Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

Sounds like a very sensible plan @TheBossOfMe . You've done brilliantly!

Ingangoolie · 01/07/2025 17:47

@Amjam2025 Agreed @TheBossOfMe that plan sounds good, the gradual reduction in MJ and the slow increase in calories. I’m not calorie counting so for me it will be about bringing back a little more carbohydrate and sweet stuff slowly and consistently. And keeping on with some kind of intermittent fasting.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 01/07/2025 17:47

I am putting up this photo because although I have been bouncing around the same weight for what feels like forever, I have to see how far I have come. Last worn this dress in 2018 and tonight I have tried it on because I am at a wedding this weekend never thought I would ever get in but it bloody fit.

If you are getting a stall fat is still coming off.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader Can’t wait to see you in the dress

Amjam2025 · 01/07/2025 17:53

@Ingangoolie @TheBossOfMe I hadn't thought about how I would re-introduce calories (when i'm at maintenence weight I think I'll be going from approx 1200 up to 1500) think I was planning on just going straight up, but after reading your post it makes absolutely sense to do it slowly, graduallly and sensibly. Good advice Boss

Yetanotherusername2000 · 01/07/2025 17:53

My new job is quite desk based! I feel like I’m turning into a potato already….

BeaTwix · 01/07/2025 21:12

Hi all. Better week here for diet/ weightless - managed to eat sensibly and track.

Although I triggered off something terrible GI wise on Friday last week and had loads of diarrhoea. I've got acquired dairy intolerance post gastroenteritis and I think I accidentally ate something that was quite buttery.

SW - 127kg
CW - 116kg (20% of target now lost)
GW - 73kg.

I knew this was going to be a long haul and the changes feel quite sustainable. So fingers crossed I can keep moving forward.

There are NSV - people are noticing I'm losing weight. My clothes fit better (and I too have baggy bra syndrome).

Next mini goals - BMI <40 (hopefully next weigh day) and complete my first two stones off (just realised that means I had almost 10 stones to loose OMFG).

Outsidebeanshop · 01/07/2025 21:14

So many people at or near goal, doing amazingly!! Well done!!

I’m going to jab tonight after inadvertently missing a whole week due to being too late to order new pen.

Do you really think it does matter about injection sites? Is there a consensus as to which site is better for best suppression? Ive only ever done thighs, I would try stomach but mine is so fatty, like an apron belly where the recommended site is, that I think surely it would be less absorption because of all the fat?

what is SO INTERESTING TO ME is that having accidentally skipped a week I have really noticed that I have thought about food constantly, I have been so hungry, I have scoffed shit food and loads of it - how will I ever come off MJ 🙈 BUT wow my “digestion” has been wonderful, normal regular 💩 which I have really missed. On mj it’s constant flipping between diarrhea and constipation.

However, I am now the same weight as I was start of May so essentially I have put on and lost and put on and lost for the last 8 weeks - need to get focused again. I think I should have gone up to 7.5 but I didn’t, so guess will have to stick with 5 for the next 4 weeks

NSV - 3 people have made complementary remarks about weight loss and looking great in the last couple of weeks which gave me a boost (ironic since I haven’t lost any weight for the last 8 weeks!)

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine - sorry to hear things are stressful. I’m with you re: the wine! I’m having a self imposed total ban for a week. I Totally turn to it when I’m stressed and loved How at the start of my MJ journey I didn’t want it….well that didn’t last long 😂 I also feel like 2.5mg had a good impact for me, but 5mg seems a bit meh but i have been on 5 for ages and probably should have gone up to 7.5 this time but chickened out last minute. Starting new 5mg pen tonight. As you’ll see from above I’m also worried about the end!

Flaitch · 01/07/2025 21:42

Great to catch up on everyone’s journeys. Well done everyone 🙌
My poo situation is still on going🙄 taking magnesium with my psyllium husk, worked to start with but back to once/twice a week if I am lucky!
SE of nausea has always been around on 5mg but feel it’s getting worse as the weeks go on. Changed jag day last week to aline with a holiday in approx 3 weeks so jagged later, but still the nausea continued as my amount should have been decreasing. Took the golden dose on Saturday which worked out at .7ml. Good god 😳 was up during the night being sick then sick again on Sunday ☹️. So have stuck with 5mg for new pen as don’t want to go through that again!
Looking at the bigger picture and that I’m still loosing albeit a bit slower than some and the plateau seems to be gone.
SW 13.4
1st June 11.7
1st July 11.1.5
so since March that’s over 2 stones which I wouldn’t have achieved without this.
Ideally I wanted to be min 10.7 by the 23rd July for my holiday. But went shopping in the suitcase that hasn’t been touched since 2020 and loads of things fit again!! So have to take the positives. Had a drs appointment today and she weighed me, on their scales I was 68kg that’s 10.7? Maybe just take that😝

Have you tried prune juice? That really works for me when I’m constipated (which is regularly on MJ - unless it’s diarrhoea 🙈) or lactulose. I basically lived on lactulose when I was pregnant

Flaitch · 01/07/2025 22:00

@Outsidebeanshop lactulose doesn’t work for me☹️ had it post pregnancy. I’m going to look for prune juice but I have a very bad gag reflex 😝 so have visions that I won’t be able to keep it down 🤣🤣

i have found it’s an acquired taste and when I have it for the first time in a while it’s pretty rank (have it really cold, just neck it without breathing then a squash chaser 😂) but actually the next few days, if I still need it, I don’t mind the taste. Good luck! I’m just over an incident of piles (TMI?! 😂) which I am desperately hoping to avoid in the future so will defo be on it with the prune juice too!!

Ingangoolie · 01/07/2025 22:34

@Outsidebeanshop take the plunge and go in and get some beans

Ingangoolie · 01/07/2025 22:34

@Outsidebeanshop and then give some to @Flaitch

Bipaloss · 01/07/2025 22:57

Hi all,

this is going to be a TMI one

since MJ I have been clockwork , always been too, 28 day cycle. Since MJ the cramps has been tougher but it’s ok because I have it for 1-3 days. This time it arrive 1 days early which I’m not too concerned about

this time around (4th time) there wasn’t cramps but an uncomfortable feeling almost like I have a UTI instead

and yesterday and today I have passed several large clots , size of what I had after DS1 and DS2

I did have the cervical screening 2 weeks ago, could this be the reason or MJ? Anyone else passed clots (talking several )

sorry for TMI

I did notice I have had heavier but shorter periods although last month was back to (relatively) normal.

Outsidebeanshop · 01/07/2025 23:52

@Bipaloss sorry I can’t really say, as since mine started in March again after baby they have been heavier than before. But this is also when I started MJ so I don’t know what to attribute to what 🙈

northernlight20 · 02/07/2025 08:09

Hi everyone, weigh and jab day today.
sw 114.4kg
cw 97.1kg
fantastic to read about everyone’s achievements, hope everyone has a good day.

EchoNova · 02/07/2025 08:43

@TheBossOfMe your plan for maintenance sounds really good. Thanks so much for explaining it all to me. I might follow that and see how I get on too. I'm so worried about starting to put weight on and like you will have to weigh myself everyday to keep myself accountable as I know I can very easily go off the rails.

My GW is 10 stone 5 lb and I'm 10stone 9lbs this morning so I think
I may try and get down to 10 stone 2lb just to give myself a bit of wiggle room before I start maintenance. I have an all inclusive holiday coming up in 3 weeks so I won't be starting maintenance until after that (knowing my luck I'll get to target the week before I go and put undo all the good work when I'm away).

seasidehunter · 02/07/2025 10:23

@EchoNova You won't be undoing your good work - you'll be enjoying a holiday! Life is too short not to enjoy yourself, and you know you can sort it out when you get back. It's just about finding the right balance. I say this as someone about to head on holiday at the weekend and I'm fully aware that I'll come back a bit heavier, but will just sort it out then and will not feel guilty about having a nice time while I'm away.

tryingtobesogood · 02/07/2025 10:40

@EchoNova I went on holiday for 2 weeks in June and only put on 2lbs, which I then lost quickly afterwards. I carried on eating healthily but also had the odd ice cream, drank wine and had the odd pastry for breakfast. Isn't this what it is about? being able to go on holiday, enjoy ourselves and then deal with any gain when we get home by returning to our normal eating.

TheBossOfMe · 02/07/2025 11:01

@EchoNova Definitely enjoy yourself on holiday and just reset when you're back.

On the maintenance titration, again there isn't that much data on best way to do it, but a lot of the post MJ studies are on people who just went cold turkey at goal, and that seems to be a problem that can lead to rapid gain. Probably because the body and mind does need to slowly readjust to less suppression, return of food noise, hunger pangs etc. It's my jab day tomorrow and I'm absolutely ravenous this morning, which is unusual for me now, so I'm just learning to deal with that by eating a couple of slices of apple and not go and fridge pick. And drink lots of water.

TheBossOfMe · 02/07/2025 13:25

@TheSpoonyNavyReader Looking fab in that dress!

Justformounjaro · 02/07/2025 13:31

Has anyone read anything to suggest that an anaesthetic injection at the dentist might not be a good idea if you are taking Mounjaro? I know if I had to have a general anaesthetic they need to be aware but, I had a filling at the dentist and had a really weird minute or so after the injection.

I felt woozy like I’d been drinking, and then my heart started racing. The heart racing might have been my mind working overtime just in case I’d missed reading something that said it wasn’t to be done, but the wooziness I’ve never experienced before, and I’m not in any way afraid of the dentist. I honestly thought I’d not be able to drive home (I was perfectly fine by the time the anaesthetic had kicked in). It was very odd.

Justformounjaro · 02/07/2025 13:45

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine Divorcing is just a shitty time, and even worse when it’s not amicable. You have my sympathies.

I have often suggested, in all seriousness, a punchbag to divorcing friends, although I made do with a rolling pin and the sofa cushions. A punchbag would give you exercise as well as a means to vent your frustration.
