Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Evening all. W2 D5, back to diahorreah for me. Some suppression. If nothing else I'll be losing weight by never being off the toilet. Hopefully it will settle.
Stuck to calories. I'm feeling very exhausted!

Day 2 after my first injection and I’m starving! When does the suppression kick in? 🤣 I’ve been trying to drink as much water as I can but our tap water isn’t that nice.

Same where I live, it's awful. It only tastes mildly better using a brita water filter. So now we buy cheap bottled water in a 6pack. My favourite water thesedays is Morrisons own brand - Yorkshire Vale. Works out about 40p for 2 litres when bought as a 6 pack of 2litres.

Hello lovelies. Sorry for the slowness and I can’t remember who it was who asked after my well-being and how Sunday went.

it went well. A little bit grumbly tummy but no more than that. No vomiting or any other illness so definitely an improvement! I did my second half dose this morning and am feeling good too. So fingers crossed this the the solution I’ve been waiting for.

I'm still having good suppression and am losing weight. So things are looking up in the world of soup.

That is great news!

@taylorswift1989 I have 5st to lose, starting at just over 16st. Although if I get down to 11st, at 5ft7, I will be at the very top of healthy range. I do remember feeling great at that weight though and can’t imagine being another stone or two lighter but we shall see when we get there! I’m also mindful that BMI is a massive oversimplification.

I'm 5ft 7 too and my GW is 11st 7. I'll still be in the overweight category but having just checked, my "healthy weight range" is between 8st 7 and 11st 5. I spent my teens and 20s hovering at just over 9st, and everyone thought I had an eating disorder, it's not a healthy weight for me!

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/04/2025 20:27

I might have to go buy some bottled water then. I am drinking squash but I don’t want to drink too much of it!

28Spring · 01/04/2025 20:58

@soupforbrains are you sure about the smart scales as I bought the eufy ones as recommended by a PP and they tell you all sorts including visceral fat and it says it does this by ‘Eufy scales, like many smart scales, utilize BIA technology. BIA sends a weak electrical current through the body, and the resistance encountered by the current varies depending on the composition of the tissues (lean tissue, fat, etc.). so that’s not just using weight? But correct me if I’m wrong as I am no expert! But I bloomin love these scales!! As weight is not the whole picture and they’re great for motivation with all the other data it gives you…

soupforbrains · 01/04/2025 21:23

@28Springyes I’m sure. BIA is a thing which exists but it’s largely ineffective. Especially in home devices. You would need to have equipment which costs thousands (and does actual body density scans not just BIA) for it to be reliable or any better than purely the calculation side of things. You can very easily Google BIA.

if you enjoy tracking it all then that’s great but just bear in mind that it’s very unscientific and not actually unique to the individual and is ultimately still predominantly using standard equations. It can, like BMI still be a useful tool to track but I just mean don’t depend on it as fact thats all.

additionally there are very few home scales that have any BIA tech in them at all and which still are ‘smart scales’ and entirely use formulas.

3rd week and jabbed my thigh for a change, it was actually a bit nippy compared to my stomach where I feel nothing. Anyone else the same? Starting to panic a little that I've done it wrong!

Choirgirl699 · 01/04/2025 21:40

This is my 5th week on 2.5mg, suppression has been good, little to no food noise. Everyday I've eaten a couple of blocks of Tony's Chocoloney or a homemade low sugar biscuit. Went to my friends for dinner tonight and I had a tiny slice of chocolate brownie cake with a rolo on the top. It was disgusting!!! The rolo was so sweet I still feel sick 1 hour later from the taste. 6 weeks ago I could have easily polished a tube of rolos off in 10mins. Never again, yuck!!!

TryForSpring · 01/04/2025 22:11

There was a good BBC radio programme on smart scales that made me think I wouldn't bother, but that a DEXA scan would be interesting.

CallMeStella · 01/04/2025 23:19

@taylorswift1989I have 8 stone to lose 🙈🤣 so I’m with you all the way girlie 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’d like to get back down to 10 stone and even at that weight I’m classed as overweight which is ridiculous.

@soupforbrainsI’m so glad the SE are finally calming down for you 🙏🏼❤️ you’ve had an awful start but you’ve done amazingly sticking with it, that’s definitely one thing to be proud of!

I’m on W2D2, first week I did half a dose, this week a full dose. Absolutely 0 good or bad change 😂 I feel like normal me, but I’m in this for the long haul so I’m thankful that I haven’t had any bad side effects yet as I have enough health issues to deal with making me feel yukky every day.

I will however think of some rewards for reaching milestone losses (once I eventually start losing weight that is 🤣) I never thought of doing that and love the idea! Thank you to whoever mentioned it!

Well done everyone for persevering!

Spoony, talk to me about Botox.. I’ve never had it and I’m interested for further down the weight loss journey. I’m 39 (40 in the summer) and my face is quite round and plump- definitely a moon face! But I’m worried about sag/“ozempic face” as I lose, now I’m older than I have been when I’ve been slimmer before. My neck in particular is the first area showing signs… can one get neck Botox?! What’s the cost like, the pain, how long does it last?

@TryingMJ Botox is painless, it depends on how many areas you have done, I will be getting 3 areas and a brow lift. I have a small amount around my eyes as they are getting a little wrinkly.

For your neck it would be filler. You can also have check and jaw filler this would combat the weight loss face.

Research who you go to and then research some more, my Botox lady is amazing and a trained dentist so she knows what she is doing.

In a few weeks I will name change and post a few before and after photos of my weight and some photos of Botox.

Weigh day for me today and I've lost another 3lbs Star
That means I've lost 1 stone and a half pound in 4 weeks. This blows my tiny mind!!!!
I'm still experiencing strong suppression on 2.5mg and in fact the last week this feeling has been even stronger! My jab day isn't until Friday but so far this week I've ben ok with eating breakfast and dinner but struggling to eat lunch strangely.

SW March 2024 - 18 stone 10lbs
SW March 2025 (started taking MJ) - 14 stone 4.5lbs
CW - 13 stone 4 lbs

I'm kind of waiting for the loss so I wouldn't be surprised if it's this week. I can't believe that some people feel this level of hunger/food noise naturally. No wonder some people don't understand over-eating/obesity!

Van34 · 02/04/2025 07:09

W4 D4
SW 236lb
CW 227lb
GW 180lb (to start with)
Little NSV again for me.

In bed I like to lay on my back with my hands joined just under my boobs (think fingers locked together) previously my elbows haven't touched the mattress and it become uncomfortable as I have to sort of hold my arms up. Early hours of this morning I realised that my elbows were touching the mattress!!!
I've either lost inches or my arms have grown.

28Spring · 02/04/2025 07:26

Loving all the positive NSV’s well done everyone and great weight loss too!

Jab day and weigh in day today, I’m going to try half dose as nausea was bad over the weekend and wasn’t eating enough calories so we’ll see how 30 clicks goes…

W1 -6lbs
W2 -2lbs
W3 -3lbs
Hoping to lose 1-2lbs this week on half dose…have a social end of term thing on Friday and would like to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine instead of sitting cradling the same glass all night as it turns my stomach (although obviously I know that’s a very positive side effect health wise!! Just trying to find a good balance) xxx

Going in the right direction

northernlight20 · 02/04/2025 07:48

Golden dose done. Had 0.70ml, I’m guessing that’s about 3mg? Does anyone know?

taylorswift1989 · 02/04/2025 08:06

@CallMeStella hello! There's actually quite a few of us with a substantial bit of weight to lose so I'm glad I shouted up :) You were all here, I just wasn't seeing you! Good luck with the MJ - I'm on W2D4 and feeling zero effects after a brilliant week last week.

Well, zero effects might be exaggerating a bit. I've definitely found portion control to be easier this week and I'm not overeating, but I've also had lots of food noise and hunger.

Has anyone tried having their next dose with less than a week in between? The leaflet says it should be at least four days between doses. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to do my next dose before the week is up. I want to see if it will have some effect but maybe I'm just being impatient (adhd brain).

Bipaloss · 02/04/2025 08:23

Although tempting I wouldn’t put the doses closer together in the first few weeks unless it’s a day or so for convenience. 2.5 mg is not a therapeutic dose and many are not loosing on 2.5. The dose is for the body to adjust so that the side effects on 5mg is not as bad.

also MJ has half time around 4-5 days which means it builds up in your system over time

I had a very strong 1st week but since then suppression and food noise is much less, but do come in waves however I still feel my body is adjusting and every day and week is different. A lot is will power (which is a good tool for the long runners to practice)

Im starting 5mg on Sunday

Bubbless31 · 02/04/2025 08:23

W1D3 here and I’m feeling so so tired and lethargic. I woke up this morning and was mentally planning when I could have a nap! Feeling a bit sick too, I need to try and eat something I think.

a bit nervous as we are going to the in laws next week and I’m worried jabbing again on Sunday will mean I feel more unwell next week- has anyone jabbed later or done anything to help with this?!

Im sure you're right! But what i don't get is how you can have a good response in week 1 then nothing in week 2? The drug is supposed to build up in your body so why isn't week 2 a slightly stronger response than week 1?

I can understand if you've had no response at all on 2.5mg. But what's the reason that it would seemingly produce less of a response despite there being more of the drug in your body?

Loveab123 · 02/04/2025 08:59

Morning after the first jab in the thigh and not the stomach. No side effects so far. Don't feel hungry but that's not unusual for me in the morning. Will see how the rest of the day goes.

@northernlight20 that’s 2.9mg. Hope the screenshot is readable, I found it useful. Will be doing the same on Friday!

Good morning all.

So took my 4th 2.5mg jab yesterday morning and weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1 lb this week - was a bit disheartened at first but had a chat with myself. I've lost 9lb in 3 weeks which averages out at 3lb per week which is great. Its funny though I weighed myself last night (after dinner) and this morning and I was exactly the same weight which I thought was strange. Will be starting 5mg next week.

Can anyone recommend a good app to log my weight - I've seen people use Happy Scale - does anyone use it? (there is a subscription but if it is good I don;t mind paying for it.)

SW: 13st 7lb
CW: 12st 12lbs
GW: 10st 3lb

Week 1: -5lb
Week 2: -3lb
Week 3: -1lb

MJMabel · 02/04/2025 09:33

I use the Shotsy app.

There is an option to pay for it, but for me at the moment I’m happy with the basic free offering.
