Couldn't see a thread for may but hoping I can find fellow starters to chat with. I've opted to go with SheMed and have just received my blood test kit through so should be starting within the next week or 2!

Wow some great results so far! I've just done my first injection, it was so simple to do and didn't hurt at all. Hoping I don't have too many side effects as I've got a busy weekend!

Is anyone doing it via SheMed? It told me to wipe the red bit of the pen with a swab, but I wasn't provided with any swabs so I just went for it without wiping ..

@LittleNoosh i would treat the symptoms as quickly as possible. Eg pepto bismol or rennies for acid reflux. And avoid any suspect ingredients that may have caused it today.

I will I’ll go ask a pharmacist first thing tomorrow what I can take with Mounjaro

LittleNoosh · 08/05/2025 20:20

Took first dose just after lunch today. Had bad reflux after a small dinner.

i know there’s no guarantee about how each person reacts but can anyone reassure me that their reflux got better over time?

I just need a bit of hope to hold onto.

Yes, I suffered the first time I tried MJ. Had to sleep propped up, and still woke up feeling the burn unless I slept with a bit of a Rennie tablet under my tongue. It passed very quickly for me, and I haven't had it at all this time around, so I'm hoping it's the same for you! Reflux is pure misery.

That’s a good idea to sleep propped up until I can get to a pharmacy. And thank you for the encouragement, I don’t want it all to be finished before I’ve even started.

I'm 5ft2 and half technically too haha
I'm still waiting for my pen to be dispatched, says it's delayed 😡

Ah that’s annoying!! Where did you order from? X

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 22:26

it is a strange thing but after only a few days I think it gives me more control over my life.

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 08/05/2025 22:43

I’m on week 1 day 5 today. Next injection on Sunday morning. I’ve lost 5lb and I feel amazing, loads of energy. Better than I usually do, might have something to do with the lack of wine - most unlike me to not drink! Appetite suppression has been incredible. I’ve had two small meals a day and really craving fresh veggies and salad and lean meat. Have had some seedy toast with avocado one lunchtime so haven’t cut out carbs entirely but certainly not needing them to fill me up.

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 22:51

I am your twin! Also last Sunday and feel the same.

My daughter is in labour quite far from me. I am so nervous.

finding it hard to concentrate until i hear they are both ok.

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 22:55

Sorry i know it is off topic.
I also will reinject on Sunday. And have felt massive appetite suppression and absolute sugar revulsion. Wholemeal bread with avocado yesterday. Today just cracker with low fat cheese and tomato.
But just now waiting for news on first wee grand child.

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 22:55

Terribly nervous.

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 22:57

@SussexLass87 thanks. It’s such a stressful time.

Mounjaronew · 08/05/2025 23:14

Tomorrow. Hopefully.

Can I join, please?
I’ve taken my first dose this evening! Eeeek!
I’m so worried about side effects, but so far only awful pain at jab site, so that’s better so far than I expected.

my stats are:
F37
5ft 1
SW as of this evening before jab 11st 9lb,
TW 8st 7lb

I'm so excited to be doing this, but so nervous too.

ElsieJay · 09/05/2025 03:34

Another new joiner here - have also NC’d for purposes of this thread.
Collected my pen (Mounjaro) from Asda pharmacy Thurs 8th, intending to start 9am Friday - but couldn’t sleep tonight, so have just gone downstairs and injected the first dose.
Agree the thought of it is far, far worse than the deed itself!
Now propped up in bed with a cup of tea and a book .

ScotsLassie6 · 09/05/2025 06:57

@MrsCreekgood luck. When does your pen arrive. My husband is heading away for a couple of weeks now. I’m wondering if I will lose enough while he is away that he notices?

I was a bit worried I might have a really bad reaction that would make it obvious but so far so good just the initial migraine, but that could have been the anxiety.

I did send details to my GP as I thought it was important someone knew just in case. Let me know how you get on. It’s good to have somewhere to talk about the journey.

Seahorsesplendour · 09/05/2025 07:04

apologies if this has already been discussed have flicked through the thread but there is so much!!!

Doing my first injection tomorrow and just wondering on pros & cons of morning or night jabbing??

Anyone got any thoughts?

Iggy35 · 09/05/2025 07:24

Today is my jab day, 2nd week.
I'm very pleased with my first week- I'm down 3.5kg, about 7lbs (my starting weight was very high, 112kg, 242 lbs).

I have PCOS so the weight just never goes off .... this loss is like a small miracle for me.

Although I could feel the effects of the first jab wearing off during day 5/6/7 I still felt full much faster, even after I only ate a very small portion.

Good luck to everyone starting this week! 🤞🏼

WhynotJanet · 09/05/2025 07:52

Joining the thread so I can hopefully get some support along the way. I haven’t told anyone that I’m on Mounjaro. I’m doing this because I’ve started to get health issues due to my weight. Ordered from Med Express a couple of weeks ago but they kept rejecting my photo but eventually approved the prescription.
I started on Monday this week and was so nervous about possible side effects but have been fine so far so long may that continue.

BluNavy · 30/04/2025 20:26

Really interesting to hear others thoughts.
I'm using my fitness pall and have set a target of 35% carbs 35% protein 30% fat and it's hard to achieve the protein.

I’m using NutraChek doing 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat . So far this week, I’m well under for carbs, still under for protein but over for fats. Although interestingly Saturated fats are ok.

I chose to do my jabs at night, about 8pm. I'm on W2D2. My thinking was to sleep through any immediate side effects, but others have reported SEs have happened after a few days so not sure if it makes any difference really.
Luckily minimal SEs for me. Some increased thirst, mild bloating, and a little bit of nausea that is resolved by eating something.
I'm definitely experiencing suppression. I can still eat a normal meal but way smaller portions than I used to have and I'm not wanting to snack between meals.

That’s amazing!! Well done! You’ve given me hope for this time next week! I’m a similar weight

Thank you! I’d also wondered about that but maybe am overthinking it and just need to do it!!

Its been 12 hours since I took my first dose. Not noticed anything yet apart from slightly dry mouth.

I was wondering if other people are being open about taking the injections? So far I have told my partner. I am also finding myself questioning friends who have recently lost a shed load of weight 🤣

I am most excited to feel better for my kids. I am about 3 stone heavier than 5 years ago. I dont know how I have let it happen.

I’ve not told anyone yet. DH is away working and haven’t told him either. I just wanted to see how I get on first before telling people
