Hi!

Any interest in a Wegovy only thread? There are lots of threads but must of the posters seem to be on Mounjaro.

Be nice to have a smaller group of us who are on Wegovy so that the doses are more relevant?😊

My third jab will be this evening.
I haven't lost much weight this week but the relentless compulsion to eat cakes, biscuits and sweets is still absent.
I'll take that as a success for the time being.

katem98 · 23/01/2025 19:22

How's everyone doing?

Just checking in as it's day 12 for me. I was really interested in what you wrote thornbury because this is definitely my experience too. I'm eating so much less and as a result am noticing looser clothing (I try not to weigh). I also feel lighter, move more easily and just feel better overall. I'm sort of getting used to this food noise being turned off. It really feels like a miracle and something I never thought would or could happen! Even if weight loss is low some weeks - half a pound or a pound - that's still between 2 and 4 stone a year. I think I'm going to adjust my time preference. I've spent my whole life being overweight and impatient to get slim. I'm just going to let it die down.

One other thing is that I am still on the lowest dose of 0.25mg. If this continues I think I might stay at this dose. It seems to be working and I don't have symptoms. If it works at this lower dose and cheaper rate, I might stick with it. What do other people think? It will be interesting when we get to the 4week mark and double the dose! Thanks for this group - it is so supportive and so good to share such similar experiences!

TeaAndTapas · 24/01/2025 12:39

It's going ok for me. First day of no headaches so I managed to get out for a 5k walk with my husband which was nice. Appetite is definitely reducing, even if I feel hungry I'm getting full far quicker.

Like a previous poster I am definitely feeling lighter even though I know after 5 days it's going to be very minimal. Let's see how the weekend goes!

TeaAndTapas · 24/01/2025 12:39

Out of interest how often is everyone weighing themselves?

I've also been wondering this re the 0.25mg as getting on ok. Was considering either staying at this dose or even stopping for a while and seeing if I manage in just a deficit now that I feel I'm getting on ok... hm!

@TeaAndTapas I'm weighing around twice a week just to keep on top of it.

Catherine278 · 24/01/2025 12:52

I wonder. I think on balance I shall stay on dose 0.25mg rather than drop it all together because I know myself too well! I've been 2 weeks into a diets thousands of times and I want this to stick psychologically as well as physically. I think the lowering of the food noise is down to wegovy. It's been such a peaceful couple of weeks - I don't want the noise to start up again! I'll be so interested to read about the decisions everyone is making - so good we are all in the same boat.

katem98 · 24/01/2025 13:08

@Catherine278 Good point! I'm still very undecided. I think my hair is getting thinner and I've worked so hard to get that healthy it's just typical isn't it 😬

Day 1 of second injection for me. 4 pounds lost. I still am thinking about food a lot which is annoying! I’m definitely still having food noise, and although I’m definitely eating less, I’m still thinking of food a lot and wanting to eat!

Catherine278 · 24/01/2025 15:49

Hi Newyearnewmewoooop. Well done on that weight loss but and sorry the food noise is still high. Maybe with the higher dose it will start to shift for you. We are all different aren't we? When you eat, what do you eat by the way?

Onthewegovy · 24/01/2025 16:16

Hello, just checking in as I also started wegovy this month. Two weeks in on 0.25 and 4 pounds down. Still feeling hungry quite often but feeling full quicker. Had some nausea and headaches but not too bad. Interested to see what happens when dose goes up...

Catherine278 · 24/01/2025 19:24

Welcome to the group Onthewegovy. So glad you are off to a good start. We're all in the same boat and it's great to compare experiences. Well done for making a start!

thornbury · 25/01/2025 06:54

End of week 1 for me and I am 4.6lbs down, which is great! I haven't felt like it wore off towards the end of the week, it was really consistent. I had my book club last night so ate more than usual, but really didn't have much of an appetite and didn't pick at the crisps etc on the table before we ate. Side effects have been minimal, just more burping than usual, so roll on week 2! I injected into my other thigh, I guess I should use my tummy next time.

Onthewegovy · 25/01/2025 08:18

Back up 2 pounds this morning, which is disheartening. I seem to be feeling hungrier in week three than I did in week 1!

Rapunzel91 · 25/01/2025 11:59

Joining please! Just took my first dose.

Excited and a bit nervous about side effects. Not something I can use long term due to cost so really hope I can implement cleaner eating and lose my sweet tooth.

Onthewegovy · 25/01/2025 12:41

Has anyone noticed a difference based on injection site?

katem98 · 25/01/2025 15:13

@Onthewegovy I've always gone through the abdomen.

katem98 · 25/01/2025 15:14

I'm a day away from injection 4 today and the last couple of days the fatigue has been huge! Just woke from a nap and could quite easily sleep again.

OP posts:
tioabar · 25/01/2025 15:19

@Onthewegovy I inject in my stomach area, I've alternated sides so far but have never tried injecting anywhere else. Be interesting to see if anyone notices any difference injecting in different places.
@Rapunzel91 This is the only thing that has ever made a difference to my sweet tooth, I am hoping that once I reach target I'll be able to keep it under control.

Catherine278 · 25/01/2025 15:24

SOrry about the disappointment @Onthewegovy . Weight loss can be erratic - perseverance is the hardest part. Hang on in! Yes @Rapunzel91. It's affected my sweet tooth too! I was wondering what everyone's starting weight is? That can affect weight loss. I was around 12st 7lb

Mounajarobarro · 25/01/2025 17:02

Hi. can I join?

Took my first dose on Thursday - starting weight 23st 10 and was 23st 8 this morning (yay). Obviously have a long way to go...

No side effects so far and the lack of food noise is noticeable.

craigth162 · 25/01/2025 18:10

I'm so tempted to start this....would you all recommend? And why did u choose this over mounjaro? I'm torn between the two. I'm 5ft 4 and 12 st 8.

katem98 · 25/01/2025 18:11

@craigth162 I work in a surgery and the Pharmacists/ GPs recommended this one more so due to more research and approval for weight loss. Generally less side effects reported. Hope that helps? I think they're both effective though 😊

OP posts:
Catherine278 · 25/01/2025 20:28

That's really interesting @craigth162. Quite reassuring too. I think I'll stick with it because it's working and there have been no side effects. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I was also wondering how people who get the higher dose but split it into two doses manage it with the pen. Can you just turn the end of the pen up to 0.25? Does that make sense? I want to stay on 0.25 but save money by getting the 0.5 pen and just use half of it. Does anyone know?

Ginflinger · 25/01/2025 22:19

Hello all - great to hear all the stories and progress. Sorry to those experiencing side effects and I hope it all calms down for you. I meant to start last week, unfortunately couldn't, now trying to get the courage up to start on Monday. Fingers crossed!
