Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

Please don't post discount codes as your post will be deleted - these need to go on the discount codes thread.

I'm here, new size 14 jeans are going to need to come off soon so I can breathe ! Hope the sun is shining where you all are, it certainly is here

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/05/2025 16:30

Thanks Moo 🥝🥝

I joined these threads at #2 and I'm so thankful for them. I just has a quick look back and in August 24 I was unable to imagine I would ever want to/be able to reach a healthy BMI goal weight.

Now I have 17kgs to go to get to healthy BMI & while I'm in the wild west as far as being lower than I've weighed for decades & I can't imagine what a healthy BMI might look or feel like, I have it it my sights and I can imagine getting there now.

Thank you all for these threads of loveliness and support. 💜💜💜🥝🥝🥝

MooBaggage · 30/05/2025 17:08

NSV!!

I have finally bought new knickers as my size 24s ended up simultaneously falling down and reaching my boobs 😁

I bought a pack from Asda in a size 18, more in hope than expectation and they fit!! Am v v pleased. My first size 18 anything for going on for a decade..! Obvs they're full pants-type things, but are comfortable and fit perfectly 😊

(Won't mention that the size 20 tshirt I also bought today from Asda is waaaay too tight and looks positively pornographic 🙄Have put it away and will try again in a couple of months 😃)

Just reflecting back to when our @VelociraptorsVelociRapping started us off on this series of threads over a year ago now!

A year and 7000 posts later we are still going strong, with many from the original threads still here and so many joining along the path, and the ethos of, and the reason for the thread has stayed the same, supportive and inspiring for those on longer journeys. 💗💗💗

Thanks again to our founder @VelociraptorsVelociRapping for starting us off and keeping us all going, to @MooBaggage for carrying the torch forward, and to every poster for sharing their, often very personal, stories with courage and offering advice 💗💗💗

Although looking back I must apologise for spamming my Zava code on nearly every post on that first thread 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (obviously before MN the rules changed! - please no-one use it as I don't use Zava anymore!)

Thank you for the new thread. I’ve been away this week so was very nervous to weigh today but amazingly have still lost 300g. I was very careful when away and walked loads but did eat out a couple of times so am thrilled not to have gained. I have also just ordered a size 12 thinspiration dress for the summer and I am determined to be able to fit in it by then.

Evenstar · 30/05/2025 17:49

Thanks for the new thread 600 grams off for me this week after plateauing and staying around the same for several weeks. That takes me to 23lb off with Mounjaro since October and bang on 3 stone since June 2023 when I was diagnosed with pre diabetes. I had already reversed that before starting Mounjaro, so I am happy that I have been able to continue losing weight and keep that up.

SilenceInside · 30/05/2025 18:42

Thanks for the new thread, I’d missed that we were getting close to the 1000 posts!

Like @Slowrunning I am also away this week, and have not been able to daily weigh which can make me feel a bit anxious about when I get to weigh when I’m back home tomorrow. I’ve been eating ok I think and I’ve fitted in three Couch to 5k sessions, as well as lots of walking. So we’ll see!

I dropped the ball big time. With it being half term, having a child with complex needs, a teen who's being sonewhat trying, work stuff and my own stuff I completely forgot to even go anywhere near my daily fibre/water/veg target. And ended up finding out what happens when I'm not paying 100% attention. It wasn't much fun and neither was the conversation with the pharmacist. So back to things, added chia seeds and I've found a few cans of Optifibre powder from my adventures last year with Oramorph and friends. Also using that as well because it needs using uo and why not. Don't do what I did (or rather didn't).

On a much more positive note, I'm wearing a pair of size 16 trousers today. OK so they're from Temu AND they're quite a tight fit so who knows what size they actually are IRL. I wouldn't have even got them past my thighs pre MJ.

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 30/05/2025 19:32

Thank you for the shiny new thread @MooBaggage.

Your new jeans sound awesome @AnneinEdinburgh. I’ve picked up my new size 20s today and they fit really comfortably. Just need to roll up the bottoms a bit because I have really short legs - but as that’s the style for boyfriend jeans shouldn’t look too odd (I hope!).

I’ve not been as on it as usual this week with the kids off school. Looking forward to having more headspace again next week.

meatyryvita · 30/05/2025 22:30

Checking in losers! Out in London with DH tonight - could barely eat my dinner due to 7.5mg kicking my backside. Took it easy on the rose to make sure I didn’t end up flat on my back!

MooBaggage · 30/05/2025 22:53

Well it's payday Friday so I've been to the pub with the boyf and friends and have had 3 x large gins 😬 Still weird thinking that that's a lot for me these days and that I won't have alcohol now for at least a week - I've settled into a one night at the weekend drinks night, which feels nice because it's a bit of the 'old' me, but not an absolute necessity, which is also a relief!

Weight-wise, nothing is shifting thanks to the period. I had a message from the GP practice to stop the foof cream straight away and I've got an appt in 2 weeks' time 🙄

Will next weigh myself when the period has given up and I feel less enormous!

OP posts:
Zebracat · 30/05/2025 22:59

Gosh. I love the foof cream, dont think I could give it up easily. Although I only remember it for about 3 days in any month. I hope it isn’t that and you can use it again soon, Moo.

NervyWegovy · 31/05/2025 01:37

I got Prescribed Wegovy and it should be delivered tomorrow. I've already lost 6 and a half stone since late October.

Glad to see a thread here that includes Wegovy as it seems all the others are for Mounjaro.

As per my name I have health anxiety and kinda worried about side effects. Anyone have any advice?

I'm on MJ but I assume things are pretty similar. It's all very individual with SEs. Some get none, some get loads. If you overeat and push through the suppression, you're more likely to suffer There's a bit of trial and error involved in figuring out trigger foods but in general avoid fatty fried stuff.

I would say think ahead with what food you have in before you start the pen, focusing on high protein and a good amount of fibre. Buy some immodium in case that's how things go for you! Also Pepto Bismol for sulphur burps.

Particularly in the early days, be careful of eating too late or too soon before you go to bed.

You'll be fine, though. You've already done brilliantly with your weight loss so far. So you clearly know what you're doing.

Welcome! Side effects are not universally experienced and some people have an easier time of it than others. I had zero issues with 2.5 and 5mg but 7.5 occasionally makes me feel nauseous. That’s really it for me. You won’t necessarily have a tough time - best of luck!
