Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Thanks for the new thread!

Morning all,
Checking in to the new thread. I just posted on the old thread and now moving over here.

Hungerbegone · 17/03/2025 07:02

Morning can I please join? I just took my first dose of 2.5 last night.
sw: 14.10.2
gw: 10.10 (might change to 9.10 if I’m getting on well)

I’ve woken up with bad nausea and anxiety but apart from that I’m all good. I’m really hoping that this helps me, I’ve been so miserable at my weight. I always lose weight successfully but then put it all back on, I really need some help.

RuthEvershedforPM · 17/03/2025 07:04

Good morning all.

Checking in on new thread :)

Have good weeks everyone x

mumofmanydaughterofone · 17/03/2025 07:19

Well I think I've well and truly found something's I'm not going to be eating on this 🤣 had meatballs last night for tea - only a few but Oh My Lord - hardly slept a wink and first time of sulphur burps - I feel terrible. Might stick to fish and white meat from now on

Pipsballoon · 17/03/2025 07:26

@TheSpoonyNavyReader thanks for the new thread.

You are not the only one who is freezing, I’m finding this side effect very bizarre. I’ve always had warm hands, I’ve always run on the warm side, and it’s just so strange to now always feel a bit cold, with really cold hands in particular! Anyone got any theories for why we get so cold? I’m wondering if it’s the low sugar thing, as I’ve never been on such a low sugar diet for a consistent period of time!

Wouldratherbewatchingmafs · 17/03/2025 07:40

Thank you for the new thread! Loving hearing everyone's updates :)
I've just ordered my second pen, and waiting for approval. I've gone for 5mg this time but a bit nervous as I am feeling suppression still on 2.5mg dose.
Managed not to have weighed myself so far this week but might have a sneak peek tomorrow morning ahead of my jab day (Weds).
Have a good week all :)

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 17/03/2025 07:41

Morning all. First jab yesterday and slept so badly, wide awake for much of the night. Still , no sickness or anything else as yet.

Hippobottymus · 17/03/2025 07:49

Morning everybody - huge well dones for the weight loss so far.

Monday’s are my official way day so after the first full week:
SW 14st 4lb
CW 13st 11lb
TW 10st

I’m absolutely thrilled with it and quite relieved. This hasn’t been the ‘easy’ fix I had thought it might be - I still get hungry, I’ve had no side effects (except being cold!), I could’ve still eaten chocolate, crisps, and fast foods easily. But the Mounjaro has made it feel like I have a choice, for the first time in my adult life.

What’s everyone planning on doing for maintenance (I know it’s early days still!), I’ve seen mixed reviews about who will let you stay on/what BMI they let you get to. 10st gives me a BMI of 22 (reasonable imo) but I’m worried they’ll stop me when I reach BMI 24/24.5/25.

Anyone done better research than me? Blush

I have also thought about maintenance, I am unsure if I will have to stay on this medication for the rest of my life. I was a snacker always grazing. I could not walk past the fridge without popping my head in and eating something, eating a packet of crisps when I opened the cupboard. I can see that now as I have not done that with MJ.

I am scared that my supplier will cut me of when I get to a BMI of 25, that is still not a good look on me and frankly I look overweight at 25. I am taking photos today for progress, I deleted my photos I sent to Medexpress as they were hideous. I think I will keep them so that I never get like I am now again.

I don't believe pharmacies will stop you when you get to a healthy BMI but most won't let you continue for maintenance or, go back on if you're struggling. Places like Oushk and Cloud Pharmacy have good maintenance plans. I will move to Oushk for my 3rd pen and stay with them.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 17/03/2025 08:29

Is the general maintainable plan, a lower dose? I've read lots of people finding the effects wearing off with weight still to lose (higher doses) , and that is why the doses go up after all.

I'm really really hoping I can make some new healthier habits and maintain on my own.

PlexGirl34 · 17/03/2025 08:35

Thanks for new thread l. New to this group yesterday. Halfway through W1 so tempted to jump on the scales and see but nervous.

SW 13.4
GW 9.4

Loveab123 · 17/03/2025 08:35

Thanks for the new thread! How is everyone? My 2nd jab was meant to be yesterday but I felt awful, loaded with the cold and just wanted comfort food. So postponed it to today. Going to try and eat clean, drink lots of water before jabbing to avoid any side effects hopefully.

Sleepeazie · 17/03/2025 08:39

morning, I am week 2 day 9!
I was a total of 7.1 pounds down yesterday (scale shows a little jump today).

I was due to jab yesterday and didn’t.. I’m not really sure why. I keep building each injection up in my head, and I just couldn’t face it.

As I said earlier in the first thread, the jab quietened my thoughts (strongly suspected AuDHD like my ds). Well, I’ve kind of felt myself sliding into a really low mood. I’m not sure whether it’s the jab (maybe it’s acting on my ADHD but not autistic traits), or my HRT which I’ve only been on a few months.

One of the reasons I started the HRT was low moods, which I’ve never had before and were clearly hormonal.

Up until starting mounjaro I really felt the HRT had made me like my old self. So I’m not sure. It could also just be a point in my cycle.

So I’ve taken my HRT patch off (Thursday) and not jabbed.

Anyway, I have no extra food noise yet, so I’ll decide on the next couple of days whether to carry on.

Has anybody else felt low? I know it can be a symptom.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 17/03/2025 08:49

Did my half marathon on a bowl of porridge and a soreen. Not ideal but I felt queasy while running. Then went to favourite restaurant post race where I managed half a starter and a few bites of main course. Couple of biscuits when I got home. I think MJ is witchcraft..

tryingtobesogood · 17/03/2025 08:50

Morning

jab 3 for me yesterday and the side effects have almost gone. I’m moving up to 5mg in a couple of weeks, hoping it will keep this all going. I am due to weigh on Weds, hoping for any loss to be honest after a 5lb loss last week.

is anyone else using weight watchers alongside this? I’m finding it really helpful and for the first time ever have no problems sticking to the plan. It’s my long term plan for getting and keeping the weight off.

I haven't personally. However, a close friend of mine stopped MJ because she felt it made her depressed. I think the side effects are so varied.

I've only been on it a week so can't really say much on that side of things.

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/03/2025 08:56

Good morning and thankyou Spoony.
I was losing appetite suppression and the impulse to snack although not hungry came back about half way through week 2 . Does this mean I should be increasing to 5 mg in week 5? It’s very nice to hear people’s experiences isn’t it?

AvantiAreShit · 17/03/2025 08:58

Checking in. Morning all.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 17/03/2025 08:59

Morning everyone!

Bit the bullet and just did my first dose.
Felt soo unnatural injecting myself, but it was totally fine, didn’t feel a thing. Found it a bit tricky pushing it down, though.

Here we go! Smile

cmh18 · 17/03/2025 09:03

I'm only on week 2, but regards maintenance I think that working on your relationship with food will help in the long term. Prior to starting I had been working with a dietician to help me deal with my binge eating tendencies and managing the food noise, when I started mounjaro I'd made huge progress with this. The reason I started the jabs was because although my eating was more ordered I was still struggling to lose weight. I do believe that working on the underlying issues is hugely important, and I feel that approaching the issue from more than one direction will help with long term results.p

FrozenFractal · 17/03/2025 09:21

Morning all and thanks for the new thread!

I am on the verge of my first milestone - getting under 16st. I am juuuuust a little bit over as of this morning so have high hopes for the end of the week.

Hello all, thanks for the new thread! Checking in after doing third jab on Saturday.

SW: 93.2kg
CW: 89.4kg

It's coming off but wish it would be a bit faster! Looking doubtful I'll hit a stone before the end of this pen, but we'll see.

soupforbrains · 17/03/2025 09:35

Morning everyone. Thanks Spoont for the new thread.

thank you to everyone who sent wishes for my dad. I’ll be heading up to the hospital soon. And hoping for progress.

GOOD NEWS though…. I was NOT sick last night. Despite the discomfort all day my actions did manage to stave off the actual vomiting so you know… progress.

am very interested in the microdosing with the way I react the day after the jab splitting the dose across the week might work well for me. I may try it next week.
