Anyone starting Mounjaro this weekend?

Is anyone else starting Mounjaro this weekend and fancies a support thread please join along.

I did my first injection tonight. I absolutely hate needles but found it surprisingly ok, think my last pregnancy & a complicated birth has made me a little less sensitive!

@IDontHaveTimeForFoolishness how are you feeling today.

I had mine Thursday evening, so I guess I am day 4 , I am ok, nausea less today but was only a low level nausea anyway. I felt a bit hungover today but nothing like normal. Still only are a late breakfast and my evening meal (less than usual). All good so far.

I’m definitely eating much less. I did have a sandwich just before bed last night so my sugar levels are up, must be careful about that and eat earlier in the evening.

My GP said to make sure I eat protein with each meal, so eg recommended protein yoghurt on a morning. Plus take a multivitamin each day to make sure my body absorbs what it needs.

Did anyone get any other advice?

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 10/06/2025 10:09

I hit my first mishap last night, my husband made chicken curry for dinner. By made I mean he opened a jar, I had some and some rice.
One of the kids had a bag of crisps and I took one. Nice.
Couple of hours later I thought erm yep a little peckish I will just have a few crisps. Probably had about 5 Frazzles. Within a few mins I had a bit of tummy ache and was up twice in the night for the loo. Tummy still feels a bit sore now. But ok.
It is definitely the grease/oil for me!

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 10/06/2025 10:10

@eze good reminder about the multivitamins. Thank you

Wk 1 day 4, felt peckish for the first time. So cooked up some poached eggs, cucumber tomato and slice of sour dough.. sat down to eat it and then didn’t fancy it. Forced the eggs down which felt like tasted of nothing. Had a couple of bites of everything else, now feel so stuffed as if I have just demolished a full English! Really struggled to eat it. Gone off coffee, tea and fizzy drinks. Feel like I have lost my taste. Anyone feel the same? I slept very well last night.

Not exactly the same but I am off chocolate which is my number 1 vice!! Obviously that's helpful with the healthier eating so I'm not complaining. Even though I'm on my period this week so usually have chocolate 10 x a day I've had none so far this week!

@ That’s great news for you! I’m off of so many things atm. Even crisps, and butter!

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 10/06/2025 18:37

@hope1000I am basically completely off fizzy drinks, tea & coffee! I had a can of Pepsi Max on Sunday evening with my dinner and only drank about half of it. I’ve only had 1 cup of tea last night before bed and I didn’t enjoy it like I usually do! But on the plus side, I’m drinking 3-4l of water every day so I shouldn’t complain lol!

Icedcaramelfrappe · 10/06/2025 18:41

Good luck to you all, it's the best thing I have ever done for myself.

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 10/06/2025 23:11

I really need to drink more, struggling a bit as I am not feeling thirsty. My appetite is really low which is good, and I am only managing small meals before being too full to eat more.
So tempted to get on the scales, but trying to wait until Saturday which will be one week done.
Side effects are definitely much less, and I haven’t been nearly as tired today!

Hope everyone is doing well so far 😊

hope1000 · 11/06/2025 14:33

Wk1 day 5
feel so much better today. Had a coffee at last and able to eat a bit more. Keep reminding myself to drink water too. Out of interest which companies are you buying from? Are we allowed to ask that on here? I’m with Numan. Just wondering if anyone else with the same company.

CreepingCrone · 11/06/2025 17:55

Hi Lovelies, I've just ordered MJ, so I'll start once it arrives. Following this thread for inspo 💜

VashtaNerada · 11/06/2025 19:49

Coming to the end of Week 2 for me now. I seem to get very unwell around days 2/3 after each jab and then feel better again. Will be interesting if I have the same pattern with jab 3. Have decided to stick with 2.5 for the time being as the weight is coming off at this level so I’ll stay with it until I feel it’s not working any more.

Proudmummy67 · 11/06/2025 21:41

I'm on day 4 and feeling great! Appetite is definitely suppressed and i'm not fancying chocolate either! Trying to wait till Saturday to weigh myself. I hope it's working!

DoingItForTheKids25 · 12/06/2025 00:13

I've felt a bit rubbish today, might be more emotions related though as had a really hard morning getting my eldest to school (she's autistic and having a hard time atm). Had stomach cramps for most of the morning and ended up having ice cream this evening which feels bizarre as I'd not had any food noise til today at all. Wonder if it's because it's been 5 days, could it be wearing off maybe? I'm still doing 5;2 and it's a fast day tomorrow so hopefully will all even out over the week either way.

I bought mine via Asda but looking at other options and SheMed is highly rated apparently. Anyone used them?

Quoting myself because if anyone else is a medication nerd like me, MJ actually does have a half life of 5 days and is 50% less effective after that time! So it wasn't all in my head. Going to do my best to supplement with willpower til Friday evening 😅

Week 1 , day 6- headache
last night craved strawberries at 10pm so had a couple before bed. Body prob asking for sugar. Devoured eggs this morning with 1 slice of rye toast. Feeling pretty full now still.

@DoingItForTheKids25yes definitely can stomach more food from day 5. Managed 3 small meals at last. Saturday jab day and feels a long way off, hope I don’t crave bad food from here til then. When is your jab day?

@VashtaNeradathat’s interesting as that’s how I feel it’s working for me to.

welcome @CreepingCrone
good to share experiences

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 12/06/2025 09:51

Hi All

Weigh day here and I have lost 4.5lbs and really chuffed.

It definitely started wearing off by Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't that I was ravenous, more that I had an appetite again.

2nd jab tonight and hoping that it all.goes as easily as last week.

Everyone doing ok?

Someone asked what company we are using, MedExpress for me. I have no experience of any others but the delivery was so quick. Filled out the consultation forms on a Friday evening and she delivery arrived on the Monday, I wasn't expecting it to be processed till the Monday!!

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 12/06/2025 13:59

@YepIChangedMyNameForThis that’s a great loss - well done!

I’m W1D6 and I have been hungry since last night 😂 trying to stick to my 3 meals and one small snack. The chocolate is starting to call me again!

I’m going to stick to jabbing on a Friday evening, then a nice bath and an early night - and hopefully a good sleep! Has anyone else found that they’re REALLY tired?! I’ve had a few naps during the day and then slept a full 8 hours at night! Hoping it’s just my body adjusting to not having all the usual sugar etc.

I also feel like my muscles are tired and that’s kind of holding me back from exercising. Here’s hoping W2 will mean my body is used to the jab!

DoingItForTheKids25 · 12/06/2025 14:54

I'm a Friday evening jabber too.

Well done on the weight loss @YepIChangedMyNameForThis that's really motivating! I'm on my second fast day this week (I'm doing 5:2), first one was Monday and I'm going to make sure I do Monday and Wednesday next week as I'm definitely noticing food noise and hunger more today which makes it harder!

Hello! I’m planning to give MJ another go after crashing and burning last year.
I ordered with MedExpress on Sunday and uploaded photos on Monday. Nothing since then - my order status is still “awaiting clinical review”. Anyone know if that’s standard at the moment, or should I chase them? I seem to remember it being faster when I was ordering from them last year.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 13/06/2025 06:05

Hi guys, after a week of procrastination I finally did it last night. I’m pleased it was way easier than I envisioned.

Is anyone getting syringes to get the final 0.6 out?

Woke up and expected to feel totally different?? I’m exactly the same except I might need to go to the loo 😂

I am however, feeling super motivated. Trying to plan my weekend so I can start getting some actual exercise in.

My vices are carbs and wine. I do have a big event at the end of this month where I would like to have a few drinks but let’s see what happens.

Week one - 2.5mg
SW - 12st5
GW - 10st

I hope that everyone is feeling ok! And please share food inspiration!

I’m using Cronometer to track, apparently it’s more accurate than my fitness pal

Lila21 · 13/06/2025 08:19

I also finally just did it! Now nervously waiting for side effects ...eeek !
Can you still store the pen in the fridge after it's been used or does it have to be at room temperature?

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 13/06/2025 08:24

Morning everyone!

Week 1 is over and it’s weigh day… I’m 8lbs down! I can’t believe it! I am over the moon. Happy feckin’ Friday! 😊
