Thanks for starting a new thread @SussexLass87 . Well what a change this week has been . I’m on W2D5 and the suppression has been immense in comparison to last week. I jabbed on Monday and haven’t felt like eating much at all since then. I am tracking calories to make sure I have enough even when I don’t feel like it. Also trying to eat much more protein and failing this week. So I’ll be having more shakes. Lost 5lbs last week so let’s see what weigh in day brings next week!

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 16/05/2025 15:58

Thanks Lass.
First day for me. It seems to have started working instantly, which I didn't really expect. The only side effect is I feel a bit 'jittery.' I could be imagining that though.

Needsomeadvice2234 · 16/05/2025 16:01

Signing in...I'm feeling pretty shit today and thinking of pausing at some point. Can you skipa day so take your jab a day late? Does it matter? Zero interest in eating so not worried about that..

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 16/05/2025 16:05

Thank you for the new thread!

And thanks for the support on the last one. I'm breaking the cycle of 'drinking / being hungover / being disappointed with myself and having some drinks because what's the point'. Being outside of that cycle is great but kind of brutal - I have to be present and make good choices and look after myself and I have to do that whilst being a size 18, in a body I don't recognise.

I must say though, I feel more like the old me, the one from 2020. That's pretty nice.

So I'm on W1D5 and I'm moving my jab forward to Saturday, because it really affected my sleep last Sunday night so if I'm going to be knackered, I'd rather be knackered on Sunday.

Treated myself to a Stanley cup to help with all the water sipping -

in my favourite colour! It arrived this afternoon and I'm now sipping iced water like a pro. Before I injected I hated drinking water! My other half would suggest I have a glass of water just to get me to eyeroll. I love it now. MJ thing or new-mindset thing?

Welcome lovelies! It's amazing how everyone is reacting so differently to it.

Had some SE this past few days...bit constipated and had a TEENY amount of chocolate yesterday which I'm paying for today with heartburn and headaches. Lesson learnt!

I'd given up sugar a couple of weeks before starting MJ and then slipped...picking myself up and starting again today.

@Needsomeadvice2234 Sorry you're feeling rubbish! No idea about skipping a day but hope you're okay?

It's incredible that so many people (on the last thread and the older ones) have said how much it's put them off booze.

I overdid it (ahem) at a friend's wedding a few years back and haven't touched it since so I'm a strictly diet coke / lemonade gal on night's out.

Means no hangover but also no excuse to be a bit silly 😄😄

Thanks :) I'm just feeling very nauseous and a bit weak today. Shocking amount of weight came off in WK1 so body probably just adjusting!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 16/05/2025 16:13

@SussexLass87 The anecdotal stories of people going off booze when on MJ are what encouraged me to start. I've been trying to cut down my drinking for two years but I haven't had the willpower, I definitely had drink noise. I'm doing pretty well on WK1, I'm hoping it continues.

notgonnafail · 16/05/2025 16:22

Posted this on the last thread, not realising mine was rhe last post so thought it might be a good idea to post here, too!

Hi hope it's ok to join you all. I ordered my first pen this week, and will be starting next week. Like most, I'm a bit excited, a lot nervous and pretty worried about side effects as I have a number of health issues that make life hard enough - but figure that though losing weight won't get rid of those conditions, it will helo me manage them better, so some potential discomfort is worth it.

Started dieting at 12, which set me up for a lifetime of falling on and off diets, putting any weight lost back on and then some, even when sticking to the plan and exercising regularly until I ended up over 260lbs, at just 164cm tall. Now 50 and on the back end of peri-menopause, I have found losing weight got harder and harder and sticking to them tougher and tougher.

I am AuDHD, so am either in absolute hyperfocus and completely regimented, or am in utter chaos, so am hoping that Mounjaro will help me to even out my moods as well as minimise my desire to eat carbs - especially chocolate - as my health conditions are definitely easier to manage when I am very low carb!

Will be doing my first weigh in and jab on Thursday next week, as I have a few things this week and early next weekend that I need to be ok for, so can't risk any side-effects, but I am looking forward to getting started.I've read a lot of the mounjaro threads on here, and have picked up lots of tips, especially from the older threads as people learned how to manage their weightloss journeys, and hope I will be as successful as so many of the folk in those threads have been

dc82 · 16/05/2025 16:25

@CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor Day 1 for me too and I’m feeling a little fuzzy but I think that’s because I’ve not eaten much at all. I need to make myself I think.

I struggle with protein a bit normally as I’m vegan. Anyone else vegan with some top protein tips? I picked up some alpro protein plant shakes to try.

Catty123Ma · 16/05/2025 16:26

Has anyone been having problems getting their clinical assessment confirmed? I really wanted to start today but still pending. It’s with Med Express

WhynotJanet · 16/05/2025 16:27

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I remember you from the first thread. Well done on managing the booze intake this week. I’m also feeling so positive about not thinking about drinking every day, let one actually doing it. I used to have something to drink almost every day, so this drug has made a massive difference to me in only 2 weeks. Not had any booze this week and usually by this time on a Friday, I’d be planning a drink session. I’m so not bothered about!

MoggiMay · 16/05/2025 16:29

Joining! Thank you

GeraniumRoseblush · 16/05/2025 16:55

Thanks for the new thread @SussexLass87

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 16/05/2025 16:57

Loving that @WhynotJanet ! I'd be the same on a Friday, in fact my other half would often have set a beer down on my desk next to me around this time. It's strange - I thought I'd have to replace booze with something else, but there isn't a hole to fill at the moment.

tostaky · 16/05/2025 17:01

Day 1 for me - still less than 24hrs since 1st jab
Gosh i am thirsty!!! I said do DP that tonight instead of our usual bottle of red, id quite fancy a bottle of Evian or two! Grin
its almost 5pm and i can feel my stomach has still not started digesting my lunch (udon noodles chili oil with one egg for protein). Not sure i will be able to eat tonight!

I cant wait for DP to start as well. He signed up with Juniper but hasnt been approved yet and it has been 5 days since he sent his pictures. Anyone else in that case?

Mounraine · 16/05/2025 17:03

@SussexLass87 I'm also on the sugar-free boat. I managed to quit for about five weeks, but this last week I've been on holiday and on my period and cracked. After jabbing last night I've managed it completely all day, no problem.

Sorry, I can't see who asked now, but moving your jab day by one day is fine by everything I have read.

2old4thisshit · 16/05/2025 17:09

So today I managed to get to work, I haven’t counted exactly, but I must be near on 3 packets of Imodium down so far. I have lost over 3kg, but I know that’s mainly fluid. I have upped my water intake, completely off coffee, so having mint teas, tried a cheese sandwich for lunch, chucked it and had a packet of Pom bears.
Got home and have eaten a salad. Feel comfortable.
I spoke to my pharmacist and she has suggested, either to halve the dose to 1.25 or leave it a week and let me
recover and then the following week 1.25.
I’m going to see how I go over the weekend, but I really can’t be taking time out of school and have half term coming up, where I could be at home.

ElsieJay · 16/05/2025 17:12

Thanks for the new thread , @SussexLass87 - the last one filled up so quickly . Wish I’d started the jabs months ago instead of hesitating - willpower alone just isn’t enough anymore.
We’re going to be away for over a month later in the summer, so assume I’ll need to come off the plan and then restart on the same dose afterwards ( 2.5 ).
Has anyone else done this , or are there any alternatives?
Staying with family overseas , none of whom know I’m doing this ( mind you, neither does DH….) .

Mounraine · 16/05/2025 17:12

@2old4thisshit I'm sorry you've had such a rubbish time. If only there were some guidelines for how to avoid the worse side effects.

ElsieJay · 16/05/2025 17:13

Sorry you’re having such a rotten time, @2old4thisshit .

Loloj · 16/05/2025 17:15

Well I took my jab at 10am this morning and I’m trying to figure out if I feel less hungry or not!

I just can’t really tell if my hunger is suppressed or if I’m eating less because psychologically I’ve just spent £150 for the month! Anyone the same?

Weightlossprincess · 16/05/2025 17:19

So yesterday was my week 1 day 7. I weighed in the morning and was thrilledto have lost ovwr 8 pounds in my first week.

However I had zero suppression yesterday.

Went out for a friend's birthday curry last night and ate the same amount I'd have eaten before starting ( a curry, half a naan and half a rice), which is hugely more than I've eaten all week, but not excessive.

Took 2nd jab yesterday evening.

When i weighed this morning, I've put 2.5 pounds on since yesterday !!!! How is thia possible? That would have required me to have eaten about 9000 calories yesterday!
I feel like crying.
Can't even blame constipation, as i had a poo last night😥

What don't you get a new pen before ypu go to take with you. You can get insulated pen pouches

WhynotJanet · 16/05/2025 17:28

@Weightlossprincess It could be water retention, especially if your food was salty.
