Anyone starting Mounjaro this weekend?

Is anyone else starting Mounjaro this weekend and fancies a support thread please join along.

I did my first injection tonight. I absolutely hate needles but found it surprisingly ok, think my last pregnancy & a complicated birth has made me a little less sensitive!

@ThatCoolDenimSquidI was quite headachey the day after the jab but it subsided pretty quickly!! Good luck!

Well, Day 2 and no headache this morning!
I think I feel bloated but tbh I think I'm looking for side effects rather than having them 😜
I ate all my dinner last night. Now I'm thinking I'm the one person who is not going to lose weight using Mounjaro.

I want to start asap. 2 stone to lose. where should I order from? Are medexpress good? How much is it per month? Thanks for any advice.

I used Medical Express. There was a delay in the delivery. It cost me £123 for the first pen.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 15/06/2025 10:18

@ThatCoolDenimSquidI do wonder if half of it is in my head because it’s only 2.5mg but even if it’s placebo it seems to be working! (so far).

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 15/06/2025 14:33

@Yabbadabbadooooooo I am with MedExpress my first pen cost £114 - got £40 off with a referral code from my friend (she also then got £40 off her next one). We all get referral codes and happy to give you one if you decide to go to MedExpress

Moderatelyobese · 15/06/2025 15:28

My MedExpress order is still marked as Awaiting Clinical Review, a week on. So annoying.

That is really annoying, I did mine of the Friday night about 9pm and it arrived on the Monday, I was gobsmacked. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

hope1000 · 15/06/2025 17:46

I used Numan and it was really quick and easy. Only had to take photo one from side and one in front, filled out questionnaire. Had to wait 24hrs for review. Only problem is the next pen is more expensive so I might try elsewhere. Think people shop around as introductory offer is usually cheaper. It’s £100 referral for Numan for both parties. Let me know if anyone wants a referral.

I feel rubbish today, week 2, day 2
nausea is awful, wondering if anti sickness tablets might help?

hope1000 · 15/06/2025 17:53

Out of interest on other sites does the pen go up in price? Even if you stay on same dose?

RatherTardy · 15/06/2025 18:41

It does at Lloyds pharmacy

hope1000 · 16/06/2025 10:05

Week 2 day 3
i feel awful. Really nauseous 🤢 trying to get ready for the day is such a challenge. So difficult to cook not alone eat anything. Going by my spreadsheet I felt exactly the same last week on the same days so far so hoping by tomorrow it will get easier. Anyone else feel crap?

ThatCoolDenimSquid · 16/06/2025 13:34

hope1000 - sorry your'e feeling so bad! If you had the same reaction last week then it could just be your body reacting to the medication. Did the nausea fade away last week? how long did it take? I'm on Week 1 Day 3 and the nausea has really kicked in 😶- I haven't eaten anything, but i've had an Actimel yog drink, and a coffee with oat milk. Last night I was taking Rennie to try and get rid of the bloat feeling but it didn't do anything 😂

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 16/06/2025 16:32

Hope1000 I hope it settles soon, nausea is awful.
I’m feeling crap today, but that’s only because I have picked up a cold.

I have had half a protein shake and 2 jelly babies all day. It’s weird because the food noise is there today for the first time since I started, and I feel like I want to eat crap, but then when I actually look at the brownies in my cupboard I don’t want them.
Hoping the food noise is not going to last as I have been doing well.

VashtaNerada · 16/06/2025 21:50

@hope1000 mine was very similar but seems to be getting better in Week 3.

hope1000 · 16/06/2025 23:02

Thanks all. This has been the worse day by far! Been absolutely exhausted. I took some gaviscon tonight and let out quite a few burps (sorry if tmi) but that has really helped. Managed a protein shake, slice of rye bread with a few strawberries and that is it- fingers crossed for tomorrow it will ease. Really don’t want to wait until next week Confused Have no hunger at all. There’s no way I could even consider the 5ml dose!

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 17/06/2025 06:39

Really sorry to hear that @hope1000- did you feel the same in week 1?
I’ve seen on other threads some women have dropped to 1.25mg (counted the clicks) and had less side effects or it was more manageable.

I got up extra early this morning and did a weights workout only for 20 mins, and I could only manage half the reps but hey it’s the most exercise I’ve done since last year. Gotta start somewhere. I just felt really pathetic!

I’m also due on my period so feeling a bit despondent, bloated, frustrated I’m not slim already. Which is silly I know. Feel like I’m itching to take my next jab.

I also can’t go to the loo 😒 are we ok to take any laxatives??

Lila21 · 17/06/2025 08:17

Sorry you are feeling so rubbish @hope1000 hope you feel better today.
I am on day 5 and today my period arrived 2 weeks early which I've never had before! Has anyone heard of that being a known side effect? I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence or perimenopause or both...!🙄

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 17/06/2025 08:42

Morning everyone! I’m W2D4 and I am so HUNGRY 😭 what is happening?! Did anyone feel less suppression on W2? I’m consciously making better choices but it is so hard compared to last week when I actually wanted the healthier options.

hope1000 · 17/06/2025 09:03

Week 2 day 4
really turned a corner today. Had a long 10hour sleep and a gaviscon and I’m up not feeling as queasy. Cooked eggs, avo and tomatoes this morning. Most I’ve eaten since Saturday! Definitely have appetite today today @PleaseAndThankYou12although I felt stuffed after that small breakfast.

Not sure about periods- I’ve heard that the jab can mess up the cycle and that’s why some ladies are falling pregnant.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 17/06/2025 10:42

@Lila21Mine is late 🫣 so can’t help you there!

Mine came early this month! I came on last week which was about 10 days earlier but I'd put it down to emergency contraception effects (DH has a GP appt to discuss vasectomy ASAP 😒)

I'm feeling pretty good and side effect free at week 2 day 4. Definitely don't feel any slimmer though, and share the impatience and frustration! I don't think the heat helps as I always feel big and hot and sweaty 😰 when it's warm. Hopefully next summer will be different!

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 17/06/2025 14:33

@PleaseAndThankYou12 me, I feel much less affected this second week. I have eaten chocolate and picked a few crisps in the evening. Gutted. I had even put a pound on a couple of days ago, will weigh again on Thursday. I am still eating a lot less than before.
Today is W2D5 and weirdly it's all a bit better again today, a bit less of the old food noise! I got such a shock when I realised I wasn't as suppressed as last week.
I had been congratulating myself on how magnificently I was doing on .25 and thinking I would stay on it for the next dose. Nah, I will be needing that increase.

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 17/06/2025 23:49

@YepIChangedMyNameForThis I am exactly the same! I’ve also had a period for the first time in almost two years (PCOS; I have the Mirena coil) so I think that’s got me all over the place too 😂 I need to really try to keep my cals low and my water intake high over the next few days - weigh day Friday! Eeeeeek

KopAl · 18/06/2025 00:07

Hi there. Well at 3 stone lighter, it’s not my first week. That was at the end of September 24.

The best advice I can give is drink lots of water. My measure has been 1.5l bottles as a minimum per day. I have gone off breakfast and now see it as a fasting option. Swap sides of injection sites. My last few have been in my arm, underneath. Bizarrely my right arm makes me itch and the left doesn’t.
Keep up with multi vitamins and I get those fizzy tablets. More liquid again. Take your time and pace yourself. Don’t overeat. You will feel unwell. I also have probiotics, Bimino, in a protein yogurt. This drug is a game changer! Good luck. Xx

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 18/06/2025 07:02

It’s my weigh day tomorrow to mark the end of week 1 and given that I haven’t been able to go to the toilet in three days I feel like I’m going to show heavier than I actually am.
Took two senna last night and got no movement whatsoever!

hope1000 · 18/06/2025 21:00

Thanks for sharing your experience @KopAl. Did you get any side effects at the beginning? If so when did they stop? Hopefully u are not still having them. Don’t think I can manage feeling this rubbish long term.

good luck @TouchOfSilverShampoo for tomorrows weigh in, and for anyone else.

i still feel rubbish today, had a small 1/4 quiche and salad and then felt so ill after- this is ridiculous. Also have ache in my lower back- not sure if i slept badly or a side effect.
