Leveluplou · 29/04/2025 14:21

Couldn't see a thread for may but hoping I can find fellow starters to chat with. I've opted to go with SheMed and have just received my blood test kit through so should be starting within the next week or 2!

Hi can anyone tell me the cheapest place to start Mounjaro off please? I’ve been thinking for a while about starting, stepped on the scales this morning and cried 😭. I have to do something, I’m ever so down! Thank you!

You can compare prices at https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/ and make your decision as the pharmacies differ in terms of collection/delivery dates, supporting maintenance etc.

Morning! I took first injection yesterday morning and had no side effects. I was still hungry but couldn’t be bothered to make anything. Ended the day below my calorie target and without having a glass of wine which is unheard of! Then I woke in the night with a horrible pain under my ribs. I genuinely thought it was a heart attack until i farted and immediately felt better. I might have over done it on the fibre yesterday! This morning appetite is completely gone. Had to force down a banana for breakfast. Good luck to everyone!

Lonestar1988 · 03/05/2025 12:10

Took my first dose a couple of hours ago! Excited for this journey

LessWeightKate · 03/05/2025 12:29

It's wrong that I laughed at that, @SlippySausage (but I did anyway 🤣)

The wine thing is such a bonus. I would usually love a glass in the sunshine (and all the snacks that wine makes seem such a good idea!) That switch has well and truly flipped to the off position and I am not mad about it!

Sia9 · 03/05/2025 12:31

Just taken my first dose ! Didn’t feel it at all. I am was surprised at the force I needed to administer. Stabbed my self in the finger when getting the needle in the sharps box Blush

MoggiMay · 03/05/2025 12:57

Ok, I’m in! Am doing this with Voy which has the coaching element too, so hopefully hold me more accountable too.

starting weight 18st 10 (10 of those lbs I’ve put on in April alone following a total binge over Easter). Been a very emotional time of it having lost my mum last year. I’m 40 this year and had planned on loosing so much before now. I just need a kick up the arse.

awaiting delivery of first injections and very happy to find a group for May joiners!

I forgive you! 💨💨💨

I’d read about MJ reducing alcohol cravings but I’m surprised by how much I don’t want to drink. The thought of a glass of wine makes me feel a bit sick. I hope that lasts!!

Hi, I also have a hiatus hernia and I have oesophageal disease. After my last endoscopy the consultant recommended weight loss, like I didn’t know that already. I already don’t eat much because of this condition which made weight gain even more difficult to deal with as I’d done nothing different and my weight kept rising.

my BMI is 30 and I was told that I would need to have something like diabetes to get weight loss injections on prescription, hence me going ahead and buying them privately.

Have you been offered orlistat? I have tried this but didn’t find it useful.

Oh my goodness I think I'm the same as you!! I don't eat a lot and like you, my weight is rising steadily.

After my first injection, yesterday evening, I don’t feel anything? Should I be? I’m really not sure what to expect.

Does it usually take a while to kick in?

Same here. Took first injection last night and not feeling anything... hoping that's a good thing 🤞

Herewegoagain80 · 03/05/2025 13:48

I’m another one who took the first injection yesterday and feel no different. I’ve been constantly hungry, even after meals.

Hysterectomynext · 03/05/2025 14:45

Hello I started first injection May 1st.
Too soon to see improvement although I wanted to see it straight away.

i go to the gym a few times a week But on my own I’ve lost around 2-3kg in two months.

I’m hoping this injection will do it for me.

I’m 5’2” 77kg
my scales tell me my body composition has me at 70 years old. I’m actually a good decade younger.
my health is poor.

im hoping for a significant loss in a week. And I want to combine injection with intermittent fasting 16: 8

DottyMcDiet · 03/05/2025 15:47

My first pen has just arrived!

I didn’t think it would be so quick - I’m not ready yet!

I can just leave it in the fridge until next week, can’t I?

BETTYBOBBO · 03/05/2025 16:25

Ordered Mounjaro through SheMed last weekend. Had video consultation and took Randox Health blood test last Thursday (1st). Got blood test results today by email. My cholesterol is high, I already have HBP. SheMed will review the blood test before sending me the pens. Hopefully I will still be eligible. I need to be healthier. I am 58 and my smart scales tell me my metabolic age is 65 :(

CW=182lbs
BMI = 33
Goal 1 = 160lbs
Goal 2 = 140lbs

Me too. However, I haven’t really eaten anything so far today. My husband said it’s a placebo effect. I’m hoping it’s the injection doing its job. 😊

Dontopenthetrapdoor · 03/05/2025 17:47

I took my first injection last night and definitely feel it is working today. I’ve been much less interested in food, have a cracking migraine and feel nauseous. I’m making myself a small chicken salad for tea but really don’t feel like eating. That will amount to 3 small meals today and no snacks.

Lovecycling · 03/05/2025 17:49

Second day for me and I have suppression but also feeling a bit odd. Brain fog and tired although that’s probably due to not eating very much. I still feel hunger and I’m still thinking about food but I have no temptation to go for chocolate or crisps or anything unhealthy. I really enjoyed my breakfast and tasted it - usually I’m too busy trying to stuff my face I didn’t taste things! Managed 1400 kcal yesterday despite trying to eat 1600 which is probably lower than I need to eat long term.

Mounraine · 03/05/2025 17:53

D2 for me and I'm about to eat for the first time. I just don't feel fussed about food and it's only now I'm actually feeling hungry. Last time this lasted for days 2 and 3, so I don't mind going that long on OMAD, expecting to eat more in later days.

Peachblossom25 · 03/05/2025 17:54

Did my first injection last night. Woke up with a headache but otherwise felt fine. I had breakfast and ate it all but since then I haven’t really wanted anything. I made myself a salad for lunch but had one mouthful but just couldn’t eat it. Will see how I go with eating dinner. I can feel that my stomach is sort of empty but I don’t feel hungry. It’s a strange feeling!

Same feeling here. Started yesterday, and overall feeling fine, but not eating much. My stomach feels full, but I know there isn't much in it. Such a strange concept 😅 long may it last

IndieRocknRoll · 03/05/2025 17:58

Can I join you all?
I’ve been trying to pluck up the courage to give the injections a go for around 6 months after worrying about the side effects. I’ve seen some friends get some great results so it’s convinced me. Took my first jab at 10am. Not noticed anything yet. Have stocked the fridge full of healthy food!
Height 4ft 11
weight 10.5 st
BMI 30
Target weight 9st

Mounraine · 03/05/2025 18:28

My stomach feels full, but I know there isn't much in it.

I think there might be though? I think MJ slows digestion down, so food sits in our stomachs much longer than we're used to.

stripesdotsdashes · 03/05/2025 18:34

Hi, I'm joining too. I took my first jab yesterday (Friday) lunchtime and felt ok rest of the day. Had a bad night's sleep with my stomach feeling strange, and woke with no appetite. Felt like this all day. BMI 30, so only just allowed jabs. 5ft 6. No idea of target weight to go for. I have been slightly overweight to tipping into obese all my life apart from my divorce 6 years ago when i was a size 10/12. Id like the weight loss without the trauma please! I exercise loads, eat healthy meals but snack too much on top. Looking forward to sharing the journey with others after watching many friends success.

Mounraine · 03/05/2025 18:37

Hi @stripesdotsdashes , we must have similar starting points. I'm also 5ft 6 and started at just over 30 BMI (mid-forties). Lost 9lb in my first fortnight, but then had to take a break due to side effects and complications. Just took my first 2.5 on Thursday after my break.

AlrightTrouble · 03/05/2025 20:17

@DottyMcDietI feel exactly the same. It’s sat in the fridge and I’m just waiting…not sure what’s stopping me pulling the trigger!

GherkinsOnToast · 03/05/2025 20:50

Hi, can I join? I've just taken my first shot. Was advised to take a paracetamol with it and drink loads of water.

I have about 3 stone to lose.
