Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

My first pen is finally due to arrive today, whoop whoop! Just wondering what time of the day you all decided to take yours?

I did my first one around 7.30pm.

I was very anxious around 11pm though about side effects and I think I worked myself up so I think next jab i'll do on Monday but in the morning so I'm not worrying I won't wake up 😂

Had monjaro in the fridge for over a week, anxiety of side effects taking over. Appreciate any tips.

I was exactly the same - I wasn’t worried about tummy upsets etc I worked myself up into worrying about anaphylaxis and all sorts! You’ll think I’m bonkers but this is what I did. Injected in the morning about an hour after breakfast. Took an antihistamine (the normal one I take for hay fever). Told dh what I was doing . Stayed within spitting distance of my local pharmacy ….. and I was completely fine. The rare side effects are really very very rare. I’ve now done my 2nd and was again completely fine. When I go up in dose strength I’ll go through the same palaver - I just have that kind of catastrophising brain! Big hug - let us know how it goes?

riverislanjeans · 12/06/2025 13:12

W1D3 - First time I've actually felt hungry was at lunchtime today, I hadn't eaten since last night around 6pm though and just started my period so that makes sense! Although usually I could eat a horse the few days/week leading up to it!

mstifi · 12/06/2025 13:14

I'm about to take my first, not today as DGD is here. I'm very worried about nausea or worse the vomiting. Has anyone tried taking it at night? Did it help?

I was just thinking a tip for people is to weigh yourself weekly rather than daily, as there will be day-to-day fluctuations that won’t give you a true picture of what you’re losing. Whenever I’ve done past stuff like Weight Watchers, tracking/calorie deficits on MFP etc I’ve strictly only weighed myself weekly on the same day and at the same time and I plan to do the same with this. Unless there’s new advice to do it daily with Mounjaro that I’ve missed!!

Edited

@BrilliantineStickInsect I think it totally depends on what's right for the person. I spent years at slimming clubs doing the weekly weighs, not sneaking a peek. But like you say, we do fluctuate day-to-day. There's nothing to say on that day, you haven't jumped up, and then end up disappointed too.

The main thing is developing a health relationship with the scales and not letting it define your day. I worked with my PT for months to fix my issues with the scales. Now I confidently weigh every day, knowing that even if it jumps a little, it's not because I've eaten 3,000 more calories to gain fat, it's because I haven't slept well, or I had a big meal, or exercised more and am retaining water etc. and then I see it coming down again.

Whatever works for each of us, stick with it. It didn't go on it a day, it won't come off it one either xx

BrilliantineStickInsect · 12/06/2025 13:52

@Sam187 Absolutely - I went and googled it after I said that and I see that there’s also lots of advice around weighing every day so you can track things better and don’t get any surprises if you were to do it weekly! Something to think about.

Is anyone else not feeling hungry, or maybe not recognising hunger?

I’m still eating as I understand I need food to live and seem to actually enjoy what I’m eating, but also I’m not getting the full feeling people describe, so could overeat if I wanted!

I could eat endlessly, it seems. I don’t get the full feeling., But I’ve eaten loads of fruit and veg and am losing weight well.

I take mine around 8/8.30pm. I took my first jab about 3.30 and went back to work, I felt fine but a bit jittery and wired so I struggled to concentrate. I took my second in the evening and pretty much slept off the weird jittery feels and by morning I was fine. 3rd jab tonight and I’ll be doing the same.

I personally haven’t had nausea or vomiting so fingers crossed you don’t either!

So I have deffo found today that it's been easier to avoid eating for the sake of it.

I had granola and 0% fat greek yoghurt for breakfast (the granola is high in sugar so should k avoid that)

Had a berry medley mid morning

Lunch was ryvita thin with fat free cottage cheese

Avoided McDonald's in town with my teenagers

Then dinner was a chicken thigh in a nandos bake in the bag garlic and lemon with a salad.

Around 1,000 cals. 3 l of water.

How does this sound?

Radiatorvalves · 12/06/2025 17:17

Hi all, I have 3rd jab tomorrow. It’s been great. No side effects bar a bit of constipation… off to buy prunes!!

I don’t have a huge amount to lose… 4-6 kg max. And so far down about 3kg which I’m really happy about. Question is whether I should stick on 2.5? Appetite suppression is ok so far, so I think it makes sense. Any thoughts?

Well done to everyone!

Seriestwo · 12/06/2025 17:22

Prunes will be my daily fodder,@radiator!

do you mind me asking how you got a prescription if you have 6kg to lose? Or have you previously lost weight?

im asking because im already wondering how I can stay on this stuff once I am no longer —fucking enormous— overweight.

MarlboroughMillie · 12/06/2025 17:28

I’ve just had an email saying I’ve been approved - delivery next week so watching with great interest. I want to lose 1.5 stone, which I realise isn’t a huge amount but since menopause am finding that I just can’t shift it any more. I have high blood pressure and had a scary TIA earlier this year, so I’m hopeful this will get me back to a healthy weight.

I’m just under 30 bmi but have high cholesterol and osteo arthritis. Needed to lose about 10kg in total. I wondered whether second dose would be approved but it has been. Decided to stick with 2.5. And prunes. More prunes. X

Starting a new job next week and have leaving drinks today. Bit anxious as I dont really want to drink on the jabs but because its MY do I dont really have a get out clause. Im normally the person chugging the pints too so its going to look very suspicious if im suddenly not drinking. My plan of action is only having a drink if its someone else's round and when its mine getting non-alcoholic and pretending its booze 😅

Couldn’t you say you’re on anti biotics ?

Seriestwo · 13/06/2025 11:09

I have the same tonight, big drinks night and I’m the lush. I am intending on saying I feel unwell, and going home early. I usually stay out til the end because I have no will power at all

I've already laid the groundwork of "I have to get up early and drive my son to X" and that I dont do hangovers so Im planning a swift exit at 8pm

My husband and I booked Santa’s sleepover for early December at Alton towers. The second day is entry to the indoor water park and for the first time in a long time, I’m confident that I won’t be mortified at the prospect of wearing a swimming costume.

😄

Love this! So positive!

I feel the same, looking forward, I've got Summer holiday next month but already thinking next year's holiday, I might well be a lot lighter!
