Anyone starting Mounjaro this weekend?

Is anyone else starting Mounjaro this weekend and fancies a support thread please join along.

I did my first injection tonight. I absolutely hate needles but found it surprisingly ok, think my last pregnancy & a complicated birth has made me a little less sensitive!

Me too, I’ve been trying to lose weight for most of my adult life. I lose some in the beginning, but have always put it back on and more.
Really hoping I am more successful with this 🤞

Me, too. I am hoping that if I can just get to my goal weight I'll finally have the motivation to stay there. 2.5 stones ideally. The worst thing is that I keep asking myself what the hell is wrong with me that I can lose upwards of a stone sometimes and then just let it all creep back on. I need something that will do it for me quickly as a bit of a crutch, I think. 🙄

Hi all just a quick query! Looking at possibly starting WLI but was wondering how pushy GPs have been about exercise and joining weight loss groups? I work part time, have two small children and not much disposable income so not much opportunity to get to the gym 😬 I do walk a lot but I don't want to be turned down if I can't commit to the exercise requirements... Any advice greatly appreciated!

Not sure to be honest, my BMI isn't high enough for the GP on this one, but I would have thought that a commitment to a healthy diet and plenty of walking should be enough.

Hi everyone!
I'm going to take my first jab this evening.
Ideally I've got 5 stone to lose.
I'm going on holiday at the end of July so would like to shift a little bit before then if I can. Hoping the side effects will be OK if I have any 🤞🏼

DoingItForTheKids25 · 07/06/2025 22:29

Welcome to all the newbies! So glad we're all here to support each other.
So after doing my first injection last night I've had a bit of a dry mouth today but nothing else noticeable. Definitely seems to be helping appetite wise though as I've not really thought about food all day!

👋 5 stone buddies! Good luck with the jab, I think the idea of it is worse than the reality or it was for me

There is a mounjaro June starter if you all wanted to join. There's usually one every month.

Proudmummy67 · 08/06/2025 07:53

Thank you @DoingItForTheKids25
I was brave and did it 😂 it wasn't too bad actually! I've woken up feeling OK so far. I was going to have an electrolytes drink after reading a lot of other people taking them. Is anyone else taking any kind of supplements etc?

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 08/06/2025 08:37

I’m going to do my first one early evening today. Nervous but hopeful.

TheatreTraveller · 08/06/2025 09:43

I did my first one yesterday morning.
I'm currently 18st size 20 and I'd be happy with being 15st which was a very comfortable size 16 for me.
It's been prescribed for my blood sugars primarily though. (Diabetic T2).
I'm very windy/gurgly and burping a lot this morning.

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 08/06/2025 11:14

Morning everyone, hope we are all doing ok today.
My first injection was yesterday morning, and I felt bloated and uncomfortable all day, but today it seems to have settled a bit.
I felt exhausted all day too, but feeling more normal today so hoping that’s a good sign!
I didn’t eat much yesterday, and not feeling particularly hungry so far today.

hope1000 · 08/06/2025 13:32

week 1, day 2
took jab last night and felt sleepy within the hr. Woke up late this morning and feel so cold and nauseated. Just about managed a poached egg and a bite of toast but feel green! Been sleeping on and off on sofa wrapped in blanket most of morning. The thought of food is so nauseating at the moment. Can’t even manage a coffee. Hoping I’ll feel better later.

VashtaNerada · 08/06/2025 14:18

I feel very similar @hope1000 - the first couple of days were the worst, then it got a bit better, then slightly worse again with second jab. I think it’s better this time round though, not as bad as the first few days.

BrilliantineStickInsect · 08/06/2025 14:36

I took my first one just before 12pm today and wasn’t sure if I’m imagining it but feeling a bit sleepy and cold!!! Not sure if that’d be too quick to feel anything like that yet.

I’m taking Centrum multivitamins and fibre gummies! Both recommended by nurse friends 😊

Proudmummy67 · 08/06/2025 15:26

Thanks for that @PleaseAndThankYou12
I'm going to order myself some. I'm thinking the fibre is especially a good idea!

I'm still feeling OK. I've still had some breakfast and a light lunch. I'm also tracking my calories in My Fitness Pal.

IDontHaveTimeForFoolishness · 08/06/2025 15:39

Oh yes please, need a bit of a handhold. Took my jab Friday, ok yesterday, vomited today....off food and a bit windy.

FirkleingFree · 08/06/2025 15:57

First pen has just arrived, will be injecting this evening.

Current weight 88kg, BMI 35
First target - get to BMI of 25 (63kg).

Good luck everyone starting now!

Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon.

i had a little nausea and a little headache yesterday but only feel full today.

DoingItForTheKids25 · 08/06/2025 17:39

I've had a great day today, had a smaller than usual breakfast and then just a sandwich for lunch and having dinner now (I've splashed out on some Cook meals to help me get started) which should be relatively low cals but still yummy. Not really thought about food or had the temptation to snack at all despite it being the weekend which is my worst time for it!
Hope everyone else is doing ok, I'm finding it interesting seeing people's different responses to the jabs. I deliberately did mine on an evening and before my busiest days of the week so I wouldn't have time to symptom spot which really helped i think!

Don’t know if anyone has said this already but there is already a June 25 thread so it would be better for you all to post there tbh.

Thanks for your unsolicited attempt to police the thread but we're all good thanks!

How's everyone doing today?

BeesBeesMillionsOfBees · 09/06/2025 13:06

Hello! I started my day feeling absolutely exhausted (after a decent 7 hours of sleep), but I feel better now.
i know this injection is meant for stabilising blood glucose in patients with diabetes, so I wondered whether it had something to do with my levels dropping, as I felt much better after a protein shake.
i am struggling to eat much though, and shakes feel ok to me at the moment (this would not be my usual approach!). By the evening I seem to feel like having food, and can eat a meal, albeit smaller than I would have previously which is good!

Hope everyone is doing ok today 😊

hope1000 · 09/06/2025 16:29

I’ve slept soooo much too and feel better for it. Just managed half of a chicken breast with gravy and carrots. Feel really full up. Eating a 1/4 of what I did before. Not feeling thirsty though so need to make sure I drink plenty.

Ah see I'm way more thirsty than normal so drinking a lot more than I usually would!
