@Jabtastic I'm the same. Lost weight from face, boobs and legs-where I didn't need to-not much off grim apron belly-which is what I most want rid off. As a result it looks even more pronounced! I'm hoping it will catch up soon or I'll look like a beach ball on skinny legs.

Omg me too ! @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo I am hoping that the coat DH bought me for an Iceland trip will fit must easier in the next month. It was a long Rab thermal thing and he bought the largest size available in that design. I looked like a teletubbie wearing it in January, I thought I was going to break the zip. That will be definitely be a non-scale achievement.

Me too! Let’s compare zip progress Pumpkinforever! Currently I am not even trying the zip but wearing a large scarf to cover the (chilly) frontage! 😁

These were always my last places to lose weight! I have to disagree this really is very new - in every weight loss attempt I made over decades I ALWAYS lost weight off my stomach first. Face was way after and my boobs never changed. It may of course be down to evil perimenopause rather than MJ to be fair!

Spoiler alert - the tummy fat gets worse as you get to actual menopause. 😩

Thank you to those like @JasonTindallsTan who are reporting slow/stable losses. I've done my 4th jab and lost 2kgs. Of which 0.5 has reappeared. It's so irritating, but I am always super slow at losing weight. I've never just shed loads over night, but teeny tiny ups and downs. I k ow over all I've lost since starting, I set off at 16 stone 4, now between 15 10 and 15 12.

Good thing is, despite the very slow loss, I'm definitely eating smaller portions, drinking less wine, and rarely eating anything sweet. Quite the achievement when you work in a cake bakery.

I have also found that I was pooing 3 times or more a day. Now I may go a day or 2 without pooing. I'm drinking loads of water, eating lots of fruit, veg and pulses. I think my body is probably healing from years of malfunctioning, and fingers crossed, when it finds its rhythm, the losses will kick in.

I’m the same, face and boobs first and wish it were tum! Though actually I don’t mind losing off my boobs too as they’re massive and means less weight pulling on my back. It will surely even out in the end, for now I’m trying to avoid mirrors as it just makes me sigh and tut! 😅

There’s a benefit to slower weight loss though.

I’m a bit worried about saggy loose skin after the weight loss, and lost loads in my first week and can’t eat now, so ideally I’d lose no more than 1kg a week and will keep my dose down to achieve that. It may sounds slow but it’s a healthier pace of loss and probably also more retainable long-term.

TeenLifeMum · 27/11/2024 23:18

Sorry to read all the frustrations. I hope you all start getting the results you want. I am W2 D4 and had lost a lb Monday, put it back on this morning. I’ve been eating really healthily but I think I’m a bit constipated so i plan to drink lots tomorrow when I’m wfh.

Work Christmas do today and I had one mini twirl from the heroes box and then stuck to my plan and avoided the buffet table. I did have a gin and lemonade at the lunch but ordered a veggie meal that was only 615 calories. (I wonder how accurate they are on menus?) All the other meals were over 1,000 each! Hoping it’ll show tomorrow because I’m super impatient!

I hope everyone’s feeling better and having less symptoms. I’m far less tired than last week - that was hard to keep my eyes open.

flyinghen · 28/11/2024 07:16

I'm on W2 D5/6, not sure on if injection day is counted as day 1.

I'm sadly having a fairly slow start with Mounjaro, the suppression hasn't been amazing but it's been there a bit. Yesterday it felt like it had completely worn off though. I lost 1lb in week 1 though! It does say suppression can take a couple of weeks to really kick in so I'm hopeful still. I take my 3rd 2.5mg dose tomorrow 🤞🏻

Symptoms wise for week 2 I've had heartburn in the evenings, I drink a little milk and it helps.

HammerbarnSausage · 28/11/2024 07:23

I've just done my bonus dose, it was really easy. I just twisted it around a bit harder than normal all the way to 1, jabbed it in, twisted it again and did the rest. I got about 2.9mg.

Is everyone going straight up to 5mg? I was hoping for a bit more in the bonus, but don't think it's worth cracking the new pen for a tiny bit extra. I might try and do 4mg next week.
Will weigh tomorrow, as I did it a day early to fit in better with weekends.

Seaside3 · 28/11/2024 07:41

@LindtCurves you're right. It feels frustrating when you read about all these big losses, but we all have our own concerns.

AlwaysTimeForWine · 28/11/2024 07:45

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 27/11/2024 21:35

AlwaysTimeForWine and JasonTindallsTan you guys are doing amazing with your exercise routines, honestly it will do wonders for your health and fitness in the present and long term, your future selves will thank you! Sorry I can understand it is frustrating that it isn’t boosting a big loss on the scales right now but there are so many great health benefits you will be building up and I hope the scales will catch up soon. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels you (and all you other fitness folk on here) do deserve losses for your efforts! May it come for you soon, keep going and pls let us know how you get on x

Thankyou for your kind words.

I am much calmer this morning. I think I was having a hormonal day.

I think that because I exercise and play sport competitively I feel somewhat fit. And therefore the little voice in my head is saying to me "why are you obese if you exercise, you should have no excuses".

You know - that mean horrible inner voice that judges myself for being overweight Confused It makes me feel like a failure. And then when the weight loss is slow it feels like more of a failure.

Being overweight and unhappy is an absolute brain melt down. Naturally slim people have no understanding of the mental anguish of it.

But I had a talking to myself and looked at all the positives of the last few weeks

I am eating significantly better. I've doubled my protein, fibre and water. I am not drinking wine in the week at all. I feel like I have more energy. I sleep better (apart from the first two night after the jab).

This is a marathon not a sprint. Slow and steady will still get me where I want to be, I just have to not give up hope. This is the last time I ever lose weight.

That doesn't sound too tricky.

So did you twist to 1 and do the 'usual' dose and then twist again to do extra - whatever was left?

I've not decided if I'm going to do the extra/bonus 2.5mg dose. Or use a syringe to get the rest out and increase the dose a bit using whatever is there. I'm going to see how I feel at the end of week 3.

Because I've still found myself a bit hungry I might increase up to 3.75 and do it that way. I can't deal with horrible side effects - I work in a school and it's tricky.

piscofrisco · 28/11/2024 07:58

Yes @AlwaysTimeForWine that's very true. I often look at slim people and envy them not for their figure (though a bit of that as well) but for the ease they must have in not having the mental load of being heavier to deal with. Of course everyone has their own problems but for me thinking anout food and my weight takes up such a lot of headspace. The thin (and not disordered) just don't understand that.

You’ve got this! Be kind to yourself. I know exactly what you mean though. For me it is really hard after menopause hit. There seems no rhyme or reason as to why the scales aren’t shifting despite eating well and exercising. I know it has taken a long time to get to the weight I’m at, so logically I’m not going to lose it in under a month. I also know when I was younger I would never have consumed as much wine or as many ‘treats’ in a single week as I did during my parenting and then caring for elderly parents years, so if I’m honest with myself it isn’t a mystery as to why my BMI was in the 30’s. MJ has helped me reset my mood, exercise, eating and drinking patterns to where they were in my 20’s and when I was a constant 9.5 stone. I’ve also realised I’ve been thinking about exercise more than I have about food 🤯I’ve also spent the evenings recently taking the time to do a proper self-care routine like I would’ve done pre children and I’ve spent the money I would’ve spent on booze over the past 4 weeks on a lovely massage/facial package.

Watching the results of poor lifestyle choices by my Parents has made me determined to be a spritely old lady wafting about in velvet looking fabulous, rather than being fat, miserable and infirm with only ‘David Dickinson’s real deal’ for entertainment!

Yes! All the time I spend thinking about weight, thinking about food, hating myself when I’m low, dodging questions like “why don’t you wear those lovely trousers you got in May?” Because they’re too tight…Dodging photos, feeling like the lesser daughter/grandchild/sister (my family are very sporty) - my thin sisters never have to think about any of this.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/11/2024 08:56

Anyway, this morning I am joining the 11s gang! 11.13.8, to be precise, but I will take it! I’m amazed because I was out for dinner last night and the place did regular meals and small meals, and like an idiot I chose regular and when it came it was enormous. I ate about half of it but I still feel stuffed this morning. I should just have had the small. Need to retrain my brain not to worry that I won’t get enough food.

Work Christmas do tonight, but I’ve looked at the menu and there are nice fish options that sound lighter. I’m delaying my jab until tomorrow, so this is technically week 3 day 1 but I’ll jab tomorrow. Morning or evening depending on the state of my hangover!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/11/2024 09:02

Forgot to post stats.

Start weight: 12.6
Current weight: 11.13.8
Total loss: 6.2lbs.

Like everyone else it’s coming off my face and boobs, but I am very pleased with this because my face was so round before! I was also spilling out of my bras so glad to reduce my boobs. It’s also coming off my ankles, which always happens. I have thin ankles anyway and now they look tiny. I could do with it coming off my thighs instead, but it always starts at the ankles.

W2 D5. I bought a lovely Seasalt coat a couple of months ago and despite allegedly being a 24 it was very tight on the shoulders and only just did up. I seem to be fitting into it a bit better which is nice. Suppression is still decent though possibly not as pronounced as last week. I made myself two fried eggs with chickpeas and had to give half to DH because it just looked like way too much food.

I am expecting that this honeymoon period will wear off and I will find myself frustrated. Reminding myself that it's going to settle at 1-2lb a week whether I like it or not and this is a long haul. Very worried about loose skin. I also have varicose veins which are going to become very noticeable as I lose weight round my thighs.

Weight currently seems to be coming off in the order it went on, so mostly face, boobs and the horrible roll of fat round my ribs that I am desperate to lose. So that's nice.

Massive solidarity to everyone feeling stuck this week. The scales will move eventually!

piscofrisco · 28/11/2024 09:26

You are exactly me in your thinking @TooExtraImmatureCheddar

Eeek! My scales are broken so no idea on losses but tried my target jeans on this morning and whilst they are still tight ish on the waist band they do up, they don't feel like they are cutting me in half and they are no longer too tight on the arse! What a lovely feeling!

lovealongbath · 28/11/2024 09:29

week 2 weigh in, 2.5lb loss.
