Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

Thanks for the potassium tips guys, I have been taking a multivitamin (I have one prescribed anyway for a separate condition) and stupidly assumed that would cover pretty much everything but looking at the actual contents there's no potassium (or magnesium which is also recommended) so I'll order those separately!

Also thinking of getting back into yoga (both for the cramps and general flexibility/toning!) so thanks for mentioning that upthread @MJSpideySenses - reminded me how much I used to love it!

Urgh a rubbish night's sleep here, I keep getting cramp really badly in my calves (so painful!!). Sounds like it's from dehydration but I'm drinking sooo much water/peppermint tea/squash etc! Looking online and it's recommended to cut out all caffeine 😭 my one morning coffee is pretty much the only 'treat' I have left! Anyone else had leg cramps on MJ (or generally)? What helped you if so?

I had it when pregnant….maybe try tonic water which has quinine in which is meant to help x

Ive been using magnesium tablets at night, good for leg cramps, restless legs and a slight laxative effect too i believe!

First official weigh in
SW - 15 st 8.6
CW - 15 st 4.4
GW - 11 st
So 4 lbs in first week, im happy with that as a start 😊 I think i also lost a couple of lbs in the week before starting( after taking the fat photos 🤣) but new scales so i wont count that!

MaddyM8 · 14/02/2025 09:02

Hope you're all doing OK.

Took first dose yesterday, tried to eat tea which were chicken wraps and felt like I was forcing them down and I still feel uncomfortably full this morning and quite a nasty bit of nausea so just taking it easy really! Hoping it will pass 🙏

Febnewbie · 14/02/2025 09:09

Cramps are the worst! Had them a lot in pregnancy

Day 3 here and I did a sneaky weigh in - nothing off but it is just day 3..

I do feel different though - less puffy, lighter somehow, have a bit more get up and go? I also have no interest in coffee or alcohol. Considered wine out of habit last night but just didn't really want it. Left some of my dinner too.

mysparkleismissing · 14/02/2025 09:13

Morning All

Just been for my second 7am swim - half an hour of laps I'm good with that and I've enquired about becoming a member (up until a year ago I was at the gym 4/5 times a week but then got plantar fasciitis and waiting a hospital consultant in July to see what's going on I'm off high impact/weight bearing)

2nd jab today so will do that tonight, mornings when I work a Friday aren't an option as I don't wanna rush and did evening last week

I love this thread and how supportive and helpful everyone is - thank you

Just wish I was better and replying and keeping up with it all - find it harder with no profile pics!

Salty foods cause my leg cramps - pre MJ Chinese food was the worst

Hangryfastjo · 14/02/2025 10:23

Took my first jab yesterday at 6pm. Sat in the office today and feeling cold. How hard is it to drink water when you're feeling cold 😂😂😂😂

Can you drink hot water with lemon or squash added? Herbal tea, bovril, broth, cuppa soup?

Poppins17 · 14/02/2025 10:40

It’s been 24 hours since my very first jab.

I slept so well last night - didn’t even wake up for the toilet in the night.

I woke up not feeling hungry, but have had some breakfast and think I feel full. It’s not a feeling I’m used to! Ha ha.

Have planned all my food out for the day on my nutracheck app and excited to see how I feel as the day progresses.

Have a lovely Valentine’s Day all!

Febnewbie · 14/02/2025 10:43

I am in the office today - on my own in my section as Friday. There are two tubs of M&S sweet treats on the counter. I haven't even looked at what type.

This is really huge for me!

OldChairMan · 14/02/2025 10:45

Supplementing with electrolytes is often recommended, @Feb2025start. I'm using LMNT ones, they're ridiculously expensive but taste nice so help the water intake.

hennybeans · 14/02/2025 11:02

I thought I'd join the thread as I've just taken my first dose. Happy Valentine's Day to me!

SW 124.5
GW 78 ( that will just take me under 25 bmi)

Interim Target:99kg (This is the lowest I've been as an adult. I would be thrilled if I could hit 99kg before our August holiday).

A pp said they thought everyone overweight would be taking mounjaro in 5 years and it reminded me how when dh and I met via online dating in 2003 it was fairly taboo. Of course now everyone single uses dating apps. I guess I'm just ahead of the curve.

itcouldalwaysgetworse · 14/02/2025 11:04

Morning all,

Thought i would do a quick update, it has been two full weeks now and am due my 3rd Jab tonight.
So far going ok, no real side effects. Food noise is massively reduced, but feel hungry when i start to eat, but am not overstuffing which is a miracle in itself.

Did my weigh in - only did this after two weeks as figured i would lose a lot first week due to water ( don't think i went over a hour without needing to pee) then would have a much smaller loss on the 2nd week and did not want to get disheartened - So -

247.8 Start Weight
232.6 Current weight after two weeks.

Now trying to decide if i stick with the 2.5 or move up. I have a lot to loose so don't want to go through the strengths to quickly

KittyPup · 14/02/2025 11:11

I’d like to jump on the thread as I would also like to start. There seem to be so many places to buy from. Please can I ask where is the cheapest at the minute from those who have researched recently? Tia

Mine was from Med Express - If you search on here there is a thread that has all of our referral codes on there so you can get a discount. I paid £116.44 including delivery for the 2.5mg pen

Hope this helps

SilenceInside · 14/02/2025 11:30

@KittyPup there's a price comparison website:

https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/

All the pharmacies listed there are registered with the GPhC.

Current cheapest for the starting dose (2.5mg) is from Farmeci at £88.50 with free delivery, using the discount code quoted in the Discounts column of the table.

The prices and discounts available do change so it's worth checking right before you order.

Hersetta427 · 14/02/2025 11:47

Just taken my second dose. Weighed in this morning to a 4lb loss. Teeny bit disappointed as kept to under 1100 calories per day with 90-95g of protein, not a single biscuit, chocolate or even alcohol - gone right off it all. Had a hungry day on Wednesday (my stomach even growled twice) but much better yesterday so supression/food noise still good. I bought a walking pad and have being using that with small hand weights so hopping to keep that rate up at least.

KittyPup · 14/02/2025 11:50

Thank you for replying. Does med express then go to £149 monthly after the first month? I’m finding the websites quite tricky to find actual pricing after the first month. Are you able to switch providers with ease or when you start with one do you have to stay with them? Thanks

Littlebitpsycho · 14/02/2025 11:56

Second jab was Wednesday but I'm struggling - far less suppression this time, last week it was really easy to ignore food!

Anyone else had this problem?

Enwi · 14/02/2025 12:31

Can I join please?? I’ve loved following all of you the past few weeks.

I’ve just picked up my first 2.5mg prescription. Will weigh properly in the morning, but starting weight is around 105kg. My youngest has just turned 3 and I’m so excited for this year to be about ME after 3 back to back pregnancies.

It’s my first day of my cycle which generally makes me feel a bit shit anyway, so I figured best to get it out of the way. I plan to do my first injection this evening before bed.

SilenceInside · 14/02/2025 12:38

@KittyPup yes the MedExpress price goes up to 149.99 unless you can get someone to use your referral code to sign up as a new customer, then you get £40 credit for any future order.

Changing supplier is straightforward. You just fill out their online form, and say you're already taking Mounjaro and say what dose. You may need to include evidence of the prescription such as a photo of the medication box showing the named prescription label.

ScottyDOESknow · 14/02/2025 13:06

I'm almost at the end of week 2, this is the first time I've felt hunger creeping in but given I'm due to jab in the morning I'm still pleased with the level of suppression.

Hoping will power will get me through tonight and I can keep swerving the wine!

Will weigh in tommorow - I've been tracking between 1100-1400 calories per day aiming for 140g of protein and I've done some form of weights/resistance training everyday so hoping to see the number shift 🤞

I feel less fluffy which is also a positive.

Hope everyone's had a great week and is feeling good going into the weekend.

Feb2025start · 14/02/2025 13:07

@KittyPup yes, it goes up (as @SilenceInside says they do then offer a further discount if you refer someone, but there are soooo many people trying to get people to use their referral codes it looks like you'd have to be quite lucky to ever have your used!).

Most of the pharmacies tend to do introductory offers for the first dose ordered from them and then increase significantly - the prices quoted on the spreadsheet are the amounts you'd pay taking all possible discounts. So if there's an introductory discount of (say) 20% off, the spreadsheet shows that discount applied to every dose as if they were all your first order. Obviously if you did want to stay with a given pharmacy you'd only get the discount once. Does that make sense??

I was with Oushk for my first pen as it had a high discount for first orders (and was also highly rated for responsiveness and the level of care, which was important to me for the first dose!) but have switched to Pillsorted for my second pen, again with an introductory offer. It's generally easy enough to switch, you just need to resubmit your information/photos and show a copy of your prescription from the original pharmacy. But for my third pen I'm going to go with a pharmacy that has consistently low prices, regardless of offers etc, and hopefully stick with it - I haven't decided which one yet but Medicine Market Place looks the cheapest long term at the moment!

Sorry, that was an essay! But I found it all a bit confusing too initially. Let me know if anything doesn't make sense!
