Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

No one bats an eyelid about prescribing until you get under 25 BMI. Then some get twitchy. There is a maintenance thread for those of us now at healthy BMIs. This is their current list of suppliers who support maintenance with a link to their maintenance statements or policies on their websites.

If you aren't with one of these now that's ok - policies change and your supplier might develop a maintenance plan - but you should probably think about switching as you get close to 25. Switching is easy - you just provide proof of a previous recent order of 10mg say and they let you order 10mg or 12.5mg.

Hello, I recieve my first pen on Monday. Starting weight 17st 7lb 😢

My starting weight will be whatever I am tomorrow (I’m jabbing Saturday am) I’m over 18 stone

Ahh exciting! With you on this journey.

OntheTrainX · 13/02/2025 19:46

Day 2. Am so pleased with the appetite suppression! Actually looking forward to next Wednesday’s jab now! Having been a bit nervous about the first one yesterday.

I have been cold but I don’t really care tbh. My priority is getting healthy. Thankfully I’ve had no headaches or gastro issues yet.

This thread has been a godsend. 🙏

Bluehels · 13/02/2025 19:57

Has anyone found better suppression when jabbing the stomach rather than thighs? It’s injection day tomorrow and I was thinking of changing things up.

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 13/02/2025 19:59

Good luck to all the new starters 🙌🏻

I am week 3 day 3, nothing exciting to report.
No side effects other than being really cold. I have actually had to sleep in a jumper the past couple of nights.

Feeling smug as it's a Thursday and I would normally be tucking into wine. I have zero interest. It's nothing short of a miracle.

Still good food suppression. I cannot believe I haven't eaten sweets, crisps or any rubbish whatsoever since I started and it has been easy!

keeponplodding7 · 13/02/2025 20:08

Can I ask a stupid question! Does the suppression get stronger with every 2.5mg dose because it’s building up? I’m on day 2 and it’s there but I’m still eating normal quantities

I’m very new to this and I’m not scientifically trained but I’ve read (via robust sources) that stomach jabs are a bit better for suppression but slightly more likely to cause gastro problems.

I jab in my thigh and I've had good suppression so far . I'm worried to try it on my stomach now in case I get a bad tummy because I've been ok so far . Only a sicky feeling a day after the jab and some headaches .

See i did thigh for my first jab last week and tempted to stick to thigh tomorrow as haven't have any side effects to note. I'm cold but its bloody baltic!

Anyone else not had a poo. (sorry overshare) I went Monday - I don't have any pain or tummy ache - I don't feel the need to go - I'm not eating a huge amount - around 800-1000 calories a day

I can't quite hit my protien or fibre but I'm close.

Hangryfastjo · 13/02/2025 21:00

I've done my first jab at 6pm tonight. I can't believe how painless it was. Now I'm just waiting to see if I have any side effects 😬😂. I did it in my stomach.

SW 14st half lb
GW 11St (would be amazing)

Ah same here! No drinkies for me tonight, either!
That is 4 days in a row no booze.

Exactly the same experience with snacks. Just haven’t had any at all since starting this.

Double blankets tonight as I am freezing!

Sounds like my experience is a bit similar to yours so far (week 3 day 2).

New starter here - signed up this morning and approved within an hour (after weeks of dithering!) Plan to jab the same day the pen arrives so just posting so I can find the thread again easily.

SW 17 stone exactly
GW 12 stone or there abouts.

My healthy BMI is around 10 stone but I looked ill last time I was under 11. I'm going to see how I feel when I get to 12.

Off to read through the thread and absorb all your hard earned knowledge and tips!

Week 2 day 2. I'm so hungry! Lost a little under 3 pounds first week which was disappointing I thought. I am following the weightwatchers plan for people on WLI but I'm sure this is making me think about food more! Had some chocolate tonight, I just had to. Still within points but I am hoping the next gew doses help to stop the cravings.
Felt a bit sick yesterday morning but didn't last long. Been very cold. No other side effects so far.

I'm curious about how ww have tweaked for wli - their website wasn't helpful explaining anything

I lost 6stone on ww getting to goal in 2019 so have a fair understanding of the programme

BlunderMifflin · 13/02/2025 22:49

Hello, I haven't RTFT sorry, I'm just checking in because I've just taken my first dose tonight. I did it in my thigh, I hope I did it right, I couldn't feel anything!

Starting weight 13st 10
Goal weight 9st

OvertiredandConfused · 13/02/2025 22:55

Haven’t managed to catch up on the thread properly. Feeling a little bit sorry for myself. Had my second dose on Sunday morning and no weight loss yet. On top of that, I’ve got shingles - on my face, around my eye and in my hair.

Really hoping MJ does its thing in the last couple of days this. I’ve been very good with what I’ve been eating and have drunk at least 2 litres of water every day despite feeling very down. I need some good news!

To be honest it's not different. When you open the app the focus is on protein, water, fruit and veg etc rather than points so that's the main difference visually (you can swipe to see the points screen).
I don't have time to weigh everything so like the idea of zero foods and only having to weigh some foods. The list of zero foods has increased too so I will find it easier to stick to. I have always had success on WW but can't stick to it because I get too hungry

Taylortaylor · 14/02/2025 00:06

Hi All!
I am looking to join after starting this evening. Injected into tummy and feel a little woozy to be honest but I’m hoping that will pass.
starting weight is 92.8kg
goal weight is 70kg.
It has been 15 years since I’ve been close to 70kg and I long to stop the yo-yo dieting. My metabolism and I’d say my gut health are so bad from the constant starvation/ binge eating cycles I have gone through.
I live in Ireland so I’ve paid an eye watering amount for munjaro but I feel so lucky to get it after wanting to start for so long.

looking forward to catching up on thread and seeing everyone’s progress

MJSpideySenses · 14/02/2025 06:19

Second weigh in - I've lost 1.8lb.

SW: 15st0.8
CW: 14st7.4
Total loss: 7.4lbs

I knew this week would be small but at least it's a loss.

@OvertiredandConfused I hope you feel better soon.

Last day of the half term - I'm so ready for a week off. I'm also rather achy from yoga!

Feb2025start · 14/02/2025 06:35

Urgh a rubbish night's sleep here, I keep getting cramp really badly in my calves (so painful!!). Sounds like it's from dehydration but I'm drinking sooo much water/peppermint tea/squash etc! Looking online and it's recommended to cut out all caffeine 😭 my one morning coffee is pretty much the only 'treat' I have left! Anyone else had leg cramps on MJ (or generally)? What helped you if so?

MJSpideySenses · 14/02/2025 06:43

Are you getting enough potassium in your diet? I'm sure thats what I was told caused leg cramps.

I have started taking a multivitamin since beginning MJ as I know I am unlikely to eat everything I need.

Bluehels · 14/02/2025 07:10

Weigh in day
SW 104kg
CW 100.9kg
GW 70kg

Considering I’ve only had minimal suppression I am happy with that.
Ive decided to inject my stomach today and see if it gives me better suppression. Im off next week so if the side effects are bad at least I'm at home.

AmythestBangle · 14/02/2025 07:25

Fot the calf cramps, you can either take potassium tablets or, more simply, eat a banana before bed. This really works.
