I feel exactly the same way. I think personally I’ve got to keep on a very low dose of Mounjaro and stay in my usual routine until I do relax into it. This will mean weighing every day for me, and possibly going back on it for a week or so after a holiday or Christmas if I’ve gained a few lb. So i may need to keep a pen in the fridge.
Every time I’ve gained weight throughout my life it’s been when I’ve stopped daily weighing and taken my eye off the ball.
I used to mistakenly believe (taught from a very young age by my mother) that there were loads of people who could just eat what they liked and never put on weight. Clearly looking at the current obesity epidemic that’s not the case! All the slim celebrities, who I thought looked like that effortlessly are actually working bloody hard to stay like that! This was a bit of an eye opener for me.
So for me, the mindset has to be to “work” at staying slim through healthy eating, not eating too much (sadly) and plenty of exercise. Like skin care, clothes etc it’s all a bit of work, but to look and feel better about myself, for me at least, it’s worth it. I think when you hit your 50s your lifestyle really shows! 😬
A lot of my friends and family are also interested in health and fitness, including my husband and we have a good social
life with fit and active friends. We also have morbidly obese friends and family. However, I think it is a lot easier when the people around you feel and behave like you. It must be really hard if you are trying to change your own habits and your friends and family are big eaters and drinkers, don’t exercise etc. You’ll definitely find it harder not to join them and will need more will power when not taking Mounjaro.
Gosh, didn’t plan on writing an essay this morning! 😂 That’s my musings for today! 🤪
