W4 d1 today, 10lbs off so far. Sticking with the 2.5 for my next pen as this one is still working well so far. Have noticed my joints aren't as sore. My BP has come down from borderline to normal. I'm on the waiting list for adhd assessment and there has been definite impact on my mind, it's much quieter!

That's interesting. I'm not diagnosed but my child is and I see a lot of traits in myself. Ive had more focus this week. Not sure whether it's because I'm happy with this weight loss plan so far so anxiety is more generally relieved or something else but I'll take it!

No I used a referral code to buy for £109 plus postage. I then saw it for £125 on here https://www.theprivatepharmacyclinic.co.uk. Sent them an email and they added £24.99 on my account. I believe it would be double that now, as they changed their terms the day after I ordered.

Thanks so much for sharing this tip. I’ve ordered the 5mg from MedExpress, sent them the screenshot of the £125 price and they have also credited my account with double the difference! Very happy here!

lovealongbath · 26/11/2024 17:18

This is most bizarre…..

I have naturally curly, bouncy hair. If I don’t straighten it or smooth it I look like a 1980’s reject.

first injection 12 days ago on a Thursday.
shampooed my hair the weekend and Tuesday following initial injection, all good, didn’t notice anything too different.
second injection on Thursday past, shampooed my hair on Saturday, didn’t have time to blow dry it, so let it dry naturally, the top layers were straighter than normal and my hair was flatter than normal, but it looked ok and I had nothing planned so didn’t give it much thought.
Today, I have shampooed my hair, OMG, it is really quite straight and very flat and no body.
In 12 days , my hair has gone from very curly and bouncy to reasonably straight and flat.

Anyone else had a change with their hair?

Week 2 day 4. I feel like Ive had my jaw wired shut. I put food in front of me and feel repulsed by it. Im only on 2.5 mgs but my appetite has cometely gone. I like the idea of food but the reality is I dont want it. Ive lost half a stone in a week and a half. This is madness.

I know, isn’t this a bit scary?

I didn’t eat all day, no appetite, then forced myself to order a healthy dish at the health club, salad with lots of different bits. As soon as I saw the portion size I knew right away I could never manage to finish! Had about half and even that was forced, and the meal was delicious!

I’m a bit worried I don’t eat enough (well I know I don’t) but it feels so hard to eat. I’ve made a meal plan with 3 healthy delicious small meals a day adding up to 1,400 cal and absolutely no idea how I’ll get it down me!

Finishing a bottle of water was a struggle this morning.

I’ve lost a stone in a week.

Reirdered the 2.5mg dose again as I’m not sure what would happen on 5mg!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/11/2024 18:52

Weirdly, I am wearing a pair of trousers today that I used to have to be a stone lighter to wear. It is possible they’ve gradually stretched with wear/washing, but I don’t wear them very much as they’re very distinctly winter trousers (as well as spending time out of circulation as they were too small).

Total loss 14lb now classed as over weight (opposed to obese) BMI now 29.9 so wouldn't even qualify for MJ which I find quite shocking as I'm still noticeably overweight.

Nobody has commented on my weight loss so obviously not noticeable to anybody else yet. I can feel a difference especially in my clothes.

So managed a full month on 2.5mg minimal side effects, stepped up to 3.75mg last week using my bonus dose and to give myself a bridge to 5mg.
Found I run out of suppression by D5 on week 3&4 so planned to increase to 5mg.
Ordered my 5mg and it's been sat in the fridge for a week.
Just used the last of my bonus dose plus a smidge from my 5mg pen to make a second 3.75mg dose for W5. I'll see how I go if I find I start running out of suppression at the end of the week I may top up to 5mg.
Plan to move to 5mg from next week, pleased with my results so far but can feel the MJ wear off at the end of each week even on the increased dose this week.
I'm hoping not to step up too far (as I don't want to pay the higher prices Grin) and really want to reach my goal on as low a dose as possible.
I've been batch cooking soup for work, having porridge for breakfast and then choosing a healthy family evening meal. Do tend to leave some on my plate/bowl each meal; even when my suppression is low I still can't manage a full meal. I've got chocolate in the fridge and I'm not bothered by it, previously unheard of for me Blush
Started doing HIIT with Joe wicks 3 weeks ago, I want to exercise but not confident to get out there just yet so just popping YouTube on in the mornings before work and getting my fitness levels up.

Well done to all on your fabulous losses this week, commiserations to those suffering with side effects hopefully they will settle soon.

Glad to be part of such a wonderful group

Well done! Amazing loss. I’ve ordered my 5mg as I think I might need a boost. I’ve got good suppression and I’m exercising a lot, but the scales aren’t falling as much as I’d like. Current BMI is 30.7. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

UpToonGirl · 26/11/2024 20:40

My period just came 3 days early which is unusual for me, cramps have been more painful also. In the past when I've tried to eat low calorie it has brought my period forward but only by a day or 2 max.

I did have a weigh in this morning, although I'm trying to stick to only checking in my jab days (Fridays) and I've lost a few more lbs bringing my total loss to around 8/9 lbs at wk 4 day 4.

WeakAsIAm · 26/11/2024 22:25

@Mounjaropen

We've got this 💪💪💪

LeanneJP · 26/11/2024 22:41

W3 D5. 9lbs down and very happy. I honestly can’t believe how I’m not thinking about food all the time like I used to. I’ve had almost zero side effects so far, just cold hands and feet occasionally. I have the 5mg pen ready to move up to but I’m a little worried about side effects, tho I’m thinking if I’ve had nothing on 2.5 for 3 weeks hopefully they’ll be minimal when I move up. Wish I’d known about Mounjaro months ago!

phyllidafosset · 26/11/2024 23:06

TeenLifeMum · 25/11/2024 11:16

@phyllidafosset thank you. This is where I sound petty - the options are pass or distinction so merit isn’t an option. I’d say I’m a top end merit 😂😭 so “just a pass” would be annoying but, like you say, employers won’t care. I also have done the level 7 pgdip with 3 dc and a full time job, plus an unsupportive manager (previous manager signed me up for it and new manager was fuming and tried to pull me off it a month in). It’s been emotional and I’ve eaten my way through the stress… thus here I am on a weighted chat 😂

Not petty at all. When I did my masters a long time ago it was the same thing. I was told they were changing the grade boundaries so I would have gotten a distinction if I’d done it the following year. But my pass still helped get me where I wanted to be professionally, so it was all good 😊 Fingers crossed for you and congratulations either way 😊

Thanks @phyllidafosset I discovered I don’t get the pgdip results until February but I have had my chartered manager assessment results and it’s a double distinction 🎉 I felt sick opening the email and couldn’t speak. Showed dh then I burst into tears. Such a relief - it proves I’m good enough, and I’ll have a certificate to remind me. I had a hideous bullying situation 2 years ago and I’ve not fully recovered. Lost lots of confidence so this means a lot.

in weight loss news, this morning I got lots of compliments on my dress. I’ve worn it before but I think it fits better now. Anyway, I’ll take the nsv!

Work pub lunch and Christmas buffet tomorrow. Really hope I don’t lose control - going to be interesting.

phyllidafosset · 26/11/2024 23:24

@TeenLifeMum woohoo! That sounds like a fabulous day!!! Congratulations on your great results and great dress compliments 😊🎉

I have had a stupidly busy day, and so are nothing until dinner. I think I may have eaten too much because I’ve been feeling bloated and uncomfortable since. Hoping to sleep it off. But glad I don’t have the same terribly upset stomach of last week!

i think that the impact of the jab definitely feels like it builds and then wains slightly (based on 1 1/2 weeks of evidence 🤣). But the scales tipped below 12st today, which is very exciting.

awesome! Congratulations!

if it helps, I had a bullying issue in one of my first roles. I said to the person (as I left because I’d been posted to a different location within thd company) “we both know I’ll be back here, and when I am, we both know I’ll be the boss. One of the first things I will do is to get rid of you”. She left not long after. And I did return as the boss 😉

Yay, we’re in the 11s together @phyllidafosset

I’m w2d2 and I’m definitely thinking about food more than last week. I fancied something sweet and planned marshmallows but ended up going for a banana. Possibly more calories but I didn’t break my sweet tooth door open.

Hope you’re feeling less bloated tomorrow. currently no side effects this week but it’s early days.

Thank you xx.
we went through a whole merger at work and my small team joined a bigger one and the bigger team. A few of them did everything to put me down and the director was one of the worst. It’s better now but still not great. I do believe in karma and have learned to hold true to my values.

JasonTindallsTan · 27/11/2024 08:46

I’m very frustrated this week. I started exercising and trying to eat a bit better in July, I lost a stone in about 6 weeks and since then I bobbed around the same weight give or take 3 or 4 pounds. Whilst I kept the exercising up; the eating slipped and I couldn’t get myself back into control of it. The weight then crept back up so basically I’d put on half a stone of the stone I’d lost. Enter MJ. Week one I lost 5.5lb so was pretty much back down to the stone lost weight. Since then I’ve lost 2lb, put on 1lb, lost 0.5lb, put on 1lb, and still can’t get down past that bloody stone mark and into the 15’s. I finished week one weighing 16 stone 2.6lb. Today after a week of losing and putting on the same couple of pounds I weigh 16 stone 2.4lb. Like ffs. Give me strength.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/11/2024 08:48

Congratulations, @TeenLifeMum! That’s wonderful.

@phyllidafosset, well done on getting into the 11s! My scales flickered on 11.13 before settling into 12 stone dead this morning, so fingers crossed I join you tomorrow.

W2D7 and I’ve lost 6lb total since starting MJ - whoosh this morning after diarrhoea yesterday. Not sure that was the MJ - I have IBS and I had steak and kale for dinner with no carbs and that does sometimes trigger it. Next mini goal: get into the 11s, and then after that it’s to get to 11.9, which is a BMI of 29.9 for me.

BleachedJumper · 27/11/2024 08:51

@JasonTindallsTan thats frustrating! What kind of exercise are you doing and how often?

Do you drink 2/3 litres of water daily?

Are you in a calorie deficit?

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 27/11/2024 08:57

Can someone talk me through this golden dose business when it comes to insulin syringes? Just tried to use my pen to do it and it did not work at all. Pushed past the resistance but the plunger just did not move.

Had a weigh in this morning and despite not feeling much suppression and cravings starting to creep in I've managed another 2lb off since Thursday.

Pretty happy with that, nice little boost before next jab on Thursday.

AlwaysTimeForWine · 27/11/2024 09:07

I'm feeling a bit deflated this week - I'm W2D4.

I took my second jab on Sat evening and jumped on the scales this morning (Wed) and they haven't moved AT ALL yet this week. Nothing. Still the same weight I was on Saturday morning.

I am not feeling a huge desire to overeat, I am hungry at meal times and managing to eat enough. I feel a bit overfull afterwards and often have indigestion. Felt quite nauseous yesterday. I'm still tracking my calories every day, drinking plenty of water and getting enough fibre and protein.

Had some wine and some Chinese food on Sat - a spoon of rice and all the chicken out of one the dishes. Enough to feel full but probably half what I'd normally have. And 2 glasses of wine - all tracked and measured.

Sunday I also ate well, had an oven pizza for dinner but was chosen carefully - not crappy processed, but a small Crosta & Mollica one that is 577 calories.

On Sat I had 1600 calories, and Sun 2000. So much higher than my usual 1300-1500.
I played hockey on Saturday so burned extra calories and on Sunday I did a weights session. So stayed under my TDEE and exercised on both days.

Monday I had 1370 calories, and had hockey training so burnt more calories again on top of already being in a deficit.

Tuesday no exercise but only ate 1330.

I am 5ft 9, weigh 15st 5lbs, BMI 32 and am strong. There is absolutely NO WAY I am not in a calorie deficit eating those amounts.

Why haven't the scales moved yet? It's so disheartening. Whether I am on MJ or not I should be seeing a weight loss already this week 😫

I know it's a long journey. But I'm paying all this money and it is obviously helping me to stay in a calorie deficit. So where is the weight loss?!

JasonTindallsTan · 27/11/2024 09:20

BleachedJumper · 27/11/2024 08:51

@JasonTindallsTan thats frustrating! What kind of exercise are you doing and how often?

Do you drink 2/3 litres of water daily?

Are you in a calorie deficit?

So frustrating. I play football (training - an hour and at least half a match) twice a week and go to the gym a minimum of 3x per week on top of that doing mixture of strength and cardio for approx 40 mins. I have a daily average of over 10000 steps for the last 6 months.

Typical daily intake on MJ has been egg white on 1 slice wholemeal for breakfast. Aldi lamb hotpot ready meal for lunch (350 cals). Chilli/chicken curry/bolognese (insert other normal evening meal) for tea. MJ has cut out snacking almost completely. I say almost as I did have some chocolate buttons after tea one night last week. It’s just annoying as eating the exact same stuff last week I saw a good loss and this week the scales are refusing to budge. And it’s my birthday this week so I’ll probably have a bit of cake and maybe a more calorific evening meal and that’ll take another week to get off. I’ve never been one of those people who can ‘have a night off from dieting’ because if I do I put on 3-4lb (presumably in water but still it all looks the same on the scales) and I have to get that back off again which can take up to a week.
