@Ragdollmummy1977 one bottle of wine won’t undo your progress, fear not. Dont beat yourself up. Don’t weigh today though as the water retention will add weight.

plenty water for you today, and hope you feel better soon 😊

pinkcow123 · 23/02/2025 10:44

@SpiralSister my IBS has gone too!! It's insane!! Clearly food was just travelling way too fast through my gut!

Feb2025start · 23/02/2025 10:46

Into week 4 and I've gained a kilo 😅 which actually makes me quite happy! The huge losses I'd seen in the first two weeks were clearly unsustainable (and mostly water weight) and I was a bit worried I'd end up looking haggard/'skinny fat' which has happened before when I lost a lot very quickly on keto.

This week I've been really focusing on getting the right nutrients (which has sometimes meant eating when I don't really fancy it) and have been hitting the gym/weights and yoga hard. So I guess all of that could have contributed!

Also - I use fancy 'Fitquest' scales at the gym which measure body fat/muscle mass/hydration as well as weight/BMI and give you an overall 'body age' based on all of those. I didn't make a note of my fat/muscle measurements previously but do distinctly remember it telling me I had the body of a 47 year old at my first weigh in - well, I'm now apparently 38 which is slightly less than my actual age, so I must be doing something right 😆

SW - 79.8kg
W3/CW - 69kg

Good luck everyone else!

Day 2 and yikes was I thirsty through the night. Ended up reading more about mounjaro and honestly, whoever said people hate fat people losing weight is bang on. For the first time I'm really realising how people rely on 'inferior' fat people for their own sense of worth, it's awful.

hopeMJ · 23/02/2025 10:16

hi @Supergirl1958 - yes we do! How are you finding it so far?

I’m on my second full day after jab. Yesterday was a little tricky! Hot sweats overnight, and felt a little ropey! Lots of toilet trips in the morning! I feel a little tired but I haven’t slept well the last couple of nights anyway.

my first weigh in is on Friday, and work could be tricky, a little nervous about portions. Have just had two rounds of toast for a late breakfast, and a cup of coffee. Normally need something extra, but genuinely not thinking about food now!

how about you?

I might have been me..😂

Honestly, spot on. Just eat less and move more! You lazy, greedy, thickos! I mean, the statement is correct. It just ignores the fact that some of us find eating less way, way more difficult than others.

Now there is a way to improve that. So now we are ‘cheating’. Some slim people are in danger of losing their whipping boy and they don’t like it a bit.

Fuck em.

Hello,
I’m on day two. May I join you please or is there another starters thread?

it’s my first time using WLI and chose Mounjaro as it seems the safest one for me due to pre existing health problems. I have major surgery coming up in a few months so want to be as healthy as possible to improve the outcome.

Hello
Welcome. I'm on week 3 and have found this group to be a great source of advice and support.

LollyWillow · 23/02/2025 12:15

Hi @Supergirl1958, I'm on day 5 of week 1. I also had night sweats, bad for the first two nights, but these seem to have settled down down and Friday night and last night were fine although I'm still not sleeping as well as I normally do. I'm hoping that this settles down over time although I'm expecting the night sweats to be back after dose 2 (I've only recently stopped having them post menopause so I feel like - yeah, this is my life now...)
And yes! Peeing a lot! It feels like out of all proportion to the amount of liquid going in! I've stopped drinking water after 9pm and that seems to help for sleeping.

hopeMJ · 23/02/2025 12:28

Can I ask is the suppression super obvious or subtle? I only took first injection last night and wondering if I'm feeling something slight or if it is just in my head?

@Supergirl1958 - I had a sort of restless night - again wondering if in my head as opposed to a direct impact of jab.

billysboy · 23/02/2025 12:31

Just about to order my next round of mountjaro
do o stick with same dose or go up a notch ?

Concavedreaming · 23/02/2025 12:46

@billysboy go up to 5, it is the sameish price and you can still take 2.5 if you want or 3.75 - it depends on your suppression/goals/feeling > I ordered 5 but wont jump up to that just yet.

ashtyler · 23/02/2025 12:58

had my first dose yesterday and had a restless night. Hot flashes worse than usual (I’m in chemical menopause pending surgery). Not weeing more than usual but I do drink about 3-4l per day anyway.

i did really struggle with horrible indigestion in my back, burning pain between my shoulder blades and awful bloating. Think I might have to have my last meal earlier than usual so I can settle easier in the evening. Anyone else found the same?

well done on all your progress everyone! Some really encouraging experiences here

Yes, I had that burning /upper back indigestion on Thursday. I thought I’d pulled my traps muscles at the gym, but that wasn’t the case. It was an odd feeling, very uncomfortable.

It got better on Friday and had disappeared by Saturday (yesterday).

I am actually pleased that it wasn’t a muscle strain because I like lifting weights and the impact it has on my body shape.

stargazer02 · 23/02/2025 13:22

@hopeMJ mine is very subtle (just took second jab last night). I still think about snacks but it's a fleeting thought and not the fiending for snacks I used to feel. Had a few snackcidents in early days when it was sitting in front of me, but it'll take a while to overcome the pattern of mindless eating I used to have. There's still a strong element of willpower required for me at the moment, so I'm making sure I'm my future friend. I'm prepping lots of roasted veg etc in advance so when I feel hungry I can reheat a rainbow of lovely veg, plus some protein, in about the same time as it would take me to make a ham sandwich (or two like id normally have had). It's more filling, more nutritious and less calories, and best of all, it tastes better.
I've prepped quinoa so I can add a wee bit of milk, apple and cinnamon and stick that in microwave for breakfast rather than grab a slice of toast.
I have had to resort to protein drinks to hit my quota but I hope to phase those out. The whole family eats the same food as me (varying potion sizes) and so I'm working with some intolerances too, and I don't want to overwhelm myself and give up. Needs to be a long term, sustainable plan.

Day I applied 13/02 238 lbs
SW 15/02 235.5 (- 2.5 lb without jab)
CW 22/02 229 (-6.5 week 1 of jab, total 9lbs)

No side effects apart from lots of burps after some broccoli! Maybe a little tired but also time of the month and I often feel more tired then..

I used to faint when getting blood drawn and quite proud of myself for being able to inject this.

It's awful isn't it - and no doubt it will very quickly flip to being appalling about people who don't take weight loss injections.

I took my first one yesterday morning and I don't know whether it's a placebo effect or real but while I'm hungry for food at mealtimes so far I haven't thought about sugary or fatty food really. Normally all I can think about is food but today I feel like I've just eaten lunch and dinner is going to come around really quickly and will I be able to eat it all.

Yesterday I went out to the library and normally on the way home I would be buying snacks and fizzy drinks and stashing some in my bag just in case but between yesterday and today I just haven't wanted to. It's a revelation so I very much hope it's real.

Shefliesonherownwings · 23/02/2025 13:29

Hello, may I join you? My first dose has just been dispatched by Medexpress so it should be here this week and I’m planning on starting on Friday as it’s my non working day. Feeling a bit nervous but I need something to kick start my weight loss as I just can’t seem to do it on my own.

Supergirl1958 · 23/02/2025 13:48

@LollyWillow relieved to hear some of my symptoms are common then!

@hopeMJ tonight maybe tricky back at work tomorrow after a week off

ChillyMint · 23/02/2025 14:14

The end of week 3. Progress so far:
Week 1 -5.5lbs
Week 2 -2lbs
Week 3 -4lbs.
Total -11.5 lbs

Hoping for the stone this week. Keep going everyone! 😊

Ive just realised ive only eaten 650 calories today- mixture of being busy and no appetite. Myfitnesspal has just told me off when completing my food diary. A one off day like this is fine?? Tomorrow will be three meals and the full calories!

should we be taking any supplements whilst on this? I do take collagen powder but wondering about multivitamins too??

Def recommend a multivitamin- I am taking the well woman ones, there are 3 tablets and they cover 100% of all other than magnesium and calcium. Good luck.

beepbeep83 · 23/02/2025 14:19

Zibb · 22/02/2025 19:25

2nd dose done! Hoping to feel the effects this week.

SW: 115.8kg
CW:109.1kg

I either need new scales or I was holding on to so much water weight because a 6kg loss just isn't right. Fitbit/MFP data says I've had a 7000cal deficit this week, so that should be about a 0.9kg loss.

I'm fully expecting to see a gain over this next week.

What scales is everyone else using?

I’m using the Withings scales, find it very accurate. Make sure it’s on a flat surface and try not to move locations x

Poppins17 · 23/02/2025 16:06

Hi all,

Happy Sunday.

A NSV for me today - went for a family Sunday lunch - used my nutracheck app and instead of having a Sunday dinner, I saved some calories and had a salad and chicken kebab.

The salad was so delicious, tasted really fresh. I love my Sunday dinners, but wanted to have some calories for my tea tonight so made the right decision and enjoyed my meal out.

Im going to the cinema tomorrow and for a McDonalds. Calories for the day already planned and hopefully I won’t have any adverse reactions. I’m week 2 day 4 and so far apart from sometimes feeling cold I’ve had zero side effects on 2.5. Long may it continue!

Let’s hope we all have a great week ahead!

Fairyflaps · 23/02/2025 16:31

Joining you. First dose of monjauro was Saturday. No noticeable effects yet either good or bad. I'm already on the maximum dosage of metformin and I'm hoping that this can get my blood sugar levels down into normal range.

Found a link to this plotter whilst lurking on another thread.

You can change the graph to see what happens if you stay on 2.5 to see how long it takes to build up in our systems, even with the 5 day half life.

Mj not great for my brain so I'm going to stay on the lowest possible dose.
