Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

This is what I have lost so far (30kg). I couldn't even pick the 12kg kettlebell up! DH put it in my lap for me and it def. made me think that I have lost double that and some more

Isn’t this amazing! Imagine how much work you were doing every day to move all that!

First 5mg dose for me tonight. I’ve been on 3.75 for 4 weeks, this week I’ve really felt no effect from it. Wanted to move super slowly as I tried this a year ago and 5mg made me really ill. So I’m thinking positively, drinking lots, eating clean!

QueenOfHiraeth · 06/07/2025 23:00

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity, I've recently changed providers as my last one has been out of stock of higher strengths for a couple of months and noticed my new one offers maintenance consultations, they charge £30 but knock £15 off your next order if you continue with it. I'll take advice from them as to when to do that.

EternalFatalist · 07/07/2025 10:58

Good morning and happy Monday!

Friday was my one-year anniversary of being on Mounjaro. I'm currently on 7.5mg and it is working well. This morning, my weight was 10st 12lbs, so I have officially entered the 10s and am one pound off a five stone loss. This works out to having lost over 31% of my body weight, which boggles my mind.

It took a long time for me to notice any change, but I could finally start seeing it about a month ago. And I can also see the change in photos as well - I never really saw how large I was until I wasn't anymore.

I am also continuing my wardrobe purge - so many items are too big for me now and it is sad to see some lovely pieces go. However, it is also cathartic and I am now embracing colour when I buy new clothes. (My husband especially liked seeing me in yellow last week).

My goal is 9st, which would be a BMI of 23 - hopefully I will be there by the end of the year.

Hopefully everyone else is having a good journey as well.

alwaysscared · 07/07/2025 11:09

And how are we all? Not been on for ages! Hope everyone is well. NSV for me today, just got my HBa1C results back this morning, 27!! 27, I can’t believe it!
Scales are still stuck, which is soooo frustrating but I’m concentrating on getting at least 8000 steps a day, and eating a more varied diet. My health is obviously improving massively, so that’s what I need to focus on at the moment.

MooBaggage · 07/07/2025 11:36

Happy Anniversary @EternalFatalist !! What a difference a year makes 😊 that's a brilliant loss over 12 months - and not far to go now - fantastic stuff!

I'm considering increasing to 7.5mg from today - I've been on 6.25mg and then 6.75mg for about 3 months now, but am not feeling the same levels of suppression and am not losing weight at the moment. Slightly worried about the impact, but figure it's worth giving it a go and I can always reduce if it hits too hard.

Hello @alwaysscared 👋 - I was just thinking about you the other day and hoping you're doing OK 😃 Excellent HbA1C figures - is that pre-diabetic/non-diabetic now? All the changes you've made sound like they're working really well - the weight will come off (in its own sweet time...!) 😬

Morning everybody, I hope you are all well and happy.

Weigh day and jab day for me.
Wk 48, wk 11 on 4.83mg or 58 clicks, yes I am still an MJ lightweight!

SW 20st 3lbs
CW 14st 9.4lbs
WL -2.4lbs! No wonder I was weeing through the night all week!
Ave weekly loss 1.7lbs
BMI is now 30.1!

For some reason seeing my BMI at 30.1 has really made me happy, I wasnt expecting such a drop so it was a fab suprise this morning.

2.5lbs to lose and I will have less than 3 stone to go, which is quite frankly, mindblowing!

I am starting to feel and see the difference in my body, which isnt holding up too badly, a hint of melted candle in parts but I am back using my weights again and once I get the shed sorted out, which might take a while, I will be able to make space for my rowing machine which I really love.

So lots to look forward to!

Have a great week everyone and I will hop on as and when I can to keep up with all the chat and achievements!😊

Crikeyalmighty · 07/07/2025 11:52

@alwaysscared that’s an incredible figure- I didn’t think they could go that low- I got mine down from 44 to 38 consistently and was immensely pleased with myself at that and I eat next to nothing with sugar in it !! GP told me she rarely sees below 34 these days in over 55s

GiveMeWordGames · 07/07/2025 13:13

@alwaysscared those blood results are amazing. Nice to hear from you again.

@MooBaggage as I've mentioned I've been wondering if it's time for me to move up to 7.5 and after my appointment today with my pharmacist I've decided to do that. My wieght loss this week was only 0.75lb and I'm not feeling the suppression/fullness that I was a couple of weeks ago.

Because I'm on a mini-break to Devon Tue-Fri this week, and then it's my wedding aniversary next week, I've been moving my jab day forward and so I finished my last 5mg pen on Saturday. I think I'll split the first 7.5 dose and do 5mg on Friday. Then top up with 2.5 the following Thursday (day after my anniversary meal). Then take my first full 7.5 on the following Monday and be back on my normal jab day. Does that make sense? 😳

End of Week 16 stats:
5ft 8, early 50s

SW 17st 4
CW 14st 12
GW 11-12st

Total loss so far: 34lbs, but loss this week only 0.75 lbs.

alwaysscared · 07/07/2025 13:15

@MooBaggage thanks, that’s a non diabetic range now, but I will always have diabetes unfortunately. I’m surprised it’s so low with all the fruit I eat (I just can’t give the fruit up unfortunately, I’ve tried!!)
@Crikeyalmightythanks! I’m 42 so maybe coz I’m a bit younger??

alwaysscared · 07/07/2025 13:29

@GiveMeWordGames thank you!

Considering that in January 2024 my bloods were 99 (I really wasn’t looking after myself at all) I think I’m doing pretty well really! Just need to praise myself more.
Another NSV, today I am wearing size M trousers from Primark! Again, I can’t believe it!

RobinEllacotStrike · 07/07/2025 13:54

@alwaysscared if you are getting those great results while eating all that fruit, keep enjoying your fruit.

Congratulation of your amazing 27 & good idea to keep health focused.

@QueenOfHiraeth @EternalFatalist wonderful to be smashing those targets!!

Well done everyone - great work

MooBaggage · 07/07/2025 13:57

Wow! That's a huge change! Well done 😍😍😍

I feel really chuffed. I went through my wardrobe a few weeks ago and I put all my old size 16 clothes in the bottom drawer. I tried on some shorts and jeans from the drawer today and they fit. They are hush with I think is fairly generous but they didn’t fit two weeks ago and they do now. My usual jeans are getting baggy so nice to have some new (old) ones to wear. It’s like shopping but free. So exciting. I have a work event later this week and nice to be looking a bit slimmer than last year. I’m 1.5 stone down now. Long way to go still but I feel like I am starting to look slimmer so it really helps with the motivation. I’ve just done my nails as I have a work do this week and want to look nice. Need to figure out what to wear now.

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 07/07/2025 15:51

2025 - the year I am doing more things continued!

I was just big and brave and gave blood! They seemed fine with the medication, but had questions about how I got my medication/prescription. But when I explained it they were fine!

Taking MJ and loosing weight has really changed my life. I definitely have a much more positive outlook and am saying yes to more things.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 07/07/2025 16:07

@CanIGoHomeNowPlease glad it didn’t cause any issues giving blood. I’m a regular donor but haven’t yet been since starting MJ. Glad it was all ok. Well done on going, it’s a brilliant thing to do.

RobinEllacotStrike · 07/07/2025 16:34

I also give blood when I can and MJ wasn't an issue last time.
My iron is often a marginal level though so sometimes I can't donate.

InfoSecInTheCity · 07/07/2025 16:59

I wish I could donate blood but on the 6th failed visit I gave up. I have shy veins, no one can ever find one first time and when they do finally find one the blood just drips out very slowly then stops and we have to start the process again. Unfortunately they have to get it right first time for blood donation so never actually get as far as getting any blood.

when I was admitted to hospital a few years ago for infected gallbladder it took over 20 tries and after exhausting all options in arms and hands they finally got it on the 5th go in the top of my foot.

Luckily I’m not squeamish about needles.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 07/07/2025 17:02

@RobinEllacotStrike me too with the iron. I try to remember to take iron tablets to help. Not booked to donate till the end of the month. I had a few close calls in a row with iron and they suspended me from donating for a while to get my iron up but been fine the last couple of times.

I'm the same, I've tried to give blood a few times and am always rejected or can't do it. I had a blood test last week and the HCA at our surgery, who used to be a phlebotomist, got it from my elbow at the first attempt but all the others try a few times then find my one compliant vein in the back of my left hand.

Right, question to the Longley Farm cottage cheese lovers, what do you do with it? I'm clearly in a good area for it as I have a Morrisons, a Booths and a Poundland who all stock it within striking distance so now have a plain, a chive and a pineapple one to try. Any suggestions please? I'm funny with textures so not sure I can just eat it

Time4changeagain · 07/07/2025 17:22

@QueenOfHiraeth I usually just eat it on its own but I got told to add honey, blend & freeze. Apparently it makes a good alternative to ice cream so I’m going to try it when I’ve stocked up.

InfoSecInTheCity · 07/07/2025 17:22

@QueenOfHiraeth I do just eat it, I am also funny with textures and can’t stand even the tiniest lump in something like mashed potato. I LOVE Longley Farms because it’s nothing like normal cottage cheese, no weird rubbery lumps in sour liquid, oooooohh no, this stuff stands up on the spoon.

Honestly 9 times out of 10 I just eat it with a spoon stood in front of the open fridge, 1/3 pot is about 100 calories so I have a couple of spoons and that tides me over as a snack. I’m the only one wh9 eats it so don’t worry about double dipping.

If I’m being a proper grown up though then I buy Good Guys cheese wafer crackers from Sainsburys, 5cals each and use those as a vehicle or I have little gem lettuce leaves loaded with cottage cheese and a bit of branstons pickle.

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 07/07/2025 17:27

I did Second Nature during lockdown and they had a nice recipe with cottage cheese and courgettes…it’s called savoury slice and I eat it hot or cold with a salad.

I don’t have any of the paperwork left but I do have it on Nutracheck. I’ve attached some screenshots if anyone wants the recipe

I just eat it as is - yum yum - but I did see someone on Insta blend cottage cheese with frozen mango & a bit of honey & swear it was just like ice cream?

My son and I made a similar thing very recently. We used frozen mango, Skyr, and a touch of icing sugar and it was delicious, creamy mango ice cream.
