Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

yes not a fan but didn't fancy dinner tonight

moremoremores · 11/06/2025 21:32

No bruising here @Shwingbada

BonjournoMonjourno · 11/06/2025 21:36

Shwingbada · 11/06/2025 21:32

Has anyone else bruised quite badly at the site of the injection? I've just noticed quite a large black bruise on my stomach from the second jab which I did this morning.

No but I’ve been doing them into my thighs because I was told it reduces nausea/ gastric symptoms

Do you have one of the metal things that go inside the shaker?

LongGinShortTonic · 11/06/2025 22:03

Oops. I think I’ve replaced my evening snacking and wine habit with shopping on Vinted…

W2 D3 finally feeling better from the side effects today after two days of wading through treacle with a headache.

Any tips for getting less lumpy protein shakes?

Having been through this with teen DS with ASD, he found the only acceptable texture of protein shake was one made with a blender. Shaking or whisking was too thick or lumpy or uneven.

ArwenStewQueen · 11/06/2025 22:12

You might want to give clear whey protein shakes a try - they’re not thick at all, and end up more of a squash-like consistency rather than a shake.

I use MyProtein clear whey and they have loads of flavours - recommend the ice tea and vimto!

Lola528 · 11/06/2025 22:24

Hey June Jabbers!

just did my 2nd jab, first week has been fine and symptom free, long may that continue! Will be weighing in tomorrow as I consider day after jab as day one of the week, scared and excited to see what the scales say in the morning.

Been eating well and had ZERO chocolate or biscuits etc (who even am I?) this past week. Have had suppression but have been eating, not counting calories etc yet but consciously trying to get protein in. Another vote for the My Protein Vimto flavoured powder which also has collagen in it so hoping can replace my “ancient & brave” collagen powder with this one which has that and protein. I can get a whiff of collagen as I drink it, but I down it quick and it’s like gulping down a juice.

Will moist back tomorrow either way 🤞🏻post weigh in.

wish me luck JJs! Xx

Xmasfairy86 · 11/06/2025 22:26

Definitely recommend the clear whey. After years of buying protein powders that I only ever have 2 or 3 shakes out of because I really don’t like it the clear stuff is a revelation!

feeling rotten right now. Due on and ate too many sweets- still under 1500 cals I think for the day but my head is banging. Massive sugar headache that I need to sleep off

Sisterlove · 11/06/2025 22:40

ArwenStewQueen · 11/06/2025 15:11

Good luck! Sounds like we’re on about the same journey with regards to weight loss - I have such high hopes!!

How are you feeling about it all?

Same here with starting weight and goal weight.

I started yesterday and the hunger is at bay, so I'm definitely eating less. I just how it continues this way.

I also went to the gym today, so feeling good.

All the best.

Diamonddebs · 11/06/2025 23:03

W1D3 going well so far, suppression still working, but I do have 3 meals a day and include protein each time. Also I don’t want to mess up my metabolism by eating too few calories. So hopefully achieving around 1500. I don’t want to track as that makes me food obsessed. Not much 💩 at the moment either 🤷🏼‍♀️. Don’t have cravings for chocolate, crisps nor wine gums which are my downfall. So that is making me really happy. I’m hoping the suppression continues as it will be Fathers Day on day 7. And there will be a few treats around for sure.

ThisNeedsToWork · 11/06/2025 23:10

I thought that, about it being psychosomatic. But then I thought I don’t really care. All I care is that it’s working.

Today is W1D4 and I thought about food for the first time. Not hungry or tempted to eat rubbish though. I found myself choosing Ryvita and Philadelphia to eat as a snack. There’s crisps, biscuits and chocolate in the house but I’m just not interested! 😲😲😲🤷‍♀️ This is some witchcraft but I love it!

ThisNeedsToWork · 11/06/2025 23:20

ArwenStewQueen · 11/06/2025 20:32

I’m on W2D5 and wow has the suppression kicked in! Set reminders to eat smaller meals regularly which is helping with nausea.

Have also decided that daily weight checks are the way forwards, as I can track fluctuations (am due on any day!)

How is everyone finding protein/fibre balances?? I’m definitely feeling a bit…. Erm, slower in that respect 🤪💩🛑

I’m having All Bran with my Greek yoghurt for breakfast. I’m also trying to eat lots of fruit and drink 2l of water each day. I’m only W1D4 but so far, so good!

Tinybirdie · 12/06/2025 04:59

Woke up early hours feeling hungry. Eventually decided just to get out of bed at 430 and have a yoghurt. It was also weigh in day and I have lost another 1.5 pounds taking my total loss to 9.5 pounds. I feel a little disappointed but know I'm being ridiculous.

SW - 13 stone 8
CW - 12 stone 12.5
GW - 10 stone

-2.2 lbs

feeling a bit disappointed as was hoping for more after week 1, but let’s see what happens next week!

anyone else have a low week 1 loss?

I’m 53 and maybe it’s just going to take longer this time but that’s not a bad thing other than for my impatience :)

Sideorderofchips · 12/06/2025 05:55

Morning all

Well this is an odd sensation. To wake up and not actually feel like I'm starving hungry!

Having my morning coffee with the cats and the dog before getting kids up

I've made myself granola and yoghurt to have for breakfast at work and then made myself a fruit salad.

Be interested to see how long before I'm hungry

Scatternobrains · 12/06/2025 06:29

My first pen is finally due to arrive today, whoop whoop! Just wondering what time of the day you all decided to take yours?

BadgerFace · 12/06/2025 06:41

Weigh in day for me and I’m a bit disappointed as I’ve lost nothing for the past 4 days even though I know that’s silly as I lost 3 pounds at the beginning of the week. Need to reframe as a half stone win in two weeks and not weigh between Thursdays in future!!

SW 12 stone 2
CW 11 stone 9
GW 10 stone 7?? (Not sure at this point!)

@Scatternobrains I did my first jab around 7pm as I was worried about side effects and wanted to sleep through the first impact. I felt mostly fine so switched to 8am last week and will do the same today for my third jab.

The new stone bracket is definitely something to be celebrated!

Yes! You're right! I definitely feel less bulky and clothes less strained at the seams! Haha

SusanSHelit · 12/06/2025 07:05

W2D6 here and also feeling a bit disappointed this morning. I got all the way down to 95kg mid last week. I have no idea what happened but it all came back over the last few days of week one I finished on 96.8kg.

Today I'm still only down to 95.45kg. Which is a bit ridiculous because my D1 weight was 101kg so I've lost 5.5kg in two weeks which is 12lbs. I just feel like 90% of it came off in the first 3/4 days and I've spent the last week and a bit in a rut.

Next jab is tomorrow morning and the weight is definitely coming off. It's probably better that it doesn't come off too fast as I have an awful lot to loose (need to get from 101kg/ 15st9 to around 60kg /9st)

Onwards and downwards!

We have the exact same starting weight! My goal weight is 10.5 stone though.
I hear you - at 11pm last night I was proper hungry so stomped downstairs and got a Babybel. Suppression not as impressive as I’d hoped!!

MsRinky · 12/06/2025 07:43

J3 done, 1kg down which is exactly what I’d hoped for. Had a great week, eaten well, 12k steps a day, few gym sessions, no side effects, did my alldayer last weekend sober and junk food free which felt great. This weekend we have a 500 mile round trip to visit in-laws and my parents. I haven’t decided whether to tell my Mum about it or not yet.

cigarsmokingwoman · 12/06/2025 08:02

w2d5 and I feel normal. sleeping like a log and side effects have subsised minus the eggy burps on jab days. DH is thinking of staying on 2.5mg but I might increase to 5mg next month. can anyone advise on the difference in effects?

ThisNeedsToWork · 12/06/2025 08:34

Great loses everyone! W1D5 for me. My interest in food has perked up but I have zero interest in junk and just want to eat healthily. Bizarre but amazing!
