Thinking of starting weight loss injections

how much weight have you lost

how long did it take to notice a huge difference

Also what type of injections are you currently taking?

Can I suggest you have a read through some of the monthly threads or the >5 stone or Continuing Mounjaro threads where you can get an idea of how people have got on.

Hi

i have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks.

I have lost 19lbs.

Boobs were melons 🍈 now cherries 🍒
Knees not so sore
Clothes & seat belt in car are not so tight.
Clothes wise, I am down 1 size.
After a 💩, I can now wipe without putting my back out 🙂
My self esteem, self worth and confidence has been boosted, as you know what …… I can do this 💪

The biscuit/crisp/treat box is full as I have no desire to eat them which is unheard of.
Also, No desire to drink alcohol and I was starting to consume quite a few units in a week so my liver is benefiting as well.
Because I am not spending money on biscuits, chocolate, crisps, takeaways and alcohol, I am also saving money even after the expenditure of buying MJ.

Good luck if you decide to go ahead, what have you got to lose apart from fat, weight and inches.
If you want a cheeky wee £40 discount code with MedExpress fire me a pm 😜

Well done!!! Mounjaro Is the one I’m closely looking at.

how much exercise do you roughly do? As it’s majorly cold in Scotland at the moment we’re sitting at -6 so I’m think regarding exercise what to do.

im sure I’ll be in touch for the code 😂

I recommend the Shotsy thread - search Shotsy. People share their weight loss graphs and you can what people have lost by MJ strength. For example here is mine for 16 weeks - 2st 4.

I too am in Scotland and yes it’s 🥶

I am not at the point of overly exercising yet.

Close by, I have a nature reserve that has a 1.5 mile circuit. 3 Times a week I walk round it, some parts briskly to get the heart going, but some parts leisurely to take in the nature surrounding me which is equally beneficial.

My job is reasonably physical. Don’t get the opportunity to sit, constantly moving. So I class that as exercise as well .

Recycledblonde · 08/01/2025 08:06

I’ve been on it since June, starting weight was 14 stone 8, today I weigh 11 stone 9. Off to buy some new jeans today, I was a size 18 but might try a size 14 today.
Went to the dentist yesterday and the first thing the nurse said as I walked in was “You’re looking very slim” I’ve known her for 20 years so not offended by this, in fact it was lovely to have someone comment who hasn’t seen me for 6 months.

I also have stage 4 endometriosis with endometriosis in my c- section scar and a large cyst so I need to find out if it’s possible for me to have the jag first incase of complications! I’m just sick of been fat!!! Sitting at my heaviest I’ve ever been at nearly 11 and half stone I feel horrible.

Your GP will possibly be notified if you order MJ so have a conversation about it when you go tomorrow.

People say this...but I've never known it to happen. I've used Voy, Asda and now Numan, and neither of these companies have informed my GP. Two friends used MedExpress and their GPs haven't been informed either.

I'd love to know which companies actually do inform GPs, so if anyone has experienced this please do share 👌🏻

13 weeks - 2stone 7lbs.

Medexpress told my doctor.

I’m still in all my old clothes.

Cheerupmaggi · 08/01/2025 08:26

Zava med notified my doctor each time I ordered. It's on my medical record on the NHS app.

Recycledblonde · 08/01/2025 08:28

I started with med express and they informed my GP who told them I had gallstones (totally asymptomatic), they then refused to prescribe even though my GP said she was happy with me having it as I’ve lost slowly. Superdrug are happy to prescribe and have also told my GP.

FerretChops · 08/01/2025 08:42

73 lbs ish since late April. Now 9 stone 8

How much weight have u lost.

Same starting date, starting weight as me. I weighed in at 11st 10 this morning. Started in size 18 trousers and now comfy in a 16. Not sure how much more weight I want to shift. Would love to slip into size 14 jeans but worried my face may look too thin and old.

Bellyblueboy · 08/01/2025 08:57

I assume you are quite short OP? Is your BMi high enough to qualify for the prescription?

I work in a GP surgery, we get loads of letters every day notifying us people are on MJ.

Wegovypictures · 08/01/2025 09:13

5 stone in a year - i deliberately didn't rush

How much weight have u lost.
SilenceInside · 08/01/2025 09:16

@LostMyLanyard I've used Asda for the past 6 months and each time I order they send a letter to my GP and it's updated on the NHS app records.

Mine is on my notes and NHS app not sure which company notified them though. I've used Numan, Chequp, Health Express and others.

LostMyLanyard · 08/01/2025 09:17

@squidgymum ahhh that's good to know! I'm 'for' this, but so far not known anyone who has had their GP informed directly by the prescriber. I told my GP last time I was in (had been on Mounjaro for 5 months by that time!)

SilenceInside · 08/01/2025 09:17

Also, I've just changed to Zava, and they have also sent a letter to my GP.

lovealongbath · 08/01/2025 09:21

MedExpress notify my GP every order

ShiftAMountain · 08/01/2025 09:22

On about week 15 and so far have lost 3 stone/42lbs. I'm work from a desk all day but do take time out to walk the dog twice a day and when I'm not working tend to be a doer rather than a sitter. But otherwise, don't do any formal exercise.

I'm starting to wonder if I should deliberately slow down the weight loss a little bit to avoid losing it all too fast, loose skin etc.

One thing I think is worth considering is that this may be a long term/lifelong medication. I'm reading more and more people post that they try to stop and find the hunger and weight piles back on again - though some people are seeming to manage without it and it's possible more do and keep quiet about it. But there's definitely more online posts recently about rapid weight gain once someone has stopped. Financially and emotionally it is a real commitment - but also a life saver.

ShiftAMountain · 08/01/2025 09:23

MedExpress and Oushk do send letters to your GP for every order. Whether your GP takes any notice or not, it's hard to say.

Newhi · 08/01/2025 09:23

Six months and lost 3kg. I think I’m doing something wrong!!!
