WEGOVY January starters thread...

Hi!

Any interest in a Wegovy only thread? There are lots of threads but must of the posters seem to be on Mounjaro.

Be nice to have a smaller group of us who are on Wegovy so that the doses are more relevant?😊

@Catherine278 I have the 1.00 pen and I am using it in 0.25 doses. As you turn the end of the pen the dashes that pass through the window have the 0.25 dosage marked by a slightly shorter dash.
If you miss it by turning the end of the pen too far you can turn it back again.

tioabar that is so helpful! I think you have just saved me a lot of money because I am definitely sticking with 0.25 mg. I feel fine on it and would be worried if I started eating any less. That might change, but for now, that's really reassuring - thank you!

I took my first dose yesterday and honestly not felt great today! I’ve been run down for weeks so either that combined with the drug is making me feel poorly or it’s just a coincidence.
Also felt appetite suppressant so my meals have been smaller. Feels very odd having my stomach growled but not feeling hungry!

Took my first dose an hour ago. Not feeling anything yet....intrigued to see how this journey goes! Loving the thread, so helpful to read everyone's posts and experiences

I failed again this morning. It's still in the fridge! Definitely tomorrow morning. Well done to everyone who's started!

Irony is I have already done 6 months, though on Ozempic, last year.

Official line is pens (once you start using them) can be used for 6 weeks. Unofficially I have seen people say that they have asked pharmacists/GPs who have advised as long as the liquid is clear, it's safe to use. But thats hearsay over the internet, not my personal advice received from a professional!

Forgot to post progress update...week 3 complete and just started week 4, 11 lbs down. Good luck to those just starting out. I lost 3 lbs this week, compared to a measly 1 the previous week. I have eaten roughly the same but joined the gym a week ago and went 3 times this week (burning approximately 400 cals per session) so I think that made the difference.

That's great progress @PinkCosYouAreSoVery ! You must be pleased. I'm just going into week 4. Only 4 pounds down. Need to pull it out of the bag this week

Yes I think they look the same too. It's easy to think nothing has happened because I don't feel a thing when I inject. I think you must have given yourself dose number 3!

48 hours after 1st dose.... bit of nausea and tiredness but appetite has massively reduced! Nearly forgot to eat dinner last night which is unheard of, no craving for sweet things. Feels like a positive start!

NSV for me today - I was able to wear my work trousers that are size smaller than the ones I've been wearing for the past six months! Hurrah! What a difference half a stone can make when 90% of it sits on your belly.

Massive win! I have also been feeling my trousers are a bit loose today. Kind of a shame because I only recently bought them and I really like them 😅

on my 4th jab on Monday just ordered my new pen of 0.5.... no side effects yet and lost about 9lb but haven't weighed myself in over a week so could be more

Took my first jab yesterday night. Needlephobia kicked in and I had to play music to calm my nerves enough to take it.

I tend to binge eat, not quite often enough to meet the formal criteria for binge eating disorder, so I'm hoping that semaglutide will stop the food noise and cravings that trigger a binge.

Most of my weight is on my tummy, I look like I should be going to the maternity ward.

Aaand the constipation has showed up.

I live in Spain but they must do similar in the UK (presuming that's where you are). I have been drinking this tea called "ultralax" and it aids digestion and should sort the problem if you can find an equivalent. It's all natural so I just drink it every other day. Takes about 6hrs max to take effect. Good luck!

Yesterday was the end of my first two weeks and I took my third dose. I lost 4lbs the first week and 2lbs the second week, making a total of 8lbs in the whole month (two weeks of cutting back before Wegovy). I'm delighted with that. I've put on 20lbs since April 2024 so to have 8lbs of it gone in one month is remarkable, when all of my other efforts just managed to slow the gain and occasionally hold it still.

My main side effect is burping, so much so that my mantra is 'if you're not burping, it's not working!' I have also had some vivid dreams and I'm more tired than usual, but I think my body is busy and I'll rest if that's what it needs. The reduction in my sugar intake is really significant, I know it's much less than before and I'm not bothered about it. Looking forward to week 3!
