2nd dose done! Hoping to feel the effects this week.

SW: 115.8kg
CW:109.1kg

I either need new scales or I was holding on to so much water weight because a 6kg loss just isn't right. Fitbit/MFP data says I've had a 7000cal deficit this week, so that should be about a 0.9kg loss.

I'm fully expecting to see a gain over this next week.

What scales is everyone else using?

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 22/02/2025 19:26

@ThursdaysMonkey I have taken 4 doses at 2.5 and going to take my bonus dose next week.
I am staying on 2.5 for my next pen as I have huge suppression and no side effects other than being cold in the evenings. I have lost 13lb so far in this time and really happy with that so for me it makes perfect sense to stay on the same dose for another month.

Febnewbie · 22/02/2025 20:03

I am still in the same place of having lost inches but not lbs so I am going to wait one more week, if I haven't lost any weight at all, I will go up to 5

mumandgran24 · 22/02/2025 20:56

Regarding who u have told I had discussed it with my oh as he had been talking to his sister who had been in it and was very pleased with her losses. My two teenagers who live at home know because they saw the delivery and were curious. I discussed it with them and also discussed about needing to make changes to lifestyle and it only being something that someone obese should use. Despite being big myself I managed to have 4 kids non of whom have weight issues. My older teen offered to do more cooking and some healthier meals and the younger one offered to come on walks with me. Hubby wants to lose a bit of weight but more wants to get healthier and get his cholesterol down so he also wants to reduce red meat and eat more veggie meals and fish. So it makes it a bit easy for me as they all know. But apart from the 2 in laws we chatted with about it as one was using MJ themselves no one else is in on it. My teens and hubby are sworn to secrecy for now.

Supergirl1958 · 22/02/2025 22:28

Evening!

took my first jab last evening! Overnight I had night sweats! I was up and down to the loo for a few hours (but solid no2s!) and felt nauseous!
I know I need to improve, but ate 2 boiled eggs and two rounds of toast around 2pm and a regular portion of tea around half 6. Indigestion was bad afterwards…but can’t help feeling like a full portion for tea wasn’t good (it was curry and rice) but I was hungry.
worried I will have more difficulty overnight!

ive peed a lot more today! Anyone else?

I’ve had really positive conversations with my children too. They’re not quite teens, but old enough to have a really quality discussion about health, diets, obesity … the whole lot really. As a family we’re talking about it more than we ever have and we’re all making better choices, which has been a good surprise.

1st injection last night.
SW 127.7Kg
GW initially 100kg
am looking to aim for calorie deficit at 1400 but get as much nutrition as possible in that.

On yesterday's question about losing weight from different areas than normal diets, apparently Mj can help distribute fat better and also works on the visceral fat. Makes sense you'd see differences.
I think my saddle bags have reduced a bit which is quite a pleasant surprise so soon in the journey...

pinkcow123 · 23/02/2025 07:00

Morning,

End of week 3 weigh in.... -3lb! 🎉

Week 1 - 8lb
Week 2 - 4lb
Week 3 - 3lb

16lb / 1 stone 2lb down!

Jab 4 tonight! I have ordered my next one, I'm sticking at 2.5mg for the next month! It's worked for me. I have had to use willpower as well, but I also want this weight to stay off and I'm a good mix of minimal food noise, but also feeling hungry.

pinkcow123 · 23/02/2025 07:04

To add, my first goal is to get down to my post pregnancy weight. I put 20kg on in the first year of my second child's life 🙈. It was a tough year tbf.

But, I'm over 1/4 of the way there!!

Ohsoverytired11 · 23/02/2025 07:31

Week 2 weight in and 2.6lbs off! Happy with that

SW: 14st 2.6lbs
CW: 13st 9.4lbs

7.2lbs loss in total over the 2 weeks 😀 I desperately need new bras though!

hopeMJ · 23/02/2025 07:52

First dose last night! Seem ok so far...bit restless overnight but nothing terrible.

SW: 18st 10lb
GW: 12st - maybe?

That is a massive loss, doesn't sound quite right have you tried new batteries

I'm going to the chemist on a Tuesday as our scales don't work and I asked hubbie to sort it in January and he still hasn't.

I'd be weighing daily if I could at home and taking the average/lowest

so on day 4 at the moment of my first week and I can believe how much suppression I am getting. Only had a tiny bit of nausea but have had some tiredness and the odd headache. Although I think the headaches maybe from not eating sugar and eating less overall. Plus drinking lots of water so maybe the same kind of headaches you get when your body is purging itself. Had simular at the start of other diets. Especially when I used to do intermittent fasting. My suppression is so high and am often having to make myself eat so I am unsure if I should go to a higher dose next month as they recommend or not. But it’s early days I will see how I go next week as well before I decide.

Nothingoriginalhere · 23/02/2025 09:05

End of week 1:
Have been super good, calorie counting - sticking to a deficit and also loosely following slimming world so I have a plan for after the jabs. Have had 2-3 litres of water every day also but very pleased with results ( I know water weight and everything but I feel better already)
minimal side effects so far - but headaches occasionally and some nausea.

SW 13st 6.5lb
GW 9st 7lb
CW 13st 0.5lb ( gutted I didn’t lose that last 1/2 lb though)

Onwards and downwards week 2 starts!

incognitomummy · 23/02/2025 09:49

What scales are you all using?
We have an ancient set in our bathroom but I'm looking to get a new set for our guest bathroom (my bathroom!!!).

Ragdollmummy1977 · 23/02/2025 09:55

i feel awful went and had a bottle of wine last night and normally I wake up feeling absolutely fine but I have a splitting sore head and the guilt is eating me up for even drinking it. Worried I have ruined all my hrs work through the week 🥲

Choux · 23/02/2025 09:58

I have these. They measure so many things and graph it all on the app. Amazing value for £20 and I love checking out my progress. My metabolic age has come down 8 years and now matches my real age (I am at goal weight now). Still need to lose a bit more fat and gain a bit more muscle to be at optimum health though. That's this years goal.

MJSpideySenses · 23/02/2025 10:04

@incognitomummy I just have Salter ones, I don't think they do anything fancy but they are accurate. A lot of people on here seem to recommend Renpho scales.

@Ragdollmummy1977 Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. Even if you've undone your progress, get back on it and you'll soon surpass it.

I use these. Love that they have an app and are a good price.

hopeMJ · 23/02/2025 10:16

hi @Supergirl1958 - yes we do! How are you finding it so far?

Concavedreaming · 23/02/2025 10:25

Hi all. Week 4 started for me yesterday. I am currently trying to figure out what to do with the 5th dose, I am a bit odd about syringes, but if it is normal. 4mm most poople said and 2.5ml? dose. It seems so covert.
I have been getting food noise from day 5 onwards, and also still have a sweet tooth despite not feeling hungry. Managed to get round that by buying fruit squares, so real fruit dried (so sugar content is high) but also has fibre. Means after excersise I am coping ok and no lightheadedness. Just take my time eating them rather than hit myself with sugar. Also found phyllis husk tablets really helpful. Have to up the water drinking again in that. I am probably going to stay on the dosage I am on now as I am struggling to be motivated to eat a proper meal more than once a day, rest of the time graze on bits, so I need to get that sorted. Maybe do 3.75 in a few weeks, see how that goes.

Don’t feel guilty, please! Look on it this way - you tried something that no longer works for you. Now you know. This is all about reforming our relationship with food (and drink). There are bound to be some pitfalls along the way.

Keep going!

SpiralSister · 23/02/2025 10:32

Weigh in day today for me, jab 3 tomorrow.

SW: 215
CW: 207
GW: 168 (initially)

Hardly the most stunning loss! But I’ve not had much suppression at all yet - it’s very subtle. However, my IBS has gone. It’s a miracle!

Have now told DH, who was a bit worried, but supportive. Certainly not judgemental.

Happy Sunday!
