Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

Please don't post discount codes as your post will be deleted - these need to go on the discount codes thread.

I started on my MJ journey on the 14th March and I can’t believe how far I have come!
SW: 18st 10
TW: 11st
CW: 16st 13

I’m in the 16’s!!!!! 🥳🥳

We have a new local, independent pharmacy who I have spoken to and joined their weight loss clinic. The fantastic thing is they provide MJ so I no longer need to order online, was very weird just being able to go in and after a consultation buy my new pen on the spot. We live very rurally so it’s a big deal 😄.

Off to the big city today (3hrs away) so I’ll be running round B&M like a thing possessed!

GiveMeWordGames · 31/05/2025 10:05

@RainbowConnection1 enjoy your splurge at B&M! It's nice being able to walk out of a pharmacy with your pen isn't it? That's how I do it, at a local independent. I know I'm not getting the online discounts but the stress of getting things accurately delivered to me house means it wouldn't be worth it.

Fantastic loss too, well done on making it to the 16s!

Edited

It was very different just being able to go and get my own instead of having to work round delivery times that could be a bit unreliable.

B&M here I come! 😃

Arglefraster · 31/05/2025 10:18

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage

Zebracat · 31/05/2025 10:43

Well done @RainbowConnection1 . That must feel so great. It’s my jab and weigh day today. I’m 98.2. Last week I weighed myself at 99.1, but the pharmacist weighed me at 100.4. So I’ve lost almost a kilo or over 2 kilos, a surprise because I have been eating more and glugging cherry juice. But I’ll take it. My bowels seem to be working again, which is good.
@moobaggage, I’ve been taking the collagen for a week, in porridge or yoghurt. I can’t taste it but it gives an unpleasant ( to me) density to food. I’m going to carry on. No difference noted in hair , nails or skin, but I’ve not had much joint pain, and I normally do

mince3point14159265 · 31/05/2025 12:29

Thanks for the new thread @MooBaggage 🥰

I've also started taking collagen this week @Zebracat , really hoping it helps my hair as that took a real hit with menopause! I've been taking it in my (black) coffee and it's not too bad. ☕️

Hotflushesandchilblains · 31/05/2025 13:32

@MooBaggage - when I lost a lot of weight on WW years ago, I totally forgot about underwear sizing - was replacing my clothes, but did not think about knickers until I noticed that they looked pleated! Nice NSV!

I am feeling very down at the moment, end of one job, starting another, in something with a hobby which is not going well, so hoping it will clear up soon. I know some people experience low mood with WLI, so need to see how it goes and hoping it is just situations.

WeAllHaveWings · 31/05/2025 13:34

End of week - 48 (5 x 2.5mg, 43 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8

Total loss - 7st 07lbs (105lbs), 35.1%
Next Target 🎯- 13st

A nice 3lb loss this week and Hello 13's! 👋😃

NervyWegovy · 31/05/2025 14:29

Thanks everyone, I've taken my first one. Headache basically straight away but think that's anxiety as headache straight away and tummy kinda funny.

And had a bit of a weird reaction to first COVID jab

MooBaggage · 31/05/2025 14:56

Well done Nervy! I hope you feel OK soon - fingers crossed you won't have any negative side effects 💪

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 31/05/2025 15:21

Well done @NervyWegovy - I felt a bit odd after my first Mounjaro jab which was partly anxiety about doing it. I made sure to drink plenty of water and just take it a bit easier for a few hours. It is a big step to take, but give it a couple of weeks and doing the weekly jab is quick and totally routine.

Arglefraster · 31/05/2025 15:32

Well done nervy I think you should change your name to BraveWegovy 💪

Arglefraster · 31/05/2025 15:35

Sorry you're feeling down @Hotflushesandchilblainsit sounds like a time of big upheaval/change for you just now & that's always unsettling. I hope you find an even keel soon 💐

wordywitch · 31/05/2025 15:43

I started with a total of 30kg to lose though I’ve already lost some of that, hope it’s okay to join! I’ve been on Mounjaro for nearly 9 weeks now.

SW: 95kg / 15st
CW: 80kg / 12st 8lbs
GW: 65kg / 10st 3lbs

A NSV for me this week was trying on a jumpsuit that was uncomfortably tight last summer and it fits really nicely now. 😊

AlicesMum2025 · 31/05/2025 15:49

Jumping into this thread so that I can get support from you lovely people. I have more than 5 stone to lose but focusing on 2.5 stone for now. Started on 2nd May add have lost 1st 1lb so far (that 1lb is very important 🤣). Hoping for 7lb off this month 🤞

Definitely important! I slipped into the 16 stones last week - am 16st 13lbs so that 1lb loss was huge!

I weighed myself yesterday and the scales flickered on to 17 stone, but I hard stared at it and it settled back to 16st 13lbs - phew!

Hope you dont mind me asking this in this thread - know I will get helpful responses and not any rubbish.

Husband has just told me that he is considering MJ,.. so I confessed I had been taking it since last summer. (I didnt tell him as I didnt think he would approve of them and told him that - he seemed to accept it)

Anyhow - I want to help him make an informed choice about it, including the cost. He is not likely to spend hours reading this forum (and others) and build a picture of it the way I did. So anyone point me in the direction of a MJ101 page or anything where he can get more info. (also can someone give me the link to the page that lists the current prices for all the suppliers)

I also have been very remis about checking in here recently - slowly and steadly going down round holidays and life, sitting at 5st 3lb off now after 46 weeks.

SilenceInside · 31/05/2025 17:22

@CatTraveler one of the price comparison pages is https://monj.co.uk .

You could direct him to one of the online pharmacy’s info pages about Mounjaro- Asda Online Doctor have quite a good FAQ about WLI, and there are probably many others.

@CatTraveler I found this website useful: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/about-diabetes/looking-after-diabetes/treatments/tablets-and-medication/glp-1/mounjaro

I know it's a diabetes website, but the information on it is relevant and explains it well, I think. I sent the link to my Mum when I told her and she wanted more info!

What is Mounjaro? Uses, How it Works and Side Effects

Mounjaro is a type of medication you might need to take if you have type 2 dia

Checking back in after a long absence. I have had a few health glitches as a bout of COVID triggered a flare of what has since been diagnosed as microscopic colitis. Fortunately my gastroenterologist is happy for me to continue either with MJ as there is no connection with the MC. He even put this in writing so the pharmacy can still prescribe. I realised looking back that I have had mild symptoms on and off for years but never joined the dots.
I decided to work on maintenance whilst my health issues were being sorted so kept the dose the same. It worked, despite 14 weeks on steroids I only put on a couple of kg which are now coming off again.

So on 2nd Jan I was 86.6kg (down from 110kg) and now I am 89.4kg.

I am delighted that I managed to hold my weight so steady for nearly 6 months. I hope that my set point has moved a bit and that 90kg has become my starting point now.

Back to onwards and downwards.

Gingercar · 31/05/2025 20:32

Hello, is it ok to join your thread too? I’m only in my second week and have a lot to lose. I lost 6lbs last week, which was a good start.

Zebracat · 31/05/2025 21:06

Welcome @Gingercar . 6 pounds is a really good start..

eleanorwish · 01/06/2025 10:56

A NSV victory for me. I decided to buy some size 20 trousers ( M&S), as I currently only own 3 pairs from the last time I was that size, but they had nothing in my size / length. I decided to grab the only 2 pairs of size 18/short in the shop, so that I would have something to wear later in the summer. Tried them on when I got home and they almost fit! I can actually fasten them, they’re just a bit snug around the belly. Another half stone and they should be ok. So 6 pairs of size 22 trousers went to the textile recycling this morning!
