So a friend of mine started taking mounjaro. She took her 2nd dose last week and has been sick ever since, has severe stomach pain and been off work. She phoned her GP and they refused to see her because they hadn't prescribed it ? I have never heard of a GP refusing to see anyone on this basis, I didn't even know they were allowed ?

I am based in UK.

What?! That’s outrageous! Surely they can’t refuse to see someone on that basis? Honestly, GPs these days.. has she contacted the provider she bought them off for advice?

So diarrhoea, sulphur burps, stomach cramps and dry heaving this morning 🙄🙄. And my husband is off on a work trip for several weeks. I’m wondering if I’m going to need to take a temporary pause as obviously I can’t cope with evening in this sort of state 😭.

Anyone else on 5mg? How’s it going?

MsRumpole · 26/11/2024 08:40

Week 1 day 2. Got a bit more sleep last night and suppression is back full force this morning. Coffee for breakfast and hopefully I can manage something proteiny for lunch. Going out for steak this evening so do actually want to have some room!

getthosetitsup · 26/11/2024 08:41

I took my 1st dose last night. So far, so good. A very slight headache, but that's it.

fubard · 26/11/2024 08:56

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 25/11/2024 17:34

W2 D5
I had noticeable appetite suppression in week 1 but in week 2 it's much less, to the extent that I've started to wonder if I did the second injection right.

With little appetite suppression at the moment, I've been using this opportunity to try to learn to listen to the signals my stomach is sending about hunger / satiety, and realising that I've not really been doing that pre-Mounjaro (possibly because I never stopped eating for long enough to actually experience proper hunger).

Definitely noticing actual hunger before meals this week, wanting larger portions, and there have also been a couple of times when I've craved high-sugar, high-fat foods (but had a protein shake or banana instead).

I'm currently W2D5 as well and I'm exactly the same. Much less suppression than last week and whilst I'm managing to stave off the craving for sweet things with a bit of willpower it's definitely there.

Like you I've tried to have a banana or an apple, I am however extremely proud of myself.... I managed to make a chocolate orange last over a week!

Just need to get through to the 5th Dec so I can do my golden dose.

IHateMozzies · 25/11/2024 17:27

No I used a referral code to buy for £109 plus postage. I then saw it for £125 on here https://www.theprivatepharmacyclinic.co.uk. Sent them an email and they added £24.99 on my account. I believe it would be double that now, as they changed their terms the day after I ordered.

Thank you so much for sharing this IHateMozzies! I ordered my first 5mg pen from MedExpress on Friday using someone’s £40 off referral code but emailed MedExpress yesterday showing the private pharmacy clinic price and have just received an email back that they are crediting my account with double the difference - £50! Fantastic, thank you 😃

Just wondering at what point people went up to 5?
I've only done 2.5 and have stretch it to 5 jabs with the bonus dose (needed to wait for pay day for my next order). I'm ordering my next pen tomorrow and obviously will be guided by their advice but was interested to see how others have moved up.

Suppression is still good on 2.5 at the moment.

piscofrisco · 26/11/2024 11:20

I'm due to do my 3rd 2.5 today. I've got a sharp headache but I'm also full of cold so it's probably that. I've got a job interview at 1 and will do after that as I have felt nauseous directly after the first two.
Week 2 has been slightly less suppression than week 1 and a bit more craving of sweet things which are my nemesis. But I have found it easier not to cave for sure. And I've never felt hungry exactly....

Still no scales here but clothes are feeling looser. I dare not try my trader jeans on however as if I still can't get in them I will be demoralised. Need to find time to do a bit more exercise.

MrsMcvities · 26/11/2024 11:42

Gettingbysomehow · 26/11/2024 07:25

Week 2 day 4. I feel like Ive had my jaw wired shut. I put food in front of me and feel repulsed by it. Im only on 2.5 mgs but my appetite has cometely gone. I like the idea of food but the reality is I dont want it. Ive lost half a stone in a week and a half. This is madness.

Exactly the same weight loss in the same time frame as me! Yesterday I thought my second jab wasn’t working because I ate a piece of a donut then couldn’t resist going back and finishing it (sorry kids lol) but today I’m back to 0 interest

That’s fab! I just sent mine off too for a price match but I’m not sure I’ll get it as I’m 16 days from ordering it something. In their email to me is said double price match only valid for orders made after 22nd nov for anyone else wondering.

girlinapinny · 26/11/2024 11:50

Hi guys! Love reading everyone's experiences, it's so helpful and makes me feel not alone in the journey! Especially as I've only told my husband 😂
Im on W1D6 and I've lost 8 pounds/3.3kg, wtf?? Feels like a miracle. But I really wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced their skin conditions improving? I've had psoriasis for 15 years and within three days of the jab, it disappeared nearly entirely! The other side effect is the fact I feel sooo loose - no back aches or leg aches anymore. I feel like I'm in a new body!

I'm a bit behind you (3rd dose tomorrow) but at the moment I'm thinking of increasing the dose just after Christmas. Possibly to 3.75mg?
I work term-time only, so that gives me space to manage any side effects from dose increase before going back to work.
I realise that would mean increasing the dose in the middle of a pen, so I would order 5mg and count clicks for the initial smaller dose(s).

jay55 · 26/11/2024 13:28

@girlinapinny those are amazing positive side effects.

I do have a less itchy scalp, I just thought it was the weather being cold.

piscofrisco · 26/11/2024 14:24

Just done 3rd jab. This one hurt and bled a bit for the first time. Think I must have hit a vein. Hoping for a continuation of few side effects and still the suppression. I feel like I've been lucky so far

This is terrifying. If the GP won't see her she should go to a drop in or a&e if she's worried. They can't not see you if you are ill.

Pumpkinforever · 26/11/2024 15:06

So if I am going to try the golden dose hard twist thing I need to buy a box of needles! I may only use 5 or six. It’s a nonsense I may have 90 disposable needles heading towards landfill/sharp collection point.

Local chemists are missing an opportunity

Novjaro · 26/11/2024 15:16

IHateMozzies · 25/11/2024 17:00

If anyone has ordered with MedExpress in the last 14 days, they will price match even if used a referral code. I got £24.99 credit on my account today.

Thank you so much for sharing this - I’ve just been credited £49.98, which makes up for missing out on the £40 off the first order. Very pleased and would never have known without your message. 😘

Due to start 5mg on Friday and am scared so also considering 3.75 - any idea on the clicks it takes to do this? I figure maybe 2 weeks in 3.75 would get more in my system ready for 5mg

Whattodowithaminute · 26/11/2024 16:17

@Demjay sorry to hear you are feeling so rough, what week are you on? I felt similar today and wonder if it’s having more of the product in the system, or if I just ate the wrong things yesterday, I’m w3 d6

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 26/11/2024 16:31

It's 60 clicks to turn the dosing dial to the '1' marker and deliver one full dose from the pen.

0.75 of 5mg is 3.75mg
0.75 of 60 clicks is 45 clicks

piscofrisco · 26/11/2024 16:33

How can you count the clicks? My pen doesn't make a noise for each click 🫣

StarShapedWindow · 26/11/2024 16:39

@Demjay I’m so sorry you’re feeling so awful. How long have you been taking the 5mg? Were you suffering any side effects on the 2.5mg?

I took my second 5mg dose yesterday evening and so far have no symptoms but when I took my first dose last week I felt nauseous for the first few days. I really hope you feel better very soon.

I’ve bought the 5mg, hoping to go to 3.75 first to see how it goes. Will be doing the 5th dose first though.
