Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

@RememberDecember yes!!! totally get what your saying, I also felt initially like I was cheating, also similar to you I don't have a huge amount to lose (still enough to have a high bmi though)
I am treating it as a reset, I'm using it to retrain my brain on healthy eating. It's not only making me want to eat healthier food (I really don't fancy the usual beige crap I ate) but also I am off the booze. I just don't fancy it. I couldn't have done that on willpower alone so I'm seeing it as a helping hand for an overhaul and reset.

I did my research on the companies available- I did think some looked more shoddy than others but after reading lots of reviews and other bits and bobs I'm happy with my choice. I also like the fact that they rejected my first photo and I had to send another because at least it seems like they are not just doling it out to anyone.

I’m day 6 of week 1 now. Appetite is coming back a little I think so hopefully tomorrow’s jab will help. Realise now just how much I thought about food before, and why is it has been so difficult to try and lose weight on willpower alone.

And wine. Would get to 6pm and I’d be dreaming of a glass!

Is anyone else feeling less bloated?

I'm exactly the same stage as you. Jab day tomorrow.
The lack of interest in wine is making me so happy. I am so much more productive.

Also less bloated too Smile

I am definitely below 30 bmi but do have high cholesterol, although last test I had done at gp was in 2021 so not exactly recent. Do they ask for recent proof, those who have been able to get it with bmi 25-27 with an additional health concern such as high cholesterol?

@Anastacia44
My order from last night has just been approved by Zava. Has yours?

@Housewife2010 Yes I've just checked and it's been approved 😊. Really hope this works, I've been in a calorie deficit and have lost 3 stone but recently the food noise is constant I am hoping this can help with that and get me back on track,I've not stopped eating since Christmas and it's getting me down xx

MJSpideySenses · 03/02/2025 21:36

How often are people weighing themselves? I do it far too often and want to know what is a more normal amount!

First day at work since injecting was fine. I did forget some of my lunch though so only had fruit and soup until dinner.

Feeling a bit of hunger and the odd bit of nausea but nothing much.

Mounjaroday · 03/02/2025 22:23

The whole ‘cheating’ thing is so interesting. I totally dismissed WL injections as cheating until I listened to a podcast which absolutely changed my outlook.

The general gist of the podcast focussed on gluttony, sin, atonement and punishment. It totally explained to me why I was calling WL injections cheating and now I don’t feel guilty at all.

Anyway, supermarkets, food giants and advertisers have been riding roughshod over the population for years, I’m absolutely thrilled to be getting some control back in my life.

Also, this week has already positively
impacted my children’s diets. Has anyone else experienced this?

@Mounjaroday I completely agree. The “diet” industry has had plenty of us in their thrall for years. The biggest benefit for me - even more than the weight loss if it happens - is losing the food noise. That would be definitely worth the effort and money.

I am DEFINITELY seeing a reduction in bloat! Tbh it's the bloated stomach that gave me a final push to try this - always been overweight to varying degrees but carried it on my bum and thighs with a slim torso. Last couple of years it's all gone to my waist and stomach! From a pear shape to a definite apple 😬

After just 3 days on mj, I can see the difference! I now look maybe 4/5 months pregnant as opposed to '9 months and ready to pop' 🤣. If I got my flat(ish) stomach back through this I'd be ecstatic!

Feb2025start · 04/02/2025 06:42

@MJSpideySenses I'm going to try to keep the weighing to once or maybe twice a week. It helps that I don't have scales at home (I'd probably be on them multiple times a day if I did!) - I use the fancy ones at the gym which also measure body fat, muscle mass etc. Also has the added 'bonus'(?!) that I HAVE to go to the gym at least once a week 😅

Justtryingthis · 04/02/2025 09:34

First weigh in…after 24 hours. 2.7lb off!!! That would normally take me a week to lose. I know it’s only water but it’s very motivational! 😊

Oooh I love this! I find stuff like that motivational too - exciting to do my first jab tomorrow!

Does it matter what time of day you do it? Morning/evening/before food/after? Does it make any difference?

Seriouslyisitbedtimeyet · 04/02/2025 09:46

Hi all, just literally taken my first dose. It’s been on my mind for a few weeks but have been worried about the potential side effects. Finally took the plunge. Weight is 70kg and aiming to loose 10kg initially. Fingers crossed!

I don’t think it does, some people suggest injecting at night to sleep through any immediate side effects, but I did it in the morning on my day off just in case. Felt a bit headachy and tired. Oh and very thirsty! But feel fine today

RowNine · 04/02/2025 12:31

@AnnaQuayInTheUk oh god this is my worry! Did your tummy feel off before or did it come completely out of the blue?

Just over 24 hours since my first injection and I can't say I feel any different. Still hungry as before. Anyone else experienced this?

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 04/02/2025 13:15

I'd had a bit of an upset tummy the day before, ie 24 hours after the first jab, but nothing major. The next day I woke up and felt fine. I was in an online work meeting late morning and suddenly it came out of the blue. Basically liquid diarrhoea and I didn't make it to the bathroom. It was truly grim. Thank God I wasn't at a f2f meeting.

It's all been ok since then, absolutely no issues, but when I go up to 5mg I will make sure I am at home for the first 3 days

Burnserns · 04/02/2025 13:32

Does anyone know when you should order your next pen (if paying privately?). Some sources say the day you take your 4th injection from the existing pen.

beepbeep83 · 04/02/2025 14:28

Hi everyone, starting weight 223lb, goal weight 154lb. Mountjaro 2.5 being delivered today, plan to start tomorrow morning. Hoping it's a miracle worker- not nervous about the injections but nervous that i'll be the exception and it wont work for me. Good luck everyone!

I tend to order the day I've done my third injection as that gives you plenty of leeway in case of any queries or issues.

Mertyl · 04/02/2025 15:44

@IWillFitIntoThoseClothesAgain I use the slimfast powder currently as I had some in the cupboard to use up. It's been fine but I'm going to replace with a whey once the tub has been used up as that has more protein in it and states it's good for lean muscle growth.

sc0ttishlass · 04/02/2025 16:27

My delivery has just arrived. With second nature I got blue tooth scales and a recipe book. I'll look at properly tonight and also probably do tonight as I can wfh tomorrow. I'm so nervous! I watched video on how to inject it and will watch again when I'm doing it later!

Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes · 04/02/2025 16:36

I'd like to join the thread too please
SW 13 st 7lbs / 86kg
GW 10st 7lbs / 66kg

Would like to lose more ideally but we'll see :-)

First jab will be Thursday this week

Really hoping MJ will give me the motivation to stop stuffing my face, stop drinking wine and do some exercise!!!

Housewife2010 · 04/02/2025 16:44

My first pen is arriving tomorrow! Can anyone recommend a good weight loss app? I tend to just write my weight in my notes app, but I'd like a proper one which calculates BMI too. Thank you.

I did the jab 20 hours ago and have felt same levels of hunger as normal today. Am guessing it may just take time or perhaps I'll be one of those who 2.5 really is just a loading dose for!

MJSpideySenses · 04/02/2025 17:07

@Feb2025start Thanks, I do it multiple times a day so need to stop! Will stick to daily then try to reduce further. It feels too much, a bit obsessive. I love that you use it for motivation to get to the gym. I need to sign back up to the gym, youngest DS wants me to go with him. Last time I had a membership, I only used it for swimming. His gym doesn't have a pool though.
