Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

W3 D3 for me. All going well, no side effects really except I get a weird taste in my mouth for about 24 hours following jab. 10lbs down. Some days food noise is less than others - have noticed if I have a day of not eating much and struggling to hit my calories, then the following day I definitely have more food noise/cravings, so my body is obviously telling me to eat more! So today I’m making an effort to eat 3 proper meals (I’ve been skipping breakfast).

Has anyone else suffered with really sore, chapped lips on this? Mine have been horrendous this week. Not dehydration as I drink over 3 litres of water a day. Not sure if it’s MJ related or because I’ve started running more outside due to the lighter evenings and better weather. Either way it’s so sore!

Good morning all.

So took my 4th 2.5mg jab yesterday morning and weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1 lb this week - was a bit disheartened at first but had a chat with myself. I've lost 9lb in 3 weeks which averages out at 3lb per week which is great. Its funny though I weighed myself last night (after dinner) and this morning and I was exactly the same weight which I thought was strange. Will be starting 5mg next week.

Can anyone recommend a good app to log my weight - I've seen people use Happy Scale - does anyone use it? (there is a subscription but if it is good I don;t mind paying for it.)

SW: 13st 7lb
CW: 12st 12lbs
GW: 10st 3lb

Week 1: -5lb
Week 2: -3lb
Week 3: -1lb

Edited

I really recommend happyscale. I weigh myself every morning and it smooths out your weight fluctuations to tell you what your overall trend is which is really reassuring. I have found I gain 2-3lbs during the course of the day and weight can fluctuate a lot over the week but overall trend is down!

Hi, not sore lips but my skin on my face especially around my mouth/nose is very dry, I sometimes get this in winter it does seem like dehydration but like you I'm def drinking between 3-4 litres a day. Must be a side effect of the jab.

AgnethaF · 03/04/2025 11:11

W3 D6 for me. I had to order my new pen for delivery before next Friday, and wasn't sure whether to go for 2.5 again, or up the dose to 5....

I had some hungry times on Monday after a lovely 3 course lunch out with my family for Mothers Day on Sunday, so was worried the effects were wearing off a bit.

Decided to go with 5, but wondering if this was a mistake? Reading so many people sticking with the 2.5 for months!

I'm glad I've ordered, as the earliest delivery date with Oushk was next Thursday, so if I had waited longer, I might have missed my Friday injection day.

Someone asked in a pp how much it was costing with Oushk, and it was £134.99 including delivery and with £22 discount code (BDAY22).

Has anyone had success with the Golden Dose? I don't fancy using a longer needle, so would only do it if I could use the existing small needles and the "super twist" method.

This is really interesting to know because I've been struggling with dry skin on my face the past week or so. I actually thought it was the new micellar water I'd bought for cleaning my face in the morning so stopped that but it hasn't gotten any better. Perhaps it's a MJ thing then!

soupforbrains · 03/04/2025 11:39

@AgnethaFits an entirely personal choice. If people are having side effects, or are getting consistent suppression and weight loss then there is no need to increase the dose. If you’re finding suppression wears off then you may well want to go up. Everyone naturally has different levels of these hormones so the difference that the MJ lower doses will make is completely individual to each person. Don’t make your decisions based on what others are doing.

on the topic of golden dose; you do know that the syringe needles you can buy to extract from the pen do not have to be any larger or longer than the ones you get with the pen right?! It just depends on what you buy.

Twinsandsome · 03/04/2025 13:14

Does anyone know of any providers that will prescribe to someone who has previously had weight loss surgery in the past? I’m with med express who won’t

popdepop · 03/04/2025 13:43

W2 D6 next 2.5mg injection tomorrow. No suppression but have been good. I really hope I've lost as i had a meal out last night. I feel heavier but can't see how I can be.. fingers crossed 🤞

Hopeformestill · 03/04/2025 15:52

Hi all, hope you don’t mind a late arrival. W2D6 jab day tomorrow, weigh day Monday 3.5lb down so far.

I've had dry eyes but it seems to be easing off now (wk 3 d 5)

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 03/04/2025 17:55

I've ordered 5mg as my 2nd pen. Worried about ordering 2.5 and the effects wearing off. I may well just do 2.5 anyway if it's still working, or 3.75, ir even 2.5 twice a week...at least I have the option if I have the 5mg pen.

popdepop · 03/04/2025 18:22

I'm looking to switching to Oushk. Tomorrow is W3D1 so hoping I'm ordering in plenty of time and will be ordering 5mg. Has anyone had experience of them?

qotsa · 03/04/2025 19:00

I started MJ in November and just wanted to share a tip. In December I copied and pasted my MedExpress referral code a few times, a few different days. Probably only three different days though and Mumsnet stop you posting multiple times if you do it too many times on the trot. So not many. Anyway. Since March the 10th I have had so many £40 credits. I am now at over £3000, have four pens in the fridge and there’s no way I’ll use the credit as I have about a stone to go 🤦🏻‍♀️ so do it now. So wish I had as it would’ve paid for the lot. Honestly have never shared it anywhere else. Just a few threads on here. Madness. Great too - but wish someone else could use my credit 😆

@EchoNova
i have been using Happy scale for years (weight has been up and down over the years). It is great- I totally recommend

IngoGreen · 03/04/2025 21:36

Hi all, interesting discussions, thanks all for sharing.
So lovely people, how do you navigate sharing info with others IRL? I told my 17 year old daughter today that I’m using MJ as it is weird with me eating less and not having snacks or any interest in food or baking. And as I lose more will get more obvious. I don’t want her to think it’s purely from going to the gym and swimming. I hope MJ becomes a standard, available and well respected health measure as the evidence piles up and it goes off licence. Always steered clear of any talk about food and weight at home and daughter has healthy attitude to food. But it does feel like a minefield. She is mature and said she gets it and that I don’t want to broadcast it as I have friends who would like to start too don’t have the £ to start MJ at the moment. More conversation about ageing and menopause and health benefits of losing so ok in the end. Why did that feel so hard?

BeaTwix · 03/04/2025 22:10

@IngoGreen I've not told anyone.

I can't stand the judgement or people knowing if I fail. So no help here. I live on my own which helps with hiding it.

Out and about I'm just telling people I'm being careful and trying to up my protein intake.

I'm Wk 4 Day 1 today and my suppression is much better than last week. I had brunch out and just had that (pancakes with poached eggs and avocado) an apple late afternoon and then went for tapas with my very clean eating vegetarian friend. I did have two small glasses of wine though.

Let's see what tomorrow brings. Work has been mad this week so I didn't have time to prep my usual lunch boxes so tomorrow I have a quinoa and avocado salad from M&S.

TryingMJ · 04/04/2025 06:40

Good morning all,

Week 5 weigh in:

Start weight 13 stone 6.5lbs

Weight today 12 stone 2lbs

Loss this week 2.2lbs

Total loss 1 stone 4.5lbs (5 weeks).

Very happy! And feeling really good. Jab 6 tonight. I’m on my second pen of 2.5mg and deciding whether to go up to 5mg for my third pen.

I’m a teacher and we have one more week left until Easter holidays (I know some areas break up today but not us!) so I am wondering if I can hit an 11 stone weight on the scales for the start of the holidays, even 11 stone 13.9lbs 😁 just to see that new stone bracket (and then see how it goes with all the Easter treats… 😵‍💫🥴)

Happy Friday everyone!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/04/2025 08:15

Well done @TryingMJ it's truly amazing isn't it?

Sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm on track for a 5lb loss in week 3. I just can't believe it! When I look at it like that I'm not sure I should have ordered a 5mg pen....

taylorswift1989 · 04/04/2025 09:05

I'm due for my third jab tomorrow and I can't wait. Pretty sure my 2nd jab had zero effect whatsoever - maybe i did it wrong, maybe the injection site was the problem, I don't know. Really hoping that jab 3 is going to end the food noise or at least quiet it down. The last two days have been as if I've never even heard of MJ.

I very nearly brought the jab forward to today, but I've got to be on a train for four hours this afternoon and while I don't expect any big side effects, I decided better not risk it. Keeping everything crossed for a better week, starting tomorrow!

BVsMum · 04/04/2025 10:07

Does anyone find that if they drink the recommended amount of water … there isn’t room for food?

I’m really struggling with my water intake because of this

Just had my 3rd jab this morning, and I also think my second jab did nothing for me .

Deadringer · 04/04/2025 10:51

I am halfway through my second week and have lost 4 pounds so far which I am happy about, I have also reached my first mini goal which is to go under 14 stone, I am delighted about that. Not feeling a huge amount of suppression but the edge is definitely off my appetite so I can make better choices.
