Anyone starting Mounjaro this weekend?

Is anyone else starting Mounjaro this weekend and fancies a support thread please join along.

I did my first injection tonight. I absolutely hate needles but found it surprisingly ok, think my last pregnancy & a complicated birth has made me a little less sensitive!

@PleaseAndThankYou12Thats amazing! Well done!!

Whats your goal? Keep going!

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 13/06/2025 15:07

@Lila21I put mine back in the fridge 🤷🏼‍♀️ Not sure if that’s right?

First jab last night, this morning decided to eat a boiled eat about 10am because I felt like I should, not because I was hungry.

Had my lunch which was mainly half a chicken breast.

So far no hideous side effects, just insanely thirsty and a few short random waves of nausea. All totally manageable.

Wondering what on earth to do for dinner later because I am really not arsed!!

ThatCoolDenimSquid · 13/06/2025 18:54

hi, like several of the previous posters I am extremely nervous about doing the first injection! I am preparing myself to do it tonight. I am desperate to lose weight for the same reasons others have mentioned. I am sure that I will get all the side effects going and have been feeling nauseous, bloated and gassy all day just from the anticipation!
SW: 98kg
GW: 63 kg
Height: 163 cms
So thats 35kg to lose - it sounds an awful lot.
I really want to be successful to improve my overrall health, to be able to join an exercise group at a reasonable weight instead of my current "Whale" status, and to reduce my cholestorol level.

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 13/06/2025 19:01

@TouchOfSilverShampoo thank you so much 😊 realistically, I need to lose around 10st to have a “healthy” BMI. But my mini goal (end of summer) is 2st, then maybe another 2 by the end of the year 🤞🏼

hope1000 · 13/06/2025 19:12

week 1 day 7
well done @DoingItForTheKids25 and @PleaseAndThankYou12for your great losses! Great inspirations!
Jab and weigh day for me tomorrow morning. Running around house now to get it all in order as last weekend was a wipe out, felt so sick 🤢

Today I have more of appetite, definitely feel that it’s worn off. Still no energy to exercise.

yes I store my pen in fridge in a wasabi tube box/ didn’t have a tomato paste one (saw a recommendation somewhere)! So nobody will see it.

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 13/06/2025 19:19

@hope1000 thank you so much - that’s so kind! Good luck for weigh day tomorrow - let us know how you get one 😊 I’ve been the same, my appetite has definitely heightened the past day or so. But I’m exhausted so there’s been no chance of exercise 🤦🏻‍♀️

Eze · 13/06/2025 20:13

I’ve definitely had more of the sweet calling today but I still wanting to eat less than usual. I did struggle to stay awake in the office this afternoon, it was hot and stuffy which didn’t help.

I’m going to keep to my Saturday morning jab for now. If I get more nausea then I’ll swap to Fri eve to sleep through it.

VashtaNerada · 13/06/2025 20:28

@Lila21 I think the pen can only survive for 30 days outside of the fridge, so if you’re using the whole pen in 30 days (which you should do) it won’t matter where you store it from day one onwards but it makes sense to keep it in the fridge up to that point.

Lila21 · 13/06/2025 22:51

Thanks for the storage advice, have popped it back in the fridge.

Having been super worried about side effects I don't seem to feel any different at all - maybe it's too soon haha?!

I've been hungry all day and eaten loads as I stress eat and I'm stressed ! Argh. Has anyone else had this? Xx

DoingItForTheKids25 · 14/06/2025 00:17

End of week one and I'm 3.3kg down (although that's over the last 2 weeks not just the one week of doing jabs) which is around 7 pounds. Happy with that tbh! Second jab tonight was very easy i had to double check I'd done it properly as it didn't hurt at all this time.

@ThatCoolDenimSquid I've got very similar starting and goal weights to you, feels intimidating when you see it written out but we can do this!

Had chip shop chips at lunchtime today and almost threw up because of the grease 😩

Eze · 14/06/2025 06:28

I’m also similar with starting goal. 5lbs down this week, my before breakfast blood sugars have fluctuated so need to be patient with that. About to do my jab.

🤞we all have another good week.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 14/06/2025 08:05

@PleaseAndThankYou12Sounds daunting but just think, by the end of the year you’ll be halfway there!

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 14/06/2025 08:07

@Ezeand @DoingItForTheKids25Those are amazing losses for the first week!!! So pleased for you.

Would anyone mind sharing their daily menus? I’m worried I’m not going to hit enough protein.

You guys make me excited for my week 1 weigh in.

PleaseAndThankYou12 · 14/06/2025 08:27

@TouchOfSilverShampoothat’s a great way of looking at it - thank you! 😊

I work from home 3 days a week so my meals are really whatever I fancy at the time! I’ve been trying to have eggs in some form for breakfast, lunch is usually tuna (I’ve had it with a salad, a baked potato or just on a slice of protein bagel or flatbread) and then dinner is usually chicken with veg… I’ll make potatoes or something alongside it but I rarely have the room for them! I really recommend the MyProtein Clear Whey, they do some great flavours that taste just like juice (my personal favourite is peach iced tea!) and it’s a sure way of getting some extra protein 😊 I’ve also been trying to get protein yoghurts, some of them aren’t too bad.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 14/06/2025 08:38

@PleaseAndThankYou12Ooooh I ordered the clear protein in peach and it’s being delivered today! Glad it’s recommended because I’m not a protein shake person so I hoped this was more palatable.

I just hope that my motivation doesn’t wane by the end of the week.

hope1000 · 14/06/2025 09:22

Week 2 day 1

Good morning all! I’m delighted to say that the scales were very kind this morning! 5.5lbs off in a week! Very pleased with that. Hoping for another good week. Fingers crossed for you all.

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 14/06/2025 12:13

Well done all, what fab results. I had 2nd jab Thursday night and have to say I was a bit nauseous and exhausted yesterday. I could have slept standing up! But pretty much back to normal now (permanently tired working mum and wife 😂)

I really hope to start adjusting to the tiredness and start being more on it with meal plans and exercise pretty soon.

Still thrilled with the results and looking forward to this week's results. Anybody thinking of doing it and holding back don't be put off by my tiredness of yesterday! It is a small price to pay and the reality is I have been on a hamster wheel for weeks and knackered anyway!

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 14/06/2025 13:38

Hi all, some great results being posted, well done all!
I have had my end of week one weigh today and I am down 6 pounds. I can’t quite believe it, I don’t think I have ever lost that much in a week.

Second injection today, and on to week 2 😊

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 14/06/2025 13:42

Forgot to add, I have also bought clear protein from My Protein.
I got the Vimto flavour and it’s not bad (if you like Vimto obviously!). You can tell it’s not just juice, but it does taste nice.
Going to get the peach one next after the recommendations on here, thank you!

ThatCoolDenimSquid · 14/06/2025 18:13

I did it 😂 first jab last night.
Bit of a headache this morning but ok. No nausea yet. Can't tell if I'm hungry or not lol 😆
I've not really eaten properly so far but I did make myself a smoothie earlier, which I enjoyed. I'm gonna make salmon and new potatoes for dinner so I'll be interested to see if I can eat it all 😜

hope1000 · 14/06/2025 20:41

As for menus of the week @TouchOfSilverShampoo, I really didn’t fancy much at the start as I felt sick up until day 4/5 so was eating what I could. Have had 2poached eggs every day, avocado, cucumber and tomatoes for breakfast. Lunch - soup or a shake / protein yoghurt/or protein mousse. Dinner- salmon with salad or chicken, & falafels with salad. As I said I really didn’t fancy any grease so tried to keep it clean. Had to cook a big chicken for a roast - so I kept picking at left over chicken to keep my energy up.

Yabbadabbadooooooo · 14/06/2025 22:25

I want to start asap. 2 stone to lose. where should I order from? Are medexpress good? How much is it per month? Thanks for any advice.

RatherTardy · 15/06/2025 08:11

Hello. May I jump in?
Started on Wednesday night.
I used Lloyds pharmacy, and they were super quick.... registered Monday night, sent videos Tuesday morning, got the meds on Wednesday.
Hardly any side effects, which I'm relieved about. Quite peckish in the evenings, but ignoreable, and not really eating after lunchtime (although yesterday "lunch" was mid afternoon).
Today is my weigh day (I have a spreadsheet and take measurements) and I've lost 4lb so far, which I'm thrilled about. It's not really showing on the tape measure yet though. Hopefully by next week.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 15/06/2025 09:06

My weigh day isn’t until Thursday but I did a sneaky on the scales this morning and I’m 3lb down.

I have had a slightly upset stomach this morning which isn’t great but manageable.

Felt a little dizzy at points too but probably because I’m not eating enough. Will make a conscious effort to do little and often.

@YabbadabbadoooooooI used Lloyd’s pharmacy - they were really quick too and not too expensive.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 15/06/2025 09:12

@ThatCoolDenimSquidI was quite headachey the day after the jab but it subsided pretty quickly!! Good luck!
