Ooo let us know how you get on Goldleafcat am think of doing the same with dose 4.

Can I ask where you got your syringe and needles from? and is it straightforward to draw out the remaining liquid using them?
I guess you still have to prime by holding the syringe upwards and pushing out a drop or two first before injecting? (To get any air out)

I ordered insulin syringes and needles off amazon.

evilharpy · 18/11/2024 14:57

Husband has sorted our scales so I've managed to weigh and have had a huge shock. I estimated my weight for the prescription (I know, I know) based on my clothes size and what weight I went up to during a previous period of weight gain but this is much worse.

Ah well, it is what it is. It'll only be reducing from here on in so no point in dwelling on it.

MsRumpole · 18/11/2024 15:00

I am eating completely differently. Anyone else? I'm struggling to get through this latte because I ate 2 eggs and some beans

W3 D3

Awesome!

Marking my place on this new thread.

I took my first 2.5 jab last night. Does that make me day 1 today?

Weighed in but too embarrassed to share. I disgust myself.

I'm hoping it has a positive impact on my pcos as well.

Nothing adverse to report yet. Not yet had breakfast but that's not unusual. I have a two hour workshop to facilitate this morning so will see how I feel after that.

No one IRL knows what I weigh. I have posted it here for accountability and for progress reports. There is no need for self-loathing - you have taken positive steps to changing your life going forward. Keep strong ❤️

Hi checking in
Wk 4
SW 11st 2
CW 10st 7 1/2
Took my week 4 2.5mg jab yesterday
Have got the 5mg pen already but I'm not going to take the full dose as my suppression is good with the 2.5.

No longer craving Coke Zero - previously would have a couple of cans a day - now I barely finish 1.
Alcohol consumption is practically 0 as well.
Had 1 glasses of champagne with lunch yesterday and had a huge headache almost immediately.
I have to remind myself to eat
I'm not seeing food and snacking, so if there are biscuits and treats around I'm not tempted to eat them at all.
Fizzy drinks make me feel really bloated
Started to have a bit of constipation so adding some chia to my daily diet.

I'm sleeping more - once or twice I've gone to bed at 8pm which had been great.

I heard someone that if you are waking up in the night between 4-6 it's probably due to low blood sugar. This makes sense from when I did the CGM for two weeks it would show a huge dip around this time every night. So I do try to eat something before bed. Nuts mainly.

Ooh thanks for that tip. I’ve been waking at 4am every day since starting. Will try nuts before bed tonight.

Mounjaropen · 18/11/2024 16:37

lostinchaos · 18/11/2024 12:44

Thank you for the kind welcome!

Have any of you experienced any significant side effects from drinking alcohol? Obviously I'm not planning to regularly drink but my event this weekend is one where we definitely will... my friends may start assuming I'm pregnant if I don't! Smile

DH said I was waaay more shitfaced than I would’ve been on the same amount of alcohol I had on Friday. I think the slower metabolism/digestion has something to do with it. My advice would be to drink less that you usually would!

DarkForces · 18/11/2024 16:40

I've lost about half a stone in 2 weeks. So pleased to see the scales moving down but suspect I need to eat a bit more. I'm not particularly hungry but want it to be sustainable

Jabtastic · 18/11/2024 17:02

Just found you all! I'm due to start 5mg on Wednesday but I'm a bit scared so I might just take the bonus dose this week!

LindtCurves · 18/11/2024 17:35

Eek, here goes... First injection today. It was a lot less traumatic than anticipated!

W1 D1
SW 89kg (14st)
CW 89kg (14st)
GW 79kg initially and then progressing to below 69kg and see how that feels/looks

Weighing myself beore going on the meds I was really surprised. I thought I was almost 10kg slimmer! Spoken to a couple of friends about my weight and they don't even think I look overweight, never mind obese... I'm size 12-14 but I tried an old size 12 item I had from 10+ years ago and it was nowhere near being able to close to buttons territory.

Anyone else get that? Is it because most people in the UK are overweight now, people don't know what overweight looks like? Or do people just carry weight differently so you notice it less on some?

MsRumpole · 18/11/2024 15:00

I don't think I've finished a hot drink since I started. But I'm making more of them than usual.

Cantbesure · 18/11/2024 17:37

Thanks for the new thread. It is filling up quickly.

Week 1 day 1 for me. I've done done the jab after a lot of putting it off. I found it quite complicated and my mind is now spinning with worry. I do my own head in!!

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 18/11/2024 17:50

Just caught up on the old thread. That graph is interesting. It's a very big jump between 2.5 and 5. It's no wonder some feel so ill so suddenly on moving up.

I'm feeling very meh about the jab today. W2D4 and I'm not getting much suppression and today I feel sick. I hate hate hate feeling sick.

It's the week before my period is due so I don't know if it's just the point I'm at in my cycle or if it's just not for me

I've committed to finishing the pen so we shall see how I feel on W3D7 as to wether I reorder.

Mounjaropen · 18/11/2024 17:58

Has anyone continued on just 2.5mg? I think I am sensitive to the drug as I have literally had not one hunger pang since I started it. Today will be my third jab. I am losing weight steadily I think but I am also concerned I don’t eat enough. The lack of craving for wine every night has been the cherry on top.

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 18/11/2024 17:59

I might have a mid-week weigh in the morning to see if I can give myself a boost.

Good idea or bad idea?

Oceangreyscale · 18/11/2024 18:10

Week 2 day 2 here and I'm more hungry and fancy food more this week than last week, which is pretty annoying. Felt like it wore off by the end of the week and I was expecting the impact to be greater after the second dose. But we'll see. It's only the 2.5.

My husband started the same time as me and has felt quite sick, but I've been feeling fine.

piscofrisco · 18/11/2024 18:37

Ah found you-thankyou for the new thread.
I'm w1,d6 today. Felt a bit hungry around dinner time so glad to be doing my second jab tomorrow. Disastrously my scales have broken. So I'll need to get some new ones tomorrow which I'm terrified will weight me heavier than the old ones.

I think I have lost a little this week, despite a night out. Clothes feel a touch looser I believe.

But we shall see!

I wouldn't go up if I was getting good suppression and consistent weight loss.

MamaorBruh · 18/11/2024 18:48

Injected this morning and feel more hungry this afternoon/evening than I have done since I started.
This is injection 3.
I said up thread that today there was a small pool of fluid when I pulled the needle out and now I'm worried nothing has gone in!

WeakAsIAm · 18/11/2024 18:57

@MamaorBruh

Hey in a previous life (career) I was a diabetes nurse I would teach people how to give their injections. (It's the same method to injection insulin as MJ)

There can be a leak after injection (it's unlikely to be a great amount but still a loss) if you're finding leaking at the site increase your count time when you inject.

I always count to 20.

The fluid collects under the skin and can take a bit to move away from the injection hole so leaving the needle in longer gives the medicine more time to absorb and not leak out.

I found I had a little bead after my last injection.

Is it possible I'm pressing the plunger too fast? I waited for a count of 20.

I’ve been weighing daily! Down 3lb on W1D5.

I’m the same. I need to to keep me focused. I’m using the Noom app alongside injections. I lost 9lbs in June using Noom, stopped when on holiday then tried with mfp but just couldn’t get the weight moving. Then back to Noom but stress / fog eating was insane and I decided I needed more help. So far feeling good, but impatiently wishing 2 weeks away in the hope of a good loss to help me feel this is achievable.

Ah ok that makes sense, I'll do a longer count next time. I'm hopeful it's still gone in somehow as I did plunge it in, slowly push down and counted to maybe 8.
Thanks!

W2 D1 here….lost 5lbs last week, happy with that.

I have excellent appetite suppression on 2.5mg, except it seems to last exactly 7 days. Woke up today (injection 2 day) absolutely staaaaarving fir the first time in a week. Couldn’t wait to get the jab done, and suppression was back mid-afternoon, phew!
