This is reassuring in some ways! It’s round my whole neck and feels like bruising. I’m hoping that it will ease.

For those using tasteless protein powders - any recommendations? Ive never used any but need to now, but they are so expensive! so i dont want you make a mistake. Im hoping to find something i can either mix into food, or just mix into water and knock back in one go (so job done in one go).

WhynotJanet · 18/05/2025 13:55

Agree with you @SilkCottonTree losing slowly is better for you. It allows you to cement the changes to your lifestyle, you are also more likely to avoid serious side effects like gallstones, issues with loose skin and you hopefully avoid Mounjaro face.

AlicesMum2025 · 18/05/2025 13:56

@user1471522343 Vanilla is quite a versatile flavour. Add it to yoghurt, make up a thicker shake and have it on Weetabix instead of milk, use it as a base for smoothies.

You could also look at clear protein powders. They're like soft drinks rather than milkshakes. I've seen raspberry lemonade, peach tea, grapefruit, watermelon etc

I've used Optimum Nutrition (ON) for milkshakes and MyProtein for clear.

I looked at PhD Nutrition Diet Whey but it actually had more calories, less protein and less fibre than the regular ON so I'd recommend reading the labels and not be seduced by the 'diet' label.

If you check Amazon you can see that ON has a huge number of reviews and is by far the most popular when it comes to milkshakes. I bought mine from there because it was cheaper and it came fully sealed and untouched.

Personally, I wouldn't want to spend money on unflavoured and just knock it back for the sake of it. I'd rather something I enjoy, especially at that price, and there are a lot of options to choose from. But just my personal preference.

Hope this helps

planesick · 18/05/2025 13:57

@Notreallybarbie1 I also have had stiff neck (and shoulders). I am Wk1D4 today. It is starting to pass now. I also didn't have a 💩 for 4 days! I should have weighed myself just after 😄I am waiting until Thursday.
I really can't muster any enthusiasm to eat, but I am enjoying not feeling hungry.

Good luck to everyone just starting out, I hope it all goes well.

Afternoon and happy Sunday!

W2D1

I am currently well chuffed a non-scale victory: all the puffiness has gone out of my face! I've got my face back! Who knew that dropping from 30 beers to 1 would make me look much less bloated and puffy? Well, everyone knew that, probably. But oh my god. I've been feeling so doughy.

I have had just over 2 bottles of wine this week and 1 beer. That's actually still terrible from a units per week perspective, but it's such a massive improvement in one week.

Just done a full face of makeup to go to the supermarket and used volumising hair products so I feel fantastic right now!

Weigh in tomorrow. Must try to hold onto the NSVs as much as the numbers.

@stripesdotsdashes snap! 👋 Started same day as you, and 4lbs in 2 weeks. I was beginning to think I was an outlier! Glad to have a buddy in the slow losers club 😀

Me too 🙋🏼‍♀️ 5lbs in two weeks. I’ve struggled a bit with constipation though so that might be part of reason. Plus I had lost a bit of weight before I started so I didn’t really have any water to lose perhaps? I guess as long as it’s in a downward trend then I’m happy.( but secretly jealous of the fast losers!! 😆 )

ComtesseClegane · 18/05/2025 15:57

Hello! I've been lurking but too shy to post until now! I'm on W2 D2 and currently lying on my sofa feeling rubbish because just drinking water with collagen powder mixed in makes me feel uncomfortably full and sick.

My start weight was way more than I expected so I have about four stone to lose, which feels daunting but I lost about the same amount on slimming world when I wasn't perimenopausal so I know it's possible!

I haven't had much in the way of side effects other than feeling sick and tired on the day after I've done my jab. My partner, who has been on Wegovy for about a year, has had a much worse time but he's lost four stone so far so considers it worth it! In response to another poster (sorry, I'm on my phone and can't scroll back a page) - he also completely stopped snoring literally the day that he started his injections, which is great as I haven't had to sleep on the sofa for a year now! Weird, isn't it?!

I don't actually know how much I've lost, if anything, so far as I'm too scared to look. I had a mini breakdown in Boots last Monday when I did my first weigh in and it was mortifying! I'm going to do it tomorrow though and will report back! I'm drinking a lot of water but not eating especially well so far as I just don't feel like ANYTHING so I'm living on Huel, protein yoghurts and microwave rice right now so who knows how it'll be.

I hereby promise to eat much better next week.

Lovecycling · 18/05/2025 16:03

I’m W3D3 and struggling today. I had good suppression in the first week but it has really decreased in W2 and again in W3. I ate 2000 kcal yesterday, with crisps, biscuits, and chocolate in there (1000kcal worth).
Trying to avoid that today but food noise is back ☹️ I’ve lost 6.5 lbs W1, 1.6lbs W2 and 0.2 lbs so far W3. I had hoped to stay on 2.5mg for a while but looks like I’ll need to move up the doses quicker than expected.

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 18/05/2025 16:10

Am I the only person who isn't getting much appetite suppression? I'm W1D2 and could manage a 2nd lunch right now, followed by an ice cream. ☹️

Edit: 1st lunch was high protein.

Mounraine · 18/05/2025 16:23

@CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor yeah, I haven’t much suppression now (W3D3). It’s just turned off that craving for chocolate and biscuits and comfort eating.

@PandyMoanyMum - yes, apparently my waking myself up with snoring has hugely improved 🫢

I wonder if those of us who respond well to the 2.5mg dose are those who already have insulin resistance, and others that need a higher dose for an effect don't have quite such broken metabolisms?

Catty123Ma · 18/05/2025 16:37

Hey Everyone, I’m having a really hard time getting approved. I’m borderline 30 bmi (5’8/14st)and don’t seem to be passing the picture stage 😓 is there anywhere that is not asking for photos!! I just have gone ahead weeks ago!

Is it Med Express? It took 3 attempts with different photos for them to approve me. I am going to order from elsewhere next time because I hear there are long delays with them.

Catty123Ma · 18/05/2025 16:44

Yeah, they declined after 5 days.. so I just asked for a refund and I’m trying Voy.. it’s super frustrating… I should have tried again … ladies here always have the answers 🙌🏻😊

WhynotJanet · 18/05/2025 16:45

Ok, hope it goes more smoothly with Voy.

lissie123 · 18/05/2025 16:53

@Catty123Ma i use medicine market place and they just need a phone video of your face and you getting on the scales —and the reading on the scales. Very simple and straightforward.

MyScaredCat · 18/05/2025 16:56

I’ve just ordered my 2nd pen. Stuck with Medexpress and have asked to stay on 2.5. I have very little appetite, no side effects, and losing weight well so I figure no point moving up doses.
I will be taking my 4th dose on Wednesday, have syringes ready for 5th dose the following week. Actually don’t need the 2nd pen until first week in June, but worried about delays

GeraniumRoseblush · 18/05/2025 17:10

@Peachblossom25 hello fellow slow loser 👋 happy to have another joiner in the club 😀 1lb at a time is all it takes 👍

Have you tried raspberries for the constipation? Worked a treat for me!

I wouldn't mind so much if it had worked for a couple of weeks first. It's literally day 2. ☹️

Yes maybe @SilkCottonTree . In spite of my atrocious diet, my blood sugar levels weren't too bad.

GeraniumRoseblush · 18/05/2025 17:18

Anyone else feeling a lack of energy?

I'm really finding it hard to get out for a walk every day - which I've always been pretty good about. I'm doing it but there's a LOT of brain chatter I'm having to contend with!

Wondering if my body needs more cals? Last thing I want is my metabolism to slow down. I do weights 3x a week and that's been fine to stick to though 🤷‍♀️ Anyone got any sage advice?

tostaky · 18/05/2025 17:32

W1D3 - still feeling great. I do have an appetite, but definitely smaller than usual (ie “normal” Grin) and i dont fancy any treats or if i do i can just tell myself no super easily… proper game changer….

WhynotJanet · 18/05/2025 17:37

Went out for a pre planned meal with DH and friends yesterday, had booze, which I’m not going to beat myself up over. Stuck to gin and slimline tonic. My meal was grilled meat, rice and salad so not the end of the world but definitely over my daily calorie intake. I am however dreading weigh in day tomorrow.
