Feel for you @2old4thisshit 😣

Loving that @WhynotJanet ! I'd be the same on a Friday, in fact my other half would often have set a beer down on my desk next to me around this time. It's strange - I thought I'd have to replace booze with something else, but there isn't a hole to fill at the moment.

It might just take time to find a new hobby. I’m trying to get in to bed earlier, wasn’t sleeping well
before anyway. Plus I have more energy so at the moment just cracking through lots of life admin. Not exactly exiting but much needed.

SussexLass87 · 16/05/2025 17:32

On the sugar free thing...I really, really need to just stick at it. My skin looks AMAZING when I don't eat it.

Met some of DH's colleagues at a Forces Ball last year when I was sugar free for 7 weeks and they all thought I was 5 years younger than him 🤣 We're the same age.

@Weightlossprincess was coming on to agree with what @WhynotJanet said about salty food - then saw you’d answered my query - thank you . Had no idea such things existed!
Hmmm, guess I’d need to show it to airport security - off to Google.

RoaryMouth · 16/05/2025 17:46

Hello. I’ve just taken my first dose and feeling optimistic. Thought I’d join in here for the motivation and chat. Always carried a bit of weight but it’s been slowly creeping on the last couple of years. I’ve been exercising regularly for over a year and while it’s great for strength and mental health, there’s no change to weight/size so need to get diet in hand. So here goes…😀

Weightlossprincess · 16/05/2025 17:46

WhynotJanet · 16/05/2025 17:28

@Weightlossprincess It could be water retention, especially if your food was salty.

Ah, i hope so!!! Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

PandyMoanyMum · 16/05/2025 17:59

Wk1 D5 I’ve been doing really well at improving my diet/portions and the jab has made that so much more do-able as I’m not miserable from hunger. I’ve not really had gastric side effects. All sounds awesome, right.

But those scales don’t seem to be budging at all 😪and after hearing the success stories I was hoping I’d be a super responder! It is so much easier to resist snacks and not to hoover up the kids leftovers. I guess it will work in the long term 🤔I hope so anyway.

Threestonetolose · 16/05/2025 17:59

Hi everyone, I'd like to join please as I was approved by SheMed today for MJ and my first pen is due to be being shipped within the next 24 hours. I'm excited but nervous, especially about the potential side effects but keeping my fingers crossed they'll only be mild if I do get any.

I've piled on the weight since Covid and am the heaviest I have ever been. I really need to lose at least 3 stone to feel comfortable in myself again. My main issue is that I'm a big drinker and I'm really hoping this will switch that off for me, as well as the mindless snacking throughout the day (I WFH). We are going away for my birthday in 4 weeks time so I would love to see a difference by them. After reading the losses other posters have had I am pretty hopeful but we shall see!

ChimpyChops · 16/05/2025 18:05

W3, D3, 2.5mg.

Feel like I have zero suppression this week, I don't feel the need to snack but I'm definitely hungrier and ready for my meals. Interested to see how the 5mg will feel.

planesick · 16/05/2025 18:08

Day two for me. I feel "off" but can't put my finger on why. I also have not thought about food other than to think "oh, I am not thinking about food!"
Nothing in my fridge gives me inspiration. What do people eat? I had poached egg on toast this morning. It's 6pm and can't muster up the enthusiasm to cook anything.
I am not complaining though

Thanks for the new thread , @SussexLass87 - the last one filled up so quickly . Wish I’d started the jabs months ago instead of hesitating - willpower alone just isn’t enough anymore.
We’re going to be away for over a month later in the summer, so assume I’ll need to come off the plan and then restart on the same dose afterwards ( 2.5 ).
Has anyone else done this , or are there any alternatives?
Staying with family overseas , none of whom know I’m doing this ( mind you, neither does DH….) .

I'm going away for three weeks at the end of July on holiday and intend to keep going and will buy the necessary to keep the pen cold and/or time the new pen accordingly.

I fully intend to start as I mean to go on and that means not blowing everything apart just because I'm on holiday. Yoghurt for breakfast. Small deli food type lunch and a suitable dinner out in a restaurant. We're staying in a villa so it will be easy to shop accordingly and then make wise choices in the evening.

motherpear · 16/05/2025 18:45

W1D4 here. So far so good. Some heartburn but nothing unbearable. Started drinking peppermint tea and I really think this helps aid my digestion. My coach has said this counts as water which I’m glad about as not so keen on drinking lots of plain water. Love all the information and support here x

ElsieJay · 16/05/2025 18:55

@Weightlossprincess - brilliant, thank you!
@Kipperandarthur - think I’ve made a rod for my own back by trying to keep it a secret, - even with the insulated pack I’ll be needing to stash it in different fridges as we move between family members.
Equally I absolutely don’t want to go off the rails or risk the MJ becoming less effective if I take the stop-start approach .
Aaaargghh ! WHY didn’t I get on board with this months ago ….🙄.

LessWeightKate · 16/05/2025 19:20

@ElsieJay I think that once you start a pen, you don't need to keep it chilled. You just mustn't let it get very hot. You should be okay to travel with it unrefrigerated.

SaintAgatha · 16/05/2025 19:22

Thanks for the new thread @SussexLass87! I’m due my third jab tomorrow evening. My clothes are already starting to feel differently on me, virtually no food noise, hardly any side effects. It’s had the added bonus of somehow reducing my desire to shop, which has always been an emotional response for me, and somehow moderating my emotions? I’m far more chill since being on the jab. Really fascinated by the process.

ElsieJay · 16/05/2025 19:37

@LessWeightKate thank you - think I’ll contact Asda Online Doctor for guidance, as it’s going to be high temperatures and quite a lot of moving around .

Phat2fin · 16/05/2025 19:54

Took my third jab this evening. Total loss so far is 4.5kg
Weirdly I was glad it was jab day today as I’ve been so hungry the past two days - it’s took all my willpower to keep on track!

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 16/05/2025 20:59

Hello new thread! Currently having a chicken breast with cucumber, avocado and pistachio nut salad. Week 2 day 5, loss 9lb so far. Bit nervous as have had some vino this week!

MyScaredCat · 16/05/2025 21:10

Thanks for the new thread.
im a total chocolate fiend and realised i havent eaten any for 3 weeks. The thought turns me

lissie123 · 16/05/2025 21:14

W2D2 Well I’ve eaten small but reasonably well balanced meals today as not hugely hungry. It’s so weird cos normally on a Friday night I would hit the wine and open up the snack cupboard but no- haven’t felt bothered at all. Had a sip of Dh’s beer but wasn’t really bothered. It’s so odd.

26dX · 16/05/2025 21:25

just a reminder to take progress photos too! The scale doesn’t always show but you’d be surprised to see the difference xx

SlipperyLizard · 16/05/2025 21:34

I’m on W2 D5, no side effects of note although one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m not needing a wee in the middle of the night whereas before it was every night. I’m definitely drinking more to stave off constipation so it can’t be dehydration. Anyway I’m enjoying it!

How do we decide whether to move to 5? I’m getting what seems like a good level of appetite suppression on 2.5, but can I expect that to continue or should I move up?

TimeForTeaAndMe · 16/05/2025 22:01

Catty123Ma · 16/05/2025 16:26

Has anyone been having problems getting their clinical assessment confirmed? I really wanted to start today but still pending. It’s with Med Express

Honestly I'd cancel and go to a less well known company. As long as it's a licensed chemist.

MedExpress is taking weeks, they have admitted they are overwhelmed with orders. I used IQ doctor. And had the medication within 3 days.

Was slightly worried about delays on the next lot so ordered again today ready for week 5 (still on week 3) and that order has already gone through and I'll have it within 5 days max 😁

Good luck,🤞

AlicesMum2025 · 16/05/2025 23:00

@Catty123Ma I used IQ Doctor too. Got approved within 24 hours for my first pen on a Friday and received it on Monday.

I ordered my 2nd pen just before my 3rd dose because it fit better with my paydays rather than waiting until after 4th dose. I was approved for that within 8 minutes! Received it following day.
