighted.

This is nearly new territory for me - ie. I have lost and gained this 3 stone many times over the years so this feels life changing. 2-2.5 more to go!

You look fantastic

needtolose70lb · 03/07/2025 08:32

@TheSpoonyNavyReader you look absolutely fantastic and definitely not like mutton dressed as lamb!

im having a frustrating week. I last posted when id had a whoosh drop and then i have climbed each day since then, with a 2oz drop today. So I have lost just under 1lb this week but am still 1.5lb up on the whoosh! Confusing.

anyway, I am now squeaking over the 50lb loss which means squeaking under the 190lb mark and so I’m just going to focus on that.

oh and I forgot a NSV which is a pair of size 14 shorts for the first time in years and years so I definitely need to remember that.

wine has crept back in for me this week but I have also made some good choices for a meal out and with shopping and I’m proud of that.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 01/07/2025 17:47

I am putting up this photo because although I have been bouncing around the same weight for what feels like forever, I have to see how far I have come. Last worn this dress in 2018 and tonight I have tried it on because I am at a wedding this weekend never thought I would ever get in but it bloody fit.

If you are getting a stall fat is still coming off.

Flipping amazing!!!!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 03/07/2025 12:36

Outsidebeanshop · 01/07/2025 21:14

So many people at or near goal, doing amazingly!! Well done!!

I’m going to jab tonight after inadvertently missing a whole week due to being too late to order new pen.

Do you really think it does matter about injection sites? Is there a consensus as to which site is better for best suppression? Ive only ever done thighs, I would try stomach but mine is so fatty, like an apron belly where the recommended site is, that I think surely it would be less absorption because of all the fat?

what is SO INTERESTING TO ME is that having accidentally skipped a week I have really noticed that I have thought about food constantly, I have been so hungry, I have scoffed shit food and loads of it - how will I ever come off MJ 🙈 BUT wow my “digestion” has been wonderful, normal regular 💩 which I have really missed. On mj it’s constant flipping between diarrhea and constipation.

However, I am now the same weight as I was start of May so essentially I have put on and lost and put on and lost for the last 8 weeks - need to get focused again. I think I should have gone up to 7.5 but I didn’t, so guess will have to stick with 5 for the next 4 weeks

NSV - 3 people have made complementary remarks about weight loss and looking great in the last couple of weeks which gave me a boost (ironic since I haven’t lost any weight for the last 8 weeks!)

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine - sorry to hear things are stressful. I’m with you re: the wine! I’m having a self imposed total ban for a week. I Totally turn to it when I’m stressed and loved How at the start of my MJ journey I didn’t want it….well that didn’t last long 😂 I also feel like 2.5mg had a good impact for me, but 5mg seems a bit meh but i have been on 5 for ages and probably should have gone up to 7.5 this time but chickened out last minute. Starting new 5mg pen tonight. As you’ll see from above I’m also worried about the end!

Hello, and thanks, I'm feeling a bit better stress wise this week, and really trying hard on the wine front. I'm def worried about after MJ though. And about next week in fact!

I ordered a 7.5mg from oushk to be delivered next weds. Even this gives me 2 days "off" as I didnt order in time. I've been asked to book a weight verification call, first available is 24th July! I've emailed them to ask if this pen will be dispatched before then or not. It's the 2nd pen I've ordered from them.

Anyone else know?

Stephenkingsbiggestfan · 03/07/2025 16:32

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 01/07/2025 12:49

@Justformounjaro thank you. Trouble is, with wine, I dont choose the healthy option...I mentioned on here before that pre MJ my wine consumption was problematic. It's a bit all or nothing. I buy the wine. There's only me (and DC) in the house. Going through a very stressful divorce (pleased to be divorcing but he's being as difficult as possible costing me a fortune). I'd really cut down buts it's crept up again the last few weeks.

I jabbed last night, tge 5th dose from my 5mg pen. I jabbed .7ml so a bit over the 5mg. I will order 7.5 I think to give me options and hope it comes quickly!

😲 There's a healthy option with wine? Do spill, I'd love to know what it is. 😁

My weight loss injection journey continues, losing gradually.

Another half stone & I'm there, I think. Lord knows what will happen when the jabs stop... Everyone on them that I know on them balloons again eventually. 🫤

TryingMJ · 04/07/2025 08:08

Morning all, Friday morning weigh in here. After reaching goal last week (10 stone 0lbs) and deciding to press on and continue, I have had a whoosh this week! I’ve had a very stressful week at work, but I have been eating my usual mounjaro diet as far as I can think.

Start weight (Friday 28th February) 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight 9 stone 9.8lbs

Loss this week 4.2lbs

Total loss 3 stone 10.7lbs (52.7lbs)

I am 5’ 5” and 39 years old, start BMI was 30.9 (obese) and current is 22.6.

GameOfJones · 04/07/2025 09:33

@TheThrowawayNameCameDownTheTrack I think unfortunately that's the same with all diets. People put the weight back on unless they make long term changes to their lifestyle. I certainly have lost a lot of weight and eventually gained it all back.... multiple times.

I have decided that I really can't afford to continue so I've ordered my last pen but I do already have one stockpiled in the fridge and my current one to finish off. I'm currently on Week 18 and what I've paid for will take me to Week 30. I'm nearly 2.5 stone down and just over 1 stone left to go so I hope I can get there and give myself a few weeks of slowly weaning off. I've stayed on 5mg and don't really feel like I have suppression anymore and am relying on intermittent fasting and making sensible choices as much as possible. But obviously I may not realise until I stop that the MJ was still working for me even if I don't necessarily feel it.

I am reminding myself though that as I'll have plenty in stock I've got time to change my mind if I feel I want to continue after all.

For long term maintenance I'm keeping up with intermittent fasting. I've been doing it over a year anyway and it got my first stone off before I started MJ so I hope it can help me maintain. I do think we're going to need some tool to help us with maintenance but that will look different for different people.

Flamethrowers · 04/07/2025 09:36

Hello all, I'd like to say whoo I'm 9 stone 11 with.a BMI of 23 which is very very close to my goal (just a few pounds) but this has been achieved by what looks like a newly developed hideous fat malabsorption. And what that looks like is explosive diarrhea after eating anything that is not the most mild of fats. Triggered by party food at prom and consolidated by a scoop of ice cream and two Aperol spritzs in one week. Chat gpt thinks it's likely the beginning of a gall bladder issue - so it's back to complete clean eating for me for a few weeks and then considering my exit ramp. I'm so so anxious about my snoring returning though. I so don't want that to happen...

Fatmumslim01 · 04/07/2025 10:01

@TheSpoonyNavyReader you look absolutely fantastic love the dress!

Can't remember everyone's names but sounds like a few people are at or near to goal which is fabulous!

@GameOfJones sorry to hear you can't continue due to cost. Im also struggling with getting my head round that this will be very long term for me and it's a massive investment, DH doesn't get £100+ each month to spend on himself 😞 although it's an investment in my health and we are all noticing the difference eg last weekend we went the park and normally I'd watch while DC went up the hills etc as I'd be too out of breath whereas this time I could join in. I presume you know about the monj comparison site and are swapping each month for the cheapest option although I totally understand the massive cost.

Also I bought the DC some sand and it was 15kg and I could barely lift it from trolley to car. I've lost 2/3 of that and I think that put it into perspective!

I STS this week which I kind of expected as I don't think my (golden) dose last week went in right. I accidentally injected into a stretch mark so I had this bubble of liquid just under my skin, I pushed it down 😂 but I definitely haven't felt the usual effects this week and the no weight loss confirms that.

Here's my numbers this week

Started 21 march, 5 foot tall.

SW 14-7
CW 12-12
Mini goal 11-7.

Aboutmeabouttime · 04/07/2025 10:36

@Illbefinejustbloodyfinewith Oushk the weight verification call is once every six months I think. I had mine on Monday, took all of 3 minutes. I had ordered a pen beforehand though and I think that you have it booked it will be fine - have they answered your email?

I moved to them (2nd pen) thinking ahead to maintenance but feel a bit stuck, I know it’s daft but this last stone feels like a mountain... need to find my positive pants. I want a whoosh @TryingMJ!

GameOfJones · 04/07/2025 11:00

Thanks @Fatmumslim01 I do use discount codes etx but it's still £100+ a month. I'm ok about having a stop point, I'd originally said 3 months and it'll be 6. With what I've now got in the house I have another 12 weeks worth anyway so losing another stone or so in that time feels doable. I'll keep an eye on it and see how I go.

@Flamethrowers that's concerning about a potential gallbladder issue, it's a known side effect of Mounjaro but hopefully not!

soupforbrains · 04/07/2025 11:13

@TheThrowawayNameCameDownTheTrack not all wine is equal calorifically. If I recall white is lower calorie than red, sparkling wines are higher in sugar and calories and dry white wines are lower calorie than sweet. I assume that is what she’s referring to. But you can also buy low calorie wine there used to be one called Sly Pig and another called something like silver linings which I occasionally bought years ago.

@Flamethrowerssorry to hear about the malabsorption and diarrhoea. Was it yoo who is, like me, an under active thyroid sufferer? If so worth having another review because I’ve heard of fat malabsorption being connected to thyroid med levels being off.

I would really like a whoosh. I’ve not had one for AGES. Mostly I’ve been losing 1-2lbs each week. Don’t get me wrong I’m really happy to be consistently losing. But it’s hard to be plodding along when I still have over 5 stone to lose.

I know some of you will think I’m mad but I go on holiday next Friday. I will be continuing to jab throughout and I am taking my scales with me. I don’t find that on MJ I can’t enjoy food. I absolutely can. So I see no reason to stop the jabs. And while I’m not going to be particularly trying to lose weight while we are aw I want to be able to monitor to make sure I’m not gaining a lot as if I come home having gained more than I can shift again in a week it will impact my morale far more severely than weighing on holiday will.

How did you manage to get 12 weeks worth built up? I would like to build up a bit of a stash incase of any shortages etc and also I have a couple of holidays the next few months but I'm worried about ordering too soon and getting flagged up or something?

GameOfJones · 04/07/2025 12:19

@Fatmumslim01 I always do the golden dose so have 5 weeks work in a pen but my supplier (Phlo) would remind me around the 3 week mark to reorder as technically a pen should only last me 4 weeks. It's meant over the past few months I've had a new pen in the fridge while I'm still using up the current pen and now am at the point of having two pens in the fridge so 10 weeks worth and my 4th and 5th dose in my current pen.

I've not intentionally stockpiled but I would feel anxious about ordering late and the new pen not arriving in time or me not being in for delivery.
