I have the worst mental block with the spelling of this medication!! Almost did it wrong again but THINK it's correct now. Obviously 3rd time's the charm!!

Great work / losses / NSVs so far everyone!

I rather liked the spelling of it on the last thread.

"Monjourno" is almost French.

🤣🤣

QS90 · 17/05/2025 11:55

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Lol yes - Derrick Trotter would no doubt appreciate it too 😂

Found you!! Thread 4. So happy to be part of the April crew!!

StrikeForever · 17/05/2025 12:11

Hi thread four. I am W6 D2 and have lost 4kg, so just under 9lbs. I’m happy with that 🙂 I was eating pretty clean anyway. I’m a vegetarian and I don’t drink alcohol, so no real change in my diet. The drug has just helped me cut out snacking.

Incognitoburrito88 · 17/05/2025 12:18

I’m here 👋

Wk 7 day 2 today. Still on 2.5mg. I’m on my way to Manchester to meet a friend. We’re going out for lunch when I arrive and I’m nervous. My suppression is pretty high today. Will go for something light and hope for the best!

well done on all your fantastic losses everyone!

Pepperwaggytail · 17/05/2025 12:24

This is W2D4 of 5mg and for the first time I have a bit of nausea and burps today. Bloody typical! The tiredness has also returned.
I’m out for a meal tonight with friends - they will definitely notice if I’m not drinking and eating very much. They will especially notice the drinking😬

Doidontimmm · 17/05/2025 12:25

Checking in to the new thread!

Week 8 day 1, list 15lbs, did 2 weeks on 3.75 but last few days had no effect so thought stuff it yesterday & upped to 5. Fingers crossed no SE yet.

SausageRoll90 · 17/05/2025 12:55

I'm here too 👋🏻

@Pepperwaggytail with your meal out and drinks, if they notice or comment, could you just say you've been feeling a bit under the weather recently so just taking it easy?
I know it's not the same but i found out I was pregnant on the morning on my best friends wedding where other good friends and my sister were going to be there, and usually it's all about the prosecco but obviously I couldn't drink and they would have noticed so I "just had one" which I swapped with my husband and then said I had a migraine the night before so was feeling a bit off still so taking it easy and no-one questioned it (I do get migraines so that's why I knew they wouldn't question it) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Galadali · 17/05/2025 12:56

W7 D6 weigh in and I've lost a measly half a pound over the past 3 weeks. I'm upping my calories this week to see if that helps kickstart my metabolism. Feeling a bit down really as I'm normally pretty good at losing weight (although not as good as putting it all back on again).
The MJ is definitely working. I'm on 5mg and the suppression is very high still so forcing more calories down will be a challenge. I lost 3 stone in 4 months 2 years ago just low-carbing 1600kcal per day. I'm currently low-carbing again, but also a lot fewer calories due to the suppression. I need to find a happy medium so may drop to 3.75mg next week.

DrMonjo · 17/05/2025 13:23

I found a lovely photo of me 7 years ago before I piled on the menopause tyre. Really quite motivating.
I was a little upset at losing 1lb or even half but have stared long and hard at the block of butter and celebrated it's loss.

Sorry if these are obvious questions that you've already considered, BUT are you eating enough protein to conserve your metabolism? And are you excersizing lots? I found that days after I'd worked out, I'd "gained" weight. After a bit of research, I read that the soreness you get after excersize, causes temporary water retention. You may well already know about this! But I didn't, to me it was a revelation.

I agree, the photos online of a lb of fat, are amazing.

Just checking in with thread 4. someone at work noticed I'd lost weight which is nice but I'm still not telling anyone other than DP I'm on it. I'll have tell the opticians when I see them but I don't know why it feels so secretive. It's not really about judgement of using WLI rather than willpower, rather that I've got to a point that I need to. 😕Still, it is working. I was doing fine on 2.5 so if my focus issues continue I might just drop back to that.

TashieWoo · 17/05/2025 13:57

Please can I join? Just ordered my first dose so will be starting on 2.5mg soon hopefully. My BMI is 31 and I’m hoping to lose 15-20kg.

My main question is about keeping the cost down ie maintaining weight loss on a lower dose. Is it possible to continue losing weight on 2.5 or 5mg? I eat fairly healthily, I’m quite active and I don’t drink much, it’s the snacking and sweet tooth that doesn’t help me. I don’t mind if I lose weight slowly, but it just needs to be consistent.

saxonyv · 17/05/2025 14:34

Thanks for the new thread @QS90

Wonderfulstuff · 17/05/2025 14:39

Thanks @QS90 for the new thread! Personally I enjoy the alternative spellings 🙂 makes me feel not so bad at my own bad spelling and terrible maths - I seem to find it impossible to work out what I’ve lost each week (despite having created a decent tracking spreadsheet!). Shame the mounj doesn’t help with that too! 😆

Due to my terrible memory, along with generally being shattered each evening, I forgot to jab so did a run of 9 days instead of 7. I didn’t experience any return of the dreaded food noise but a bit less suppression. Still felt easy to make good choices so I’m tempted to keep a longer space between injections. Either way I think that’s good news for maintenance. Seems a long way off right now though!

SusanSometimes · 17/05/2025 14:53

Hello, Im checking in to the new thread Smile

Week 7 day 2 for me, jab done yesterday and another kilo off this week, so a total of 8kg. I'm happy with my rate of loss and the ongoing suppression so I'm going to stay on 2.5mg next month.

TMI, but I had to resort to forcing down a handful of dried prunes last night as I was constipated, and thankfully it worked.

DH just remarked that I've lost a tenth of his bodyweight, skinny thing that he is.

Uninvitedleaf · 17/05/2025 15:03

Hi everyone 👋

I’m due to jab tomorrow (will be W6 for me) and I’ve got a 5mg pen ready, but I think I’m just going to do half dose and stick with 2.5mg this week. Probably do need to go up but I’m away this week with friends and would rather not change dose until I’ve a few days at home. Hoping to manage on continued lower dose and a bit of willpower. If I don’t lose much this week I can live with that as a one off!

Thank you for replying. I always struggle to hit protein goals but average around 50-60g a day so that's not too bad, I don't think? Sometimes it's 100, sometimes it's 20 😂. My diet is really balanced and clean generally, especially now I'm not craving carbs. Exercise - just walking, gardening and yoga at the moment. Although the weight is VERY sticky this time around, I am loving my new BP readings and blood glucose levels, and planning to be on MJ long-term so I can wait...

Edited

Well I’m 56 so they are not going to think
pregnancy. 😂 But yes that’s a very good idea, I have IBS and they know I have to be very careful what I eat anyway. I’m also going away with them for a girlie weekend in a couple of weeks and that will be more of a challenge!
I’ll do the old wine and soda trick tonight and hopefully when they’ve all had a few they’ll stop counting mine! Blimey I’ve got boring! 🤪

QS90 · 17/05/2025 16:25

@Galadali I read 60g as a miniumum, so that sounds good! As you say, the other readings are more important ❤

I plan to be on the MJ at least medium term too, maybe long term. So yes, I suppose it will all come off eventually! I am impatient though, it's a foible. Your approach is much better, I will aim for this thinking.

👋 thanks for the new thread @QS90

Cerberus1808 · 17/05/2025 16:48

Hi to the new thread 🙂

Weigh in days are Tuesday but I did a sneaky Friday morning one and had put on over a pound 😭 Hoping what QS90 said about water retention after exercise is what's happened as I did a fair bit on Thursday from home... that's my hope anyway 🤞

If not onwards and upwards/downwards and all that... got a 5mg pen in the fridge, debating doing the 0.9ml golden dose to step up from the 2.5 as my effects are incredibly hit and miss this week

Zireael · 17/05/2025 16:49

Checking in. I jab on a Thursday and took my golden dose this week, approximately 3.75, up from 2.5. Noticeable heart burn the following evening, but otherwise all ok.

SausageRoll90 · 17/05/2025 16:59

Ooofff guys I've got horrible tummy aches today. Literally in my stomach after I eat anything.

I did my 2nd 5mg jab last night and the suppression is high today so having to make myself eat something in order to keep energy up or I feel awful. But every time I eat my stomach is so sore. I don't remember this happening before but it's not comfortable.

In other news my sister has decided to give MJ a go too as she's seen how much it's helped me stick to eating well. She took her 1st jab last night too - we did it together over video call as she needed some moral support for that 1st jab 👍🏻 going to be nice to be able to support eachother 💕
