Couldn't see a thread for may but hoping I can find fellow starters to chat with. I've opted to go with SheMed and have just received my blood test kit through so should be starting within the next week or 2!

Morning everyone ☺️ day 5 for me . I had awful burps day 1/2 but they seem to have gone now . I’m amazed at having no “food noise” , I’ve just entirely stopped focussing on food and all that it entails. I don’t know if the suppression is as strong today as it was days 2/3 ? Does mj build up, as in will there still be some in my body when I take the next dose? I’ve downloaded the Shotsy app but not paid for the premium service - that apprently shows you the levels of the drug predicted in your body so I may do that . I’m about to start work , hope everyone has a lovely weekend in the sun

Apparently it does build up in the system. I have the Shotsy app - if you click on the calendar and then the date it will show you the predicted levels for that day. You don’t need the premium to do this.

Ah thanks so much! I’m very much looking forward to second jab, just want to be weeks down the line and actually liking my body again!

Surviving45 · 11/05/2025 09:08

Hi I did my 1st jab on Wednesday evening. I had an awful headache on Thursday but no desire to eat like I used to. What is an average weight loss for the 1st week. Kind of scared/excited to weight myself on Wednesday 😂

LittleNoosh · 11/05/2025 09:19

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 11/05/2025 07:33

Morning all. I woke up on day 2 here with a mild headache and starving hungry, not feeling any suppression yet and the food noise is at peak levels, feels like starting yet another diet and obsessing over what to eat/drink. Know I need to be patient and it could be weeks before I get to an effective dose but after so many failed diets in the past the defeatism is kicking in.

Managed to eat really well yesterday though when the rest of the family had takeaway and hit my protein and hydration targets so need to try and take the wins…

You’re not the only one. I’m on day 3 today and I’ve had reflux and mild nausea but I haven’t seen the hoped for effects of the injection yet.

I don’t know whether it builds up in you and might be better after another jab? I’m grasping at straws though!

What I’m trying to do is to hold onto any wins I do have and remind myself that I’m getting closer to it taking effect. I’m just hoping I’m not one of those that it takes months to get to that spot.

i really understand how you’re feeling though, especially when you feel like you’re the only one.

Well done for the good choices you’ve managed to make anyway.

PandyMoanyMum · 11/05/2025 09:46

Just done my first injection - and as PP said, a complete non- event!

Feeling really inspired by hearing about everyone’s weight-loss experience and hoping I’ll be fortunate as well.

I’m really hoping that in the long run I’ll have less joint pain, more energy and not hate every photo of me and dread all social events!

I’m not sure there is an average - quite a few of us have lost around 7lb but we probably have more to lose. If you start at a higher weight you’ll likely lose more than someone starting at a lower weight. First week is often a lot of fluid too so I’m not expecting to lose as much week 2.

Phat2fin · 11/05/2025 10:10

I think I’m definitely doing better than I was last week in terms of side effects. I’ve had no sulphur burps or diarrhoea so far with second jab. 🤞🏼

Bundleflower · 11/05/2025 10:22

So pleased to have found this board.
Just taken my first dose after tentatively reading the first few pages. As above, a complete and utter non-event.
I’m around 94.9kg-ish - I’ve got some stupid ‘smart’ scales that dive up, down and around but that’s the number that appeared most so I’m going to go with that.
I’m back at work with a very young baby (own business so needs must) and a house full of older kids, dogs etc so having time to focus on losing weight just isn’t there. Self esteem at an all time low and just exhausted which I don’t think the extra weight is helping. Hoping this helps me find myself again.
30 minutes in and impatient - feel it’s unlikely I’ve lost weight yet.

GeraniumRoseblush · 11/05/2025 10:45

Oh gosh, sulphur burps are back 😱 - and there was me being so smug that they'd gone towards the end of last week 🤣

@Peachblossom25 I have the free version of Shotsy and can't see where it shows the medication levels on the calendar. I’ve clicked on the date and it just offers me weight/calories/ protein/side effects and notes - can you explain it to me like I'm being a numpty? (which I probably am!)

tostaky · 11/05/2025 11:10

Can’t wait for my blood test results to be done so i can order my 1st pen!
DP might go on it he says if he sees no sode effe ts on me first Grin

That’s strange. It’s in the top right hand corner above the protein. It’s says “est. level”
Have you entered your last shot into it?

It's on the summary page.

Week one for me and weigh in day tomorrow. As many have already mentioned, my suppression has decreased as the days have gone on. I was fine Monday-Thursday but the food noise started a little on Thursday. Weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost 4lbs, which is fantastic.
I’m due to take my second injection tomorrow but thinking of postponing it until later on in the week, maybe Thursday. Are most people injecting just before the weekend when you are more likely to overindulge?

Needsomeadvice2234 · 11/05/2025 11:41

Can I ask what you do to take your second shot? Do you need to turn the pen again?

ChimpyChops · 11/05/2025 11:41

Hello all! I started on the 30th April but figured this was the best one to join.

I am on week 2, day 4 with 2.5mg. 4lbs lost so far.

SW: 15 st.
GW: 10st 1lb.

Husband also doing it alongside me. First week experienced heartburn and awful constipation but that seems to have stopped. Food noise is non-existent, not snacking at all. Counting calories and drinking lots more water. I am already feeling so much better.

Will catch up with this thread over the next couple of days as have a few days off work.
Take care 😊

Exactly the same procedure as the first jab.

GeraniumRoseblush · 11/05/2025 11:46

@Peachblossom25 yup entered my 2 shots and nope, no "est. level" option showing above the protein.

@SweetChilliGirl I can see it on the summary page but it's blurred out as I've got the free version.

I'm being cheap obviously not wanting to pay for the subscription 😀

GeraniumRoseblush · 11/05/2025 11:51

@WhynotJanet I started on a Friday mainly because I figured I had the weekend to handle any side effects, rather than for any overindulgence reasons.

Mounjaronew · 11/05/2025 11:56

I take my second 2.5 injection today. I’ve lost 8lbs in total this week. I don’t think it’ll be as much as that every week but it would be good if it is. I’ll be totally removing wine from my diet this week as last week was so stressful. This week will be calmer so easier to go alcohol free hopefully!

That's really odd. I have the free version too and it looks like this:

@SweetChilliGirl ah I see what you mean. I was focused on the estimated medication section but there's an Est level in the shot history section. Got it, thanks 👍

Morning all, did my first jab yesterday mid morning. Ate a salad for lunch and no word iof a lie was full for most of the day. Fancied a bowl of cereal in the evening , having missed tea earlier, and couldn't even eat it all. Not feeling hungry yet today...anyone else got a reeeeeeeeeally dry mouth?! Slight headache yesterday afternoon but that's all 😄

Yes, I had a very dry mouth at first but it went away after a few days and it hasn't returned. It will help you get your water intake up 🤣

Bundleflower · 11/05/2025 13:17

I’m due to go on holiday in 6.5 weeks and would love to be ‘just’ overweight then. I’ve worked out that I need to lose 3 pounds a week to do this. Hoping very much it’s achievable - any experiences? First dose today.

DrWu · 11/05/2025 15:18

Oh my gosh, I had my first dose Thursday evening, I’ve had no appetite at all, forced myself to have a peanut butter and jam sandwich after work yesterday as I was experiencing pain in my stomach, so put it down to lack of food.

We’ve just cooked a bbq and I’ve eaten one small bite of dds Chinese pork, one sausage, a couple of spoons of vegetable couscous and one new potato with mint jelly, I am so stuffed I can hardly move, and I am soooo bloated! Usually I’ll eat one of everything (sausage, burger, pork, chicken) as well as bread rolls, and all of the sides on offer. This is so unlike me, but I am so happy that my body has stopped me from massively overeating!
Hope everyone else is having a wonderful weekend
